The article presents a theoretical analysis of the problematic of the peculiarities of personality coping strategies in psychological research. Family is an important external factor that influences the formation of a person's coping behavior in situations of shock. On the one hand, the child's coping behavior can be viewed as a result of negative influence from the parents, on the other hand, as a result of the mastering of coping behavior patterns demonstrating by the parents. It was determined that the adaptive behavior of students in difficult life situations predetermines the effectiveness of adaptation to new living conditions, directly affects academic performance, professional development and personal formation. An important practical task is to prepare student youth for the effective use of coping strategies in future professional activities, because coping is part of the structure of personal potential. It is precisely the purposeful formation of effective coping behavior in the learning process at HEI that should take into account the conditions of the student's upbringing (in complete and incomplete families). It has been empirically investigated that the structure of the family influences the choice of coping strategies of students in stressful situations. Child-parent relations affect the formation of a child's overcoming behavior system through the formation and development of such behavioral strategies and personality traits in him, which subsequently mediate their preference for certain coping strategies. The influence of the upbringing of both parents on the formation of coping behavior models in children is very significant. A significant role in the choice of coping strategies is played by the upbringing of a child in an incomplete family, somewhat less - for orphaned students.

The article is devoted to the psychological peculiarities of the manifestation of coping-resources of educators. The teaching profession belongs to the category of professions especially vulnerable to stress, since the teacher has to solve various professional tasks in the absence of time and information, constant open contact with people, which entails considerable emotional energy. The professional activity of a modern teacher requires constant and maximum mobilization of their personal resources. Maintaining or enhancing a person's stress resistance is associated with finding and using resources well enough to help the educator overcome the negative effects of stressful situations. The article reveals such characteristics of personality and social environment that facilitate or make possible adaptation to life stresses, promotes the development of a means of overcoming it, and increases stress resistance. These personal structures help a person cope with threatening circumstances and facilitate adaptation. The author analyzes the scientific and psychological approaches to understand personal resources, determinants of the choice of coping-strategies, and the influence of the characteristics of professional activity on the behavior of the individual. Questions about structure, functions, and types of coping behavior are raised. According to the majority of modern researchers, the generalized classification of the methods of mastering stressful circumstances is analyzed: coping aimed at evaluation; problem-oriented coping; coping aimed at emotions. Also presented were the most up-to-date and most modern models of coping resources, which can be viewed from different angles to look at the choice of coping-resources by the personality of the teacher, taking into account the conditions of his professional activity. The organization and methods of conducted research of the features of manifestation of coping-resources in teachers are described. The presented quantitative and qualitative results are disclosed according to the stages of the study. In particular, the analysis of teacher’s coping-strategies depending on the level of emotional burnout, ways of overcoming difficult life situations, as well as the methods of coping-behavior of the respondents. Relationships between teachers' coping-resources and emotional and mental stress as well as the monotony of professional activities are also identified. Adaptive and non-adaptive coping behaviors are differentiated in terms of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral coping strategies are analyzed separately. Based on the theoretical analysis of the scientific literature and empirical research, the author substantiates the relevant conclusions and recommendations for school educators on the effective use of their own coping resources.

Introduction. The choice of coping behavior strategies is a factor in increasing the efficiency of professional activities of educators. Despite the large number of publications on this topic, there is a lack of research on teachers’ choice factors regarding coping strategies. The authors suggest that the choice of coping strategies is determined not only by the teaching experience, but also by the special subject a teacher has to teach. Materials and Methods. The methods, used in the study are the following: Ways of Coping by R. Lazarus and S. Folkman and Questionnaire by E. Heim. The survey group was 475 teaching employees with various lengths of teaching experience and teaching specialities. For statistical processing, MANOVA, the Kruskal-Wallis H-test, and the χ² criterion were used. Results. In the course of analysis of variance, it was found that the choice of preferred coping strategies depends not only on the length of teaching experience, but also on the speciality area taught. This refers to both specific strategies (Distancing, Self-control and Positive Revaluation) and productive, relatively productive and unproductive strategies in general. Based on the severity of coping behavior strategies, two groups of pedagogical workers were identified: with a more evident (preschool educators, psychologists and subject teachers) and less evident (primary school teachers and teachers of additional education) coping strategies. Discussion and Conclusion. The specificity of the choice of both productive and unproductive strategies for coping behavior is determined not only by the length of teaching experience, but also by the specialization taught. The authors have highlighted coping strategies that are most typical for various groups of teaching staff. The results obtained can be useful for educational psychologists who provide psychological support for teams of educational organizations. The revealed specificity of coping behavior of teaching staff can serve as a basis for the development of preventive measures to offset professional burnout.

Aim. To study the coping behavior of persons in a pre-trial detention facility in order to identify groups at risk of psychological maladjustment. Methods. The survey method and the Heims methodology for diagnosing of the coping strategies were used. Results. It was found that non-adaptive and relatively adaptive behavioral and cognitive coping strategies prevail over adaptive ones in all the comparison groups. In all groups, the greatest number of maladaptive coping was found in the emotional sphere. The presence of adaptive cognitive coping is associated with a negative attitude to ones offense, maladaptability of behavioral coping is associated with aggression, and emotional coping is associated with the use of psychoactive substances. The adaptability of behavioral strategies is associated with the presence of experience of the institutional confinement. It is established that newly arrived prisoners are at risk of psychological maladjustment, and prisoners who are held in common prisons rooms have high indices of coping adaptability. Conclusions. The surveyed comparison groups differ in the targets of psychological correction. The risk groups for developing mental maladjustment are newly arrived prisoners.

The article deals with the concept of “loneliness” and provides a modern view on the problem of studying the phenomenon. The data of an empirical study on the experience of loneliness and coping behavior in adults is presented. The study involved 256 respondents aged 21 to 73, including 153 women and 103 men. Most of the participants live in Vyborg, Leningrad Region (65.2%). The participants in the study are representatives of different professional environments (university teachers, schools, gymnasiums, medical workers, engineers, civil servants), 216 people have a higher education. It was hypothesized that there may be types of attitudes towards loneliness, differing in the level of severity of the characteristics of the phenomenon, and these types can be regulated in different ways by coping behavior. Also, it was suggested that sociotropism acts as a resource in the experience of loneliness, and problem-oriented coping strategies act as predictors of sociotropy. The research design included the following methods: Differential Loneliness Experience Questionnaire by E.N.Osin and D.A.Leontyev (DOPO-3k); Scale of social and emotional loneliness (SELSA-S) as adapted by O.Yu. Strizhitskaya et al.; Scale of psychological well-being by K.Riff as adapted by E.G.Troshikhina and L.V.Zhukovskaya (short version); Satisfaction with Life Scale E.Dinner; Coping test by R.La- zarus, Scale “Sociotropy — Self-sufficiency”; questionnaire. Four types of attitudes towards loneliness were identified, which differ in the severity of the characteristics of loneliness and their ratio: “adaptive”, “dependent”, “coping”, “self-sufficient”. The differences in the regulation of behavior among respondents with different types of attitudes to loneliness are shown, the structure of the relationship between coping strategies and the characteristics of loneliness is determined. The contribution of problem-oriented strategies to reducing the level of the feeling of loneliness is shown and the ambiguous contribution of the “self-control” strategy to the experience of general loneliness and social-emotional loneliness, depending on the type of experience of the studied phenomenon. As an indirect result, it is indicated that sociotropy can act as a resource in situations when loneliness is experienced.

Psychotechnologies for preventing destructive coping strategies are important not only for employees of the moral and psychological support unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, but also for the leaders and employees of internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation who are interested in their psychological health and in effectively solving the tasks facing the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Despite the fact that a significant amount of research by both foreign and domestic scientists is devoted to the study of personality coping, comprehensively preventive work to prevent and correct destructive coping strategies is not carried out. The formation of destruction in coping behavior is characteristic of the professional activities of law enforcement officers, the most prone to this psychological phenomenon, are leaders. Destructions in the coping behavior of employees of the internal affairs bodies are a consequence of the state of emotional, mental and psychophysical exhaustion, determined by the conditions of professional activity, excessive workload and emotional interpersonal communication. Coping behavior is of a destructive nature and adversely affects the professional activities of the policeman and his personality. To prevent and correct the destruction in coping behavior, the heads and employees of the internal affairs bodies offer an algorithm of psychotechnological actions in the article.

The article offers a source study of the letter of the head of the Financial Department at the Siberian Revolutionary Committee F. A. Zemit to the People's Commissar of Finance of the RSFSR N. N. Krestinsky. Its text analysis clears up the issue of creation of Soviet regional governing bodies in the financial–economical sphere in Siberia at the final stage of the Civil War. The published source allows to outline major impediment to restoration of the Soviet finance system in Siberia after the Civil War: shortage of financial workers, their low professional qualifications, lack of regulatory documentation for organizing activities, etc. Key methods used in the study are biographical and problematic/chronological. Biographical method allows to interpret the document and to link it with professional activities of F. A. Zemit in Omsk. The problematic/chronological method allows to trace the developments in regional finance and to understand their causes by placing them into historical framework. The letter was written by F. A. Zemit in early January 1920 – at a most difficult time in his career in Siberia. The author considers this ego-document unique and revealing in its way. On the one hand, it is an official appeal of an inferior financial manager to the head of the People's Commissariat of Finance; its content is practical and no-nonsense. On the other hand, its style indicates a warm friendly and trusting relationship between the sender and the addressee; F. A. Zemit was, apparently, able to report personally to the People's Commissar of Finance of the RSFSR on the difficult situation in the region and to do so with great frankness. This publication may be of interest to scholars in history of Russian finance, Russia Civil War, Soviet society, and Siberia of the period.

Aim. The aim of the paper was the substantiation the directions of correction the emotional state of the family environment of the family members of dangerous professions on the basis of biobehavioral therapy using biofeedback technology. Methods. 47 women were examined (29.34.7 years) wives of employees whose professional activities are related to solving professional problems in extreme conditions. The hardware and software complex BOS-Pulse with the Pulse module with game plots, Multipsychometer was used. According to the pulse recorded by the photoplethysmographic method, a spectral analysis of heart rate variability was carried out using a program for processing data from game biocontrol. The control of efficiency was carried out according to the functional parameters of the cardiovascular system and indicators of the color choice test. Results. By the end of the training, all women had mastered the skill of increasing RR-intervals. The value of the stress index of Baevskys regulatory systems during the course of biobehavioral therapy decreased from 73.217.8 to 56.825.4, the index of vegetative balance from 132.729.2 to 84.545.2. According to the test of color choices, a pronounced deepening of positive tendencies in terms of psychological indicators was noted, which, in general, was expressed in a significant decrease in anxiety and fatigue with a simultaneous increase in working capacity and indicators of the vegetative coefficient. Conclusions. Correctional trainings with the use of biocontrol technology led to an improvement in personal adaptive characteristics, the formation and consolidation of the conditioned reflex skill of self-regulation and a corrective behavioral stereotype that promotes activation of the bodys reserve capabilities. The effective behavioral strategies of self-regulation developed by women contributed to the training of productive techniques for counteracting stressors associated with the specifics of husbands professional activities and, accordingly, with the family microclimate.

In the world that promotes consumerism, companies are in a competition to produce a variety of commodities and to convert people into consumers of their products whether they need them or not. The abundance of consumer products is promoted through advertisements. These advertisements persuade the common people to become consumers for which they use a variety of strategies, the most common being the use of problem-solution format in language and an effective use of the verbal and the non-verbal. This paper focuses on investigating the verbal and the non-verbal aspects of the text to examine how ideological constructs function in the discourse of advertisingthrough the use of hegemony. A perfume advertisement has been selected for a detailed analysis of the verbal and the visual elements to illustrate how advertisers commonly attempt to transmit some underlying, yet unasserted, meanings to unsuspecting readers who may understand the intentions of the advertisers i.e. to promote consumption but may not understand that the aim is achieved by generally promoting cultural stereotypes which work towards the disadvantage of one social group vis-à-vis the other especially the one that the advertisement is addressed to. The tool for the analysis of the advertisement is Fairclough’s model of critical discourse analysis (CDA) that uses the analysis of the verbal and the visual to reveal ideological underpinnings. CDA also has pedagogical implications for instance the language used for describing products, if analysed critically by language learners, helps them to unfold the hidden meanings as is illustrated through the analysis. The article discusses the dependence on online computer games as a kind of addic- tive behavior, analyzing different viewpoints of researchers. The author represents the results of empirical studies of personality and behavioral characteristics of players, which enable to detect statistically significant differences in characteristics such as locus of control (internality / externality) and coping behavior. In the group of players internality level was lower than in the control group, and the frequency of selection of coping strategy avoidance was higher. Moreover, the author found out the correla- tion between these parameters: the level of internality is negatively correlated with the frequency of selection of avoidance strategies. These data indicate that the one of the basic factors, which forms addictive behavior, in particular, addiction to com- puter online games, is the consciousness of the degree of responsibility for one’s live, of opportunities to influence its course. These results open new perspectives for further study of the problem of computer and Internet addiction. In addition to empirical data, obtained as a result of the author's research, the article analyses well-known theoreti- cal concepts and practical work in the field of Internet addiction, coping behavior and locus of control.

In 2020, the world faced the COVID-19 pandemic. Medical workers who are fighting for the lives and health of patients in the "red zones" were on the front line in this struggle. The huge level of responsibility, the increasing duration of shifts, difficult working conditions, fears for their health and the health of their loved ones, and many other factors determined the fact that doctors themselves began to need support for their physical and psychological well-being. The purpose of our work was to study the level of perceived stress in the context of the features of coping strategies in medical professionals with different practical experience (students, practicing doctors) in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic. The total number of study participants was 59 people, including 35 experienced medical workers aged 33 to 72 years (M=47,88; SD=9,44) and 24 medical students aged 20 to 29 years (M=24,16; SD=3,21) without professional experience, but who voluntarily went to work in the "red zones" during the pandemic. As a result of the study, data were obtained on high levels of perceived stress and overstrain by medical professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is especially pronounced in students. The differences between experienced doctors and medical students were revealed according to the criterion of their preference for certain coping strategies, namely, the predominance of "Escape–avoidance" coping among students. The connection of dominant coping behavior strategies with the level of perceived stress is also established: students who resort to confrontational coping experience a higher level of perceived stress, and a decrease in their level of overexertion is associated with a greater degree of self-control strategy. Experienced doctors do not have both of these connections.
