The achievement rates for exclusive breastfeeding are still not encouraging. One of the factors that caused it is lack of support from the mothers’ husbands or family in the process of exclusive breastfeeding. This support is very pivotal since it may motivate and give mothers the confidence to breastfeed. To find out the relationship between family support and maternal self-efficacy in exclusive breastfeeding. This study uses a cross sectional approach, which consists of the dependent variable (self-efficacy) and the independent variable (family support). The inclusion criteria are as follow: (1) breastfeeding mothers who have babies aged 1-6 months (2) mothers who live with their nuclear family in one house (3) mothers who live with their extended families in one house (4) mothers are able to read and write. The sampling technique used was non-probability purposive sampling using questionnaire as an instrument. Then the data were analyzed using the Spearman’s Rho statistical correlation test with a significance of p ≤ 0.05. The total respondents of this study were 49 people. The most obtained data is nursing mothers who experience good self-efficacy (69.4%). Statistical test results with Spearman’s rho obtained p value = 0.000 (α < 0.05) which means that there is a relationship between family support and self-efficacy, with the strength of the relationship (r = 0.854) indicating that it is very strong with the same value direction, i.e., if the family support of the mother is lower, then the self-efficacy of the mother will be low. Introduction: Nepal Nursing Council issued a notice regarding the inclusion of men in nursing in June 2018. Even with this mandate, only a handful of male students claimed the reservation for nursing education. This study aimed to determine the intention of pursuing nursing as a career and its associated factors among male students in the schools of Banepa Municipality, Kavre, Nepal. Method: A quantitative analytical cross-sectional research design was adopted and data was collected via convenience sampling technique. A semi-structured questionnaire was administered among male students of grade 10 of the selected schools. Result: Among 190 respondents, only 11.8% had an intention to pursue the nursing profession as a career. Global opportunities, challenging careers, and reasonable pay were apparent factors that influenced students. However, lack of social support, lack of role model, disrespect, and unpleasant work environment was the major inhibiting factors. Furthermore, the intention to pursue nursing as a career was significantly common among the male students who were acquainted with a nurse and had exposure to nursing care. Conclusion: The majority of the participants had a positive perception of nursing but did not prefer to pursue nursing as a career due to lack of social support, lack of role models, disrespect, and an unpleasant work environment.

Introduction: The postpartum period is a challenging transition for postpartum mothers. The existence of major changes can make mothers experience mood disorders such as postpartum depression. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and self-efficacy with the incidence of postpartum depression. Methods: This study uses a cross-sectional design. The population in this study was postpartum mothers. The sample involved 97 respondents using a consecutive sampling technique. The inclusion criteria in this study were postpartum mothers with 1-4 month periods. The exclusion criteria used were postpartum mothers with severe mental disorders. Data were collected using Sources of Social Support Scale questionnaires, Perceived Maternal Parental Self Efficacy, and Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale. The analysis uses the spearman rho test statistical test. Results: The results showed there was a relationship between family support and postpartum depression (p = 0.000; r = -0.364) and there was a relationship between self-efficacy and the incidence of postpartum depression (p = 0.000; r = -0.355).Conclusion: The higher the family support and self-efficacy, the lower the chance of postpartum depression. Postpartum mothers who get high family support will feel cared for, loved, and can share the burden so they can reduce stress which ultimately reduces postpartum depression. Postpartum mothers who have high self-efficacy tend to regard the task difficulties that she faces as an obstacle rather than as a threat that leads to the emergence of depression.
