Aim/Purpose: The purpose of this pilot case study is to provide details on developing a framework for e-mentoring graduate level online health education students as an added component of an online health education course. Background: E-mentoring gives faculty the opportunity to share professional knowledge with students and impart practical experiences. In addition, faculty can show how the course content is teaching skills applicable to student’s personal and professional goals. There is an abundance of research and professional literature that includes mentoring of graduate students, but this literature base has not shown a development in a theory and models used in e-mentoring. As yet, however, literature dealing with e-mentoring the future health educator is scarce or nonexistent even though technology such as mobile apps, email, listservs, chat groups and conferencing could enhance the e-mentoring process. Methodology: The framework is described in the context of a curriculum development and a program planning model. Following the steps designed in this framework, mentees are guided through a course that begins with setting goals and ends with an evaluation process. The steps are similar to what health educator’s use in the program planning process, which is also a component of building a community program. The model uses both psychosocial variables that help build identity and coaching functions as a guide and to obtain measurements. Contribution: The study ends with a mix of evaluations that include the formative and sum-mative evaluations. A formative evaluation is conducted throughout the pro-cess. A summative evaluation will be conducted at the end to gain feedback. For the summative evaluation, constructs from the mentoring scale will be used. Findings: This case study was prepared to serve as a basis for discussion rather than to illustrate either effective or ineffective e-mentoring process for health educators.

Abstract:       This study aims to evaluate the implementation of assignation program of non-permanent educators by the Educational Department in Alor using the CSE-UCLA model which consist of four stages namely needs assessment, program planning, formative evaluation and summative evaluation. A descriptive-qualitative method was applied with interview techniques, questionnaires,and documentation for the data collection.  Based on the component of needs assessment, the program has a clear legal basis. However, since there is no technical guidance, therefore a different interpretation occurs during the implementation. Based on the program planning, the educational department has a program plan while the school needs aspect has not been fulfilled in terms of education degree and field of study. Formative evaluation, the assignation criteria for educators is based on school proposals using the administrative selection system. The placement of educators is not in accordance with the needs of schools based on the subject course. Summative evaluation, achievement of the program objectives has been attained in terms of quantity, although the improvements in terms of quality of assignation and placement of educatorare needed to be a concern to meet the school’ needs

The goal of this article is to provide a framework for practitioners to update their curriculum using an in-depth case study of the Parents Forever program. As new research and best practices change, curriculum authors and program administrators should consider revising both the content and method of delivery of their courses. However, little literature exists to document the pragmatics of this process, particularly when operating within the context of a legislative mandate. The case study of the Parents Forever program curriculum update is grounded in a program life cycle model. Using this model, in-depth descriptions are provided, from beginning observations of current classes to final stages of the evaluation. This included piloting, formative evaluation, implementation, and summative evaluation, including results of a year of teaching the new curriculum, which are described along with next steps.

This case study examines the process whereby a community based self-care health education program was developed and implemented in a poverty-struck coal mining region of southern Appalachia. One of the principle dynamics explored here in depth is the tension between “insiders” (persons who know the area but may not be well versed in program planning, implementation or evaluation) and “outsiders”; persons who may be professionally prepared for mounting programs but are hampered in their ability to adjust to or handle the vicissitudes of an unfamiliar social or cultural situation. Suggestions are advanced as to how this tension might be better managed.

This research is motivated by the lack of learning methods applied to the yellow book learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Islamic classic book, known also as Kitab Kuning. The research method used a qualitative research method. The data collection techniques used observation analysis, interview, and documentation study. The results of the research based on direct observation, documentation and interviews with clerics, teaching boards, administrative staff and santri administrators can be summarized as follows: Planning for learning the Islamic classic book at Pondok Asy Syifa is rooted in kiyai's thinking about the Islamic classic book learning levels due to the absence of a clear lesson plan at the Pondok Asy Syifa. Salafiyah are rooted in the abilities of the santris (students) themselves. The teaching and learning process is carried out every day except Thursday and Friday, the learning of the Islamic classic book is carried out by the teacher/ustadz delivering the subject matter using the method of delivering sorogan, bandongan and rote material. Learning evaluation uses formative evaluation, namely an assessment in the form of nadhaman memorization that is carried out before learning takes place and summative evaluation.

This article presents a case study of a health promotion program that successfully operated for four years but terminated when its federal and state funding ended, i.e., it failed to become institutionalized. The program, which was funded under the federal health education-risk reduction grants, was directed at preventing use of alcohol and tobacco among young adolescents. Evaluations indicated that the program was highly successful. The authors argue that health promotion programs can be viewed as organizational innovations in which institutionalization is the final stage of the innovation process. In the case study, institutionalization did not occur for two reasons: 1) demonstration of effective implementation was the health department's primary goal, and program institutionalization was only a latent concern and; 2) both the county commissioners and the community feared federal and state “dumping.” The “CODAPT” model of health education program planning is presented as one way of dealing with the problem of “deep” program implementation but “shallow” institutionalization. Implications of these findings for health education practice and policy are discussed.

Current adolescent HIV infection rates support the need for early HIV/AIDS prevention education. This article describes a successful service-learning project in which undergraduate health education students developed and taught an elementaryschool HIV/AIDS prevention education curriculum that included a compassion component involving donation of teddy bears to community members affected with HIV/AIDS.

Natural resource managers need up-to-date information about how people interact with public lands and the meanings these places hold for use in planning and decision-making. This case study explains the use of public participatory Geographic Information System (GIS) to generate and analyze spatial patterns of the uses and values people hold for the Browns Canyon National Monument in Colorado. Participants drew on maps and answered questions at both live community meetings and online sessions to develop a series of maps showing detailed responses to different types of resource uses and landscape values. Results can be disaggregated by interaction types, different meaningful values, respondent characteristics, seasonality, or frequency of visit. The study was a test for the Bureau of Land Management and US Forest Service, who jointly manage the monument as they prepare their land management plan. If the information generated is as helpful throughout the entire planning process as initial responses seem, this protocol could become a component of the Bureau’s planning tool kit.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengelolaan masjid berbasis kampus dalam meningkatkan pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui proses perencanaan, pengorganisasian, penggerakan, dan pengawasan kegiatan membangun kerjasama dengan masyarakat, sehingga semua pemberdayaan yang dilakukan oleh DKM masjid dapat berjalan dengan efektif dan efisien. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatatif. Hasil penelitian di Masjid Al-Jabbar Kampus ITB Jatinangor dapat diperoleh data pengelolaan masjid Al-Jabbar mencakup beberapa tahapan dalam meyusun program kegiatan yang telah direncanakan. Ada beberapa langkah-langkah yang digunakan  dalam melakukan pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui masjid Al-Jabbar Kampus ITB Jatinangor sesuai dengan fungsi pengelolaan yang digunakan. Pertama adalah perencanaan program yang dilakukan oleh DKM masjid Al-Jabbar dalam meningkatkan pemberdayaan masyarakat. Kedua yaitu pengorganisasian diterapkan untuk pembagian tugas kerja kepada pengurus DKM. Ketiga yaitu pelaksanaan diterapkan melalui bimbingan, pemberian motivasi kepada pengurus, menjalin hubungan. Kemudian yang terakhir adalah pengawasan yang diterapkan DKM masjid Al-Jabbar melalui pengawasan langsung dan tidak langsung. This research aims to determine the management of campus-based mosques in improving community empowerment, through the planning process, organizing, actuating, and controlling of activities in building cooperation with the community, so that all the empowerment carried out by DKM mosques can run effectively and efficiently. The method used in this research uses descriptive methods with a qualitative approach. The research at the Al-Jabbar Mosque in the ITB Jatinangor Campus can be obtained from the management data of the Al-Jabbar mosque covering several stages in arranging the planned program of activities. There are several steps used in empowering the community through the Al-Jabbar mosque in accordance with the management functions used. First is program planning carried out by the DKM Al-Jabbar mosque in improving community empowerment. Second, organizing is applied to the division of work tasks to DKM administrators. Third, the implementation is implemented through guidance, giving motivation to the board, having a relationship. Then the last is the supervision applied by the Al-Jabbar DKM mosque through direct and indirect supervision.

The Bologna Process, Information and Communication Technology, and market forces have brought manyinnovations and great changes to higher education systems throughout Europe. Reforms in higher educationhave taken a new direction, towards making higher education students more autonomous. However, manycountries have not really adopted this innovative way of teaching and still maintain an old ‘transmission’ stylewhich often entails teachers trying to pour knowledge into the minds of their students. Promoting autonomouslearning (the ability of students to manage their own learning) in higher education is crucial both for theindividual and society, as the idea of an academic student comprises critical reflective thinking and theimportance of becoming an independent learner. This article will discuss the importance of promotingautonomous learning throughout self, peer and co-assessment for higher education quality enhancement. Thepaper will examine the case of International Black Sea University’s MA students enrolled in the Higher EducationManagement program. The analyses of a survey will be used to discuss the significance of autonomous learningfor students and their readiness for self, peer and co-assessment.
