Parinama shula is a disease of Annavaha Srotas characterized by pain during digestion of food, predominantly disturbing the daily life. This arise because of the faulty diet and habits. Parinama shula is a Tridoshaja vyadhi and out of tridosha, Vata dosha is most powerful and omnipotent and mobiliser of other dosha. Aggravated Vata either gets Avarana by Kapha, Pitta or combines with Kapha pitta to produce Shula in the abdominal region. Pain in Parinama shula is relieved by vomiting, immediately after intake of food and after complete digestion of food. Seven types of Parinama shula are mentioned in Ayurveda texts according to vitiated dosha. Vishnukranti kalka is mentioned in Sharanghadhara Samhita as a treatment for Parinama shula and it contains dry powder of the whole plant of Evolvulus alsinoides L. with cow ghee, bee honey and common sugar (1:2:2:I w/w). The aim of the present study was to explore the effect of wound healing activity of the whole plant of Momordica charantia Linn. in rats. The effect of aqueous ethanolic extract of Momordica charantia Linn. (Family; Cucurbetaceae) was evaluated on resutured incision, granuloma pouch and excision wound models in rats. The wound healing activity was measured by the rate of wound contraction, skin breaking strength, weight of the granulation tissue, and collagen content. The concentrated ethyl alcohol extract was subject to fractionation by using petroleum ether (40-60o V/V), solvent ether, ethyl acetate, butanol, butanone, ethanol and methanol in succession. All the fractions were screened for wound healing property. The results of pharmacological activity led to the conclusion that the petroleum ether fraction exhibited more significant wound healing promotion property followed by solvent ether and butanone, from all the parameters studied. Ethyl acetate, ethanol and methanol fractions were least effective.

Ayurveda describes the vast turnover of beauty aid products. More and more new synthetic substances are introduced every day. Many of these are not adequately tested for safety, in particular for routes other than oral or parenteral. Increased incidence of skin conditions like eczema and contact dermatitis after using newer cosmetics suggest that this may be due to local toxic effects or toxic effects manifested on this phenomenon as Dooshivisha. They are relevant to the current way of life considering the prevalence of pollution, occupational hazards and extent of exposure to toxins in food and other articles used in daily life. Present generation is much more likely to consume junk foods-cold drinks, to have unhealthy travelling habits, working late nights, working with computers in A.C rooms. This is referred to by terms like Hetusatatya, Vegavarodha, Diwaswapa, Viparit Chesta, Virudhannasevana which in turn hamper the normal physiology of human body. Same thing is mentioned in Ayurvedic texts also under the topic of Pradnyaparadh which is the basic cause for all diseases. This Pradnyaparadha is responsible to disturb the daily routine life and person has to face with the complaints of ill-health.

Novel corona virus disease (COVID-19) caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona virus 2 (SARS-CoV- 2) is declared as pandemic by WHO. Numerous researches are going on to develop vaccine and treatment protocol for treating this disease but due to complexity of virus genome and variety of symptomatic presentation no particular protocol is completely successful till date. So, there is a need to think on different dimensions for combating this disease. Ayurveda, science of longevity can be an answer to this pandemic disease as it has both the aspect preventive as well as curative. In this article, an effort is made to brief out concepts which can be used in treatment of COVID-19. Validating these concepts by clinical studies on appropriate sample size and then applying it to treatment of masses can be a key towards combating COVID-19.
