Abstract The positioning technique employing the ubiquitous signals of opportunity of non-cooperative satellites does not send special navigation signals, instead it passively receives satellite signals as noise, presenting advantages of concealment and difficulty for potential attackers. Thus, this study investigates the ranging principle and model using non-cooperative communication satellites and a time difference estimation algorithm. The technology of time difference measurement under non-cooperative observation mode was determined and simulated. A test platform for time difference measurement was built to receive the signal from an unknown geostationary Earth orbit communication satellite and verify the ranging feasibility and performance. The ranging accuracy was found to be smaller than 6 m, as demonstrated by experimental data, which shows the viability of the proposed positioning technique for ranging technology.

Education tourism refers to a travel program to a location with the primary goal is to engage in learning activities directly associated with a tourist destination. The current study explores the practice of edutourism as implemented by Beruga’ Alam Institute which involved college students of English language education. This case study employed participant observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation to gain a deep understanding regarding the case under study. 13 participants consisting of 7 students of English language education, a program coordinator, 2 tour guides and the head of the institute took part in the interviews. Collected data were analyzed interactively to conclude the study. The findings of this study revealed that the concept of educational tourism practiced in Beruga’ Alam Institute reflected its five fundamental vision namely: a) well behaved; b) being insightful; c) being skillful; d) being self-reliant and; e) contribution. The promoted model of edutourism in Beruga’ Alam begins with meditation, followed by exploration, reflection and ended with a publication. These stages feature every edutour program. The edutour programs offered to college students include nature exploration, art and culture exploration, Kings and Saints (graveyards) visits, charity and social life exploration, staying with the locals, local figures visits and other programs. Students were also offered short courses like photography writing, cooking class, and public speaking during the tours. Finally, based on the participants’ reflection on their edutour experiences, all of them express positive views on the programs and were willing to participate in the future education tourism programs.

"Dude Ranch" is not an expression that carries a clear-cut meaning to everyone, for a dude ranch is neither a summer hotel nor a farm where dudes "ranch". . .. The most typical dude ranches of all the West are in this section of Wyoming. They range all the way from the most exclusive outfits that require references and advance reservations for not les than three weeks or a month at around $70 per week per person-including saddle horse and equipment, modern cabin, meals and other advantages-to the guest ranches or outfitters where accommodation may be had by the day, week or season. The person of moderate means can arrange his vacation in Jackson Hole to fit his purse. (Jackson Hole: Where to Go and What To See, published between 1929-1950) The American West is home to one of the most distinctive agricultural tourism activities in the world: dude ranching (Rees 2004). Dude ranching is the "single most unique contribution of the Rocky Mountain West to the ever-growing national vacation industry" (Roundy 1973), and it has been crucial in shaping the ways in which the West is perceived, working to effect continuing romantic notions of the American West (Rodnitzky, 1968). Though dude ranches can be found in the East (Zimmerman 1998), the South, the Southwest, California, Hawaii, and the Northwest, it is the Northern Rocky Mountain region, especially Montana and Wyoming, which forms the nucleus of dude ranch tourism (Rees 2005). However, unlike cattle ranching, agriculture, and mineral extraction, tourism has rarely received the attention it deserves in Wyoming, though it continues to be an important part of the Western image, as well as an important factor in the production and reproduction of that image. Just as dude ranching has failed to receive the attention it deserves in the state, it has also failed to receive that attention in one of the region's densest nexus or collection of dude ranching, Jackson Hole, and in particular, Grand Teton National Park (GTNP). Indeed, dude ranches have faired miserably in the first seventy-five years of the park's existence. As cultural landscapes dude ranches have been deemphasized in favor of celebrating the natural environment. This project's research has revealed that a vast majority of the thirty-three dude ranches that once functioned in what is now GTNP have disappeared, been auctioned off, burned, pulled down, or allowed to rot in situ. In the last decade, critics of federal cultural resource management philosophy sought to reject this often-fragmented approach to cultural heritage protection, and looked to embrace environmental and cultural resources as an indivisible whole (Hufford 1994) and this research project falls within that effort to produce a narrative that embraces both environmental and cultural resources to tell a story of the ways in which humans and nature have interacted through tourism in GTNP.

Development and application of a hiking trail an area of Serra da Canastra National Park ABSTRACT The Brazilian Cerrado is the second largest biome in Brazil, and spreads over eight different States, which plays a crucial role in the issue of water resources. The object of study is the remainder area of 200,000 hectares of Cerrado biome in the National Park of Serra da Canastra, a zone that has been under land disputes since 1972 as a result of the Brazilian Government’s inefficiency to implement a conservation unit covering the whole area. While this situation persists with no solution in sight, the area suffers environmental damage aggravated by the absence of protective measures and guidelines for conservation. Ecotourism is one of the most successful business activities carried out in the region and can function as an effective tool for environmental education and conservation of local natural resources and cultural heritage. It enables local communities to benefit financially from preserved natural resources, providing incentives for conservation. The objective is to create and tailor this area an ecotourism hiking trails to engage existing ecotourism businesses by linking them through an ecological path composed of trails in the area have not regularized in the Serra da Canastra National Park in São João Batista do Glória –MG. To this, they were covered existing paths, since mapping the open tracks that could be used; presenting the necessary times for each route divided into sections; the severities of the land conditions in order to implement the Technical Standard NBR 15505-2 Holidays with hiking activities; this standard suggested by the Ministry of Tourism and the Brazilian Association of Adventure Tourism Companies – ABETA. The creation and classification of the hiking trails and the availability of GPS data provides security for those who want to venture out on the trails and tends to boost tourism by entering the ecotourism hub of São João Batista do Glória in the roll of tourist destinations provided tracks suitable for hiking. Another benefit is the increased demand for local tour guides, more professional and aware tourism in the study area. The results will be decisive for the adequacy of the tourism product, generating quality visitors, greater ease in marketing scripts, resulting in more economic development to the region, sustainably. KEYWORDS: Cerrado; Ecotourism; NBR 15505-2; Serra da Canastra National Park; Hiking.

Training activities are related strictly to presentations, since each time you have to train someone, you need to present a set of topics to a group of people. Of course, training is a very different type of presentation for several reasons: The people that are listening to you usually are not skilled in the argument and, therefore, are not inclined to destroy your presentation with negative comments; the number of persons that are listening to you usually are few in the worst case (apart from academic lessons that are out of the scope of this book); and the duration of the training session is at least half a day and also can be several days, so that you can have time to socialize with all the people. Social aspects are very important during training, since interaction with people is not limited to the presentation time but also extends to all the coffee breaks and, in the case of a long training, to lunch or dinner, especially when you are training a partner or a customer at his or her site. Several of the tricks reported for presentations also are valid for training, especially the suggestions related to the speech, and therefore, such suggestions will not be discussed again in this section. For presentation, the main value that must be considered and addressed is communication, but in the training activity, some other values must be taken into account, such as simplicity and feedback. During a training session, simplicity and feedback are important as the communication capability, since simplicity usually improves and meliorates communication, and feedback aids in the dynamic revision of the presentation contents, improving simplicity and then communication. In order to have a clearer view of their influence, a short overview of these values follows.

Introduction: There is limited research regarding the benefits of mind-body practices such as meditation in hospitalized patients with an active diagnosis of any cancer type. Methods: We conducted a prospective, randomized, clinical trial (NCT03445572) comparing 2 meditative practices—Isha Kriya (IK) and meditative slow breathing (MSB)—versus wait-list controls in hospitalized cancer patients. Our aim was to determine the feasibility of meditation practice in cancer inpatients. Feasibility was defined as recruitment of more than 50% of the eligible patients approached and at least 60% of the patients having meditated at least 4 days by day 7. Acceptability was assessed on day 7 as a positive response on at least 2 questions on the modified Global Symptom Evaluation (GSE) scale. Results: Forty patients (39% of the eligible patients approached) consented to participate in the study and were randomly assigned to the MSB (n = 13), IK (n = 14), or wait-list (n = 13) groups. Of the 27 patients assigned to receive MSB and IK meditations, day 7 data were available for 18 patients. Fifteen of the 18 patients meditated at least once in the first 7 days, and most (12/15) responded positively on the GSE. Conclusion: Both IK and MSB meditations were acceptable among the hospitalized cancer patients. Feasibility for enrollment and practice was likely not achieved due to limited uninterrupted time for daily meditation, high levels of morbidity in some participants, and limited research staff support. Shorter term outcomes should be explored in future meditation studies involving hospitalized cancer patients.
