TB is still a public health problem throughout the world where Indonesia is a country that has the third largest number of TB sufferers after India and China. Self-care by patients and families during the treatment process was the key to healing pulmonary TB. Using a quasi-experimental method, this study aims to improve the ability of self-care for pulmonary TB patients through intervention by “TB Mataho” health cadres. Most of the self-care capacity of pulmonary TB patients with pre-test results were sufficient, in the treatment group (75.2%) and the control group (62.5%). The post-test results for the treatment group were in the good category (53.1%) and the control group was in the sufficient category (59.4%). The results of the Paired Samples Test analysis in the treatment group obtained a value of p = 0.001 (p <0.05), which means that there was a significant difference in self-care capacity of pulmonary TB patients before and after treatment, as well as the results of the Independent Samples Test analysis, the p value was obtained. 0.030 (p <0.05) which means that there was a significant difference in the post-test results in the treatment group and the control group. Researchers recommend that pulmonary TB survivors who have a basic education of secondary and above can be trained to become health cadres and share their successful experiences with pulmonary TB patients who are still undergoing treatment programs.

AbstractPresent study was aimed at investigating the role of Physical, Environmental, Task, Timing, Learning, Emotion and Perspective (PETTLEP) Imagery technique in the improvement of skill precision level of hockey drag flickers. For this purpose, both male (83) and female (38) hockey drag flickers (n=121) of age ranged between 17 and 27 years were selected from different hockey teams belonging to clubs, colleges, universities, departments, regional and national academies of Pakistan. Participants were made to undergo a Pretest-Intervention-Posttest research design consisted of 20 drag flicks and filling of SIAQ questionnaire. Drag Flick Precision Measurement Test (DFPMT) along with Sports Imagery Ability Questionnaire (SIAQ) were used to measure their skill precision levels and their imagery ability. The participants were classified into three categories as per their skill precision levels (Point-based), ranging from 48 Novice (upto12 points), 42 Intermediate (13–18 points) and 31 Elite (19 points and above), and were randomly assigned to one of four intervention groups; Physical Practice (PP), PETTLEP Imagery Practice (IP), Physical Practice+PETTLEP Imagery Practice Combination (CP), and No Practice (NP) Control group. Each group performed their respective tasks for 10 weeks through specially designed physical training programs aided by Imagery scripts. Paired sample t test analysis showed that all groups improved significantly (p<0.05) from pre- to post-test, and the CP group improved more with average improvement value of 8.32 for DFPMT and 5.39 for SIAQ (p<0.05) than the IP, PP and NP groups. However, there was no significant difference found between the PP (Sig. 0.73) and NP (Sig. 0.44) groups in SIAQ. Result extend prior research findings and suggests that PETTLEP Imagery practice used in combination with Physical practice has substantial impact on improving performance of complex motor skills, Present findings showed that PETTLEP imagery model was found to improve player’s precision skill levels, especially when it was combined with physical practice. However, further studies in this connection are needed.

As the construction industry advances technologically, it becomes imperative to introduce the respective information technology tools to present-day curriculum. This research study was conducted to identify any significant differences in student performance contributed by using an information technology tool, specifically the Apple® iPad® tablet. IPad tablets were used to electronically present construction drawings to a treatment group, and a control group was given traditional paper drawings. Following an instructional lecture, students were given a test based on the provided construction drawings. The test results indicate that there was no significant difference in performance between students who used the information technology tool to complete the test and those who used traditional paper drawings to complete the same test. The treatment group also answered a usability survey, which helped to comprehend how students perceive the tablet’s usability. Students indicated that they would like to use the tool in the future.

A significant barrier to effective communication in a second language is the awareness and accurate reproduction of phonetic sounds absent in the mother tongue. This study investigated whether the automated evaluation of phonetic accuracy using speech recognition technology could improve the pronunciation skills of 105 (88 female, 17 male) Thai undergraduate students studying English in Thailand. A pre-test, post-test design was employed using treatment and control sample groups, reversed over two six-week periods. Treatment group students were given access to an online platform on which they could record and submit their speech for automated evaluation and feedback via SpeechAce, a speech recognition interface designed to evaluate pronunciation and fluency. Independent samples t-test analysis of the results showed statistically significant improvement in pronunciation accuracy of students in the treatment group when compared to those in the control group (t (89) = 2.086, p = .040, 95% CI [.083, 3.423]), (t (89) = -4.692, p < .001, 95% CI [-5.157, -2.089]). Pearson’s correlation analysis indicated a weak to moderate, but statistically significant correlation between frequency of practise and pronunciation test score (r =.508, p < .001), (r = .384, p = .021). The study has limitations as the sample group was predominantly female, and time constraints limited students’ use of the software. Future studies should investigate possible gender differences and experiment with different forms of visual feedback.

Sensitive period is the right time to instill the basis of the importance of counting. In addition to counting skills that must be developed also pay attention to the application of learning used. However, in the learning process, teachers often forget the importance of playing methods. If too often with giving assignments the child will feel bored, therefore what is used is the method of playing. Play method is one method that can be used by teachers to teach the ability to count children in the beginning. Based on this background, the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of playing methods on initial numeracy skills. This study used the Quasi Experiment method with the Nonequevalent Control Group Design research design. The results of the pre test showed that there were no significant differences in the experimental group and the control group with p-value> 0.05, which was 0.135> 0.05 which was tested by the two average test results. While the post-test results showed that the initial numeracy ability after the application of the playing method experienced a significant difference with the p-value <0.05, that is with the results of 0.0001 with the Mann-Whitney test. This method of playing can be used as a learning suggestion for educators to improve their ability to have an early start.

[ACCESS RESTRICTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI AT AUTHOR'S REQUEST.] This researcher performed an evaluation of the Missouri public high school personal finance graduation requirement. Sophomore, junior, and senior students at a Missouri public high school were given a pre-test and post-test consisting of 31 questions related to financial literacy topics. The students consisted of treatment group that was completing a personal finance class and a control group of students taking other business classes. The testing instrument used was the Jumpstart Coalition Survey of Personal Financial Literacy and the 31 questions were broken into four sub-scores within the realm of financial literacy (income, money management, credit and spending, and savings and investing). The study showed that the treatment group had a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test in the areas of money management, credit and spending as well as the overall score with the post-test scores being higher than the pre-test scores. There was also a statistically significant difference in the knowledge gained between the treatment group and the control group in the area of credit and spending as well as the overall score. There were no statistically significant differences in knowledge gained found in the demographic areas of gender, socioeconomic status (measured by how students paid for lunch), or grade level. These findings help support the idea that the current personal finance class is working across all demographics in most areas of financial literacy and could be implemented as a model for other school districts. Future research in this area should consider various items such as expanding the sample base, performing a longitudinal study, and considering the effects of age on one's ability to comprehend financial knowledge.
