The paper is devoted to the study of the associative relations of the lexemes PEACE and WAR. The aim of the work is to reveal the cultural component of the associative fields of the stimulus words PEACE and WAR. Due to the object of study (the associative connections of stimuli PEACE and WAR in the linguistic consciousness of humanities students) we consider the usage of associative psycholinguistic experiment to be the most appropriate, because the object cannot be observed directly. The paper outlines the methodological grounds for such study. The material for the article was the associative reactions obtained during the experiment with humanities students. On the basis of the received data the quantitative, mathematical and qualitative analyses of semantic content of associative fields of stimuli PEACE and WAR are realized. The analysis showed that the mutual influence of culture and language is reflected in the associative content of these stimuli, and hence in the linguistic consciousness in which such connections are contained. It is concluded that students receive certain cultural codes from the experience of their nation through language, as they are embodied in language signs. This fact demonstrates that a person is both an object and a subject of culture. The obtained reactions suggest that linguistic culture has greater impact on associative connections than individual, personal experience. It is impossible to deny the influence of ethnic factors on the worldview and the formation of consciousness of a particular linguistic and cultural community. The PEACE and WAR associations presents an inseparable connection between them in the linguistic and cultural consciousness of humanities students and they can exist only in opposition to each other.

Sociolinguistics is a joint scientific discipline between sociology and linguistics which means the relationship between society and language. In this case, sociolinguistics is the relationship and mutual influence between language behavior and social behavior. A language is an object of study of the social structures in society as means of communication and group identity. The ability of each human being in the language is different. Some people use two languages in their daily life which is called bilingual. most people like to switch languages with their interlocutors as needed. In sociolinguistics, there is code-switching which is related to bilingualism. Code-switching refers to a kind of code to switch between two languages of the same language at the same time. Code-switching here is a necessary ability to build in an ever-evolving multicultural environment. From social media, people can learn many languages and explore various languages used by others. Almost everyone uses social media. One famous artist who has a YouTube channel with many subscribers is Deddy Corbuzier. In Deddy Corbuzier's podcast, Deddy Corbuzier tends to switch Indonesian English with the other public figures. Therefore, this research aims to describe the types of code-switching using in Deddy Corbuzier podcast. There are three types such as tag switching, intersentential switching, and intrasentential switching. The data was analyzed by using Stockwell (2002) theory. The researchers used descriptive qualitative research methods to research by using (Sudaryanto, 2015). The results of this research, researchers found 3 data for tag switching, 1 data for intersentential switching, and 5 data for intrasentential switching.

AbstractThis paper analyses the variegated narratives by ‘minority nationalities’ in China, hoping to understand the dynamics of their ethnic consciousness. I focus on the Mongols in Henan Mongolian Autonomous County of Qinghai Province – hereafter Henanmengqi – where ‘Tibetanisation’ has been longstanding in culture and language. In recent decades, they have been subject to the state's ethnic classification and thus have been conscious of their relationship with the neighbouring Tibetans and other Mongols in and out of Qinghai. In this paper, the following themes on their daily experiences are discussed: What significance does the nationality category of Sogpo (‘Mongol’ in Tibetan) hold for the Henanmengqi people? Who (which group) should or should not be included in Sogpo? In what situation does the semantic content of Sogpo change? The Henanmengqi people are not free to choose their nationality category, and are often caught in the conflicting categorisations by the state administrators, scholars, other Tibetans and Mongols. I pay particular attention to the power dynamics in such relationships and the strategies taken by the Henanmengqi people to negotiate with external powers to form their nationality behaviours. Finally, I will discuss in general the characteristics of what may be called the grammar or reality of ‘homemade narration’ by ethnic minorities.

The article touches upon the issues of theoretical and applied nature and reflects the essence of two adjacent linguistic scientific disciplines interaction, each studying the phenomenon of values that influence the formation of speech, behavioural and the communicative competence of a person. The authors consider this interaction future implementation in a unique lexicographic source designed to optimize the process of learning a language as a means of intercultural communication. Thus, authors are talking about a future dictionary, called "linguistic and cultura" and introducing the cultural component of the semantics of the units included in its vocabulary. The methodology for creating the concept of a dictionary is based on the analysis of the linguo-cognitive value system, where the concepts accentuate phenomenon, which allows one to explicate the specifics of the ethnic consciousness of a non-lingual culture representative. As examples of considering the semantic content, the authors offer the values as "love" and "labour", which are included in the primary system of values of the native speakers of the Russian language and culture. A strategy for the study of interaction of two related scientific disciplines was introduced: axiological linguistics and educational lexicography enable the creation of a new type of dictionary – a nationally oriented linguistic and cultural dictionary for the Vietnamese audience studying Russian as a means of intercultural communication. The article describes the experimental procedure, which is based on the theoretical and methodological framework. The analysis of the results obtained, revealed the specificity of the value orientations of the compared linguocultures. The research data relevance to educational lexicography theoretical and applied aspects is established. The contrasted research material, represented in the article, corresponds to the goals and objectives of the nationally oriented study.

The article is devoted to the manifestations of musicality in N.S. Leskov’s works and its influence on other artworks created on the writer’s plots (specifically, in the genre of opera). The author focuses on the tale “The Left-Hander”, using as examples phrases of one of the characters, Ataman Platov. The approach proposed by the author is based on a structural, genre and intonation-rhythmic analysis of the primary source text, with documentation of its features. The potential intonation and rhythmic variants of reading individual literary phrases, recorded using conventional musical notation, allow not only to visually compare the shades of their semantic content, but also to correlate them with the musical versions presented in R.K. Shchedrin’s opera “The Left-Hander” (2013). The correlation of the graphic schemes of intonation structures of textual and melodic phrases allows to substantively determine the correspondences and discrepancies in them. In addition, the article notes such musical expressive means that make it possible to convey the intonation of characters’ speech and to outline the characteristic features of their image, such as timbre, tempo, dynamics, etc.Basing on the conducted research, the author makes a conclusion about the influence of text intonations on the formation of perception of characters’ image and the melody of their “musical” speech. The method of intonation-rhythmic analysis of a prosaic literary text, proposed by the author, is a new development in the field of studying the problems of the mutual influence of literature and music; it can find wide application in research in this direction.

ABSTRACT. The legitimization of physical education at school: the body culture of movement as a language and condition for the possibility of knowledgeBACKGROUND: School Physical Education was built through different historical pedagogical influences that produced marked interferences in the school, in the pedagogical practice of professionals immersed in this context, and, consequently, contributed to a state of identity crisis in Physical Education. OBJECTIVE: In view of this scenario, the main objective of this study is to reflect on the legitimacy of Physical Education as a component of the school curriculum. METHODS: This is a theoretical essay that proposes the problematization of school Physical Education, with emphasis on pedagogical interventions on the contents of body culture of movement. Firstly, there was a reflection and discussion about the object of study of Physical Education, later about its relevance, its place of belonging in the education system as a curricular component, and finally, about its conditions of possibility of knowledge from the scientific knowledge and common sense knowledge. RESULTS: The possibility of knowledge of Physical Education and, therefore, its legitimation, will occur through the harmonization between what differentiates it and what integrates it, that is, the arrangement between different manifestations of the movement’s body culture and language. CONCLUSION: It is important to highlight that it was not intended to produce prescriptive responses, but it is necessary to produce and discuss the curricular responsibility of Physical Education as a discipline, bringing to the fore further clarifications from the representative universe of this area of knowledge. In addition, we are aware that this study will not put an end to this whole theme. On the contrary, it is a starting point for new investigations and pedagogical interventions that can explore the contents of body culture of movement in Physical Education classes.

The dramaturgy of a television work as structure-forming for the format basis of a television periodical is examined. The purpose of the study is to explain the fundamental features of a TV program as an integral artistic phenomenon, embodied in many variations based on a single format model. The task is to clarify the problem of the effective functioning of syntactic rules in the absence of basic linguistic units, which is characteristic of the audiovisual language of screen shows, that has been actualized by domestic and Western media researchers. A general thesis is put forward about the polymodality of an audiovisual work as a single text, the unfolding of which occurs according to pre-established schemes that regulate the effect of individual elements on the viewer's perception. The dramatic approach is considered in the discourse of the global iconic turn from the verbal culture to the visual culture, there are multi-branch attempts to identify possible basic units of the new combinatorial sign system. Syntactic constructions, defined as a chain of episodes, show signs of fragmentation, mosaicism, intertextuality, and other criteria of postmodern aesthetics. The dualism of screen attractions as aggressively influencing instruments and verbal narrative, their mutual influence and dramatic significance are emphasized. The concepts of syntactic uniformity, the constancy of the syntactic structure chosen for a given format, without the possibility of breaking it in variations of editions are considered.

The article discusses the problem of mastering names of traditional Russian life objects and phenomena by Chinese students of advanced level. The aim of the work is to analyze the names of traditional Russian life objects and phenomena as an object of study for Chinese students within the framework of the academic discipline "Russian as a Foreign Language" and to build up a lexicographical methodology for working on this group of language units. The linguistic and cultural approach reveals common and different cultures in Russia and China and provides extensive material to overcome the differences that hinder communication among speakers of these languages. The article describes the names of objects and phenomena of traditional Russian life as a section of nonequivalent and part-equivalent vocabulary, presents a thematic classification of the names of objects and phenomena of traditional Russian life, and also examines in detail a group of words meaning food and drinks, in terms of their translation into Chinese. In order to understand and use correctly in speech names of objects and phenomena of traditional Russian life, it is important to know not only their interpretations, but also cultural connotations. This requires a learning commentary with extra-linguistic information. It is concluded that the implementation of the principles of national-oriented teaching, the logic of which fully corresponds to the study of traditional Russian life objects and phenomena names as language units with a national cultural component, contributes to the formation of intercultural competence, which corresponds to the optimal model of teaching a foreign language.

Memes have become an increasingly common form of modern communication, which has recently attracted great research interest. In this article we analyze "language - memes", its influence on digital culture and collective thinking. The Internet, by expanding social content, contributes to the variability of cultural codes and consequently changes an individual’s cultural identity throughout life. The culture composed of cultural groups is defined as a kind of macro-code, consisting of numerous codes that are commonly used to interpret reality among members of the cyber community. Identity is also transmitted through the use of a specific language during interaction, which is a marker of discourse, in which Memes represent a distinctive business card. Linguists, as well as specialists in other disciplines (such as philosophy, anthropology) use each other’s work to study the interrelationships and mutual influences of language and culture. The study proposed a hypothesis about the influence of the Internet on changes in society’s thinking, the formation of the Internet culture and language, using the example of meme language, which is confirmed by the analysis of Internet survey. The interdisciplinary nature of the research is due to the use of mathematical method and the logic of meme language, its impact on digital culture and collective thinking, which is represented in the responses of respondents to the questions in online questionnaires.
