This research is mainly intended to find out whether the writing materials based on English grammar in the student’s textbook for Vocational High school is compatible or not with English material. This research applies descriptive research. In collecting data, the researcher does content analysis. The data are analyzed by steps, (1) presenting the materials (2) comparing the materials (3) judging whether materials of English textbook appropriate with the grammar of writing materials or not (4) drawing conclusions. The result of the analysis shows that the percentage of the compatibility of writing skills developed writing materials in the textbook is 73,68%, it means the textbook is good and compatible with writing material  and the other skill which are developed in the textbook involve the compatibility of the listening materials, reading materials and speaking materials  are 26,31%. This research implies the textbook entitled “Modul Bahasa Inggris” at first grade for Vocational High School is good writing materials to support the learning process of English grammar. The Objective of this research were: (1) To develop ERM to meet the needs of second grade of dressmaking students at SMKN 10 Medan, (2) To Design ERM which is suitable to the needs of second grade of dressmaking students at SMKN 10 Medan. The subjects were the eleventh year students of dressmaking department at SMKN 10 Medan. The study was a Research and Development (R & D) study which is adapted from Borg and Gall (1983). This research were conducted by six phases, they are, Gathering information and data, Analyzing data, Designing new reading materials, Validating new reading materials, Revising new reading materials, Revised-developing reading materials. The Instruments for collecting the data were 30 questionarries need analysis and interview students, teacher and practitioner. The results from the data were the students need authentic material which related and appropriate to their need in order they can understand English well. The developed materials were validated by two experts, one is a lecture and the other is a teacher. The validator scored 4 creteria. The research findings showed that the developed materials were appropriate to be implemented. The average score of validation was 4,72 (lecture score) and 4,75 (teacher score). Based on the results of the study, conclusion and suggestions are directed to the teachers and institution who are teaching in SMKN 10 Medan generally to create and to develop the materials based on students need.

This research aimed to analyze Speaking material in English textbook based on 2013 Curriculum for The First Grade Student at Vocational High 4 Makassar. The research method of this research was qualitative descriptive. The object of this research consists of English textbook and focus with Speaking material for the first grade based on 2013 Curriculum. The sample of the research was taken by using Checklist. To know how the relevancy the English textbook with 2013 curriculum that have been dealing with government. The researcher using 2 checklist the first was table to know the relation between speaking material in syllabus of 2013 curriculum and the second was table documentary checklist table to know how the relevance of materials to the curriculum criteria, and the result of the research showed by percentages. Having analyzed the data and the rubric scoring tabulation of this research, it was found that the degree of suitability of Buku Bahasa Inggris an English text book used by First grade students of Vocational High School was 75%. The Researcher concluded that the textbook were logic and can be implemented as a learning source in the classroom. Although it still needs some revision to make it better. During the researcher doing this research, actually the researcher does not face a problem, because the researcher just analyzing and collecting the data by checklist so, the researcher could does this research have done.

This study dealt with the development of English Reading Materials of vocational school, Al-WashliyahTeladan Medan, majoring Software Engineering. The objectives of this study were to: 1) find out language skill and materials are needed by the students of Software Engineering, 2) develop the English materials for the majoring in software engineering students at the vocational high school grade XII. This study was conducted by Educational Research and Development R&D (Borg & Gall, 1989). The data of this research were from existing documents and the result of interview with teacher and student. The results of the research conveyed that the existing reading materials were mostly irrelevant because the title and content of the material was not appropriate and was not required for the students majoring in software engineering. The new English reading materials and syllabus were developed based on the students need related to the workplace. The materials and syllabus were developed from the existing materials from teacher. The developing materials were validated by two experts.

This study investigated the students’ speaking anxiety in the first grade of vocational high school. It emphasized on the level, the causal factors and the strategy to reduce the anxiety. It applied descriptive qualitative to answer the research questions. The data were obtained through questionnaire and interview. The Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) questionnaires and interview were administered to 30 students. It was revealed that [a1] the factors that make students feel anxious in speaking in English were lack of preparation, afraid of left behind in understanding the material or what the teacher talks about, afraid of making mistakes, afraid of being laughed by his/her friends, unconfident to spell, pronounce and select the words in English. It was also found that there were eight students in level Relaxed, twelve students in level Mildly Anxious, and ten students in level Anxious. Last, the strategies that students should do to reduce their anxiety are do more preparation before speaking, try to be more confident in saying English words, and pronunciation practice. Keywords:   Speaking, Speaking anxiety, EFL Classroom. [a1]It was revealed that

ABSTRACT Vocational High School (SMK) S 8 Grakarsa Bengkulu which is located on Jl. Adam Malik Km 8, Kel. Sido Mulyo, Kec. Gading Cempaka, Bengkulu City. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data collection technique in this study was by means of Observation, Interview, Questionnaire and Documentation, when teaching students the teacher went through (3) stages, namely the initial, core and closing stages of using learning media, knowing the concept of learning media, who used learning media, the stages of making learning media and internal and external factors that were found when video-based learning media were applied, in the implementation of learning in the room, students were seen to be active and enthusiastic in participating in learning because the teacher used video-based media by sending videos via android with an attractive display and media on when learning takes place, so that learning is interesting and good.

Traditional English grammar classifies the words into eight parts of speech, such has noun, verb , adverb, adjective, conjunction, pronoun, preposition, and interjection (Yule:2004). When someone tries to describe about preposition of place and time, they must give information clearly about anyone their mean to say. in this research, researcher interests to appoint this problem by comparison of student’s ability between graduate of Senior High School (SMU) and Islamic Senior High School (MA) in using preposition into sentence. The method had used in this research was descriptive quantitative. The population in this research are all of students of first grade and second grade of Keluarga Bunda Jambi Midwifery Academy. The sample in this research was 45 students first grade and second grade of Keluarga Bunda Jambi Midwifery Academy consists of 18 students from SMU and 27 students from MA. The result of this research show that score of the students graduate from SMU is 88 highest and 56 lowest, score of the students graduate from MA is 84 highest and 52 lowest. Based on interpretation result with having calculated to table “t” score with df N1+N2-2=43, because there is no df 43, so take df 45. Then this value consult with table of “t” in the significant rating 5% and 1%. The result of analysis data is 0,11 if calculated to the score of critical (t table) so, 2,02>0,11<2,69, it is mean that Ha is refused and Ho is received and it is mean that there is no significant differences between the ability of the students from graduated fo SMUand MA in using preposition into sentences.

This research objective is describing teacher creativity in using measurement tool learning of Senior High School in Sleman. This research design is survey. Survey research is one kind of descriptive research. Subject in this research are all teacher that teach subject measurement tool in senior high school of Engineering program. Instrument that use in this research is quesionare of teacher creativity in learning with perspective in meaning of teaching and learning. Analyzing of data is using descriptive statistic through percentage. This research result shows teacher measurement tool from two SMK (SMK Prambanan and SMK Depok) have good creativity and the other still have enough creativity.

Predicting readability level of reading texts can help the teachers to match the texts with student’s grade. The appropriate reading text is expected to ease the students in comprehending the material. This research focused on the readability level of English reading material found in English textbook entitled Bahasa Inggris for first grade of Senior High School Published by Curriculum and Books Center, Research and Development Agency, Ministry of Education and Culture. This study attempts to find out whether the reading materials are appropriate or not in terms of readability level for the target students. This research used descriptive quantitative design. The object of the research is English textbook entitled Bahasa Inggris for First Grade of Senior High School published by Curriculum 2013. The textbook consists fifteen chapters which contained kinds of reading materials such as dialogue and reading texts. The researcher only focuses on analyzing the reading materials. There are three kinds of genre found in this book, they are descriptive, recount and narrative. The data were collected by using document analysis. In calculating readability level, the researcher employed the Flesch Reading Ease (FRE) formula. The results of the study showed that there were 9 reading texts in the Bahasa Inggris textbook. From those 9 texts found that there were 3 descriptive texts, 4 recount texts, and 2 narrative texts. According to the analysis using Flesch Reading Ease (FRE) formula, the researcher found that there were 3 texts in Fairly Easy level, 3 texts in Fairly Difficult level, and 3 texts in Difficult level. In average, the texts are in Fairly Difficult level (57,3). Based on the theory of Flesch Reading Ease (FRE) formula, it is found that the texts are in the appropriate level for tenth grade students.Keyword: Readability level, Reading Material, Textbook.
