Background: This study evaluates the effect of assertiveness training on alexithymia and self-differentiation in the city of Mashhad, in Iran, about runaway girls. Method: The sample consists of 24 girls (12-20 years old) The tools used in the study were: assertion questionnaire Rathus, self-differentiation scale of DSI and the Toronto alexithymia scale. The study is applied as a Quasi-experimental design with the unequal control group. The plan is similar to the control groups pretest and post-test. Results: Significance indexes Multivariate analysis (f=158.029, p<0.001) indicates that there are changes in alexithymia and self- differentiation with assertiveness training. The average assertion scores in the post-test had increased strongly (M=58.00). As well, the average self-differentiation score of the experimental group had a significant increase. The experimental group also had lower average scores of alexithymia. Conclusions: The results of the research showed that assertiveness training has a significant change in alexithymia and self-differentiation. It should be noted that the participants had run away from home due to various reasons relating to high levels of alexithymia and low levels of self-differentiation and assertiveness. During this training course, the girls with learning assertiveness made changes in the self-differentiation and alexithymia (M=196.00) (M=47).

This quasi-experimental study aimed to assess the effects of a music and writing program on lexical spelling in Grade 2 elementary school students. A music and writing program was developed and tested in an experimental group ( n = 24) comprising a Grade 2 class in a French-language elementary school in Québec (Canada). Another Grade 2 class at the same school served as a control group ( n = 23). Both groups were assessed for lexical spelling in January and May. Group comparison of the post-test results on performance and progress in lexical spelling showed significantly better scores for the experimental over the control group.

One of the topics students have understanding difficulties in science is pressure. The study investigates the effectiveness of an active-learning environment on the students' understanding of the concept of pressure. The sample consisted of 30 students from a public secondary school in Turkey. This study used a pre-test, post-test, quasi-experimental research design with a control group. Ten lessons were conducted with both groups. The control group was taught using the coursebook's two activities, while the experimental group was taught using additional activities and models. After the treatment, a post-test was given to both groups to determine the active-learning environment's effectiveness on the students' understanding of the concept of pressure. Interviews were also conducted with the experimental group. The post-test results showed a significant difference in favor of the experimental group. It was determined that students in both groups had misunderstandings of the topic before and after instruction. The interviews showed that the experimental group students perceive that the active learning environment facilitated better and easier learning. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the active learning environment was more effective for the students in the experimental group to learn about the concept of pressure.

Obesity is a multifactorial disease suspected that most obesity is caused by it interaction between genetic factors and environmental factors, including physical activity, lifestyle, and nutrisional ie feeding behavior and solid feeding is too early in infants. Obesity or overweight is troubling problems among teenagers. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of physical activity against weight loss adolescents who are obese in the city of Makassar. Type of research in This study was a quasi experimental pre-post test. The sample in this study consists of cases and controls, the sample of cases that amounted to 17 people, control samples that amounted to 17 people. The result of nomality test is obtained the intervention group's pretest-postest interval was 0.571 (p> 0.05), significant value for pretest-postest control group was 0.115 (p> 0.05), p intervention group value was 0.000 (p <0.05) and p value of control group is 0.000 (p <0.05), meaning that both groups are not homogeneous (no difference) weight body at pretest-postest. paired t test results showed that there is influence of physical activity (gymnastics aerobic) in the intervention group on adolescent weight loss with p value 0.045 (p <0.05) and value t count (2.170)> t table (17.05) is 1.730, in the control group there is no influence on Weight loss in adolescents as it obtained p value 0.230 (p> 0.05) and t value count (1.246) <t table (17: 0.05) is 1.730. Can be summarized in outline of this study there is influence weight loss adolescents in the intervention group or those given aerobic exercise, while for the control group there is no effect on weight loss.

The objective of this study is to find out the effect of using mobile access (Audio Visual Easy Learn English) on students’ vocabulary achievement at SMPN 11 Kendari. Mobile  Access  (Audio  visual  easy  learn  English)  as  a media in learning teaching process. This research used quasi experimental design, the population is all seventh- grade students, and the sample is class VII1 as the experimental group and VII2as control group. The experimental group consisted of 30 students and control group consisted of 21 students. The research instrument consisted of 44 questions of vocabulary test. To collect the data, the researcher gave pre-test, taught by using Mobile Access  (Audio  Visual  Easy  Learn  English),  and  giving post-test. Mean score of post-tests (79.63) in experimental class is higher than pre-test score (59.66). While, in control class also has improvement but not too significant. It can be seen on post-test score (64.80) is higher than pre-test score (55.19). Based on the calculation of T-test, it shows that tcount = 3.775, while t-table =2.010 at level of = 0.05 with DF = 49. It means that tcount is higher than table, Therefore H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. This can be concluded that  there  was a  significant  effect  of  using a significant effect using Mobile Access (Audio Visual Easy Learn English) on students’ vocabulary achievement at the seventh-grade students of SMPN 11 Kendari. Keywords: MA, Mobile Access, Audio Visual Easy Learn English, vocabulary achievement

The aim of this study was to know the effectiveness of the use of alphabet cards game as interesting tool to explain vocabularies and it make it easier to remember their meanings. This study belongs to the quasi experimental research and presents pre-test, post test and to investigate the effect of using alphabet cards game on vocabulary mastery of commercial business administration students. The participants were the students from commercial business administration students at the third semester (N=54) of State Polytechnic Bengkalis and divided into two groups. Both groups were taught vocabulary, however, the experimental group students who are exposed to alphabet cards game and the controlled group students who received conventional method. Pre-test and post-test were given to both experimental group students and controlled group students. The score of the vocabulary tests were compared through independent sample t-test. The mean value of pre-test of experimental class was 61.35, while the control class was 52.23. After learning using alphabet card games in experimental class the mean value obtained in post-test was 78.85, while in control class was 59.04.  The improved of learning outcomes can be seen from the level of significance was 0.000 and it was lower than t test 0.000<0.05.  It means that the hypothesis null is not accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the score of the students in learning vocabulary between the experimental group and control group was significantly different. The experimental group students who learned vocabulary using alphabet cards game had increased their vocabulary mastery.

The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the cooperative learning model type student team's achievement division has on basketball shoot lay-up skills. The research method used in this research is a quasi-experimental method. The type of research design used was the non-equivalent group design. The population in this study were students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Majalengka in 2019 totaling 424 students. The sampling technique used in this study was cluster random sampling technique. The sample in this study amounted to 214 students consisting of class XI IPS 1-4 and XI MIPA 7-8. The experimental group class XI IPS 1-2 and XI MIPA, control group class XI IPS 3-4 and XI MIPA 8. The results showed that the mean pre-test lay-up shoot of the experimental group was 4.09 while the control group was 3.92. The mean post-test shoot lay-up of the experimental group was 6.76 while the control group was 4.72. Furthermore, by looking at 95% confidence interval of the difference, there is a difference between the shoot lay-up results of the experimental group and the control group, which is -0.190 to 2.412. Thus, it can be concluded that STAD is effective in improving basketball shoot lay-up skills.

Making connections between the representations of trigonometric functions and an interpretation of graphs of the functions are major challenges to many students. This study explores the effectiveness of the GeoGebra on grade 12 students’ success in making connections between the representations of trigonometric functions and the interpretation of graphs. A non-equivalent control-group pre-test post-test quasi-experimental design was used. The sample of the study consisted of sixty-one grade 12 students from two schools. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean achievements of the experimental group and the control group on making connections between representations of trigonometric functions, and on analyses and interpretations of representations of trigonometric functions, in favour of the experimental group. This study extends the findings of previous studies on the effectiveness of dynamic mathematics software on students’ learning of representations and interpretation of graphs of trigonometric functions.            Keywords: GeoGebra, functions graphs, Trigonometric functions

ABSTRACT This research was carried out to know the effectiveness of implementing KWL strategy to improve students’ reading comprehension of report text and to know whether there is a significant achievement difference between students who were taught with KWL strategy and those who were not. The instrument used was a multiple choice reading comprehension test. Seventy two eleventh graders of SMA Negeri 1 Bae Kudus were selected as the sample. They were divided equally into experimental and control group. The data collection involved pre-test, treatments, and post-test. The result of the implementation of KWL strategy in the experimental group improved the students’ participation, motivation, and interest during teaching and learning process. In addition, the results of pre-test and post-test showed that mean score of the experimental group had a higher increase from 74.58 to 90.97 than the control group (from 72.77 to 87.77). However, the Independent Sample Test showed there was no significant achievement difference between the students who were taught with KWL strategy and those who were not. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan three corner drill terhadap kelincahan dan power otot tungkai. Jenis penelitian adalah quasi experimental dengan rancangan the non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan siswa putra peserta ektrakurikuler sepak bola SMPN 2 Pekutatan. Data post-test kelincahan dan power otot tungkai pada kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol dianalisis dengan uji-t independent pada taraf signifikansi (α) 0,05 dengan bantuan program SPSS 16.0. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t independent didapatkan hasil : (1) untuk variabel kelincahan, hasil perbandingan kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol didapatkan nilai thitung = -2,948 , dengan nilai signifikansi 0,009, (2) untuk variabel power, hasil perbandingan kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol didapatkan nilai thitung = 3,176, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,005. Nilai signifikansi hitung lebih kecil dari nilai α (Sig < 0,05), dengan demikian hipotesis penelitian “pelatihan three corner drill berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kelincahan dan power otot tungkai pada siswa putra peserta ektrakurikuler sepak bola SMPN 2 Pekutatan” diterima. Dari hasil analisis data dan pembahasan disimpulkan bahwa : (1) Pelatihan three corner drill berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kelincahan pada siswa putra peserta ektrakurikuler sepak bola SMP Negeri 2 Pekutatan (2) Pelatihan three corner drill berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan power otot tungkai pada siswa putra peserta ektrakurikuler sepak bola SMP Negeri 2 Pekutatan. The type of research was a quasi-experimental and the design of research was the non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were man’s student football extracurricular participants of SMPN 2 Pekutatan. Agility and muscle power of legs posttest to the treatment group and the control group were analyzed by independent t-test at significance 0,05 with SPSS 16.0. Based on independent t-test results were showed : (1) to the agility variable, the comparison of the treatment and the control group values obtained t = -2,948, with a significance value of 0,009, (2) to muscle power of legs variable, the comparison of the treatment and the control group values obtained t = 3,176, with a significance value of 0,005. Calculated significance value smaller than the value of 0,05 (Sig < 0.05), thus the research hypothesis "three corner drill training affect the increased agility and muscle power of legs in football extracurricular participants of SMPN 2 Pekutatan " was received. From the analyzed and discussion were concluded that : (1) three corner drill training effect the increased agility in football extracurricular participants of SMPN 2 Pekutatan, (2) three corner drill training effect the increased muscle power of legs in football extracurricular participants of SMPN 2 Pekutatan. keyword : Agility, power, three corner drill

<p>The purpose of this study is to obtain a profile of students’ creative thinking skills on quantitative project-based protein testing using local materials. Implementation of the research is using quasi-experimental method pre-test post-test control group design with 40 students involved in Biochemistry lab. The research instrument is pre-test and post-test using creative thinking skills in the form of description and students’ questionnaire. The analysis was performed with SPSS 22.0 program to see the significance normality, U Mann-Whitney test for nonparametric statistics, N-Gain score, and the percentage of student responses to the practicum performed. The research result shows that the pretest rate in the experimental group is 8.25 while in the control group is 6.90. After attending a project-based practicum with local materials, the experimental group obtained the mean of posttest is 37.55 while in control class is 11.18. The students’ improvement on creative thinking skills can be seen from the average of N-Gain in the experimental class with 0.32 (medium category) and in the control category with 0.05 (low category). The experimental and control class have different creative thinking skills significantly different fluency, flexibility, novelty, and detail. It can be concluded that quantitative project-based protein testing using local materials can improve students’ creative thinking skills. 71% of total students feel that quantitative project-based protein testing using local materials make them more creative in doing a practicum in the laboratory.</p>
