The article deals with the problems of assessing the economic efficiency of smart production and ways to resolve them. It has been found that Smart Manufacturing is currently becoming a goal in itself and a guarantor of successful development of industrial business. A comparative analysis of scientific publications to clarify the content of the concept of Smart Manufacturing is carried out, it is revealed that it is necessary to distinguish between intelligent and smart production, which are currently used as synonyms. Analysis of the practice of organizing smart manufacturing has shown that often the process of creating Smart Manufacturing pursues the goal of participating in a popular, useful process with the expectation of future “blurry” positive results; but there are also the actual results in the form of cost savings (better organization of the production process), an increase in production and an increase in labor productivity. All enterprises and organizations quite clearly understand the process of creating a specific smart production with detailing of individual stages, therefore, the specific goals of Smart Manufacturing should be specified taking into account a specific enterprise, but at the same time, standardized for the possibility of a comparative assessment of economic efficiency. It has been proved that traditional economic indicators of efficiency are used to assess the economic efficiency of Smart Manufacturing; but for the organization it is necessary to form a special system of performance indicators based on the theory of management by goals. It is determined that the main factor of Smart Manufacturing is innovative capital, since smart manufacturing is innovative by definition. Possible options for the formation and combination of goals and objectives of Smart Manufacturing and innovation capital are considered. The content and structure of the regulation for assessing the economic efficiency of Smart Manufacturing are proposed

Subject. This article explores the theoretical basis of the economic efficiency of production and classifies the performance figures of beef cattle husbandry. Objectives. The article aims to define a system of indicators of beef cattle husbandry economic efficiency. Methods. For the study, we used a comparative analysis. Conclusions and Relevance. To assess the economic efficiency of agriculture production, it is necessary to use a set of indicators by beef cattle breeding sub-sector. The system of economic performance indicators of production needs to be transformed into a summarizing indicator. The results of the study can be applied in the theory and practice of determining the economic efficiency of the beef cattle industry.

Abstract: With the development of demography and population studies in the second half of the 1960s in Romania, a special attention was given to the economic efficiency of the Romanian education system, as education was considered ‘the main factor of economic growth’. Several demographic and economic studies reveal a special concern for the developmental effectiveness of the higher education system. This article examines several key concepts (such as ‘intellectual capital’ as opposed to ‘physical capital’, or ‘education stocks’), used by Romanian demographers for the evaluation of the economic efficiency of the Romanian higher education system at the end of the 1960s.

One of the key ones and most cost-effective technology from an economic point of view for the real sector is the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, which is usually provided in the form of Internet of Things (IoT) platforms, still does not have its own framework for assessing its economic efficiency. The author proposes a methodological approach based on a combination of classical methods of investment analysis and an architectural approach. From the information point of view the scientific work is based on cost-effectiveness studies of IoT projects, domestic and foreign scientific publications, IT cases and research on taxonomy of IoT platforms. The proposed approach may serve as the basis both for preparation of financial business cases and for facilitating the development of tools for objective assessment of the project initiatives attractiveness as part of implementation of the state digital development programs in Russia.

The implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) is a challenging task for many businesses. Yet, effective implementation of KPIs is among the major determinants of performance and success of an organization. This study explored the new strategic thinking in mitigating the challenges in implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) and increasing efficiency in corporate performance management in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region. The study sought to test three hypotheses: (i) there is a significant relationship between having enough training and awareness sessions before implementation and effective implementation of KPIs; (ii) there is a significant relationship between having KPI professionals and specialists and effective implementation of KPIs; and (iii) there is a significant relationship between having clear KPI goals and objectives, on one hand, and the effective implementation of KPIs on the other. Hypotheses 2 and 3 were proved to be true while results for hypothesis 1 were inconclusive. A total of 1007 participants from across the MENA region were involved in the study. The findings demonstrate the importance of having clear KPI goals and objectives and KPI professionals or specialists to oversee the KPI selection and implementation process. Further research should be conducted to establish whether there is a significant relationship between having enough training and awareness sessions before implementation and effective implementation of KPIs.

Целью исследования являлось теоретическое обоснование и практическая реализация нового способа полива гидромелиоративной машиной Фрегат с гидроприводом на сложном рельефе с минимальными затратами на модернизацию и энергозатратами. Объектом исследования является экспериментальный кранзадатчик скорости, устанавливаемый на гидромелиоративную машину. Исследования проводились в сравнении с показателями машин серийного производства. В ходе исследования было установлено, что существующая технология полива не отвечает необходимым требованиям гидромелиорации и имеет низкую степень экономической эффективности. Предлагаемая технология полива решает вопрос неравномерного распределения влаги по площади, повышает урожайность и снижает стоимость обслуживания машины вследствие уменьшения числа поломок. Имеющиеся модернизации дождевальной машины (ДМ) Фрегат , позволяющие работать по предлагаемой технологии, сложны по конструкции, ненадежны и имеют относительно высокую стоимость модернизации и сезонного обслуживания. С целью увеличения экономии средств и упрощения процесса модернизации серийных машин был разработан и протестирован кранзадатчик скорости, позволяющий снизить риск эрозии почв, застревания колес тележек и, тем самым, простой машины с необходимостью ее ремонта. Главной особенностью экспериментального краназадатчика скорости является его горизонтальное расположение относительно тележки. Два плеча с увеличенной длиной позволяют задавать поливную норму путем касания вех в начале каждого сектора, где необходимо сменить скорость движения машины. Таким образом, происходит регулирование поливной нормы, выдаваемой машиной при ее движении по орошаемой площади. Получившийся экономический эффект позволяет утверждать о положительных результатах в проведенных исследованияхThe aim of the research is the theoretical justification and practical implementation of the new method of irrigation irrigation and drainage machines Frigat with hydraulic drive for complex tasks of modernization and energy consumption. The object of the study is an experimental speedadjusting crane installed on a water reclamation machine. The studies were conducted in comparison with indicators of machine production. In the course of research it was found that the existing technology does not meet the requirements of irrigation and drainage and has a low degree of economic efficiency. The issue of uneven distribution of the owner by area, high productivity and low cost of maintenance is being addressed. DM Frigat, which allows you to work on the proposed technologies, does not require the cost of modernization and seasonal maintenance. In order to increase cost savings and develop new models of machines, a speed control crane has been developed and tested to reduce the risk of machine destruction. The operation of the trolley is the horizontal arrangement of the trolley. The speed of the machine can be increased. Thus, regulation of the irrigation rate occurs. The resulting economic effect allows us to argue about the positive results in the studies

The article presents an overview of scientific publications on institutions of entrepreneurship development. It has been stated that most of publications consider three main issues: the definition of such institutions, their typology and methodological tools for assessing the effectiveness of functioning. There have been determined the specific features of the institution of entrepreneurship development in the Northern raw materials regions: Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District - Yugra and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. It has been found that the institution of entrepreneurship development in the regions under consideration is at the stage of its formation. There is a sufficient infrastructure to support small businesses. The lack of unified methodological approaches to assessing the effectiveness of the institution of entrepreneurship development and a large number of different structures do not allow to manage purposefully the process of entrepreneurship development. A methodological approach to assessing the socio-economic efficiency of the entrepreneurship institute on the basis of target indicators and criteria for the social and economic efficiency of budgetary investments directed through institutions of entrepreneurship development has been proposed. The presented methodological approach includes five stages: determination of quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the institution of entrepreneurship development; identification of problems based on the analysis; formation of a system of goals; developing criteria for the social and economic efficiency of budget investments. As criteria for the social efficiency of budget investments it was proposed to use the following factors: population employment, expanding the range of services, increasing transport permeability, maintaining traditional activities of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North. The criteria of economic efficiency include the innovative nature of entrepreneurship, the decrease in the mono-profile of the regional economy, the development of competitive products, the promotion of the formation of an information society. The final stage provides correlating the feasibility and possibilities of directing budgetary investments to the institution of entrepreneurship development in order to achieve the target indicators. The recommended methodological approach makes it possible to formulate the priorities of the institution of entrepreneurship development at the regional level and to allocate budgetary funds with maximum efficiency.

The article deals with the problem of the economic feasibility of continuing the operation of obsolete vessels, their modernization and acquisition of new modern vessels. There have been analyzed the economic issues of modernization of obsolete vessels, content of work on the modernization of vessels, as well as fundamental differences between the modernization of existing vessels and their replacement with new ones. Static principles of determining the economic efficiency of the vessels modernization are formed, which allows a preliminary assessment of the economic feasibility of work on the modernization of vessels. Methodological guidelines for determining the economically viable payback period of a modernized vessel have been developed. It is recommended to evaluate the economic feasibility of modernizing an outdated vessel compared to replacing it with a new competitive vessel by comparing operating costs for an existing vessel after upgrading it with operating costs for a new vessel, as well as comparing capital investments in upgrading and purchasing a new vessel. Inequality is constructed, expressing the economic feasibility of the early replacement of obsolete vessels with new modern ones compared to the modernization. The dynamic principles of the economic evaluation of the modernization of vessels are formed, taking into account the change in the value of money over time during the investment stages of the project on the modernization of the vessel and the subsequent periods of operation of the upgraded vessel. Calculations were made of the economic efficiency of the modernization of the Volzhsky vessel of the project 05074, the purpose of which was to upgrade the power plant and reduce operating costs. The positive results of the modernization of vessels of the river fleet are considered. The negative aspects of the modernization of vessels that should be taken into account when choosing the direction of updating the fleet of the Russian shipping companies are identified.
