Diabetes Mellitus patients are predicted to reach 592 million in 2035 (Indonesia to grow from 9.1 million in 2014 to 14.1 million in 2035). Traditional plants and spices are easily found within society, some of which are used to control blood sugar level, eg. cinnamon. Cinnamon was known for its effectiveness in controlling blood sugar level, both on healthy and people with Diabetes Mellitus. So that blood sugar level reduction effect using cinnamon is worth to consider as a medication for Diabetes Mellitus. The goal of this research is to learn if there will be a reduction in blood sugar level with cinnamon consumption in a short period. Design that is used in this research is quasi experimental study. Respondents are given a brew of 6 gr cinnamon powder and 100 ml of hot water. Blood sugar levels are measured before and after the given cinnamon brew. 52 respondents participated in this research. Statistical analysis used is the Wilcoxon test. Blood sugar level median before given cinnamon brew is 142,71±66,11 mg/dL, while 2 hours after given cinnamon brew, blood sugar level reduced to 113,97±54,95 mg/dL. There is a reduction in blood sugar level by 28,74 mg/dL (20,14%). Wilcoxon test result indicated that there is a significant correlation with p-value = 0,0001. It is concluded that consuming 6 gram of cinnamon powder could reduce blood sugar level after 2 hours of consumption. Keywords: blood sugar; cinnamon; diabetes melitusABSTRAKDiperkirakan penderita diabetes melitus akan meningkat mencapai 592 juta orang pada tahun 2035. Tanaman tradisional dan rempah-rempah mudah dijumpai di dalam masyarakat dan dapat dijadikan obat, beberapa diantaranya digunakan untuk mengontrol kadar gula darah, salah satunya adalah kayu manis. Kayu manis diketahui memiliki efektivitas dalam mengontrol gula darah, baik pada orang sehat maupun pada orang dengan diabetes melitus. Sehingga efek penurunan kadar gula darah dengan kayu manis patut dipertimbangkan sebagai pengobatan diabetes melitus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui apakah terjadi penurunan kadar gula darah sewaktu dengan Pemberian kayu manis dalam waktu yang cukup singkat. Desain yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah studi kuasi eksperimental. Responden diberikan seduhan serbuk kayu manis sebanyak 6 gram dalam air panas sebanyak 100 ml. Kadar gula darah sewaktu diukur sebelum dan setelah Pemberian seduhan kayu manis. Sebanyak 52 responden berpartispasi dalam penelitian ini. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah uji Wilcoxon. Rerata nilai gula darah sewaktu sebelum diberikan kayu manis adalah 142,71±66,11 mg/dL. Sedangkan rerata nilai gula darah sewaktu setelah 2 jam adalah sebesar 113,97±54,95 mg/dL. Terdapat penurunan nilai kadar gula darah sewaktu sebanyak 28,74 mg/dL (20,14%).  Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan dengan p-value = 0,0001. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian kayu manis dengan dosis 6 gram dapat menurunkan nilai kadar gula darah sewaktu setelah 2 jam pemberian.

ABSTRACT   Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that increased every year and caused many complications. There are four pillars in the management of DM, namely education, nutrition, pharmacology and physical training. According to PERKENI, physical exercise for people with DM can be done 3-4x/week with a duration of 30 minutes. This study aims to determine the effect of exercise moderate activities carried out by Diabetes Mellitus in Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang on blood sugar levels at a time. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a total sample of 30 people who were obtained by total sampling. The research data was taken by checking blood sugar before and after physical activity with aerobic type, which is done 1x/week for four weeks by using Easy Touch GCU. Wilcoxon test results found a p-value of 0.285 which means moderate exercise activities carried out by people with diabetes in Palembang Muhammadiyah Hospital which is carried out once a week for four weeks does not affect blood sugar levels at the time.

Penyakit Diabetes Melitus dapat menyebabkan komplikasi yang sangat berat. Komplikasi dari Diabetes Melitus ini meliputi jantung iskemik, serebrovaskuler, gagal ginjal, ulkus pada kaki, gangguan penglihatan. Komplikasi yang paling sering terjadi adanya perubahan patologis pada anggota gerak bawah yang disebut kaki diabetik. Salah satu jenis olahraga yang dianjurkan dengan diabetes mellitus adalah senam kaki. Senam kaki merupakan latihan yang dilakukan bagi penderita DM atau bukan penderita untuk mencegah terjadinya luka dan membantu melancarkan peredaran darah bagian kaki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh senam kaki terhadap kadar gula darah pasien diabetes mellitus. Desain dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasy Eksperiment dengan rancangan Pre and Post Test Without Control. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Consecutive sampling. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan instrument observasi senam kaki untuk menilai senam kaki, dan alat menilai kadar gula darah yaitu glucometer, kapas dan jarum. Rata-rata kadar gula darah sebelum dan setelah dilakukan senam kaki mengalami penurunan dan ada pengaruh kadar gula darah sebelum dengan sesudah dilakukan senam kaki pada pasien diabetes melitusKata Kunci: Senam Kaki, Kadar Gula Darah THE EFFECT OF GYMNASTIC FEET TOWARD THE BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL FOR THE DIABETICSDiabetes Mellitus causes the complication case. The complication often causes the changing of pathological in certain place such as feet. The one of recommended sport for diabetics is gymnastic feet. Gymnastic feet is an experience for diabetics or not in order to prevent the wound and launch the blood circulation. The research objective is to analyze the effect of gymnastic feet to blood sugar level for diabetics. The research design is using experiment quasy with pre and post test without control. It is using consecutive sampling as the sample of collecting technique, and using observation of gymnastic feet as the collecting data technique to assess the blood sugar level, those are glucometer, cotton, and needle. The average of blood sugar level is decrease after doing the gymnastic feet. ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus (DM) in Indonesia is better known as diabetes and in Timor Leste DM known as Ra'an Midar has become a very serious health problem, and is the most common endocrine disease. Diabetes mellitus is a degenerative disease that is characterized by metabolic disorders or pancreatic damage so that the pancreas is unable to produce enough insulin to the maximum so that it can cause insulin deficiency in the body both absolute and relative can increase blood sugar levels or hyperglycemia. Data from the Dili District Health Office in 2018 showed that there were 2690 patients with diabetes mellitus, so that diabetic foot exercises were needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Tetum Language Diabetes Foot Gymnastic Education on Lower Circulation and Lower Blood Sugar Levels at the Saude Comoro Center, Dili, Timor Leste. Method : using the Pre-Experiment method. Independent variable: Education of Tetum Language Diabetes Foot Gymnastics Education, dependent variable: Circulation of Lower Extremity and Blood Sugar Level at a Time. Population 100 people, sample 28 people, sample technique: simple random, data collection: Examination of blood sugar levels, blood circulation, statistical tests: Wilcoxon Test. Results : Most respondents who had good blood circulation were 15 pre- test (53.6%) and 18 post-test (64.3%). And the majority of respondents whose blood sugar levels were good were 14 people pre-test (50.0%) and 20 people post test (71.4%). Based on the results of statistical tests using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, the value of blood circulation is a significant level of 0.005 and the blood sugar level is at a significant level of 0,000. Conclusion : Conclusion there is the influence of Education on Tetun Language Diabetes Foot Gymnastics on Lower Extracurricular Circulation and Blood Sugar Levels At the Saude Comoro Center, Dili, Timor Leste.  Keyword: Leg exercise, lower extremity bloodd circulation, Blood sugar levels, Diabetes mellitus.

DM management that is more effective and efficient requires prevention and control programs that are on target. There are several risk factors associated with the incidence of DM, one of which is a behavioral factor. The behavior or lifestyle in question is eating habits. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of tempe consumption on blood sugar levels of DM sufferers in the exercise groups of women in the Talang Banjar Village, Jambi.The research method used was a quasi-experimental one group pre and post experience test. The population is group of gymnastics mothers of gymnastics mothers who suffer from diabetes mellitus, amounting to 6 people, using total sampling techniques, and analyzed using T Test.The analysis showed that there was no effect of tempe consumption with blood sugar levels with a p value (p value 0.201).Although the results of the study did not show any influence, it is likely that this was caused by several things such as the small number of samples, and it was not determined whether the N sample was a type 1 or type 2 diabetes sufferer. diabetes mellitus as a controller or helps control blood sugar levels in the body.

<p><strong>ABSTRACK</strong></p><p><em><strong>Background:</strong> High sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus causes changes in the body. One of its detrimental process called oxidation reaction that causes the increased formation of harmful substances called free radicals. Antioxidant vitamin A, C, and E helpful to reduce oxidative damage in people with diabetes mellitus and prevent complications.</em></p><p><em><strong> Objectives:</strong> The know relationship intake antioxidant with blood glocuse level outpatient type 2 diabetes mellitus in RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul Yogyakarta.</em></p><p><em><strong> Methods:</strong> This study was observasional with of cross sectional. The subjects in this study were outpatients with diabetes mellitus type 2 with sampels of 89 respondents. Purposive sampling technique. Data consumption pattern of antioxidant, used semi quantitative food frequency (SQFFQ) laboratories to examination and blood glucose levels. Data analysis used Fisher’s Exact Test. </em></p><p><em><strong>Results:</strong> There is significant association between vitamin C intake with blood sugar levels in patients diabetes mellitus the value of p = 0.004. The existence of a no signifi cant association between vitamin E intake with blood sugar levels in patients diabetes mellitus the value of p = 0.073 and there is no signifi cant association between vitamin A intake with blood sugar levels in patients diabetes mellitus the value of p = 0.252. </em></p><p><em><strong>Conclusion:</strong> There is a relationship between vitamin C intake with blood sugar levels, while the intake of vitamin A and E are not related to blood sugar levels</em></p><p><em><strong> KEYWORDS:</strong> type 2 diabetes mellitus, blood glucose level, vitamin C intake, vitamin A intake, vitamin E intake. </em></p><p><strong>ABSTRAK </strong></p><p><em><strong>Latar Belakang :</strong> Kadar glukosa yang tinggi pada penderita kencing manis/DM menyebabkan berbagai perubahan di dalam tubuh. Salah satu proses merugikan dinamakan reaksi oksidasi yang menyebabkan peningkatan pembentukan zat berbahaya yang disebut radikal bebas. Antioksidan vitamin A,C dan E bermanfaat dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah.</em></p><p><em><strong> Tujuan:</strong> Untuk mengetahui hubungan antara asupan antioksidan dengan kadar glukosa darah pada pasien rawat jalan DM tipe 2 di RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul Yogyakarta.</em></p><p><em><strong> Metode:</strong> Penelitian ini bersifat observasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah pasien rawat jalan diabetes melitus tipe 2 dengan jumlah sampel 89 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu purposive sampling. Data asupan antioksidan menggunakan semi quantitative food frequency (SQFFQ) dan hasil pemeriksaan laboratorium untuk kadar glukosa darah. The disease Diabetes or Madhumeha is well documented in all perennial sources of Ayurvedic wisdom. The present study was done to evaluate the efficacy of Bimbi (Coccinia indica) in the patients of Diabetes mellitus type-2 through single blind study. Total 30 patients were selected and divided into two groups, 15 patients in each group i.e., A (Bimbi) & B (Barley). In this study it has been found that Madhumeha affects not only in elderly people but in adults too with slight female preponderance. The present study confirmed that after the treatment of 60 days, Bimbi (Coccinia indica) was found effective in treatment of Madhumeha and reduced majority of the symptoms of illness that including Prabootha mootrata (Excessive urination), Atitrushna (Excessive thirst), Avila mootrata (Turbid urine) and Dourbalya (Weakness). There was significant improvement in all the laboratory parameters in patients of Bimbi (Coccinia indica) treated group. The outcome showed that mean reduction in fasting blood sugar level was 19.86%, in PP blood sugar level was 24.52% and in HbA1c level was 8.4%.These outcomes suggest that the results of trial drug i.e., Coccinia indica (Bimbi) powder was highly significant at p-value <0.001. The drug Bimbi showed effectiveness in reducing FBS, PPBS and HbA1c, as results were highly significant. Barley powder used as placebo didn't showed reduction in FBS, PPBS and HbA1c.

This study aims to determine the comparison of Tai Chi gymnastics and DM gymnastics to the decrease in blood sugar levels of type II DM patients in the Menjalin Health Center.The research design used was Quasi experiment with pre and post test group design approach, the sampling technique was done by purposive sampling with a sample of 16 respondents in Tai Chi gymnastics and 16 respondents in Diabetes Mellitus gymnastics. The results of the study using the Wilcoxon test in the Tai Chi group obtained p value = 0.000 <α = 0.05 and the results of the t-test paired sample test on diabetes mellitus gymnastic obtained p value = 0.000 <α = 0.05.The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that Tai Chi gymnastics and DM gymnastics are equally influential in decreasing blood sugar levels of type II diabetes mellitus patients, but judging from the difference in the decrease in blood sugar levels in Diabetes Mellitus exercise is more effective than Tai Chi exercises.  Keywords: Blood Sugar Levels, Diabetes Mellitus Gymnastics, Tai Chi Gymnastics

Educational activities is one strategy to the management of diabetes mellitus. Education is the activity of delivering health messages to groups or individuals in order to gain a better knowledge. The selected media is pocket books and leaflets, booklets chosen because it is simple, brief, and contains a lot of information. The purpose of this study to determine the effectiveness of the use of educational media pocket books and leaflets on knowledge and dietary compliance of outpatients with diabetes mellitus type 2 in the clinic. The research is a Quasi-Experiment with design used is Pretest-Posttest designnamely in the two groups conducted a pretest to determine the initial state before being given a different treatment, and both were also given the posttestusing the Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney test with a significance level of = 0.05. The results showed no significant differences in knowledge after being given nutrition education with media pocket books and leaflets p value. knowledge of 0,000 (Sig. <0.05), whereas the p values   obtained compliance. amounted to 0,641 (p. <0.05) showed no significant difference in adherence respondents after being given nutrition education with media pocket books and leaflets. It is concluded that there are differences in knowledge after being given nutrition education with media pocket books and leaflets. However there was no difference in compliance after being given nutrition education with media pocket books and leaflets.

 Background: Diabetes Mellitus is one of the degenerative diseases which is the highest morbidity by increasing 30,2 % from 2012 to 2013 in Surabaya. Low physical activity is suspected to be one factor of uncontrolled fasting blood sugar level of Diabetes Melitus patients. Objectives: Based on the problem, this study was conducted to analyze the relationship of physical activity with fasting blood sugar level of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patient in MulyorejoPublic Health Center Surabaya. Methods: This research used cross sectional design with a sample of 62 people. Data were collected using structured interview guide and IPAQ. Blood sampling using spectrophotometer method performed by medical analyst of laboratory of Mulyorejo Public Health Center. Analysis used was Spearman's Rho statistical test. Results: The results showed as many as 62.9% of respondents had low physical activity and as much as 58.0% of respondents had fasting blood sugar levels in the high category. The results showed there was a correlation between physical activity with fasting blood sugar level of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patient. Conclusion: Theconclusion of this research there was relationship between physical activity with fasting blood glucose level of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patient. We recommend that people with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus apply good physical activity such as cycling  or walking routinely 3-4 days a week for 20 minutes each day and reduce sitting activity so that fasting blood sugar levels can be controlled.ABSTRAK Latar belakang: Diabetes Mellitus merupakan salah satu penyakit degeneratif yang masih tinggi di kota Surabaya dengan peningkatan kasus dari tahun 2012 ke tahun 2013 sebesar 30,2 %. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 62 orang. Pengumpulan data dengan panduan wawancara terstruktur dan IPAQ. Pengambilan sampel darah dengan metode spektrofotometer yang dilakukan oleh analis medis laboratorium Puskesmas Mulyorejo. Analisis dilakukan dengan uji statistik Spearman’s Rho. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 62,9 % responden memiliki aktivitas fisik rendah dan sebanyak 58,0 % responden memiliki kadar gula darah puasa dalam kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan antara aktivitas fisik dengan kadar gula darah puasa penderita Diabetes Melitus tipe 2 (p=0,000). Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan antara aktivitas fisik dengan kadar gula darah puasa penderita Diabetes Melitus tipe 2. Sebaiknya bagi penderita Diabetes Melitus tipe 2 dapat menerapkan aktivitas fisik yang baik seperti rutin bersepeda atau jalan kaki 3-4 hari dalam seminggu selama 20 menit setiap harinya dan mengurangi aktivitas duduk supaya kadar gula darah puasa terkontrol.
