The issue of thermal comfort and its subjective feelings inside a building is becoming more and more important in the modern world. It is caused by the desire to create optimal conditions in places where people stay. The article presents two methods, indirect and direct, which are typically used in the research projects. These methods enable to assess the thermal sensations of people and compare the feelings of the respondents with the value of PMV (the value of human thermal sensations) calculated using the formula from the ISO 7730 standard and the questionnaire surveys.

The experienced teacher has a bag of tricks of the trade at her command every day and uses a wide variety of them in the daily work of the classroom. You have doubtless heard a great deal recently about the discovery technique because in the hands of a skilled teacher it is said to provide (1) interest for the learner, and (2) satisfaction to the teacher. In our modern world, methods used a generation ago do not seem to create the same interest on the part of the student. The student of today needs to feel that today's methods are the newest, best, and most effective. With the advent of television, scientific progress, electronic computing machines, space satellites, supersonic speeds, intercontinental missiles and the like, he has a right to expect teachers who are alert, well informed, specialists in their fields and who can employ effective, modern methods of instruction.

The article is dedicated to the capabilities on introducing modern methods and pedagogical technologies (the technologies ofdistance studying) including the ones that are used in the course of the training of the Armed Forces of the NATO membercountries and which could be adapted to the peculiarities of training cadets (students) in accordance to the program of “Civilmilitary relations”.There’re arguments provided, which favor the implementation of technologies of distance studying in the system of militaryeducation which will facilitate the engagement of a larger number of participants to obtain and permanently improve theprofessional military education; the more operative reaction to changes, that are currently ongoing in the modern world andeducation; the provision of qualitively new educational services by providing access to informational resources including theones that are developing “soft skills” as competences which are the most required ones for modern specialists. There’s a presented analyses of the open educational platforms with the aim to identify courses which could be used todevelop “soft skills” within the framework of training specialists in accordance to the program “Civil-Military relations. It hasbeen determined that the competences “soft skills” are required in the first place for self-development, they represent the bestpractices of the system of “life-long study” and most certainly have got to be an element of combined studying which happens tobe the most suitable for military education. There have been arguments provided in favor of the fact that an important feature of training specialists in the field of civilmilitarycooperation is the intensification of international cooperation in the field of education with the prominent countries inthe world and the appropriate structures of NATO member countries, the intensification of participation of personnel in terms ofinternational exercises , training missions, trainings, educational programs, consultations, internships and other events mainly, within the NATO program “The development of military education” and Ukraine-NATO program with the professionaldevelopment of civil-personnel of the security and defense sector with the engagement of instructors and teachers who havebeen deployed with this purpose.

Cardiovascular diseases are one of the main death causes in the modern world. Forthis reason, the determination of the concentration in the serum of particular proteins, called cardiac markers, is vital both for determining the extent of the damage after anischemic incident as well as for predicting a cardiac disease. The aim of this workwas to develop a method to simultaneously detect two markers that can help inpredicting a heart attack, namely C-reactive protein (CRP) and D-Dimers usingantibodies microarrays in combination with an optical immunosensor based on whitelight reflectance spectroscopy and allows the detection of biomolecular reactions inreal time without the use of labels. In particular, detection is based on monitoringchanges in interference spectrum created upon reflection of white light on a siliconsurface covered with a suitable film of transparent material on which the analytespecificantibodies are immobilized. At first, suitable antibodies were selected throughthe development of non-competitive enzyme immunoassays for the two analytes inmicrotitration wells. After that, the immunochemical assays were transferred to theoptical sensor, wherein the thickness and composition of the transparent filmdeposited on the silicon surface as well as the method for the chemical modificationof the surface and immobilization of antibodies were optimized. Subsequently, all theparameters of immunochemical determinations with the sensor were optimizedincluding antibody concentrations, immunoreaction time, flow rate, etc. By applying the optimal conditions, calibration curves for both markers were obtained and therepeatability and reliability of the measurements performed with the developedimmunosensor were evaluated. Finally, discrete zones of the two specific antibodiesagainst CRP and D-Dimers were created by spotting them onto the same surfaceand the surfaces were used for the simultaneous detection of the two analytes inserum samples. The values determined for both analytes were in good agreementwith those determined for the same samples with reference methods, demonstratingthe reliability of the determinations performed with the developed immunosensor andits potential for application in the simultaneous determination of two markers inclinical samples.

New halogen-containing oligoethers based on 1,1-hydroxy-2,2-di (4-hydroxyphenyl) ethylene and 1,1-dichloro-2,2-di (4-hydroxyphenyl) ethylene of various degrees of condensation were synthesized by the method of high-temperature polycondensation. Features are investigated and optimal conditions of synthesis of new oligoethers are defined. On the basis of polysulfone compositions with various maintenance of oligoethers are prepared. With usage of the modern methods of researches, it is shown that new composites surpass industrial polysulfone in the main physical and chemical and production characteristics.

The firefighters work in extreme environmental conditions and have to solve a wide variety of problems during their work. These can be rescuing and firefighting actions or removing effects of accidents or natural disasters. In order to protect, not only others but also themselves, they must be focused as much as possible in order to avoid mistakes. Optimal conditions for such work could create so-called thermal comfort, characterized by a thermoneutral state of a body. Lack of thermal comfort can also cause an increased number of mistakes. That is why it is so important to select the right protection and to know the impact of the protective clothing (special clothing) on the thermal sensation of firefighters. This article presents the requirements for special clothing for firefighters, the results of thermal insulation tests of the above-mentioned clothing and the analysis of thermal sensations of its users (by PMV index).

The thermal sensations of people differ from each other, even if they are in the same thermal conditions. The research was carried out in a didactic teaching room located in the building of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering in Poland. Tests on the temperature were carried out simultaneously with questionnaire surveys. The purpose of the survey was to define sensations regarding the thermal comfort of people in the same room, in different conditions of internal and external temperatures. In total 333 questionnaires were analyzed. After the discriminant and neural analyses it was found that it is not possible to forecast the thermal comfort assessment in the room based on the analyzed variables: gender, indoor air temperature, external wall radiant temperature, and outdoor air temperature. The thermal comfort assessments of men and women were similar and overlapped. The results of this study confirm that under the same thermal conditions about 85% of respondents assess thermal comfort as good, and about 15% of respondents assess thermal comfort as bad. The test results presented in this article are similar to the results of tests carried out by other authors in other climatic conditions.

This article deals with the new forms of communication with the dead which appeared in our modern world as a result of technical progress. These are the contact forms based on using a lot of different technical devices, such as photo, audio and, less often, video ones. Most of them are based both on socalled Electronic Voice Phenomenon, “discovered” in the 1960s by Friedrich Jurgenson and spiritualistic photography which was very popular in the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century. In the 1917s, all of these types of communications were named “instrumental transcommunication”. The article observes the main methods and process content of instrumental transcommunication, justification of this phenomenon by its researchers, relations between the roles of operator and devices’ functions in this process. The author also considers the researchers’ world view for justification of their experiences and results, relations of modern methods with the ones used by spiritualism followers, and purposes set by the people who practice different methods of instrumental transcommunication. The author pays attention to source of specified methods and changes which occurred in separate ways of communication with the dead, their appearance, and their use by Russian researches in our time. The paper questions the possibility of assignment of this way of communication with the dead to necromantic practice, and of relation of the practicing communities to mystical and esotherical ones. Consideration of all of these questions is important for understanding the changes which we see in traditional magic practice depending on technical progress in modern society
