This study aims to determine the effect of the Crossword Puzzle application based on the Puzzle Maker application method on learning outcomes of biology education students at the Muslim University of Maros on the concept of Kingdom Animalia. This research was a quantitative type of research using the Quasi Experiment method. The research comparing two classes, the experimental class with the Crossword Puzzle method treatment, and the control class with conventional learning. The results showed that the post-test score of the experiment class was 78.15 with the completeness category of 83.3 %. Compared to the control class, the average score of learning outcomes was 64.07 with the completeness category of 8.3%. The hypothesis testing, the P-value for the pretest-posttest of the experiment class was 0.001 (𝝆<0.05). It indicates that the Crossword Puzzle learning method based on the Puzzle Maker application increased in learning outcomes of biology education students at the Muslim University of Maros on the Kingdom Animalia concept.

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of inquiry learning methods on the learning outcomes of fifth grade students in science subjects of light traits in Catholic Elementary School Nita I. This research is a quasi-experimental study. The sample of this study was 39 students consisting of 20 VA students as the experimental class and 19 VB students as the control class. Learning outcomes tests and learning motivation questionnaire sheets were used to obtain data in this study, with a t-test performed to test hypotheses preceded by a prerequisite analysis test in the form of a normality test. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the inquiry learning method has a positive and significant effect on the students’ learning outcomes. The group of students who took part in the learning with inquiry learning method obtained a better post test score which was equal to 76.25 compared to the group of students who followed conventional learning who obtained a post-test average score of 65.26.

This study aims to determine the differences between NHT) and STAD learning outcomes of clas VII Biology MTs Madinatussalam. The sample of this research is class VII-1 with 32 student as NHT class and 32 student in VII-2 as STAD class. The instrument used in this study was a multiple choice test concisting of 20 questions. The results of analysis showed that the average post-test score for the experimental class I NHT was 82 very high category. Meanwhile, the experimental class II STAD the average post-test score was 67,2 high category. The hypothesis test of the difference in learning outcomes of students in expremental class I NHT and expremental class II STAD, obtained tcount = 6,036>ttable = 1.999, then Ho is rejected and Ha is acepted. This shows that there is a difference in the biology lerning out comes of student who are thought using NHT learning method and those taught using the STAD learning method.

The Purpose of this study is to determine the use of Course Review Horay method for increasing students interest in Vertebrate Zoology courses in Biology Education Department year 2017/2018. This study is a Classroom Action Research, the subjects consisted of 47 students. Data were collected using observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis and effect size. This study was conducted in three cycles, each consisting of one meeting during 2 x 50 minutes. Result showed that the Course review horay method could increase students’ interest and the cognitive learning outcomes.  Based on questionnaires on students learning interest, at cycle I, data obtained as much as 44,73%, while at cycle II showed an increase in average score by 81,58%. As for the cognitive learning outcomes showed an increase in post-test value in each cycle. The effect size between cycle I and cycle II as much as 0.39 representing small effect size. While the effect size for cycle II and III were 1, 78 which represent high effect size.

ABSTRAK Media laboratorium virtual berbasis android mobile merupakan alternatif media untuk mengatasi kertebatasan sarana dan prasarana praktikum dengan menggunakan perangkat mobile berbasis android. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media laboratorium virtual berbasis android mobile terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa biologi FKIP Universitas Muslim Maros. Jenis penelitian ádalah penelitian eksperimen dengan subyek penelitian yaitu mahasiswa program studi pendidikan biologi yang sedang menempuh mata kuliah teknik laboratorium pada semester genap (VI) tahun akademik 2017/2018 yang berjumlah 32 orang. Teknik Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik pemberian pretest-postest untuk hasil belajar. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis dengan bantuan SPSS Versi 20 for Windows. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh sampel berdistribusi normal dengan ketentuan Sig (0,715) > α (0,05) untuk kelas kontrol dan Sig (0,927) > α (0,05) untuk kelas eksperimen. Signifikansi (Sig) Based on Mean adalah sebesar 0,358 > 0,05, menunjukkan varians kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen adalah sama atau homogen. Nilai t hitung dan nilai Sig (2-tailed = 0,003) < ½ α (0,05) maka Ho ditolak. Jadi ada pengaruh positif penerapan media laboratorium virtual berbasis android mobile terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa. This study aimed to determine the effect of the virtual media laboratory based android mobile towards students’ learning outcomes majoring in Biology Education at Faculty of Teacher Training and Education the University of Muslim Maros. This study was an experiment research. The subjects of the research were Biology Education students who were enrolled on the laboratory course. The number of students who were joining this research were 32 students. They were at the fourth semester in academic year 2017/2018. This research used pretest-posttest design as the techniques of data collection to examine students’ achievement in learning. The collected data then were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis test by using SPSS 20.0 for windows device. From the data analysis, the result showed that normal distribution of the sample was Sig (0,715) > α (0,05) for the control class and Sig (0,927)> α (0,05) for the experimental class. Significance (Sig) Based on Mean was 0.358> 0.05, showing that the variance of the control class and the experimental class were the same or homogeneous. The t-value and the p-value were (2-tailed = 0.003)

Kebutuhan akan suatu media pembelajaran yang menarik dan efektif bagi Penyuluh Keluarga Berencana menuntut pengembangan media video tutorial yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab kebutuhan tersebut, yaitu bagaimana menghasilkan video tutorial Sistem Informasi Keluarga yang valid, praktis, dan efektif.  Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan Alessi dan Trollip yang terdiri dari tiga tahapan, yaitu tahap perencanaan, tahap desain, dan tahap pengembangan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, angket, observasi dan tes. Validitas video tutorial dilakukan dengan uji alpa oleh dua orang ahli untuk masing-masing aspek (materi, media, dan desain pembelajaran). Uji validasi  materi menghasilkan nilai 92,8 dan 100,0.  Uji validasi media diperoleh nilai 94,12 dan 100,0. Uji validasi desain pembelajaran diperoleh nilai 83,33 dan 100,0. Dapat diartikan dari nilai-nilai uji tersebut bahwa setelah dilakukan revisi produk maka seluruh aspek dinyatakan sangat valid.  Praktikalitas video tutorial diuji melalui uji beta dan diperoleh rerata nilai sebesar 80,67 yang berarti bahwa video tutorial termasuk kategori praktis. Efektifitas video tutorial terhadap hasil belajar diuji melalui uji lapangan (field test) pada kelas pelatihan, dimana diperoleh nilai rata-rata pre tes 47,53 dan post tes 81,70. Peningkatan hasil belajar sebesar 34,18 dengan Ngain skor sebesar 0,7 termasuk kategori tinggi. Dari hasil tes perbuatan diperoleh rerata nilai 83,23 yang termasuk kategori baik. Dengan demikian, video tutorial sistem informasi keluarga yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini telah valid, praktis, dan memiliki efektifitas terhadap hasil belajar Penyuluh Keluarga Berencana.The need for interesting and effective learning media for Planned Family Instructors requires the development of valid, practical, and effective tutorial video media. The objective of this research is to answer the challenge, i.e. how to produce a valid, practical, and effective Planned Family Information System tutorial video. This research is a development research applying Alessi and Trollip development model, consisting of three stages, namely: planning, designing, and development. Data are procured through interviews, questionnaires, observation, and tests. The validity of the tutorial video is tested by using alpa test by two experts for each aspect (material, media, and learning design). Material validity test results in the scores of 92.8 and 100.0. Media validation test indicates the scores of 94.2 and 100.0. The design validation test shows the scores of 83.33 and 100.0. Based on the scores, it can be interpreted – after the product is revised – that all aspects are very valid. The practicality of the tutorial video is tested by using beta test, and the average score is 80,67, which means that this tutorial video is categorized practical. The effectiveness of this tutorial video towards the learning outcomes is tested through field test in the training class, where the average pre-test score is 47,53 and the average post-test score is 81,70. An increase in learning outcomes of 34.17 with the Ngain score of 0.7 is categorized as high category. Based on the practicality test, the average score is 83,23, which is categorized in good category. Therefore, this Planned Family Information System tutorial video is valid, practical, and effective on the learning outcomes of Planned Family Instructors.

This study aims to find out: (1) How to increase the learning activities of students when using the learning method of Learning Start With a Question (LSQ) on social studies learning in class VII-A MTs Miftahu Jannah Palangka Raya, (2) Is there an increase in social studies learning outcomes students after using the learning method Learning Start With a Question (LSQ) in class VII-A MTs Miftahul Jannah Palangka Raya. The research method used in this study is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. The research subjects were class VII-A MTs Miftahul Jannah Palangka Raya with subjects as many as 24 students. Data collection techniques in this study used observation and tests. Data analysis techniques are based on the results of each learning process cycle. The results of this study are: (1) an increase in learning activities when using the Learning Start With a Question (LSQ) learning method for students of class VII-A MTs Miftahul Jannah Palangka Raya Tahun to be better, namely the score of learning activities of students in the first cycle Individuals have 15 students who get a score of = 75, and 9 students who score <75 with an average score of 2.67. Scores of learning activities of students in the second cycle there were 23 students who obtained a score of = 75, and 1 student who scored <75 with an average of 3.86, so that the learning activities of students in the second cycle had been categorized as good or already achieving indicators of success, (2) There is an increase in social studies learning outcomes after using the Learning Start With a Question (LSQ) learning method for students of class VII-A MTs Miftahul Jannah Palangka Raya. This can be seen from the data on student learning outcomes during the pre test obtaining an average value of 30.20 with completeness in classical 0%. Post test cycle I obtained an average score of 78.95 with completeness in classical 62.5%, and in cycle II increased with an average value of 90.41 with classical completeness 95.83%.

ABSTRACTThis study investigated to determine the effect of problem based on practical to the students’learning outcomes and science process skill on Solubility and Solubility Product Constant materials at grade XI of Science class, MAN 2 FILIAL Pontianak. Using pre experimental and one-group pretest post-test designs, this study employed grade XI students of Science class. The data collection technique used were measurement and observation. While the instruments utilized were pre-test, post-test, and science process skill test. The results of learning outcomes analysis of pretest, post-test, and science process skill test by using Wilcoxon (SPSS 17,0 for windos) and run with an alpha level of .05 (5%) revealed that this test rejected Ho and accepted Ha (P value (0,00) < (0,05). The Effect Size (ES) of learning outcomes was 3,53 and considered high. The Z table contributed significant influence of 49,98%. Furthermore, the Solubility Product Constant indicated 2,90 and considered high, as well. The Z table contributed significant influence of 49,81%. As a result there was correlation of problem based on practical to the students’ learning outcomes and science process skill on Solubility and Solubility Product Constant materials.Keywords: learning outcomes, problem based on practical to the students’ learning outcomes, science process skill

This study aims to describe the types of learning resources used previously at SMA N 3 Salatiga, describe the feasibility of Biomagz Based on Local Wisdom, and test the effectiveness of Biomagz Based on Local Wisdom on learning outcomes and student’s environmental care attitude. The method used is research development (R & D). Products are validated by material and media validators, and revised before being tested. Small-scale trials (readability test) use 10 students from class X MIPA 1, while large-scale trials use class X MIPA 2 with the experimental design Pre-experimental Design with the type of Pre-test and Post-test One Group Design. The results of the study show the variety of learning resources used previously including biological, teacher, internet, biology books, and the environment around students. The Feasibility of Biomagz Based on Local Wisdom obtained an average score of 92.21% with very decent criteria. Large-scale trials with an average N-gain value 0.49 in the medium category, the average classical completeness is 85.29%, and the environment care attitude of students is based on the observation result of 92.9% with a high category and the result of the inter-student assessment is 86, 18% with a high category. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that Biomagz Based Local Wisdom is well worth and effective on learning outcomes and student’s environmental care attitude.

This study aims to improve learning outcomes in English aspects of reading skill ability through the word by word pronunciation learning method. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were fourth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah 2 Parepare with a total of 10 people. The data collection technique of this research used observation, tests, and field notes. While the data analysis technique used descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the increase in learning for fourth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah 2 Parepare through pronunciation word by word is in the first cycle in the low category with an average score of 53.00, while in the second cycle there is an increase in the high category with an average value. average 85.00. In connection with these results, it can be concluded that the learning method of pronounciation word by word can improve learning outcomes of English aspects of reading skill ability for fourth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah 2 Parepare.

Objectives: To assess the improvement in the knowledge of hand hygiene in Pediatric residents and nurses after theoretical and hands-on educational intervention Methods: This study was a questionnaire‑based cross‑sectional survey carried out in the department of Pediatrics, King Edward Medical University/ Mayo hospital Lahore in two weeks period. Total 41 Pediatrics residents and nurses, participated in the study. Initially a pretest questionnaire was given to each participant, followed by an educational intervention: a day’s worth of didactic lectures and practical training of practices for infection control. After two weeks, an identical post-test questionnaire was sent to the participants via email. Data were statistically analyzed through SPSS 22. Z test was applied to see the normality of data while paired t test was applied to compare the pretest score with posttest score. Results: Of 41 participants who attended the workshop, 34 participants responded to post‑test giving an overall response rate of 83%. Out of 34, there were 27(80%) doctors and 7(20%) nurses, who participated in workshop. Each item of the questionnaire was analyzed, showing that pretest score for questions related to indication for hand washing, minimum timings required for hand rub, and spread of infection from unclean hands was quite low, as compared to post-test score, indicating statistically significant increment (p value 0.000, 0.001and 0.046 respectively). Mean pre-test score for doctors was 3.22 while for nurses, it was 3.14, whereas post-test score was 4.51 and 4.00 for doctors and nurses respectively. Overall, there was statistically significant increase in knowledge after educational intervention.
