Malang City was chosen as the leading destination for national halal tourism because the concept of halal tourism that has been owned by Malang city since 2018 has matured. Apart from that, the large number of both foreign and domestic tourists is also a determining factor. The purpose of this study is  to find out the opportunities and challenges of halal tourism in Malang. There are so many opportunities and potentials in developing halal tourism programs, as well as the challenges faced by tourism stakeholders are getting bigger. This is what underlies this research,  to find out opportunities and challenges in the development of halal tourism in the Malang city. The type of research design is exploratory and qualitative research. Exploratory research is a research design that explores situations or situations to gain insight and understanding. The results of this study are several points of opportunity from halal tourism: 1) Halal tourism is already popular in foreign markets. (Malaysia, Singapore, Middle East), 2) increasing public awareness in adopting a halal lifestyle, 3) the variety and number of tourist attractions (halal) which are popular with foreign tourists, 4) the potential for adequate infrastructure and accommodation in Malang city. Meanwhile, some challenges in halal tourism include; 1) the quality of halal tourism infrastructure in competing countries is relatively better, 2) halal tourism has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In management literature, qualitative research has received limited attention. Many scholars undermine the importance of qualitative research as a method that lacks generalizability and objectivity. This paper argues that qualitative research promotes the development of compelling and rigorous and field research only if it is followed by quantitative research to confirm the findings on a large population. I delineate that qualitative research using grounded theory that followed by a quantitative approach is crucial when the state of prior work is nascent and there is no prior work on the construct and process under investigation and it is the optimal research design for new field scholars. I discuss the implications of the sequential exploratory research design for educating new field researchers.

A textbook holds an important place in ELT programme, particularly in an EFL setting where most teachers depend totally on the approved books, and don't bother to prepare tailor-made teaching materials. Objectives: The main objective is to critically examine the current English textbook for class ten used by all the government as well as English-medium private schools across Nepal. Methodology: A descriptive qualitative research design was adopted to evaluate the quality of the book on mainly two criteria: what to teach and how to teach, At the same time, many other things have been taken into consideration, for example, what is the quality of the input in the book from the viewpoints of four elements of language and four macro skills as well as their constituent micro skills, what is the learning outcome of the book, and so on. Result: There seems to be serious loopholes in the organization of the presentation and practice materials of the book from both viewpoints: knowledge transmission and communicative ability development. Conclusion: The book needs to be adapted and rewritten.

Abstract   Money plays an important role in consumer society. The perception of money determines the attitude toward money and in turn determines the behaviour of a person in situations involving money. The objective of this paper is to review and understand different conceptualities of money attitude, especially with India. It also establishes a new conceptualisation of money attitude. This paper provides the exploratory research design, and qualitative research is conducted to develop a behavioral conceptualisation of money attitude. This is a conjectural study constructed on the analysis of various notions on money attitude in literature. The contemporary conceptualisation of money attitude has been developed by comprehensive examination of descriptions and characterisations of money attitude. The novel and contemporaneous proposition of money attitude provides an imperative foundation for research on money and attitude towards money and stipulates a fundamental start point for pragmatic research.   Keywords: Money, money attitude, contemporary conceptualization, Indian perspective.

Advertisement is a media communication which mostly contains sign. In order to achieve the selling goals, companies will provide advertisement to introduce their product. In this matter, the thesis writer will be focused on analyzing sign in advertisement. One of the companies that is known world-wide for its car products and campaigns is Subaru, a Japanese brand of multifaceted transport equipment. There are two objectives intended to be solved in this thesis, they are to find the meaning and to find the role of icon and symbol in the ads picture of Subaru car in automotive magazine. The thesis writer applies qualitative research as her research design to analyze the sign in the ads. It is intended to the thesis writer to be able to gather information about meaning from social perspective. The study of this thesis will started by finding the meaning of icon and symbol by using triadic process, which is a semiosis theory by Charles Sanders Peirce. Finding out the symbol and icon meaning through represantamen and interpretant in triangle figure. After finding out the meaning behind the icon and symbol, the thesis writer will be able to describe the role of icon and symbol in Subaru car ads pictures. It is concluded that even from one company, the icon and symbol used somehow serves different vibes to each product. But characteristics of the company brand are not left behind. The meaning behind icon and symbol mostly shows that the Subaru car is suitable for every weather, tracks, well-known for its safety and has sustainable machinery. The role of icon and symbol in the ads itself combined to support the quality of the product.  Key Words: Icon, Symbol, Representamen.

This research aimed to investigate the relevance between the literature reviews and the research questions of the theses written by the students who graduated in 2019 from seven study programs in STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat. The research design was qualitative research which focused on describing, explaining, and exploring the students’ thesis writings, whether the literature reviews described were relevant to their research questions. Purposive sampling was the technique used to select the data that consisted of 13 students’ theses. This research focused on those 13 theses because they were written in a qualitative method, which showed the relevance between research questions and the literature review. Here, content analysis was used to analyze the data to show whether the literature review of each thesis discusses the relevant theories to answer the research questions. The result showed that among 13 students’ theses, 6 theses were relevant, and 7 were irrelevant. It means that more students had written with irrelevant theories. It can be suggested to the thesis advisors to give more attention to the quality of students’ theses because the irrelevance can interfere with the qualities of their theses.

The purpose of this study is to analysis tourist attractions in Maros Regency, namely the Leang-leang prehistoric site related to the conditions, facilities, and infrastructure, as well as obstacles and challenges in their development. In addition, to be able to know the facts that have been raised by the researcher. It is undeniable that when conducting a research, there are always obstacles and problems faced by the researcher. This research applied qualitative research design to minimize these things from happening. At least using qualitative research methods, researchers are able to accept the image of the reality to be studied. It also makes it easier to choose variables & helps in making theories. This article shows that there are many potentials activities and possibilities to be developed in Leang-leang. Furthermore, the development will not put a side of the society. Finally, this article concludes that through the communication, and environmental conservation, tourism activities will be expanded without leaving the community interest.

Abstract - Tourism always has an impact on the economic and social aspects of the residents around the tourist attractions, therefore development and management are always a serious concern for tourism managers. In this study discussed the study of tourist satisfaction as a result of tourism development in Bali Ndeso, Flory Village. Using descriptive qualitative research, researchers want to disclose aspects of service, facilities, prices and satisfaction offered to visitors. The rating of tourists towards the management of tourism objects as a tourist development in Bali Ndeso in this study the majority gave good ratings. Indicators of reliable and responsive services have been considered good. Then the belief and empaty indicators are also considered good. The aspect of facilities in consideration and land planning is also well appreciated by tourists. The price factor offered is also assessed in accordance with the quality of the products in Bali Ndeso and the prices that are considered to be quite competitive with competitors of similar tourism objects elsewhere. The location of tourism objects is also considered good because of its strategic location and easy access. The researcher found that tourist satisfaction was judged to be good because of the success in complaining the complaints of tourists and completing the work well such as being able to know the desires and diagonalize the problem quickly. Keywords: Development, Satisfaction and Travelers Abstrak - Pariwisata selalu memberikan dampak terhadap ekonomi dan sosial warga sekitar obyek wisata untuk itu pengembangan dan pengelolaan selalu menjadi perhatian serius bagi pengelola wisata. Dalam penelitian ini membahas studi tentang kepuasaan wisatawan sebagai dampak dari pengembangan wisata di Bali Ndeso Kampung Flory. Menggunakan penelitian yang bersifat deskriptif kualitatif, peneliti ingin mengungkapkan tentang aspek-aspek pelayanan, fasilitas, harga dan kepuasaan yang ditawarkan kepada wisatawan. Penilaiaan wisatawan terhadap pengelolaan obyek wisata sebagai pengembangan wisata di Bali Ndeso dalam penelitian ini mayoritas memberikan penilaian yang baik. Indikator pelayanan yang handal dan tanggap sudah dinilai baik. Kemudian indikator keyakinan dan empaty juga dinilai baik. Aspek fasilitas dalam pertimbangan dan perencanaan lahan juga diapresiasi dengan baik oleh wisatawan. Faktor harga yang ditawarkan juga dinilai sesuai dengan kualitas produk yang ada di Bali Ndeso serta harga yang dinilai cukup bersaing dengan kompetitor obyek wisata yang sejenis ditempat lain. Aspek lokasi obyek wisata juga dinilai baik karena lokasi yang strategis dan mudah diakses. Peneliti menemukan bahwa kepuasaan wisatawan sudah dinilai baik karena keberhasilan dalam menengani keluhan wisatwan dan menyelesaikan pekerjaan dengan baik seperti mampu mengetahui keinginan dan mendiagonis permasalahan dengan cepat. Traveling and teaching program was a social event in learning aspects that was carrying out the concept of fun learning in primary school and giving donation through traveling and giving, while the smart center was continuity event and or long term program that was focus on giving direct assistance whether physical and non-physical assistance in 12 months. The researcher used qualitative research design by using multi-sites research design. The result of the management programs that was consisting of planning, implementing, and evaluating that was done by the 1000 Guru Malang community showed that the indicators of the achievement school's quality that was consisting of enhancing the society's participation, academical and non-academical achievements, school image in the society, and the quality of school facilities.</p><p><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan manajemen program <em>traveling and teaching </em>dan <em>smart center </em>komunitas 1000 Guru Malang dalam peningkatan mutu sekolah. Program <em>traveling and teaching </em>merupakan kegiatan sosial di bidang pendidikan yang mengusung konsep pembelajaran menyenangkan di sekolah dasar dan pembagian donasi yang dikemas melalui penjelajahan sambil berbagi. <em>Smart center </em>merupakan kegiatan lanjutan dan atau program jangka panjang yang fokus pada pemberian bantuan langsung ke sekolah baik secara fisik maupun non fisik dalam jangka waktu 12 bulan. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis rancangan studi multi situs. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen program yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi yang dilaksanakan komunitas 1000 Guru Malang menunjukkan indikator pencapaian mutu sekolah yang meliputi peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat, prestasi akademik dan non akademik, citra sekolah di masyarakat, dan kualitas fasilitas sekolah.</p></td></tr></tbody></table></div>

The present research tries to investigate the impact of teaching Ground Rules (GRs) on EFL learners’ quality of interaction while they are implementing Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR). To this purpose, five Iranian EFL intermediate learners who were learning English language in an institute in Iran were selected.  In this study, after three sessions of implementing CSR, 5 GRs were explicitly taught to the learners, and learners’ interaction was analyzed for three subsequent sessions to investigate whether teaching GRs has influenced learners’ quality of interaction during the implementation of CSR. The study was done on the platform of adobe-connect. The researcher recorded learners’ interactions during six sessions for further analysis. Qualitative research design was applied in this study to examine the changes in the quality of learners’ interaction. The result of the study indicated that teaching GRs promoted the quality of learners’ interaction during the implementation of CSR.

The city of Bogor is one of the cities that has implemented the concept of smart city and is one of the centers of attention for the movement of people. The implementation of smart cities often has difficulty in applying various aspects. One of them is about environmental problems in urban areas that are very vulnerable to various damages such as garbage. One effort to improve the quality of the urban environment is the concept of Smart Environment. This study uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. This research results that the condition of Bogor City which is dense makes the volume of waste increasing. In this case, waste management efforts such as the Trash Bank, 3R Trash Program, and impelemntation of waste management of IT based. However, in its application the City of Bogor experienced constraints on public awareness and participation. Keywords: Waste Management, Smart City, Smart Environment
