Burnout rates among physicians are rapidly rising. Leaders in the movement to address burnout have made the case that health care workplaces need to foster a culture of well-being, including trusting coworker interactions, collaborative and transparent leadership, work-life balance, flexibility, opportunities for meaningful work and for professional development, and effective 2-way communication. The rationale for focusing on organizational change to prevent burnout has pointed to persistent symptoms of burnout even when individual healthy lifestyle interventions are adopted. However, a case can be made that the lifestyle interventions were not implemented at the level of intensity recommended by the lifestyle medicine evidence-base to secure the desired improvement in physical and mental health when facing significant personal and environmental stressors. The lifestyle medicine community has the ethical mandate to advocate for intensive healthy lifestyle approaches to burnout prevention, in conjunction with organizational supports. By combining comprehensive and intensive lifestyle changes with organizational cultures of well-being, we can more effectively turn the tide of physician burnout.

BACKGROUND A key challenge in developing online well-being interventions for young people is to ensure that they are based on theory and reflect adolescent concepts of well-being. OBJECTIVE This exploratory qualitative study aimed to understand young people’s concepts of well-being in Australia. METHODS Data were collected via workshops at five sites across rural and metropolitan sites with 37 young people from 15 to 21 years of age, inclusive. Inductive, data-driven coding was then used to analyze transcripts and artifacts (ie, written or image data). RESULTS Young adults’ conceptions of well-being were diverse, personally contextualized, and shaped by ongoing individual experiences related to physical and mental health, along with ecological accounts acknowledging the role of family, community, and social factors. Key emerging themes were (1) positive emotions and enjoyable activities, (2) physical wellness, (3) relationships and social connectedness, (4) autonomy and control, (5) goals and purpose, (6) being engaged and challenged, and (7) self-esteem and confidence. Participants had no difficulty describing actions that led to positive well-being; however, they only considered their own well-being at times of stress. CONCLUSIONS In this study, young people appeared to think mostly about their well-being at times of stress. The challenge for online interventions is to encourage young people to monitor well-being prior to it becoming compromised. A more proactive focus that links the overall concept of well-being to everyday, concrete actions and activities young people engage in, and that encourages the creation of routine good habits, may lead to better outcomes from online well-being interventions.

Introduction. The issue of public health is still relevant, as not only is it an individual value, but also a social one: an unhealthy population cannot be a reliable support for the state. This is especially true of young people, who are a key indicator of the well-being of the society and the country as a whole. The goal of the paper is to study the opinions of students about a healthy lifestyle and its promotion through tourism, prevention of addictions and negative impacts of various factors. Materials and Methods. In the course of the research, a set of methods was applied: analytical and synthetic study of scientific and methodological literature, logical methods for analyzing concepts, questionnaire surveys, expert evaluation, etc. The study also used quota sampling. Percentage distribution and ranking were used to process the empirical data. Results. The conducted experiment has revealed that most students enjoy good health and show optimism, they have a tolerant attitude towards people consuming alcohol or drugs. The study has proved that health and well-being of young people depend on the socio-psychological microclimate in students’ groups and dormitories, as well as on the friendship and solidarity of students themselves. Discussion and Conclusion. Only promoting a fashion for a healthy lifestyle one can protect students from negative consequences during the transition from the youth to adulthood. The materials obtained can become the basis for monitoring these processes in educational organizations and set new vectors for students’ better health, for improving the teamwork of teachers and mentors.

The article is devoted to the study and popularization of billiards among modern student youth as one of the types of game sports. The purpose of the research is to study the influence of playing billiards on the psychophysical state of student youth. The authors of the article set out the main trends associated with the increase in the level of physical development of modern students. Quite an important problem of the modern lifestyle is the gradual deterioration in the health of young people. In recent years, there has been a negative trend towards an increase in the number of young people with health problems and low levels of health. Despite the existing physical culture classes in higher and secondary educational institutions, the state of health of students is mainly deteriorating. This can be due to insufficient physical loads in classes, incorrect distribution of physical exercises, non-creative approach to the subject, or classes in general that can be carried out simply formally. An important task of modern education is to instill in young people a responsible attitude to their own health and the health of those around them as to the highest individual and social value. That is why, understanding the need to be attentive to the problems of one’s health, mastering the mechanisms of its maintenance, strengthening and restoration, cognition of the peculiarities of one’s individual mental and somatic organization is a prerequisite for longevity, self-realization as a person and as a member of society. The article presents the results of observations that allow judging the positive effect of billiards on general well-being and the level of physical and psycho-emotional health. The introduction of playing billiards in the educational process of higher educational institutions, in the author’s opinion, will contribute to solving some problems of the psychophysical health of a modern student.
