The paper highlights the concept for the development and implementation ofintegrative educational boarding school as an attempt to erode dichotomousdualistic in the world of Islamic education in Indonesia. This article discusses the problem of Islamic education from a theological and sociological point of view. The emergence of normative and verbalist Islamic education curriculum distorts the universality of Islam. Islam that is contextual in space and time, always in contact with sociological aspects, should be understood as something that can change its partiality dynamics continuously, even though there is a universal thing that is maintained as a normative belief. On the other hand, the failure of education to produce educational output that is dignified and virtuous has caused some people to distrust the world of education in developing the character and ethics of children. The vote of disbelief is getting stronger with the emergence of the National curriculum model which gives a greater portion of general subjects than religious subjects. This paper is a criticism of the development of the world of education in Indonesia, with the hope that education stakeholders make changes to the education system and the applicable curriculum.

Philosopher Aurobindo Ghosh (1872-1950) was a great philosopher and educationalist. He can be viewed as a 20th-century renaissance person. He was born in Kolkata, India and completed his education from England. He built an Ashram which is famous as ‘Aurobindo Ashram’ all over the world. His philosophy of life was based on Vedas and Upanishads. He emphasized that Education should be in accordance with the need of our Modern life. The present paper highlights the Philosophical contribution of Aurobindo in education. This paper emphasis on educational concept, Aims of education, curriculum, methods of teaching, teacher-taught relationship, discipline and finally the implementation of Aurobindo’s philosophy of education in the modern era.

The purpose of this study was to find out the role of the Darusaa'dah Islamic Boarding School in the Pangkalan Susu District of Langkat in the Form of Santri Character The approach used is case study. The object of this research is religious Islamic education institutions. Data sources are people who are directly and indirectly involved with pesantren. To collect these data, the author uses several techniques in data collection, namely documentation, observation and interviews. Data analysis in research uses interpretive patterns that aim to achieve a correct understanding of facts, data and symptoms. In this study researchers focused on two curricula, namely the pesantren curriculum and the general education curriculum. used in the Darusa'dah Islamic Boarding School which is related to character formation. The Darusaa'dah Islamic Boarding School curriculum accommodates students who focus on learning two curricula, namely the pesantren curriculum and the general education curriculum. The pesantren curriculum material taught is sourced from the yellow book which includes; religious laws, monotheism, morals and Arabic. The education curriculum of the Darusaa'dah Islamic Boarding School is focused on the teaching of the Koran, hadith and the books written by the previous ulama. Educational material is presented based on class. The pesantren curriculum and general education curriculum are taught in the Darusaa'dah Islamic Boarding School, as well as forming the character of the santri.

Thus, the development of the world of Islamic education, especially Islamic boarding schools, becomes more diverse and varied. Both in terms of the manhaj of thought, da'wah methods, and the forms and concepts of learning in Islamic boarding schools. This fact becomes a new problem for Muslims, for maintaining the congregation's values as Muslims, during the presence of differences in manhaj and methods of view on the da'wah of Islam itself. Therefore, in this study, researchers are interested in reviewing how the communication skills of KH. Soleh Iskandar in building collaboration and cooperation with Islamic boarding schools. Islamic education in Indonesia, the majority is rooted in the education model of an Islamic boarding school. In the world of pesantren, the position of the yellow book is very strategic because the yellow book is the book references and the curriculum in the education system. Nahwu and Shorrof are the initial keys to mastering the yellow book, but the problem is, many students, especially early childhood students and beginners, they find it difficult to learn Nahwu and Shorof, while the two fans are the key to being able to read the yellow book. with 3 (three) data collection techniques, namely; observation, interview and documentation. The analysis technique in this research is to use qualitative data analysis consisting of 1) data reduction; 2) data presentation, and 3) conclusions, where the process took place circularly during the study. The results showed that the preparation of the method was based on the unrest that occurred in the Sidogiri Islamic Boarding School and the Al-Miftah Lil ‘Ulum method in the Sidogiri Islamic Boarding School well organized, both internally and externally.

Abstract., Today's education problems are the responsibility of all parties. In terms of implementation and concept, education should be divided and provide a concrete solution for the growth and development of the human resources of Indonesian children. Islamic boarding schools are one of the original educational features based on the Indonesian character. Islamic boarding schools in a long period of time have proven that education is an effort to develop humanity as a whole, starting from morals, intellectuals and skills and provisions for students in navigating life. Educational patterns that use a boarding school system are able to provide comprehensive learning. The concept of Islamic boarding school education makes learning not only limited to classrooms and books, it covers all dimensions of life in the daily activities of students. Morals are cultivated through habitual practice, knowledge is given in every activity that is tightly arranged for a full day. Islamic boarding schools are the legacy of the scholars and the hopes of the founding fathers of the nation. Corak pendidikan yang menggunakan sistem boarding school mampu memberikan pembelajaran yang komprehensif. Konsep Pendidikan pondok pesantren menjadikan pembelajaran tidak terbatas pada ruang kelas dan buku semata, tetapi mencakup seluruh dimensi kehidupan dalam aktifitas keseharian para peserta didik. Akhlak dibina melalui pembiasaan laku, pengetahuan diberikan dalam setiap aktifitas-aktiftas yang tersusun dengan ketat selama sehari penuh. Abstract Pondok Pesantren is a kind of Islamic boarding schools that often to be heard in Indonesia and one of the uniqueness of Islamic education in the world. Nevertheless, the researcher found another fact when the researcher got a teaching practice abroad during six months. The researcher found the existence of pondok pesantren in Thailand. Generally, Thailand is Buddhist majority except several provinces in Southern Thailand, which border to Malaysia. They are Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, Nakhon Sri Thammarat, and a part of Songkhla. Those provinces are majority Muslims. Considering from the fact above, it could not be ignored the educational concept that offered to the young generation at those areas largely have a basic of Islam. The main question will appear to know more about the Islamic education system, especially about the Pondok Pesantren in overseas. In this case, the object of the research is determined in Pondok Songserm Islam Wittaya, Takamcham Sub-district, Nong Chik Regency, Pattani province, Southern Thailand. Namun, peneliti menemukan fakta lain ketika mendapat kesempatan untuk praktek mengajar di luar negeri selama enam bulan. Peneliti menemukan keberadaan pondok pesantren di Thailand. Padanya umumnya, Thailand adalah negara dengan mayoritas berpenduduk agama Budha, kecuali beberapa provinsi di bagian selatan Thailand yang berdekatan dengan Malaysia. Diantaranya ialah provinsi Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, Nakhon Sri Thammarat, dan sebagin daerah Songkhla. Provinsi tersebut dihuni oleh penduduk mayoritas Muslim. Ditinjau dari keadaan penduduk yang demikian, maka tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa pendidikan yang ditawarkan bagi generasi muda di wilayah-wilayah tersebut kebanyakan berbasis Islam. Pertanyaan utama akan muncul untuk mengetahui lebih jauh mengenai sistem pendidikan Islam, utamanya mengenai pondok pesantren di luar negeri. Dalam kasus ini, obyek penelitian telah ditentukan di Pondok Songserm Islam Wittaya, kecamatan Takamcham, kabupaten Nong Chik, provinsi Pattani, Thailand Selatan. In today’s Indonesia, the Arabic language is not very popular among the population. Even though Indonesia is the most populous Muslim country in the world, Muslims in Indonesia tend to have this “neglection” feeling on the importance of learning the Arabic language. This feeling is caused by the rise of bad sentiment towards Islam and Arab in the world particularly in the west which also influenced Indonesians mindset. The dichotomy which stated the Arabic language as a backward language and the terrorist language further escalate this unpopularity which creates the discouragement of the citizen to learn Arabic by the popular opinion. The problem which has been stated could be solved by further examining Islamic education curriculum especially the Arabic language to be more relevant with the modern world. Seeing the fact that the Arabic language is not a popular subject to be learned, then teaching it should further be with the way that is familiar to the student and easy-going. The Arabic language should be taught with soft and aural-oral approach. Soft approach means that it should be taught casually, while aural-oral approach means that the Arabic language should firstly be taught with conversation style teaching that emphasizes in speaking and understanding of the word and its roots. This study shall examine the problem stated above and the reason why soft and aural-oral approach should be used. it is hoped that by examining this approach, the soft and aural-oral approach could be implemented in the Arabic language classes in Indonesia.

This study discusses the concept of moral education. The goals of moral education are: 1) learn the concept of moral education curriculum; 2) the process of internalizing moral education. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological method. The results show that, first: moral education must be based on the concept of Islam and placing morals in science is a shared responsibility because it includes doctrinal implications that the purpose of human life must be within the framework of worship of God. Second: Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School makes morality the basis of education with an internalization process including integrating general and religious subject curricula, habituation methods and 3T programs, namely tahfizh (memorizing), tafhim (understanding) and taf'il (practice). Keywords: moral, Muhammadiyah Boarding School, Moral-based education يناقش هذه المقالة مفهوم التربية الأخلاقية. التوجه الرئيسي للتعليم الأخلاقي هو تعلم مفهوم المناهج التعليمية الأخلاقية وعملية استيعاب التربية الأخلاقية. تستخدم كتابة هذه المقالة نهجًا كيفيا باستخدام أساليب علم الظواهر. تظهر نتائج البحث الذى أجري أن التعليم الأخلاقي يجب أن يقوم على مفهوم الإسلام. إن وضع الأخلاق في مسائل العلوم هو مسؤولية مشتركة لأنه يشمل الآثار العقائدية التي ترشد على أن هدف الحياة البشرية هو في إطار عبادة الله. وإن معهد المحمدية تجعل الأخلاق أساس التعليم مع عملية التدخيل بما في ذلك توحيد المناهج الدراسية العامة والدينية وأساليب التعود وبرامج 3T ، وهي التحفيظ والتفيم والتفاهم والممارسة. Artikel ini membahas mengenai konsep pendidikan akhlak. Orientasi utama dari pendidikan akhlak ini yaitu mempelajari konsep kurikulum pendidikan akhlak serta proses internalisasi pendidikan akhlak. Penulisan artikel ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Hasil dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan akhlak harus didasarkan pada konsep Islam. Menempatkan akhlak pada sains adalah tanggung jawab bersama karena hal itu mencakup implikasi doktrinal bahwa tujuan hidup manusia harus berada dalam kerangka pemujaan kepada Allah. Pesantren Muhammadiyah menjadikan akhlak sebagai basis pendidikan dengan proses internalisasi termasuk mengintegrasikan kurikulum mata pelajaran umum dan agama, metode habituasi dan program 3T, yaitu tahfizh (menghafal), tafhim (pengertian) dan taf'il (berlatih).
