Laparotomy is one of the major surgeries. Laparotomy is an operative technique that can be performed on digestive and urinary sistem disorders that will cause pain. This study aims to determine thes effects of kinesio taping on the level of pains in post laparotomy patients. The methods of this study use a pre-post and control group quasi experimental design research. Consisting of the intervention group and the control group, the number of sample was 24 samples with 12 respondent in the kinesio taping installation intervention group and 12 respondent in the control group giving standar drug, using a simple random sampling technique. Dependent t-test obtained an average difference of 2.08 in the control group while ansaveragesdifferencesof 3.84 insthe intervention group. Independent T test results obtained P value (0.001)<(0.05). The conclusion there was assignificant difference in the level of pain in the kinesio taping intervention group and the control group that did not have kinesio taping. Variable confounding has been performed statistically. The results shows that here is no relationships between age, attitude and belief in the pain of Laparotomy, while age is related to post-Laparotomy pain, kinesio taping can be used as an independent nursing intervention to reduce the intensity of pain in post-Laparotomy patients.

Diabetes is a long-term (chronic) disease in which the body cannot regulate the amount of sugar in the blood. Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), a microvascular complication of diabetes, is associated with considerable mortality, morbidity and diminished quality of life. The aim of this study is to measure effect of Neurodynamic techniques on weight bearing asymmetry of lower extremity in diabetic neuropathic patients. Method: - We have screened 35 patients and out of that 28 were fullled the inclusion criteria that deemed t as a sample. However, 20 patients were randomly selected as subjects using simple random sampling technique (Lottery method). In the subject experimental (A=10) patients were treated by sciatic nerve mobilization with conventional physical therapy. In the control (B=10), only conventional physical therapy was applied to diabetic neuropathy patients and both group assess weight bearing by foot print and ROM (exion and extension). Group A and B were treated 5 days a week for 4weeks. The m RESULT: ean differences in Clarke's Angel, ChippauxSmirak and Staheli indexes at left and right sides of diabetic neuropathy patient of experimental group between pre and post administration of modality were statistically highly signicant (p<0.001). Conclusion: Sciatic nerve mobilization with conventional physical therapy was more effective for lower limb function than conventional physical therapy alone in patient with diabetic neuropathy patients

AbstractOsteoarthritis (OA) pain is associated with peripheral and central sensitization in humans and results in widespread increased sensitivity across the body. Sensitization contributes to the OA-associated pain (OAP) state. We recently identified increased levels of an endogenous neurotrophic factor, artemin (ARTN), in dogs with OAP compared to healthy pain-free controls. Circulating ARTN released from damaged tissues in OA, may play a central role in widespread sensitivity and pain. However, the relationship between ARTN and somatosensory sensitivity remains unknown. The study aimed to assess the relationship between serum ARTN concentrations and measures of sensitivity in dogs with OAP using quantitative sensory testing. We hypothesized that there would be a positive association between circulating ARTN and increased sensitivity to mechanical and thermal stimuli in dogs with OAP. We used linear and logistic regression models to assess the relationship between ARTN, sensitization, and pain within a cohort of 43 dogs with spontaneous OAP. Serum ARTN was not associated with the degree of sensitization within dogs with OAP. Further, across dogs with varying OAP severity, we did not find any association between ARTN, and clinical measures of joint pain and disability. Although a relationship between ARTN and joint pain was not ruled out.

Birth weight is one factor of neonates that can cause asphyxia neonatorum and is one indicator ofthe health of the newborn. The result of Riskesdas 2013 explained the low birth weight infants is 10.2% and WHO data shows every year about 3% of 120 million newborn have asphyxia. This study aims to analyze the correlation of low birth weight infants with neonatorum asphyxia incidence in dr. Iskak Tulungagung Hospital year 2016. This study was executed on July 18 to 19 2017 in dr.Iskak Tulungagung Hospital. The type research used analytical survey with correlational design and retrospective cohort study. Independent variable was low birth weight infants and dependent variable was neonatorum asphyxia. The population was 949 and sample was 162 with Simple Random Sampling technique, and used medical record instruments. From the 162 samples, found that almost half of respondents were 46.9% experienced low birth weight infants and almost all of the respondents were 88.3% experienced asphyxia neonatorum. Based on chi square test obtained (p)=0.001<(α)=0,05 and C=0,257, it means there is significant correlation between low birth weight infants and asphyxia with low correlation neonatorum. Odds ratio is 9,116, it means that risk of asphyxia neonatorum at low birth weight infants is 9.116 times great than normal birth weight infant. At the low birth weight infants a lot of risk of problems in the body because immaturity of organ system, so easily attacked by complications such as an asphyxia neonatorum.

Abstract The management of federal universities in Nigeria has not taken the issue of students’ housing provision as a priority. Hence, demand for on-campus housing accommodations far exceeds the supply and this resulted in the majority of the students living in private residences characterised by poor facilities. This study, therefore, assessed the housing quality and facilities in the undergraduate student’s hostels at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria to investigate its suitability for learning and research. A simple random sampling technique was used for the study. Data were collated from both primary and secondary sources. The data collected were analysed using frequency tables and weighted mean scores for estimating the Housing Quality Indices (HQI) according to a 5-point Likert scale. The academic performance of the occupants before and after moving to the university hostel was equally investigated using a regression analysis to test if a relationship exists among the housing quality, the quality of facilities provided and the academic performances of the students. The result revealed a positive relationship between the academic performance of the students and the quality of housing facilities. A comprehensive maintenance programme of the students’ accommodation within the university campus is recommended for higher academic performance. The study contributes to the body of knowledge in academic performance of students, developing and managing students’ accommodation quality at higher education institutions.
