Spirituality is not something foreign to humans, because it is the core (core) of humanity itself. Manpu's spiritual drive brings the material dimension of man to his spiritual dimension (spirit, divinity) by understanding and internalizing His attributes, living life according to His instructions and imitating His Messenger. The goal is to gain His pleasure, to become a "friend" of Allah, "lover" (wali) of Allah. Spiritual leadership is leadership capable of inspiring, arousing, influencing and mobilizing through exemplary, service, compassion and the implementation of values and other divine traits in goals, processes, culture and leadership behavior. The spiritual leadership model is not only influenced by external factors, but is more guided by internal factors, namely the human conscience, but spiritual leadership does not mean anti-intellectual leadership. The leadership implemented by Muhammad SAW. become a role model with its main characteristics, namely siddiq (integrity), trust (trust), fathanah (working smart) and tabligh (openly, human relations) capable of influencing others by inspiring without indoctrinating, awakening without hurting, arousing without forcing and inviting without ordering. Spiritual leadership in schools or madrasas really needs to be applied by the principal, because madrasas are schools or places to study both general science and Islamic religious knowledge, and what characterizes madrasas are very focused on cultivating values. or the science of religion for students where the aim of the madrasa in general is to form a human who understands religion (to be a human being who is faithful and pious). So ideally, a principal, especially at a school with an Islamic background or known as a madrasa, should be able to apply spiritual leadership in carrying out its main duties and functions.

<p>This research focuses on the leadership of the A’wam Council, group of young religious scholars or <em>kyai</em> (<em>Lora</em>) at the Mambaul Ulum Bata-Bata Pamekasan Madura Islamic Boarding School, in carrying out institutional transformation of the pesantren (traditional Islamic boarding schools). As the protector of religious-culture, <em>Lora</em> not only preserves the various acpects of religion such as marriage and security (by performing the rituals of <em>tahlil</em>, or <em>yasinan</em>) but also maintains public morality and good social and political relations in the community. <em>Lora</em> functions as the a protector of culture and religion (<em>amanah </em>or public trust) in order to increase the social capital of the pesantren (enriching social networks). Using the collective leadership theory by O’Neill &amp; Berinkerhoff and a qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation, this article finds that <em>Lora</em> leadership made use of Islamic values in transforming this institution from a traditional pesantren (<em>salaf</em>) to modern one (<em>khalaf</em>). This process was coupled with the development of an interconnective-integralist paradigm that led to a new pesantren model that not only preserves the traditional methods but also adopted new developments in contemporary thought, namely combining and integrating religious knowledge with general science</p><p> </p><p><em>Riset ini memfokuskan pada dinamika kepemimpinan Dewan A’wam –yang merupakan kumpulan kyai muda (Lora) di Pesantren Mambaul Ulum Bata-Bata Pamekasan Madura- dalam melakukan transfomasi kelembagaan pesantren.

This article advocates that research is lacking on the connection between leadership theory and social network theory. To date, little empirical research has been conducted on leadership and social networks. Thus, the proposition of this article goes beyond traditional leadership models to advocate for a fuller and more integrative focus that is multilevel, multi-component and interdisciplinary, while recognizing that leadership is a complex function of both the organisational leaders and the followers who perform tasks, all of which subsequently leads to decision making qualities. Indeed, the current leadership model focuses on leadership behaviour and the ability to gain followers mutuality, to achieve decision making quality involving the integration of leadership and social network theories. Given the apparent mutable palette of contemporary leadership theory, this emergent construct of the leadership paradigm can expand the poles of the leadership continuum and contribute to a richer and deeper understanding of the relationships and responsibilities of leaders and followers as they relate to decision making qualities. This new construct, which is termed prophetic leadership, explores the literature of the life experiences of the prophet in the ‘Abrahamic Faith’ religion. Drawing on a priori links between the personality trait and spiritual leadership that has recently garnered the interest of scholars, the present study asserts a normative leadership theory that links the personal quality of a leader, posture and principal (based on the Prophet’s leadership behaviour) to synergy and decision making quality. Altruism is proposed to enhance relationships between leadership behaviour and decision making quality. For future research, much work needs to be done specifically aiming to (a) achieve greater clarity of construct definitions, (b) address measurement issues, and (c) avoid construct redundancy.

<p>One of the important parts relating to education for children is teaching da’wah since their early age, so that it becomes a habit for their life till they reach adulthood. Da'wah  is regarded as a good process of education and  it really should refer to the Islamic values which is implemented to children since early age. If this education process can run well, it would generate younger generations who have strong commitment. Introducing da’wah in early childhood requires extra patience to understand the child's condition; like the pra-formal operational stage of cognitive growth process, so that it requires easily understandable methods for children in its implementation. As principals assume their roles in an urban bureaucracy, what are some of the personal and organizational factors that support or restrict their efforts to bring about school change? Based on interviews with newly appointed principals, this study concludes that external and internal factors interact to influence leadership behavior. External factors, particularly role models, district expectations, and personal and organizational support, influence principals’ sense of self-efficacy. This internal factor, in turn, appeared to play an important mediating role influencing principals’ interpretation of the organizational context and their problem-solving processes.
