The approach of copying business models to create a successful company is discredited as non-innovative and propagated as a low-risk variant of entrepreneurship although a simple so-called copycat would only increase competition in the market and not guarantee success. Hence, the question of which characteristics of a business model enable success of such developed businesses arises. This paper presents a methodical approach to the analysis of enablers in business models based on case study research. With the validation of the approach using the business model canvas, a study among e-commerce companies is conducted, and success factors for copycats are identified. The methodological concept can also be applied to other industries and can deliver detailed results using more complex business model tools.

Organizations are increasing the use of partnerships but improved models addressing the sharing of profits and risks are needed to foster innovations in networked new product development. We have used a case study approach to explore the implementation of profit- and risk-sharing mechanisms in a virtual enterprise. Lack of a shared vision may have been the most important cause for the early decomposition of the virtual enterprise. Therefore, the trust did not start to accumulate during the cooperation. This would have been imperative for the implementation of profit sharing mechanisms, because risk attitudes seemed to favor hierarchical rewarding mechanisms.

The rapid development of technology implies inclusiveness in da'wah not only in real terms in the real world, but also in the virtual world. Some things that become considerations of the da'wah inclusiveness need to be applied, including the growth of radicalism through social media, then in 2015 a funny social media account @NUgaris emerged that intensely and consistently helped to color the virtual world. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. The authors explore the implementation of preaching inclusiveness through social media carried out by the above account. The results of the study show that there are three forms of the application of the inclusiveness of the @NUgarislucu account, namely: inclusiveness in doing da’wah to the internal citizens of NU (Nahdhiyin); inclusiveness in da'wah to internal Muslims who differ in manhaj (across mass organizations) in Indonesia; inclusiveness in da'wah to external Muslims, namely to other religions in Indonesia. The three forms of missionary inclusiveness are carried out through dialogue and humor.

The imposition of collateral in muḍārabah financing contracts is a separate issue for Islamic banks even though in principle Islamic banks are not required to ask for collateral, but in practice, collateral is one of the elements that must be met by business actors in muḍārabah financing contracts. When the collateral is not applied, problems often arise in the case of debtor default. The problem in this study is whether the imposition of collateral can be used as an effort to resolve debtor disputes in muḍārabah financing contracts. To answer the research question, the method used is a normative juridical research method where the law is not only seen as law in books but also the law in action with the statutory approach and case study approach, namely the decision of the Mahkamah Agung. The results of the study presented that binding guarantees in muḍārabah financing contracts can be used as anticipation to minimize the risk of loss based on article 39 of Law no. 21 of 2008 concerning Islamic Banking. When the business actor defaults, neglects, and breaches the contract in muḍārabah financing, the guarantee can be used as an effort to mitigate the settlement of muḍārabah financing disputes to pay off obligations to Islamic banks.
