The objectives of this research were: (1) to find out whether or not the use of Learn to Speak English software improves the students’ speaking skill and (2) to find out whether or not the students are interested in joining the speaking class through Learn to Speak English software. This research employed Quasi Experimental design. The sample consisted of 68 students of third semester of English and Literature Department Muhammadiyah University of Makassar, in academic year 2013/2014. The data were collected through two kinds of instruments: speaking test for the students’ speaking skill and questionnaire for students’ interest. Data on the students’ speaking skill were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics and data on the students’ interest were analyzed using Likert scale. The results of the research were: (1) the use of Learn to Speak English software in teaching speaking improved the students speaking skill; (2) the use of Learn to Speak English software increased the students’ interest in joining the speaking class. It can be concluded that the use of Learn to Speak English software is effective to be implemented in improving the students’ speaking skills in terms of fluency and lexical resource and the students have high interest and active toward teaching speaking through Learn to Speak English software.

The objectives of this research were: (1) to find out whether or not the use of parallel-team teaching improves the students’ speaking skill and (2) to find out whether or not the students are interested in joining the speaking class through parallel-team teaching. This research employed a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 40 students of second-semester students of English Education Program of Makassar State University, in academic year 2016/2017. The research data were collected by using two kinds of instruments: the speaking test for the students’ speaking skill and questionnaire for students’ interest.  Data on the students’ speaking skill were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, and data on the students’ interest were analyzed using the Likert scale. The results of the research were: (1) the use of parallel-team teaching in teaching speaking improved the students speaking skill, (2) the use of parallel-team teaching increased the students’ interest in joining the speaking class.  It can be concluded that the use of Parallel-Team Teaching is effective to be implemented in improving the students’ speaking skill in terms of accuracy, fluency, comprehensibility and content and the students have very high interest toward Parallel-Team Teaching in teaching speaking

Snowball throwing technique is an interesting strategy which enables students to think and to discuss an issue from different points of view by using the video. This study was done to reveal if (1) there was a significant difference in the eleventh graders’ speaking skill between those who were given intervention by using youtube video with a snowball throwing technique and those who were not, and (2) there was significant difference among good, average, and poor speaking categories among the sample. The participants of this study consisted of 106 eleventh graders of SMA Muhammadiyah 6 Palembang. By means of purposive sampling, 40 students were involved where 20 students of XI. Class IPA 1 was in control group and other 20 students of XI IPA 2 was in experimental group. This study used a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent pretest and posttest design. To collect the data, speaking test was administered twice as the pretest and posttest for both groups. The result revealed that there was a significant difference in speaking skill between students taught by using youtube video with  snowball throwing technique and those who were not. Last, there was a significant difference among good, average, and poor speaking categories among the sample.

This quasi-experimental research was aimed to find out the effect of STAD technique toward students’ speaking skill and class participation at grade XI of SMAN 5 Kota Bengkulu in academic year of 2011/2012. The population of this research was the students at grade XI of SMAN 5 Kota Bengkulu in academic year of 2010/2011 that consisted of 168 students. The sample of this research was IPA 4 which comprised 27 students and IPA 5 which comprised 27 students and the two classes were cluster randomly selected as a research sample. The data were collected through speaking test and observation sheet of class participation. The data were then analyzed by using t-test and analysis of variances.  The findings of this research showed that (1) the students who were taught by using STAD technique gave significant effect toward their speaking skill achievement. (2) The students who were taught by using STAD technique gave significant effect toward their class participation. (3) The students who were taught by using STAD technique gave significant effect toward students’ speaking skill and class participation. Thus, it can be concluded that STAD technique gave significant effect toward students’ speaking skill and class participation at grade XI of SMAN 5 Kota Bengkulu in academic year of 2011/2012.

This research can be concluded that animated film media influence to children speaking skill of group A TK Nurul Huda Demak Lesson Year 2016/2017. Suggestions that researchers should convey this research can be applied in schools as a proof of Hasil observasi di TK Nurul Huda Demak, banyak dijumpai pada anak usia 4-5 tahun menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berbicara anak masih kurang, terlihat dari cara anak dalam menyampaikan apa yang diinginkannya masih malu-malu, anak menjadi pasif, kurang keberanian anak dalam berbicara. Peneliti memilih film animasi Adit Sopo Jarwo sebagai media yang digunakan dalam penelitian karena film ini mengandung nilai edukatif yang tinggi, kesederhanaan perkampungan, gotong royong, kebersamaan dan kegiatan bermain keseharian anak-anak.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media film animasi terhadap keterampilan berbicara kelompok A TK Nurul Huda Demak Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode quasi experimental design. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan the non ekuivalen, pretest-posttes design. Dalam penelitian ini sebagai populasi adalah anak-siswi Kelompok A TK Nurul Huda Demak tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah anak-siswi kelompok A yaitu kelompok A 1 dan kelompok A 2 TK Nurul Huda Demak yang terdiri dari 15 anak Kelompok A 1 dan 15 anak Kelompok A 2. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi.Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan uji-t diperoleh sebesar 37,0667 sementara ttabel dengan db= n-1 = 15 – 1 =14 dengan taraf signifikan 5% sebesar 1,76. Karena thitung> ttabel yakni 37,0667 > 1,76 maka dapat disimpulkan adanya treatment terhadap keterampilan berbicara. Jadi hipotesis (Ha) yang berbunyi terdapat pengaruh media film animasi terhadap keterampilan berbicara pada kelompok A TK Nurul Huda Demak diterima dengan taraf signifikan 5%.Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa media film animasi berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan berbicara anak kelompok A TK Nurul Huda Demak Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017. Saran yang peneliti sampaikan hendaknya penelitian ini dapat diterapkan di sekolah sebagai bukti inovasi guru professional. Observation in Nurul Huda Demak kindergarten, many found in children aged 4-5 years shows that children's speaking skills are still lacking, seen from the way the child in conveying what he wants is still shy, the child becomes passive, lack of courage in talking children. Researchers chose the animated film Adit Sopo Jarwo as a medium used in research because this film contains high educational value, the simplicity of the village, gotong royong, togetherness and daily play activities of children.The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of animation film usage on the speaking skills of group A TK Nurul Huda Demak Lesson Year 2016/2017.The method used in this research is quasi experimental design method. The design of this study used the non-equivalent, pretest-posttes design. In this study as a population is a student of Group A TK Nurul Huda Demak academic year 2016/2017. The samples in this study were A group A children and group A 2 TK Nurul Huda Demak consisting of 15 children of Group A 1 and 15 children of Group A 2. The data in this research was obtained through observation, interview, documentation.The result shows that t-test is obtained at 37,0667 while t table with db = n-1 = 15 - 1 = 14 with 5% significant level equal to 1,76. Because thitung> ttabel ie 37.0667> 1.76 then it can be concluded the existence of treatment of speech skills. So the hypothesis (Ha) which reads there is the influence of animated film media on the skills of speaking in group A TK Nurul Huda Demak accepted with a significant level of 5%.innovation of professional teachers

This article points out the results of the study attempting to analyze the students speaking anxiety at students in one of the College of Teacher Training and Education (STKIP) in Lampung. For the purpose of the topic, 28 fellow students were selected as the sample. Research method was quasi-experimental design with two way ANOVA. It was conducted for about four months. According to the results of speaking test, findings showed that using Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) had positive meaningful effect on improving students’ speaking skill viewed from different speaking anxiety. To sum up, CLT is an effective method to teach students’ speaking skill viewed from different speaking anxiety.

This study investigated the effect of using English Subtitle in “Zootopia” Movie as media in speaking skill of SMPN 6 Sidoarjo. English Subtitle can describe as practice media to help the students when they understand to watch movie. The method used Quasi Experimental Design. The result of this study showed that the student could improve their ability in speaking skill through English subtitle. The data got from both pre-test and post-test score were analyzed using T-test formula. The result of calculation showed that in the significance degree of 5%, the value of t-test (to) is higher than t-table (tt) (19.90 > 1.99). According to the criteria of the test, the result showed that there is an effect of student’s in speaking skill using English subtitle. It can be concluded that English Subtitle in “Zootopia” movie as media is effective and applicable approach at the ninth grade of SMPN 6 Sidoarjo to improve student in speaking skill.

          Vocabulary is one of the language aspects that should be mastered by the students in language learning. It has a main role for the students in understanding and applying the four basic skills in language learning. Most of the teachers do not pay attention to the media that they use in gaining students’ vocabulary mastery. This study aimed to find out whether the use of Jeopardy Game affected the students’ vocabulary mastery or not. This study conducted a quasi-experimental design. The population of this study was comprised of 186 students of the second grade of SMAN 1 Bukit Sundi that divided into 6 classes. The instrument of this study was a vocabulary test. The experiment class was taught by using Jeopardy Game, while the control class by using Guessing Game. In conclusion, there were significant differences between students who were taught by using Jeopardy Game and Guessing Game on Second Grade of SMAN 1 Bukit Sundi in 2020/2021 Academic Year

This study aimed at investigating the effect of blended learning on the English-students’ speaking skills at SMAN 2 Patra Nusa Aceh Tamiang. Also, this study investigated students’ level differences of English-speaking skills of SMA Patra Nusa students. Twenty-five students of the eleventh-grade class were involved in this study. This study used a quasi-experimental with pre-experimental design. The instruments used in this study were observation and test (pretest and posttest). The results of data analysis showed that sig. 2-tailed = 0.000 < α (0.05), it means reject H0, accepted Ha. Finding obtained of pretest 77,04 and posttest 88,95. In conclusion, the mean pretest and posttest scores differ significantly. In other words, blended learning positively affects students speaking skills used in the media google classroom at SMA N 2 Patranusa.

One ability that students must master is problem solving. Increasing students’ problem-solving ability will improve their mindset. The alternative used to increase students’ problem-solving ability is applying Problem Based Learning model. This study aims to understand the presence or absence of the application of the model of the application of Problem Based Learning to the problem solving of students of class VII PGRI (Equated) Sungguminasa. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design of the Control Posttest Group. The population in this study in all VII class SMP PGRI (Disamakan) Sungguminasa and selected class VII A as an experimental class with consultations with the Problem Based Learning model and class VII C as a control class with training in direct learning models involving the community. The technique of collecting data in this study is the test then analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics using the t test (Independent Sample t-test). Based on the results of the study concluded that the Problem Based Learning model determines the problem-solving abilities of students of class VII SMP PGRI (Disamakan) Sungguminasa.AbstrakSalah satu kemampuan yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa adalah pemecahan masalah. Meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah akan berpengaruh pada peningkatan mindset siswa. Salah satu cara yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemapuan pemecahan masalah siswa adalah dengan mengaplikasikan model Problem Based Learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh penerapan model Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VII SMP PGRI (Disamakan) Sungguminasa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain Control Group Posttest Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini seluruh kelas VII SMP PGRI (Disamakan) Sungguminasa dan terpilih kelas VII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan perlakuan model Problem Based Learning dan kelas VII C sebagai kelas kontrol dengan perlakuan model pembelajaran langsung yang mewakili populasi. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu tes kemudian dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan uji t (Independent Sample t-test). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VII SMP PGRI (Disamakan) Sungguminasa.

ABSTRACTSATRIA. The Effectiveness of Gallery Walk Technique in Addressing the Reticence to Speak of the Eleventh Year Students of SMAN 1 Pangkep (Supervised by Ammang Latifah and Suriani).The research was aimed at finding out (1) to find out the effectiveness of Gallery Walk Technique in addressing the reticence to speak of the eleventh year students of SMAN 1 Pangkep. (2) to know the interest of the eleventh year students of SMAN 1 Pangkep in the use of Gallery Walk Technique to addressing their reticence to speakThe research was carried out under the quantitative paradigm with quasi experimental design. Class XII MIPA 2 as experimental class and class XI MIPA 3 as controlled class were chosen as the samples of this research obtained through purposive sampling technique because those classes almost have similar ability in English. The population that consisted of ten class of 360 students of SMAN 1 Pangkep in the academic year 2018/2019. The data of the students speaking performance were collected by using speaking test, while the data about the students interest were taken by using questionnaire. The data were collected then analyzed through inferential statistics through SPSS 23 program.The research result showed that (1) using gallery walk technique was more effective than in group presentation class in addressing the students reticence to speak. It is seen from the significance t test result that reveals the significance value is lower than the significance level; 0.005&lt;0.05. The mean score of experimental class posttest is 68,19, higher 9,16 points than control class 59,03 . Therefore, the end result is 0,000160&lt;0,05. That means Ho is rejected (Null Hypothesis) and Ha is accepted (Alternative Hypothesis). To sum it up, the results shows that gallery walk technique was effective in addressing the reticence to speak of the students. Furthermore, in relation to the students interest, (2) it was found that the mean score of the students interest through the use of gallery walk technique in addressing the students reticence to speak was 82,78 which is categorized as a high interest.
