The presence of multicultural education has an important role in improving and providing solutions to various religious problems. It's  just that teachers still have difficulty in integrating multicultural values in learning. There needs to be a development of teacher professionalism in terms of learning based on multicultural values, because the increasing professionalism of teachers will have an effect on improving the quality of learning both processes andresults. The method  of  community  service   used  is the Community  Based  Research  (CBR)  method with  RRA(Rapid Rural Appraisal) technique.  Devotional activities    through the multicultural PAI  learning  model   raise  awareness of teachers  or assisted groups  to  develop their professionalism  and  competence  in  organizing innovative  and  quality   learning.

This study uses a qualitative approach with library research research methods in the form of documents. The data analysis technique used was descriptive (non-statistical) analysis technique. The results of the study: First, teacher professionalism in improving the quality of Islamic education can be seen from four aspects of competence, namely pedagogical competence, personality competence, social competence, and professional competence. Second, the supporting factors are divided into two, namely internal factors and external factors while the inhibiting factors, namely the majority of teachers have not fully pursued their profession, there are still universities that produce original teacher graduates, and the low motivation of teachers in improving the quality of the profession. Third, the impact of the low professional competence of teachers is that learning activities are less effective and efficient, learning is less than optimal, the learning atmosphere is less pleasant and comfortable, learning outcomes are less creative, active, and productive.

Although there are a number of quality frameworks available for evaluating palliative services, it is necessary to adapt these frameworks to models of care designed for the rural context. The purpose of this paper was to describe the development of a program assessment framework for evaluating a rural palliative supportive service as part of a community-based research project designed to enhance the quality of care for patients and families living with life-limiting chronic illness. A review of key documents from electronic databases and grey literature resulted in the identification of general principles for high-quality palliative care in rural contexts. These principles were then adapted to provide an assessment framework for the evaluation of the rural palliative supportive service. This framework was evaluated and refined using a community-based advisory committee guiding the development of the service. The resulting program assessment framework includes 48 criteria organized under seven themes: embedded within community; palliative care is timely, comprehensive, and continuous; access to palliative care education and experts; effective teamwork and communication; family partnerships; policies and services that support rural capacity and values; and systematic approach for measuring and improving outcomes of care. It is important to identify essential elements for assessing the quality of services designed to improve rural palliative care, taking into account the strengths of rural communities and addressing common challenges. The program assessment framework has potential to increase the likelihood of desired outcomes in palliative care provisions in rural settings and requires further validation.

A lot of damage due to excessive exploitation has been done on the prominent archaeological site ofTrowulan, and this may partly be attributable to the minimum involvement of the community in the conservationefforts. The experimental study aims to assess the different effects of the two community- based conservationmethods—Participation Rural Appraisal (PRA) and Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA)—on the communityparticipation in the preservation of the site. Four questions were raised as to (1) whether there is any differencebetween the participation of the community applying the PRA method and that of the community applying theRRA method; (2) whether there is any difference between the participation of the community with high levelcultural understanding applying the PRA method and that of the community with high level culturalunderstanding applying the RRA method; (3) whether there is any difference between the participation of thecommunity with low level cultural understanding applying the PRA method and that of the community with lowlevel cultural understanding applying the RRA method; and (4) whether there is any interaction between problemsolving strategy and cultural understanding in the participation of the community in the conservation of theTrowulan archaeological site. The 2x2 factorial design was applied on a sample consisting of 60 randomlyselected adult and married respondents from two villages in Kecamatan Trowulan. The study found (1) asignificant difference between the participation of the community applying the PRA method and that of thecommunity applying the RRA method; (2) no difference between the participation of the community with highlevel cultural understanding applying the PRA method and that of the community with high level culturalunderstanding applying the RRA method; (3) no difference between the participation of the community with lowlevel cultural understanding applying the PRA method and that of the community with low level culturalunderstanding applying the RRA method; and (4) interaction between problem solving strategy and culturalunderstanding in the participation of the community in the conservation of the Trowulan archaeological site.

Kia tupu whakaritorito te tupu o te harakeke Set the overgrown bush alight and the new flax shoots will spring up A literal translation of this proverb illustrates the task of custodianship exercised by traditional weavers thus ensuring the sustainability of fax, arguably the most precious plant to the early Māori. One of the conditions required to ensure both continuity and quality of the resource is that the overgrowth be set alight. The practice of burning and clearing to assist new life is imperative to the durability of the plant and quality of the fibre. Metaphorically, the saying means clear off the old and bad that the new and good may grow vigorously. Proverbially, the process can also symbolize the regeneration, renewal, and development of the line of human descent and of the kin based corporate structures (Walker, 1996) of whānau, hapū and iwi. For Māori, the fax plant supplies medicine but more importantly, the woven product provided material for basic needs of shelter, clothing, hunting and gathering equipment, lashings and cord. Art forms such as decorated tukutuku interior design panels and whariki large woven mats of intricate design. Prized traditional cloaks are created from muka – a soft fibre produced from scraping the leaves of fax. The flax bush represents our continuity as a people sustained by episodes of renewal, upheaval and transformation (Walker, 1996). The introduction of fire generates two important processes: reduction of the inhibiting overgrowth poor quality for weaving and; nourishment of the plant enabling regeneration and development of new shoots. Setting alight the exterior of the bush is likened to the purging of Eurocentrism and its pervading ideologies and systems that mainly serve to keep indigenous peoples from flourishing. The fire is indigenous research, the overgrowth is patriarchal post colonial systems, nutrients in the ash are the resilient enriching knowledge customs and practices of indigenous peoples and the new shoots represent the coalition of newly developed and practiced western models that are harmonious with indigenous paradigms, knowledge and practices. The following discourse outlines priorities, challenges, new directions and notions of excellence through the narrative of two insider community researchers.

This paper documents the opportunities and challenges experienced by youth leaders and community agency partners in our community-based research project on youth engagement. Participants provided reflective statements, based on their experiences during the course of this multi-year project. Specifically, these insights focused on (a) youth-oriented and collaborative research processes (for example highlighting youth voice—“bottom-up process for youth by youth,” and co-learning and team work); (b) group dynamics (for example, common purpose, dealing with transformation, relationship and trust-building, and power issues); and (c) benefits for community youth-serving agencies and youth themselves, for example, capacity-building, grounded in youth experiences through participatory research, and knowledge translation and practical application—advancing research into action). The process of being involved in this research was coined an “amazing journey” to facilitate positive change and transformation within the youth and community partners. Understanding such youth engagement issues has implications for better supporting high-risk youth and their families in order to enhance the quality of their lives in a meaningful, sustainable way.
