Utilization of the curative services increased over the year, especially the laboratory testing and health examination services. However, the facility infrastructures did not meet the national standard. The function rooms in the facilities being degraded and damaged remained at high proportion which were required to renovate. The main aim of this study was to determine the current situation of offender profiling in Japan. In addition, the accuracy of crime linkage and inferring offenders’ profiles were examined. To evaluate offender profiling comprehensively, we conducted a national survey of 156 people responsible for offender profiling between 2011 and 2012 to obtain their demographic characteristics and experience related to profiling. Furthermore, we also used a sample of 296 resolved cases to examine the content of profiling and the accuracy of predictions in offender profiling. The results of the statistical analyses revealed that police professionals from various backgrounds were engaged in profiling in Japan; 76% were police investigators, and 19% were professionals at forensic science laboratories engaged in psychological work. Regarding the utilization of profiling results in police investigations, 46% of profiling ‘led to identification of offender’. As for prediction accuracy, the rate of linkage errors (i.e. where profilers could not correctly link incidents even when they knew of the occurrence of these incidents) was 15%. Accurately inferring an offender’s profile was found to be between 72% (means of transportation) and 100% (sex). We also discussed the challenges faced by the police who practise offender profiling in Japan.

The fitness-for-service assessment is widely used to demonstrate whether identified defects or in-service deterioration threaten the structure integrity of the pressure equipment. This article introduces the development of the Chinese national safety assessment standard. The assessment procedure and assessment techniques of current Chinese national safety assessment standard GB/T 19624-2004 are demonstrated, and the improvement is proposed. In order to maintain availability of aging equipment and enhance the long-term economic performance of in service pressure equipment, a new Chinese national safety assessment standard system is methodology proposed based on the analysis of some international structure integrity procedures or standards. A new national standard fitness-for-service which focuses on the evaluation of in-service damage and degeneration will be established while GB/T 19624 is applicable for general defects.

Village-Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa) Pakis Sabilulungan is a business entity that houses small, micro and medium-sized businesses located in Mekarsari Village, Pasirjambu, Bandung, Indonesia. At present, BUM Desa Pakis has begun to pioneer several businesses including the production of snacks, coffee, crafts, and clothing. But there are obstacles where marketing is still limited to one sub-district and income tends to stagnate. Therefore, we need an internet-based technology that is able to help marketing more broadly and more easily than the current situation. The proposed technology in BUM Desa Pakis is a web-based e-marketplace, where all business owners can sell goods on the same platform. In its development, the prototyping method was used. This is because BUM Desa needs a description of the application that will be used before further development. The results of the e-Marketplace development on BUM Desa show that the marketing process can be carried out faster, payments can be made through bank transfers and delivery can be done through expeditions. This is significantly able to expand product marketing from Mekarsari Village
