Abstract: The encyclical Charity in truth is complex and formulated in articles. On the one hand the text is developed according to a deductive method that was typical of the early social encyclicals, that is, it starts with principles from which the conclusions are gradually derived. But, on the other hand, it also follows the inductive method – so clearly used by Pope John XXIII in the Mater et magistra a characteristic of the seeing, judging and acting. What Bento XVI emphasizes on the document under analysis is that “without the truth, charity slides into sentimentality. Love becomes an empty shell to be arbitrarily filled and becomes a culture without the truth” (n. 3) reducing love to a private and restricted ambit. Consequently, if there is no truth with regard to what is good/bad for man, the search and the effort to build an associate life can only change but continues to be in discordance in order to impose its own individualist interests. For, “without truth, and without trust and love in favour of the truthful, there is no consciousness and social responsibility and we fall under the power of private interests and of the logic of power. Then its disaggregating effects fall onto society and more so if it is a society facing the challenge of coexisting with cultural plurality and going through difficult and complex moments, such as the present ones, in a growing process of globalization” (n. 5). The encyclical emphasizes the valorization of the activities and organizations characterized by cooperation, by a friendly economy and the various activities of the third sector. It is not only addressed to Catholics, but to all Christians and people of good will, calling on the various religions to contribute in a common effort to create processes of synergy in benefit of a better world and a better society.

The present research featured a functional comparative analysis of egocentric language units in contemporary Russian translated narratives, namely six Russian translations of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The study was based on parallel corpora within the Russian National Corpus and a set of digitized translations. The research objective was to present the classification of egocentric units applicable to the analysis of translations, as well as to describe the ways of combining various linguistic methods of studying egocentrics in translated narratives. Egocentric units were studied within several semantic clusters: actualizing (deictic), evaluative, epistemic, modal, and interactive. Using the heuristic method, the authors found and counted the contexts containing egocentric units of a certain type within the parallel corpora. The inductive method made it possible to reveal the trends based on the data obtained. The hypotheses were verified using the deductive method. The research was based on wide narrative contexts and took into the account the writing style, the genre and composition of the text, the use of egocentrics in the target language, and the individual translation strategies. The paper focuses on the lexical markers of uncertainty added by the Russian translators of Mark Twain. They are often used as additional markers of focalization in Russian translations. On the one hand, this phenomenon deals with specific ways of foregrounding subjectivity in the Russian language; on the other hand, it reveals the strategies of building-up suspense applied by individual translators.

Summary The importance of close and harmonious collaboration between public authorities on the one hand, and the various associations, organizations, and institutions established independently of government initiative, and generally called « intermediate bodies », on the other, has always been stressed in Catholic social teaching. Two reasons prompt us to devote our annual Labour Day Message to this basic theme. We wish to set it out in terms as concrete as possible, and to review it in the light of the recent and memorable social encyclicals of the late Pope John XXIII, Mater et Magistra and Pacem in Terris.

The objectives of this research are to know whether there is any significant difference in students’ writing achievement in Balikpapan State Polytechnic between the students who taught using inductive method and those taught using deductive method and to know which group has higher achievement, the group taught using inductive method or the one taught using deductive method. The research methodology used experimental method. The population of this research is the third semester students of mechanical engineering in Balikpapan State Polytechnic. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling and in collecting the data used a test. In analyzing the data used t-test formula. The result of the research shows that there is a significant difference in the achievement of students’ writing skill between the students taught using inductive method and those taught using deductive method. The mean of the experimental group taught using inductive method is 83 while the mean of the control group taught using deductive method is 70. It shows that the mean score of experimental group is higher than the control group. Therefore, it can be concluded that the students taught using inductive method have higher achievement than those taught using deductive. Key word: comparative, deductive method , inductive method, teaching writing

The Second Vatican Council was a unique event in the history of the Roman Catholic Church. Initiated by Pope John XXIII, it was intended to make the Roman Catholic Church more open to the contemporary society and bring it closer to the people. The principal aim of the council was the so called aggiornamento (updating). The phenomenon of updating the ecclesiastical life consisted in the following: on the one hand, modernization of the life of the Church and closer relations with the secular world; on the other hand, preserving all the traditions upon which the ecclesiastical life was founded. Hence in the Council’s documents we find another, French word ressourcement meaning ‘return to the origins’ based on the Holy Scripture and the works of the Church Fathers. The aggiornamento phenomenon emerged during the Second Vatican Council due to the movement within the Catholic Church called nouvelle theologie (French for “new theology”). Its representatives advanced the ideas that became fundamental in the Council’s decisions. The nouvelle theologie was often associated with modernism as some of the ideas of its representatives seemed to be very similar to those of modernism. However, what made the greatest difference between the two movements was their attitude towards the tradition. For the nouvelle theologie it was very important to revive Christianity in its initial version, hence their striving for returning to the sources, for the oecumenical movement, for better relations with non-Catholics and for liturgical renewal. All these ideas can be traced in the documents of the Second Vatican Council, and all this is characterized by the word aggiornamento.

Sahih al-Bukhari is considered the most important hadith reference among Sunnis, and by this the importance of the study related to it appears, and the sahih has been of high standing throughout the ages. But in the modern era, he began to delve into it in terms to the inappropriateness of his hadiths in protest, and this scientific paper will monitor the features of contemporary readings by stating their methods, types, and derivation. The importance of the study: on the one hand the need to know these contemporary reading to monitor them and highlight their role in challenging the Sahih and the Sunnah in general. Methodology of the study: the paper relied on the inductive analytical method by collecting data and analyzing it according to the nature of the study. With the use of the deductive method by taking a comprehensive view of these contemporary readings. Problem the study: what are the most important contemporary readings of Sahih al-Bukhari as a stab and insult? What are types, methods, and derivation of these readings? What are the applied images outlined in the appeal against Sahih al- Bukhari? To answer this, it was necessary to develop five sections. Namely: the status of Sahih al-Bukhari among the people of hadith, the emergence of contemporary readings of Sahih al-Bukhari, the most important contemporary schools of contention in Sahih al-Bukhari, pictures of conclusion with findings and recommendations. The results of the paper are represented in the necessity to pay attention to all the sciences of the Sunnah, to intensify studies on Sahih al- Bukhari, and the call to establish a global scientific center to monitor and confront contemporary readings of the Sunnah.

Latvia from 2008 till 2013 experienced serious financial crisis. The results of the crisis were significant financial loss in banking area, plenty of foreclosures, plenty of corporate and private bankruptcy processes. One of issues Latvia faced in the foreclosure proceedings was the reaction of debtors – some of them used all possible means (including illegal) to obstruct foreclosure. One of such means is a conclusion of fictitious employmentcontracts on the mortgaged real estate maintenance and later obtaining a court judgment on a wage recovery. The aim of the paper is to research how fictitious employmentcontracts are used and to propose a solution for the fictitious labour agreements issue. Methods of qualitative research were employed in the paper – comparative method, analytic method, inductive method, and deductive method.

Sustainable cities will require major infrastructure investments coupled with widespread behavioral change. Examples of smart, green technologies abound, but evidence for actual use lags. This partly owes to the tension between public support and private choices: individuals thinking as members of the public may see solutions as smart for the city, but thinking of their private interests may see those same solutions as not smart for themselves. This also owes to the disconnect between private and public choices, on the one hand, and the workings of complex systems, on the other. Even if public and private interests align, existing built environment systems may resist change. This article examines public perception and use of the Atlanta BeltLine, a pioneering sustainability initiative to transform the auto-dependent city into a greener, denser city. Analyzing a general public survey reveals widespread support for the BeltLine alongside reticence from residents to change their commute or greenspace use. The findings also show that drivers of public support and prospective use of the BeltLine differ. Public support may be insufficient if individual use decisions do not follow. Yet, private adoption decisions may not follow until and unless the systems in which they are embedded are already changing.

“Music is a world within itself a language we all understand “– Steve Wonder. According to these words if this language called “Music” can be used in the teaching of a foreign language it justifies the words of Plato “Music is a more potent instrument than any other form of education because rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul”. This article aims To highlight the advantages of “Vocalese” in the teaching of French as a foreign langue (FLE) – Francais Langue Etrangere and to structure a formative and fun FLE course through the exploitation of a song aiming at functional, linguistic and socio cultural objectives. Why use songs? Why music? Music is a therapy. It is a communication far more powerful than words, far more immediate and far more efficient” – Yehudi Menuhin. Having understood well the advantages of using songs in the teaching of FLE, let us now analyze the concept the “Vocalese”. What is Vocalese? Vocalese is a style or musical genre of jazz singing wherein words are sung note for note to melodies that were originally created by a soloist's improvisation. Why use Vocalese? Man can learn nothing except by going from the known to the unknown – Claude Bernard (French physiologist). In “Vocalese” one is familiar with the tune. When this (known) tune is combined with new lyrics (the unknown) learning is facilitated. Advantages of “Vocalese” in the concept of teaching - Vocalese uses the deductive method of teaching in lieu to the inductive method of teaching. Music is to soul what words are to mind and if these words can be altered it is nothing more than the alteration of the mind – the very first step needed in the teaching of any language. Thus the duty of every teacher is not to teach but to facilitate teaching in accordance to the words of Robert Frost “There are two kinds of teachers: the kind that fills you with so much quail shot that you can’t move and the kind that just gives you a little prod behind and you jump to the skies”. I conclude with the words of Albert Einstein “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge” and I as a teacher would like to awaken this joy via music and would prefer to be called an “Educational Rock Star”

The article tells the story of Danish cooperative housing’s radical transformation from a collective housing good and commons to a financialized asset during the 2000s when neoliberal housing reforms were introduced and the mortgage finance market was deregulated. Processes of financialization of collectively owned housing have to be understood not only in relation to the dynamics of the surrounding housing market and political-economic changes but also to the communities and social relations that they presuppose and feed off, often in contradictory ways, as people are motivated by both solidarity and private interests. Housing cooperatives have existed as a form of collective housing throughout the 20th century, balanced, on the one hand, between the reproduction of kin, family and local communities and the common good and, on the other, between the market and the reproduction of the base for both families, local communities and the larger public sharing the housing commons. During the 2000s, processes of financialization brought the market and the cooperatives’ base so close together, primarily through new mortgaging opportunities, that families and communities have lost their savings and the base has been undermined, both in a material and an immaterial sense.
