The article, based on the example of the personal diary of a Soviet provincial woman of the mid-20th century, considers such important problems for cultural history and historical anthropology as genesis and dynamics of the ideas of contemporaries of a particular historical epoch about happiness, love and time. It is shown that in their interpretations presented in T. D. Rozhkova’s diary historically, culturally, socially and personally conditioned propositions peacefully coexisted. The ratio of the typically Soviet, typically feminine, typically intellectual and purely private is not amenable for rigorous assessment. Nevertheless, no matter how tricky the interweaving of the normative and the casual in T. D. Rozhkova’s notions of happiness, love and time was, in general, they certainly gravitated towards a universal understanding of happiness, love and time as the most important aspects of human life, firmly established in the sphere of individual and collective imagination. At the same time, despite the fact that the diarist’s main task was clearly not the task of objectively reflecting reality, her diary turned out to be filled with the zeitgeist. First of all, it is exposed by rhetorical models and narrative templates used by T. D. Rozhkova in her speculations on happiness, love and time — speculations that captured that an ordinary Soviet person lived a rich inner life, and his or her “Sovietness” was not something one-dimensional at all.

Hans-Georg Beck (1910-1999), the most outstanding 20th-century German Byzantinist, has gone a long way from a Benedictine monk to professor in Munich, a creator of a comprehensive conception of Byzantine general and cultural history. The problems of ecclesiastical history and theology were in the center of his scientific activity from its first steps on. As a student of Martin Grabmann, a prominent historian of Western scholasticism, Beck appropriated the Thomist view of theology. That is why he denied the real distinction between essence and energies in God, which had been disclosed and analyzed by Gregory Palamas. If in his first 1935 article, The Struggle for the Thomist Concept of Theology in Byzantium, Beck criticized Palamism «from outside», i. e., from the neoscholastic viewpoint, it was later then, in his secular thesis of 1952, that the German scholar tried to censure the Palamite doctrine «from inside» by making the case of its incompatibility with the Chalcedonian Orthodoxy.

Research on the Stilsko settlement (Mykolaiiv district, Lviv region) was interrupted at the end of the 20th century due to a lack of funds. Gradually, around this important monument started to accumulate insufficiently substantiated hypotheses and fabrications, which were transformed into stereotypes. In particular, this concerns statements about the capital of White Croatia, cave pre-Christian temples and cave monasteries, a system of locks on the river Kolodnytsia. The author analyzed the discussion in European science about Great Croatia in Ukrainian Prykarpattia and the localization of White Croatia. Attention is drawn to the attempts of Polish historiography to prove that this region belonged only to the Lendians, as well as to the development of the latest discussion on Croatian ethnogenesis. Based on this analysis, it is stated that White Croatia was located on the Upper Vistula, Upper Oder, Saale, and White Elster, and Stolsko (Stilsko) in the 10th century was built as the center of the Croatian principality, which was formed, probably after poborani joined western zhytychi-trebovliany. The fortifications remained unfinished and were obtained by the Kyivan army in 992/993. No grounds for claiming the existence of cave temples, especially in the Austrian fortifications built in the early 20th century, were found, and hypotheses about their existence were found baseless, as well as the existence of locks, which were unnecessary on the river Kolodnytsia. However, the mysteries of Stilsko are only started because a certain source (the notebook of Metropolitan Theognostus) noted the existence of Stilsko, which paid 30 hryvnias to the metropolitan treasury around 1331. During the struggle for the Romanov heritage in 1370-1377 not revived as an urban settlement. The article states that its localization remains the main task for further research. Keywords: Stilsko, Great Croatia, White Croatia, cave temples, sluices, Feognost.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to present a framework for the adaptive re-use of wheat milling buildings setting in modern urban contexts in Jordan. This paper also aims to highlight the industrial heritage with a focus on wheat milling buildings, which date back to the beginning of the 20th century, as they document and represent significant aspects of the socio-cultural history of Jordan.Design/methodology/approachThe approach to this statement will be through a theoretical investigation into the notion of industrial heritage, a historical overview of wheat milling in Jordan, as well as a case study analysis to support the theoretical framework following a value-based approach for the case of Baboor Al-Qisar. Baboor Al-Qisar is a wheat milling structure that the Department of Antiquities (DoA) is willing to adaptively reuse as an industrial museum that tells the local narrative of wheat milling and points out the non-physical values associated with the building’s original use.FindingsThe paper introduces a framework for wheat milling buildings incorporation within the modern urban context as industrial heritage museums or socio-cultural facilities. The findings offer a reflection on approaching similar case studies as a tool for their conservation, management and promotion to create new tourist destinations as a form of sustainable urban regeneration.Originality/valueThis research bridges the gap between practice and theory in terms of adaptive reuse strategies within the Jordanian local context. No similar studies have been done on wheat milling structures from the 20th century in the country with local community engagement as an integral part that is carried out within the functionality and future use of the site.

The purpose of this article is to analyze natural conditions as a significant factor of influence on everyday life, practices and strategies for the survival of the population of Ukrainian lands in the second half of the 16th – 17th centuries. The main task of the study is to reconstruct the environment of the second half of the 16th – 17th centuries and to identify the mutual influence of man and nature. Research methodology: the following methods were used: general scientific – historical and logical, analysis and synthesis, generalization; special – historical-systemic, historical reconstruction, which consists in drawing up a fairly complete picture of everyday life from disparate facts. Scientific novelty: the natural factor in the pre-industrial era is significantly underestimated in the studies of everyday life and is one of the most significant in the impact on human life, but it is ignored in modern historical works. Therefore, the analysis of the natural conditions of everyday life, especially in the early modern era, is relevant today. Conclusions. The analysis of the influence of natural conditions on everyday life of the population shows that a significant part of the population in one way or another was engaged in the transformation of nature in their production practices and was largely dependent on the environment. In the minds of the population, nature was seen as an endless resource for consumption. When assessing the influence of nature on everyday life in the second half of the 16th – 17th centuries, emphasis should be placed on the fact that during this period there was a combination of reproduction and appropriating forms of the economy in everyday production practices. The richness of natural resources, the fertility of the soil helped people to survive, but everyday survival was often due to the merciless exploitation of nature, especially in forests and wild animals. Parallel to this, there are attempts to protect resources from overuse by granting privileges to a limited number of consumers and legislative regulation. In general, the environmental circumstances of everyday life of the specified period cannot be characterized as stable due to the reduction of forest, plowing of virgin lands, excessive extermination of wild animals.

The local reconstruction of river channels may pose obstacles of flood flow, local eddy currents, or high flow velocity which pose potential threats to human life and infrastructures nearby. In the design of such projects, the effects of local reconstruction of the river channel on flooding are often evaluated by the one-dimensional method, which is based on the formula of one-dimensional nonuniform flow. In this study, a two-dimensional hydrodynamic model based on shallow water equations is employed to investigate the impacts of river reconstruction on flooding in the Ba River, China. The finite volume method and an unstructured triangular mesh are used to solve the governing equations numerically. The numerical model is validated by comparison with the results of a physical model of 1 : 120 scale. The backwater effects and impacts of flood flow fields under two flood frequencies are analyzed by comparing the numerical results before and after local reconstruction. The results show that the backwater length under both 10-year and 100-year floods can be reached up to the upstream boundary of the computational domain. However, the maximum water level rises are limited, and the levees in this river channel are safe enough. The flow velocity fields under both floods are changed obviously after local reconstruction in the Ba River. Areas with the potential for scour and deposition of the river bed are also pointed out. The findings of this study are helpful for the evaluation of flood risks of the river.

The ministries of Diakonia, Koinonia and Marturia are the foundation of a church, meaning that a church that is aware of its duty and calling on this earth must rely on these three ministries. It can be said that the true main duty of the church is reflected in the ministry of Diakonia, Koinonia and Marturia. Based on this main task, the church must be able to demonstrate and impart the life of Diakonia, Koinonia and Marturia with the aim of impacting and changing human life. This is what the Ressud Sudirman Surabaya Indonesian Christian Church is aware of in the context of its duties and vocation as a church that has been present in the midst of the Surabaya community, of course its presence is required to fulfill God's plan to become salt and light, a blessing for the surrounding community in general and the congregation in particular. through Diakonia, Koinonia and Marturia's ministry. This research uses a descriptive method. The author directly conducts research, both literature and field research. Bibliography that contains various theoretical data related to topic material from various sources of information which contains important statements to support the accuracy of the research. In addition, this research is also complemented by field research either through questionnaires or direct interviews with several trusted sources including congregants, church activists, servants, sympathizers so that the results of the research present a strong and accurate combination because they are supported by strong theoretical aspects but are also followed by field research evidence. The purpose of this study: first to realize how important the services of Diakonia, Koinonia and Marturia are for the growth of the Indonesian Christian Church in Ressud Surabaya in particular and to the Lord's church in general. Second, the Church is aware of her duty and calling on this earth which has been mandated by God to be her witness so that the impact is evident in church growth both in quality and quantity. Third, the Church of God has the correct concept of the impact of the ministry of Diakonia, Koinonia and Marturia on church growth from the perspective of Missiology, Theology and Ecclesiology. Based on the research conducted by the author, the results obtained are how the extraordinary impact of the services of Diakonia, Koinonia and Marturia on the growth of the Indonesian Christian Church Ressud Surabaya.   This is evidenced by the increasing number of church members from year to year and the increasing quality of the congregation's faith. By having a correct understanding of the ministry of Diakonia, Koinonia and Marturia, the congregation will be more active and diligent in carrying out the duties and responsibilities that have been mandated by God to become a blessing, to become salt and light in this world, in various forms of diaconial services such as selling rice. cheap for the congregation and partly distributed by the surrounding community, cheap medical treatment and even free for the congregation and the poor by establishing a polyclinic "Waluyojati", scholarships for underprivileged congregations ranging from elementary, junior high and even vocational levels, house renovation program held 1 a year one to two times for the congregation. In the form of Koinonia, it can be seen from the congregation that is divided into several sectors or regions, the congregation will continue to grow and increase even out of the city, namely Lamongan, Denpasar and even to Batam, the Denpasar congregation was institutionalized in 2003, while in the city of Surabaya the Indonesian Christian Church Lebak Jaya was matured in 1994 and the Kutisari area in 1998 was instituted simultaneously in 1998 the Batam Indonesian Christian Church was also institutionalized where the Batam Indonesia Christian Church is the fruit of the ministry of several Indonesian Christian Churches including the Indonesian Christian Church Ressud in it. The goal is to be a witness through this service, but the most important of this research is that the Indonesian Christian Church congregation in Ressud is a congregation that has marturia diaconiality, while the implementation of Marturia directly or verbally is not optimal, this is also acknowledged by the council is a local church based on interviews and research based on a questionnaire.

In connection with the development of molecular nanobioelectronics, the main task of which is the construction of electronic devices based on biological molecules, the problems of charge transfer in such extended molecules as DNA are of increasing interest. The relevance of studying the charges motion in one-dimensional molecular chains is primarily associated with the possibility of using these chains as wires in nanoelectronic devices. Current carriers in one-dimensional chains are self-trapped electronic states, which have the form of polaron formations. In this paper we investigate the motion of the Holstein polaron in the process of its uniform motion along the chain in a constant electric field. It is known that during uniform motion along the chain in a weak electric field, the polaron experiences small oscillations of its shape. These oscillations are associated with the discreteness of the chain and are due to the presence of the Peierls-Nabarro potential in the discrete chain. Previous investigations have shown that for certain parameters of the chain, there is the possibility of uniform charge motion in a constant electric field over very large distances. The charge motion with a constant velocity is possible for small values of the electric field intensity. With an increase in the electric field intensity, the charge goes into an oscillatory regime of motion with Bloch oscillations. The calculations performed in this work showed that the elements of Bloch oscillations also appear during stationary motion of the polaron along the chain. Thus, it is shown that the Holstein polaron, uniformly moving along the chain in a constant electric field, experiences not only Peierls-Nabarro oscillations, but also low-amplitude oscillations with a Bloch period.

Introduction. Evgeny Poselyanin, a well-known publicist and spiritual writer in pre-revolutionary Russia, having traveled the path of doubts in faith and received a spiritual revival in Optina Pustyn, became a participant in the discussion between the intelligentsia and representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church at the beginning of the 20th century. The ecclesiastical nature of E. Poselyanin’s aesthetic consciousness determined the main task of all his work, which was to reproduce and transmit the spiritual world of Russian Orthodoxy. Aim and objectives. The work of the famous spiritual writer and publicist of the late 19th – early 20th centuries. Evgeny Nikolaevich Poselyanin, completely forgotten for several decades of the Soviet era, requires «rehabilitation» and serious scientific research. Material and methods. The article examines the collection of biographies of E. Poselyanin «Russian ascetics of the 19th century» (1900 edition). The research is written in the mainstream of historical poetics. Results and discussion. Poselyanin’s literary activity reflected the most important spiritual and cultural searches of his contemporaries and artistic and aesthetic tendencies of the late 19th – early 20th centuries. Religious revival of the early 20th century led to a shift in boundaries within Russian culture, during which there was a convergence and mutual influence of theology, philosophy, science with fiction, which was reflected in the transformation of traditional artistic and aesthetic forms. In the work of E. Poselyanin, one can trace how church themes and Orthodox content are clothed in literary forms characteristic of secular literature and departing from strict genre canons, which are becoming more plastic genre formations open for the expression and transmission of the experience of spiritual life by modern man. Conclusion. The book by E. Poselyanin «Russian ascetics of the 19th century» is a document of Russian spiritual life in the 18th – 19th centuries. In this collection of biographical sketches, the traditionalism of the life of the saint is eroded by genre innovations: the inclusion of structural elements from other artistic and journalistic church genres (paterics, sermons, church history) and fictionalized, memoir and biographical prose popular in secular literature.
