Flexibility is a strategy that human resources is currently using and it is one of the tools for achieving goals in companies, whereas, the workplace environment is the perception that people have of a set of elements that are around activities you do at your workplace. This research began in August 2018, and when integrating the preliminary results, the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, which lead to do a comparative study in order to know the validity and reliability of the scales used in the survey, as well as identifying the relationship between the variables, flexible work environment, sense of belonging, job satisfaction, clarity of goals, work pressure, and adaptation to change. An online questionnaire had designed with 42 items, which had applied at two different times, first in November 2018 and then May 2020, obtaining 332 pieces of data. Finally, it may be concluded that the scales did show statistically significant validity and reliability indicators, and that there is a relationship between the various variables used in the research.

Abstract Purpose This mixed-methods study delved into the relationship between orthorexia nervosa (ON) and Instagram. Methods Two quantitative data sources were used: content analysis of pictures using #orthorexia (n = 3027), and an online questionnaire investigating the experience of ON and the use of Instagram of people sharing ON-related content on Instagram (n = 185). Following, interviews (n = 9) were conducted with people posting ON-related content on Instagram and self-identifying as having (had) ON. Results People who share ON-related content on Instagram were found to be primarily young women (questionnaire = 95.2% females, mean age 26.2 years; interviews = 100% females, mean age 28.4 years), who were found to be heavy social media users and favor Instagram over other platforms. Questionnaire respondents agreed in defining ON as an obsession with a diet considered healthy, with bio-psycho-social negative consequences, though those who self-identified as having (had) ON were more likely to point out the negative impairments of ON. Interviewees deemed Instagram partially responsible for the development of ON. Instead, they agreed that Instagram encourages problem realization. Content analysis showed that ON is encoded in pictures of ‘food’, ‘people’, ‘text’ and ‘other.’ Interviewees revealed that they started posting to recover, share information, help others, and they felt inspired to post by other accounts. A sense of belonging to the #orthorexia community emerged, where people share values and ideals, and seek validation from others. Conclusion Conversations around #orthorexia on Instagram generate supportive communities aiding recovery. Individuals use Instagram for helping others and themselves recovering from ON. Understanding how people help each other, manage their health, cope with symptoms, and undertake recovery can inform the implementation of therapeutic interventions for ON. Level of evidence Level III, evidence obtained from well-designed cohort or case–control analytic studies.

Clinical clerkship students are one of the communities who are always in the hospital environment and have been provided with fire disaster management materials through training and simulations. The hospital has provided complete fire disaster management facilities and infrastructure. However, the problem is that there is no information about clinical clerkship student preparedness for fire disasters in hospitals. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between perceptions of the availability of hospital facilities and infrastructure to the level of fire disaster preparedness among clinical clerkship students in the Zainoel Abidin Hospital. This study used an analytical method with a cross-sectional design. The sample of this study was the clinical clerkship students of the Faculty of Medicine, Syiah Kuala University, who were taken by proportional stratified random sampling, totaling 117 people. The data was collected using an online questionnaire that has been tested for its validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed univariate and bivariate using the chi-square test. The results showed that the clinical clerkship student had a good perception regarding facilities and infrastructure in the hospital (68.4%), while the attitude of preparedness to face fire disasters in the hospital showed a high level (80.3%). The Chi-square test results showed that there was a significant relationship between the clinical clerkship student perception regarding facilities and infrastructure in hospitals and fire disaster preparedness (p = 0,000). The conclusion of this study showed that the good perceptions of clinical clerkship students about the availability of fire disaster management facilities and infrastructure increase fire disaster preparedness in the hospital. This study recommends the importance of training and fire disaster management simulation to be continuously carried out on clinical clerkship students to improve the quality of disaster preparedness communities.

Introduction: Experts consider the physical condition of the workplace and work pressure as important variables affecting job satisfaction. This study aims to investigate the relationship between workplace physical condition and work stress with job satisfaction. Materials and Methods: This research is applied in terms of purpose, and according to the nature of the subject and its objectives, is descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of this survey is all employees of one of Assaluyeh Petrochemical Companies in 2020. The sample's size is 290 people who were selected by simple random sampling method. Job Descriptive Index (JDI has been used to measure the concept of job satisfaction and its components, Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) and the Job Characteristics Model (JCM) were also used. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to measure the variables of physical conditions of work environment and work pressure SPSS software was used to analyze the data and descriptive statistical methods such as one-dimensional tables, mean and inferential methods such as factor analysis, correlation coefficient, and regression were used. Results: The average score of job satisfaction is 67.04, the physical work environment is 40.69, and work pressure is 60.17. The correlation between job satisfaction and physical conditions of the workplace and work stress, at a significance level of 0.01, is equivalent to 0.407 and -0.428, respectively. R = 0.496 and R2 = 0.246 were calculated. The regression coefficients are 0.298 and -0.321, respectively. Conclusion: The results show that the job satisfaction score is above average, the physical condition of the workplace is below average, and the workload is above average. There is a direct relationship between job satisfaction and physical conditions of the work environment and an inverse relationship between job satisfaction and work pressure.

The current interest in work–life balance (WLB) emanates from the perception that extreme workplace demands can have negative consequences for employees in other important life spheres such as family and leisure. Changes in society that increase the numbers of individuals with significant responsibilities both at home and at work have fuelled further inquiry into the interdependencies between work and home life. Much of the work-life research has been conducted in Western countries, so it is unknown whether theories, models and findings are valid in other settings despite the few studies from emerging economies such as Asia and Africa. The present study examined the effect of the determinants of WLB on individual performance in a developing country’s context. Data were collected from a large logistic firm to identify the link between work environment, work pressure, discrimination, leave options, flexible work hours, employee benefits, and individual performance. Results revealed positive relationships of work environment, leave options, flexible work hours, and employee benefits with individual performance while it was negatively related to discrimination and work pressure. The findings suggested that a pragmatic work-life balance is required to have an increased level of performance. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.   Keywords: Performance, work environment, work pressure, work-life balance.

Malaysia has recorded the second highest involuntary turnover rate at 6% and third highest voluntary rate at 6.5% in South East Asia. Employee loyalty becomes critical towards employer. Thus, the purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between career development, compensation, job security, work environment and employee loyalty. In conducting this study, convenience sampling technique has been employed and respondents have been chosen in the area of Kuala Lumpur. Hypothesis were tested using regression analysis by using Smart-PLS. Based on the result, career development, compensation and job security were found to be significant with employee loyalty. However, work environment was found to be not significant with employee loyalty. It is suggested for future research to explore other variables in order to find the factors contributed in employee loyalty.
