AbstractYoung people living in social institutions are more vulnerable to have mental health problems. Thus, they need to have psychological resilience, which is the ability to thrive in the face of adversity. The aim of the study is to investigate how much emotional intelligence can predict the psychological resilience of adolescents living at social institutions (orphanage). Research used quantitative approach and correlational design. In this study, by using purposive sampling technique, 145 adolescents aged 11 - 18 years living at orphanage around Jakarta were participated. Adaptation of resilience scale from Connor & Davidson was used to measure the psychological resilience and the scale of emotional intelligence was an adapted scale from theory of Salovey and Mayer. Both adapted scale shown good reliability index indicated that they can use to measure the variables consistently. The statistical analysis using linear regression test indicate that emotional intelligence can predict psychological resilience significantly and positively. It is implied that emotional intelligence is being an important factor for resilience development among orphanage youth. Thus, it is imperative to cultivate emotional intelligence aspects in resilience building program for young people living in social shelters. Purpose: This study determines the influence of emotional intelligence on the students' achievement of Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) at SMA Negeri 5 Yogyakarta in the 2019/2020 academic year.Methodology: The study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with both quantitative and qualitative data, specifically learning achievement and emotional intelligence. It was conducted at SMA Negeri 5 Yogyakarta in March 2020 using 720 respondents. Additionally, X, XI, and XII had 8 classes each, totaling 24 classes, where a sample of 30 students was taken from using a simple random sampling technique. Data obtained from the questionnaire was processed through simple regression analysis techniques and analysis of the determination coefficient (R2). Furthermore, data on emotional intelligence (X) was obtained by distributing questionnaires. Students' learning achievement scores for Pancasila and Civic Education (Y) were used in the report cards in the even semester of the 2019/2020 academic year.Findings: According to the results, the statistical analysis produces a regression equation Y = 74.298 + 0.165 X. In case the value of emotional intelligence (X) increases by 1 unit, the PPKn learning achievement (Y) increases by 0.165 units with a constant of 74,298. Hypothesis testing shows that emotional intelligence was significantly influenced by learning achievement. The determination coefficient (R2) obtained was 0.59 (5.9%), meaning that emotional intelligence affects 5.9% of the PPKn learning achievement, while 94.1% was influenced by other factors outside the study.Unique contributions to theory, practice, and policy: Students' emotional intelligence (EQ) has an influence on student PPKn learning achievement. With EQ, it is hoped that students will be able to train and manage their feelings, motivate themselves, be able to be strong in the face of frustration, ability to control impulses and delay momentary gratification, regulate a reactive mood, and be able to empathize and cooperate with others. Through EQ too, students are expected to be able to keep away from frustration and prolonged stress, so this emotional intelligence will support a student in achieving his goals and ideals.

The gains of organizational wellbeing and productivity have been challenged by workers disposition especially the heart of forgiving one another within the workplace. The present study investigated forgiveness among public sector workers: a predictive study of employee resilience, emotional intelligence and loneliness at work. Participants in the study were made up of non-academic staff of Nnamdi Azikiwe University. They comprise of 78 males (43.09%) and 103 females (56.91%) with a mean age of 39.77 years and a standard deviation of 7.9 years and age ranges from 28 -65 years. Four different instruments were used to measure the four variables; Resilience, Loneliness, Emotional Intelligence and Forgiveness. The Rye’s Forgiveness Scale was used to measure forgiveness among the participants; Wagnild and Young’ Resilience scale (WYRS) was used to measure resilience; UCLA Loneliness Scale (ULS) was used to measure loneliness while Wong’s Emotional Intelligence scale (WEIS) measured the participants’ emotional intelligence. The design adopted for this study is the correlational design and the statistical method used is the multiple regression technique. The results of the hypotheses tested showed that that there is insignificant relationship between resilience and forgiveness (β=.052 p>.05), the regression results shown in Table 2 show that there is insignificant relationship between loneliness and forgiveness (β=.030, p>.05), there was also a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and forgiveness (β= .500, p<.05) and the overall significance of the effect as shown in Table 3 showed that there was an overall significance between forgiveness and the selected predictors F (3,177)= 3.126, p<.05. It was however recommended that Personnel Managers should inculcate improvement in psychological factors like emotional intelligence in their personnel training agenda so as to improve the individuals’ tendency to forgive coworkers in the workplace.

Resilience embodies the personal qualities that enable one to thrive in the face of adversity. A previous Italian study showed that injured workers had a lower level of resilience than non-injured workers. The aim of this paper is to examine the relationship between occupational injuries and psychological resilience. The subjects were 197 drivers from two Finnish waste transport companies. As a part of larger questionnaire, they fulfilled the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, which consisted of 25 items. Drivers reported their occupational injuries during the last three years. The drivers involved in occupational injuries had higher score (average 69.3) on Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale than drivers avoided injuries (67.7). According to Student’s t-test the difference between groups was highly significant (t = 40.44, df = 196, p<0.001). The result of this study was contradictory to earlier Italian study. One explanation may be that the Italian study was done with traumatic context with seriously injured patients. Waste transport drivers were rather young and fit males, who had suffered only minor injuries.

Abstract This study aims to determine the correlation between social support and emotional intelligence with resilience to flood victims. Retrieval of data in this study uses a scale of resilience, scale of support, and emotional intelligence distributed to 100 research subjects, namely flood victims in Dalpenang Sampang village using purposive sampling technique. The results of the analysis of research data using multiple regression analysis shows that there is a positive relationship between social support and emotional intelligence with resilience which is shown by the F number regression = 103.783 with p = 0.000 (p <0.001). Variables of social support and emotional intelligence simultaneously and very significantly correlate with resilience. Partially found the value of t regression between social support and resilience = 10.410, and partial r = 0.726, p = 0.00 (p <0.05), this means there is a positive and significant relationship between social support and resilience. The partial test also found t regression between emotional intelligence and resilience = 3.675 and r partial = 0.350 (p <0.05), this means there is a positive and very significant relationship between emotional intelligence and resilience. These results indicate that the three proposed hypotheses are accepted. Keywords: social support, emotional intelligence, resilience
