ABSTRACTThe use of mobile phones today is indispensable, even in the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic. People are not aware of the dangers of using cell phones (HP) in a pandemic situation, such as using cellphones on public transportation (buses, trains, etc.), hospitals, etc. HP users when on public transport often operate their cellphones while they may forget that they have previously held iron bars or bus doors so that their cellphones become contaminated with the COVID-19 virus Seeing this phenomenon, the community service team (PKM) was moved to socialize the use of waterproof cell phone protectors and how to clean cell phones (HP) after being used on a trip or outside the home. Community service activities were carried out when the lockdown was implemented in Jakarta, therefore the team carried out socialization by using brochures and distributing aid to health workers. Community service in addition to providing socialization on virus prevention through mobile devices, the PKM team also explained the need to maintain health protocols by wearing masks, and washing hands using a hand sanitizer. The PKM team was also moved to provide assistance to underprivileged communities who live on the streets of the Cibubur area and its surroundings. The results before the socialization through a field survey showed that 35% of patients and 30% of nurses stated that they had known beforehand that the use of a mobile phone (HP) protector was needed to prevent Covid-19. The results after socialization through brochures, that the ways to protect HP devices for the prevention of Covid-19 are very easy to understand, the results are 93.33% patients and 95% nurses. 97.5% of nurses, and 96.67% of patients hope that this explanation of HP Protection needs to be disseminated more widely. Keywords: covid-19 pandemic; waterproof protection; clean the cell phone

The overuse of mobile phones by teenagers has become a common occurrence in our time. Therefore, this research aims to study the impact of cell phone addiction, cell phone cons, and the effect of applications on adolescent behaviors. This survey used the questionnaire to gather information from participants. The study targeted a group of male and female school students in Jeddah in the 14- 16 age group, who numbered 270. The study found that most students spend a lot of time on these apps or one of them: (Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook) without realizing the value of time wasted on these apps. The study also showed that Saudi teenagers use mobile phones and their applications to serve and develop hobbies. Despite the negative effects of mobile use such as sleep and insomnia, the sample praised its ability to control the use of mobile phones and that overuse does not reach the stage of addiction. The study recommends reducing the use of cell phones so that adolescents can hone and focus their skills. The study also recommends conducting qualitative studies to identify the quality of identities and how mobile devices contribute to the refinement and development of technical and technical hobbies.

The possibility that using a cell phone could cause brain cancer first arose in the early 1990s and has been the subject of research since then. Radiofrequency waves used in cellular communications are far too weak to induce cancer by any known mechanism, and most scientific and regulatory bodies have found the evidence for health effects from use of mobile phones to be unconvincing. Nevertheless, positive results, largely from a single group of researchers, and an ambiguous assessment from single agency have kept the controversy alive. New studies are in progress.

BACKGROUND In East and Southern Africa (ESA), where landlines are used by 1% of the population, and access to the internet is limited, owning a cell phone is rapidly becoming essential for acquiring information and resources. Our analysis illuminates the perils and potential promise of mobile phones with implications for future interventions to promote adolescent and young adult (AYA) health in the region. OBJECTIVE Our objective was to detail the current state of AYA phone usage in the region and trace out the implications for mobile health interventions. METHODS We identified 2 trading centers that were representative of the region in terms of key demographics, proportion of cell phone ownership, and community HIV prevalence. We stratified the sample of potential informants by age group (15-19, 20-24), gender, and phone ownership and randomly sampled 31 KII participants within these categories. In addition, we conducted 24 ethnographic participant observations among AYA in the communities of study. RESULTS AYA frequently reported barriers to using their phones such as difficulty accessing electricity sources. Nearly all AYA used mobile phones to participate in the local economy and communicate with sexual partners. Phone use was frequently a point of contention between sexual partners as well, with many AYA reporting that their sexual partners associated phone use with infidelity. Few AYA reported using their phones for health-related purposes, with most getting health information in person from health workers. However, most AYA reported that they would like to use their phones for health purposes, and specifically stated they would like to use their mobile phones to access current HIV prevention information. Finally, most participants reported an instance when they used their phone in an emergency, with childbirth related emergencies being most common. CONCLUSIONS The current analysis demonstrates how mobile phones are related to economic practices in the region and communication with sexual partners but not access to health and HIV information. Our analysis offers some explanation for our prior associations mobile phone ownership and having multiple sexual partners. Mobile phones have great potential to serve as tools for health promotion.

As a precursor to future public transportation, automated shuttle buses can already be experienced in some test regions, but the general public still has reservations and may not yet be ready for this change. For example, the fact that such vehicles might operate independently (without a human driver) creates a barrier of uncertainty and mistrust among people. In this work, we aim to identify and classify the prevailing reservations and propose solutions. We followed the User Centered Design (UCD) process to design concepts that are specifically tailored to the needs of future public transport users. After related work analysis, on-site research, and pre-studies, two main studies were conducted specifically to address communication in the exterior (n = 24) and interior/service design (n = 21). For both studies, we applied a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative and qualitative measures. Our results indicate that, in general, existing ways of communication in the exterior are insufficient to meet future needs. The two visualization concepts for external communication developed in this work were rated (significantly) better in most dimensions of the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ), when compared to the baseline condition with no additional visualization. Furthermore, preferences among the study participants towards simple, highly visible, and well-known lighting concepts could be observed. As for the interior, the results show that participants rated attractiveness highly for the two design concepts (closer, further in the future) as compared to current, state-of-the-art solutions (automated buses currently in operation). For the “near future” concept, the pragmatic quality dominated, while in the other (the “far future”) concept the hedonic quality was in the foreground. From the results, design recommendations in different categories were derived, which reflect the general openness of the public towards new technologies and interior approaches, but also point out the importance for privacy and designated personal spaces inside an (automated) shuttle bus. Some of the results do not strictly apply to automated shuttle buses, and can serve as valuable suggestions for improving conventional shuttle buses.

The use of mobile phones has become increasingly popular in recent years and it is more prevalent among university students. The widespread usage of cell phones has attracted the attention of many students, thereby increasing their rate of cell phone dependency. This study aimed to describe cell phone behaviours among undergraduate regular students at the University of Cape Coast. A survey research design was adopted for the study. Through the use of the stratified sampling technique, a sample of 2,061 undergraduate regular students participated in the study. Questionnaire adapted from Choliz’s (2012) Test of Mobile-phone Dependence (TMD) was used. The internal consistency, estimated using McDonald’s omega coefficient, ranged from .84 to .95. Means and standard deviations were used in analyzing the data for the study. The findings of the study revealed that students were prevalent in the use of cell phones in sending text messages, followed by surfing of the internet, length of time spent on the cell phone, and use of cell phone as a source of entertainment. It was recommended among other things that students should consciously regulate their use of cell phones so that it does not jeopardize their academic work.

Cell phones are now widespread in many countries including Japan where we teach, and are particularly popular among university students. Although they can be a distraction in the classroom, functions such as Internet access and e-mail capability have transformed them into sophisticated communication tools. But are they also potentially useful in language learning? While task-based approaches (Nunan, 1989) adapted to desktop e-mail are now a growing area of research in CALL (Greenfield, 2003; Gonzalez-Lloret, 2003), cell phones have yet to receive much attention. This paper reports on a classroom research project aimed at evaluating the use of mobile phones as tools for classroom learning. Freshman university students in intact EFL classes (2 elementary classes, 2 lower intermediate) were first surveyed regarding their cell phone use and pre-tested to assess their knowledge of certain target learning structures. Following this they were subdivided into three groups: (a) using cell phone text messages, (b) using computer e-mail, and (c) speaking. The learners were paired, trained with warm-up tasks, and given two further sets of tasks to complete (one in class and the other at home). The target vocabulary appeared in the initial narrative task. All messages sent while doing the tasks were saved for analysis. The speaking task pairs were recorded and samples were transcribed for comparison. Finally learners took a post-test the following week to assess short-term learning gains. This project drew attention to a number of potential advantages of mobile phones as well as highlighting some limitations, but overall suggested that mobile phones represent a language learning resource worthy of further investigation.

A fundamental challenge for rapidly growing cities of nowadays is to offer public transport services to fulfill the increasing demands for mobility. In our country, a widely adaptable and convenient mode of public transport is by bus. The buses in the running and bus arrival time are considered as the essential data for almost every open transport travelers. Excessively longer waiting periods at bus stations frequently deter travelers and the non-availability of information about the buses running makes them reluctant to take buses. So to make passengers more informative, we present a system for the manifestation of the on-road buses and its’ arrival time based upon the bus passengers’ participatory detecting. The bus passengers’ encompassing environmental framework is successfully gathered with the help of commodity mobile phones and employed to present the bus traveling pathways and to reckon the estimated time of arrival of the bus at several bus stations through the mobile application. The suggested framework entirely depends upon the cooperative attempt of the partaking users and the driver in the designated route, therefore it can be facilely adopted to fortify bus accommodation framework excluding the demanding assistance through the specific bus operating organizations. We develop an archetype system with variants of Android-predicated mobile phones. The suggested framework is usually more accessible and energy cordial.
