Today, one of the most objective indicators of safety and quality are microbiological. Although it is practically impossible to completely avoid meat contamination and a wide range of factors may affect the microbial contamination of meat, despite this, microbiological risk analysis is the most effective system for assessing and controlling the safety of meat and meat products, in particular lamb. Therefore, the purpose of our study was to determine the microbiological parameters of lamb obtained from animals affected by monitors, in particular during peak infestations in the southern region. We investigated 125 lamb’s carcasses killed in Berezovsky and Saratsky districts of the Odessa region within 3 months. 35 carcasses from that quantity were infected by monieziosis. This amounts 28%. Percentage of moniezia disease  was 20% in May, in June and July respectively 39.1% and 22.7%. The results of study showed that the defeat of lambs at the age of 4−6 month by moniezia leads to decrease of quality of mutton. The microbiological indexes indicate it. Study of common bacterial contamination established that the QMAFAnM in samples of experimental group didn’t exceed the allowable level in May and June. So, in May allocated 3.01 ± 0.28×103* CFU per 1 g (Р ≤ 0.05). This is true toward control. The quantity of Colonies Forming Units per 1 g increased in June and was 3.13 ± 0.23×105 (Р ≤ 0.05). The increase is related to gradual height of the inflammatory process, intoxication, allergization of lamb’s organism that caused by moniezia. The QMAFAnM exceed the allowable level in July and was 5.22 ± 0.11×106 CFU per 1 g (Р ≤ 0.05). This indicates a questionable quality of meat. That raw materials can’t be used by consumers on general grounds. It can cause outbreaks of food poisoning. The QMAFAnM during experimental period didn’t exceed the allowable level and was within the 1.81 ± 0.34−4.31 ± 0.12×102 CFU per 1 g in carcasses from non-invasive by moniezia (control group) animals. Collibacillus bacterias have indentified during all experimental period in samples from invasion by moniezia animals. At the same time collibacillus bacterias in samples from non-invasion animals were found only in June and July. Average content of colibacillus baсterias was within the 1.68 ± 0.12−4.65 ± 0.26×102 (Р ≤ 0.05) CFU per 1 g for experimental group. The index didn’t exceed the allowable level but it was higher than indexes in control group. Salmonella contamination was not detected in any groups of samples.

The production of ecologically clean fish products is in demand in the food market. As a result of the research, the nutritional quality and chemical composition of the muscle tissue of the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus L.) were evaluated using the pro-biotic additive Enzimsporin. A valuable quality of Nile tilapia meat is its high protein content. In the muscle tissue, the maximum amount of protein was 80.4%, in the yearlings of the 1st experimental group, which is 7.51% (P ≥ 0.99) higher than in the control group. Yearlings of the 2nd experimental group outperformed their peers from the control group by 4.8% (P ≥ 0.95). Its amount in fry of Nile tilapia varied from 72.27–72.73% in the experimental groups to 74.71% in the control group. The fat content in fry varied from 9.55% in the control to 12.19% in the fish of the 2nd experimental group. The amount of lipids was the highest in the control variant of Nile tilapia yearlings (11.48%), which is 6.48% more than in the 1st experimental group and by 4.48% more than that in the 2nd experimental group. The lipid-protein coefficient (0.06-0.09) of the experimental groups characterizes the meat as less tender, but high in protein, possessing lipotropic properties that protect the liver from fatty infiltration. The study of nutritional value and functional and technological properties shows that tilapia meat can be attributed to highly saturated food raw materials and used to obtain dietary products.

The authors highlight that broiler poultry is considered to be one of the most profitable and promising sectors of agriculture. At the same time, industrial technologies experience unsolved problems, such as death of young poultry in the first weeks of life due to the lack of resistible immune system, which is formed by the end of the third week. In this regard, development and application of immune stimulating specimens is a promising direction for stimulation and maintenance of natural poultry resistance and improve its economic parameters. The specimens used should not affect the quality and products safety. The example of such specimen is ImmuGuard; it was tested in the experimental vivarium conditions at the Department of Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise of Livestock Products And Hygiene of Agricultural Animals at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine And Biotechnology of Omsk State Agrarian University. The researchers arranged three experimental groups from Ross broilers on the basis of similarity. 1st experimental group received the specimen dosed 150; second group of broilers -250 g / t of water during 18 days from the date of hatching, and the 3rd group was arranged as a control one. Growth and weight parameters were determined by individual weighing of poultry every seven days. The quality of broilers’ meat was assessed by means of conventional methods used in veterinary and sanitary assessment of poultry meat. The experience showed a positive effect of the specimen on live weight gain of poultry: the authors observed body weight of broilers aged 42 days from first experimental group was 4.12 higher; broilers from the 2nd group 1.39% in comparison with the control group. The authors highlight a significant increase in the average daily growth: the 1st group showed the growth on 32.21% from the 22nd to the 35th day in respect to the control parameters. Organoleptic, physico-chemical and microbiological parameters of meat of all groups conformed to GOST 31470-2012 and SanPiN 2.3.2.1078-01 standards.

The realization of the genetic potential of farm animals is first of all determined by the complete feeding, which is determined by its balance in accordance with the needs of animals with a certain physiological state and level of productivity. The study of enzyme compositions in the feeding of mammalian farm animals that promote better digestion of incoming nutrients is an urgent issue. Feed enzymes not only increase the digestibility of individual feed components, but also allow you to increase the rate of input of inexpensive raw materials “rich” in anti-nutritional factors without compromising the health and productivity of the animal. The purpose of the research was to study the use of enzyme compositions in the feeding of cattle and pigs. The results of the study of enzyme compositions in the rations of lactating cows during the period of increasing the milk yield and pigs during the period of rearing and fattening have been presented in the article. The input of enzyme additives with a cellulolytic effect in the rations of cows had the positive effect on the digestibility of nutrients in the feeding ration, milk productivity, and the composition of milk. During the first 100 days of lactation milk with natural fat content was produced from cows of the 1st experimental group by 5,5 % more and from cows of the 2nd experimental group by 13,8 % more than from animals of the control group. In terms of 4 % milk the animals of the 1st experimental group exceeded the control analogues by 7,32 % and in the 2nd group by 18,1 %. The input of 1 kg/t of feed in the diet of the multienzyme composition “Kemzaym W” animals allowed us to get 81,7 kg of additional gain, more profi t compared to the 1st experimental group, where the additional gain was 24,7 kg. The use of the multienzyme composition “Kemzaym W” in the amount of 1 kg/t in the diets of young pigs had the positive effect on the digestibility of raw nutrients, on the increase in live weight and average daily gains, on the yield of meat and the quality of carcasses.

Teaching materials by integrating local culture makes easier for students to understand the subject matter in the learning process. The aims of the study is to measure the effectiveness of teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai in improving the students problem solving abilities. The research method was a quasi experimental which use non equivalent control group in the pretest posttest design. The sample of study were students of Senior High School grade X in Binjai that consisted of experiment group which used teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai and control group that used student handbooks. Teaching materials are tested by material experts and technology experts to ensure the quality of teaching materials. Data collection was conducted through test. The results showed that the teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai effective in improving students problem solving abilities in the experimental group students based on the results of N gain value was 0.67 which has medium criteria. It means teaching materials based on agricultural local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai can be used as one of the teaching materials in learning activities.

In modern poultry farming the most urgent tasks are to search for and test new environmentally safe feed and economically justifi ed additives that stimulate productivity, positively aff ect the health of poultry, and consequently increase the livability of livestock and other important zootechnical traits. In order to maintain physiologically normal processes of life, metabolism and increase the level of productivity of poultry it needs mineral components and their chelated compounds. The purpose of this work was to increase the egg productivity of poultry by using the silicon-containing poly additive Nabicat in feeding young hens and laying hens. The researches have been carried out on the poultry cross Highsex Brown under the environments in CJSC “Poultry Farm “Volzhskaya” in the Sredneakhtubinsky area in the Volgograd region. In this paper, The optimal dose of the introduction of the silicon-containing poly additive Nabicat in the diets of young and laying hens of the cross Highsex Brown has been scientifi cally justifi ed and the biological value of using an organic form of silicon has been determined. The positive infl uence of the optimal dose of poly additive on growth, consumption, and digestibility, nutrient metabolism in the poultry body, as well as egg productivity and quality of the resulting egg has been revealed. Thus, the average egg productivity per 1 hen in the control group during the experiment period was 321,3 pcs., and in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd experimental groups it was 322,6 pcs., 325,8 and 325,7 pcs., which was higher than in the control group by 0,40 %, 1,40 and 1,37 %, respectively. The average egg weight in the 1st experimental group exceeded the control by 0,43 g or 0,68 %, in the 2nd experimental group by 1,16 g or 1,84 %, in the 3rd experimental group by 0,81 g or 1,28 %. The economic eff ectiveness of using the organic silicon additive in the composition of Nabicat poly additive in the feeding of laying hens has been proved. The economic eff ect due to the use of diff erent doses of the introduction of silicon-containing poly additive Nabicat in compound feed for laying hens of the 1st experimental group was 141,66 rubles, the 2nd experimental group 962,76 rubles, and the 3rd experimental group 821,89 rubles.

The results of researches on the development of new mineral feed additives based on raw materials produced by Uralchem and the study of the eff ectiveness of their use in the rations of lactating cows have been presented in the article. The experiment has been carried out in the conditions of LLC “PF Barabinskoe” in the Dalmatovsky area in the Kurgan region where 3 groups of lactating cows of Black-and-White breed have been formed. Animals in the control group have been received the ration adopted in the farm, the 1st experimental group with the additive RusMA No. 1 at a dose of 150 g, the 2nd experimental group– with the additive RusMA No. 2 at the dose of 350 g. The use of experimental mineral additives in feeding lactating cows allowed us to increase their milk productivity and profi tability of production. At the same time, the best eff ectiveness was shown by the additive RusMA No. 2 at the dose of 350 g/head/day. The use of RusMA additives during the experiment period (105 days) allowed to increase the milk productivity of cows in the 1st experimental group by 6,03 % and in the 2nd experimental group by 8,24 %. Taking into account the fat content in milk, this diff erence was 6,31 and 8,53 %, respectively. The energy value of milk from cows of the experimental groups was higher compared to the control group by 2,45 and 1,76 %, respectively. According to the content of dry matter in milk, cows of the 2nd experimental group exceeded the control and 1st experimental group by 0,39 and 0,12 abs.%, respectively. The maximum milk fat content has been observed in the milk of cows of the 1st experimental group by 0,03 and 0,01 abs.% more than in the control and 2nd experimental groups, respectively. In terms of protein content, the cows of the 2nd experimental group signifi cantly exceeded the control group by 0,10 abs.% and the 1st experimental by 0,04 abs.%. The content of milk sugar in the 2nd experimental group was higher than in the control by 0,30 abs.% and compared to the 1st experimental by 0,11 %. Signifi cantly more calcium and phosphorus were contained in the milk of cows of the 2nd experimental group by 4,58 % (Р ≤ 0,001) and 2,86 % (Р ≤ 0,05), compared with the control group. The expenditures of feed in the EFU for the production of 1 kg of milk in animals of the 2nd experimental group was less by 5,13 % than in control cows and by 2,63 % compared to the 1st experimental group. The prime cost of 1 centner of milk was lower in the 2nd experimental group by 3,94 %, in the 1st experimental group by 2,65 % compared to the control group. The level of profi tability of milk production in the 2nd experimental group was higher by 9,0 and 1,0 abs.% in comparison with the control and 1st experimental groups, respectively.


This article presents the results of studying the impact of housing and feeding conditions on broiler chickens of Hubbard RedBro cross, as well as the quality of products obtained when using floor and cage content, in a farm. It established that when receiving a mixed feed of own production using feed raw materials grown on a farm without the use of pesticides, a statistically significant decrease in potentially dangerous substances for animal health is recorded. Compared with factory feed, it has reduced the content of pesticides by 14 times, and mercury and arsenic by 24 times, cadmium by five times, and lead by ten times. The results of the study of economic indicators of growing Hubbard RedBro cross broiler chickens, as well as the chemical composition and quality of carcasses, indicated that there was no significant difference between the floor and cell conditions of keeping. Still, the use of a diet based on eco-feeds contributed to a statistically significant decrease in the concentration of toxic metals in the muscles of the poultry of the experimental groups. As a result, it found that the use of the studied compound feed in the diets of broiler chickens increased the indicators of Biosafety and ensured the production of environmentally safe ("organic") poultry meat products.

Abstract Background Thalassemia have a negative impact on the patients' psychological health and sleep quality. This study aimed to determine the effects of a positive thinking training program on hope and sleep quality of patients with thalassemia major. Methods This randomized clinical trial was conducted on 78 patients with thalassemia major including 36 males (46.2%) and 42 females (53.8%) with a mean age of 25.56 ± 29.6 in Iran. Subjects were randomly assigned into experimental and control groups. Experimental group received 16 h training based on positive thinking materials published by Martin Seligman. Control group received only usual programs. Data were collected at baseline, as well as immediately and one month after the intervention, using Snyder’s Hope Scale and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. Data analysis was performed using SPSS Software 18.0; statistical tests included the independent T-test, the Chi-square, Mann Whitney, and Friedman test. Significance level was set at 0.05 in this study. Results The experimental group had a significantly higher mean hope score compared to the control group immediately (45.38 ± 7.82 vs. 35.32 ± 5.54, P < 0.001) and one month following intervention (44.67 ± 3.47 vs. 35 ± .54, P < 0.001). Moreover, the mean sleep quality scores of the experimental group was significantly greater than that for control group immediately (5.35 ± 2.02 vs. 7 ± 2.4, P = 0.004) and one month after the intervention (4.23 ± 2.2 vs.7.02 ± 3.03, P < 0.001). Conclusion Since our training program on positive thinking improved hope and quality of sleep in patients with thalassemia major, we recommend the use of such courses as an important step toward promotion of hope and sleep quality among these patients. Background and objectives: Acquired brain injury (ABI) is the first cause of disability and physical activity (PA) is a key element in functional recovery and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) during the subacute and chronic phases. However, it is necessary to develop PA programs that respond to the heterogeneity and needs of this population. The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of a PA program on the HRQoL in this population. Materials and Methods: With regard to recruitment, after baseline evaluations, participants were assigned to either the intervention group (IG, n = 38) or the control group (CG, n = 35). Functional capacity, mood, quality of life and depression were measured pre- and post-intervention. The IG underwent the “Physical Activity and Sport for Acquired Brain Injury” (PASABI) program, which was designed to improve HRQoL (1-h sessions, two to four sessions/week for 18 weeks). The CG underwent a standard rehabilitation program without PA. Results: Results for the IG indicated significant differences and large effect sizes for the physical and mental dimensions of quality of life, as well as mood and functional capacity, indicating an increase in HRQoL. No significant differences were found for the CG across any variables. Conclusions: The PASABI program was feasible and beneficial for improving physiological and functionality variables in the IG. The wide range of the activities of the PASABI program allow its application to a large number of people with ABI, promoting health through PA, especially in the chronic phase.

AbstractIntroductionMedical history is an important contributor to diagnosis and patient management. In mass-casualty incidents (MCIs), health care providers are often overwhelmed by large numbers of casualties. An efficient, reliable, and affordable method of information collection is essential for effective health care response.Hypothesis/ProblemIn some MCIs, self-reporting of symptoms can decrease the time required for history taking, without sacrificing the completeness of triage information.MethodsTwo resident doctors and a number of seventh graders who had previous experience of abdominal discomfort were invited to join this study. A questionnaire was developed to collect information on common symptoms in food poisoning. Each question was scored, and enrolled students were randomly divided into two groups. The experimental group students answered the questionnaire first and then were interviewed to complete the medical history. The control group students were interviewed in the traditional way to collect medical history. Time of all interviews was measured and recorded. The time needed to complete the history taking and completeness of obtained information were compared with students’ t tests, or Mann-Whitney U tests, based on the normality of data. Comprehensibility of each question, scored by enrolled students, was reported by descriptive statistics.ResultsThere were 41 students enrolled: 22 in the experimental group and 19 in the control group. Time to complete history taking in the experimental group (163.0 seconds, SD=52.3) was shorter than that in the control group (198.7 seconds, SD=40.9) (P=.010). There was no difference in the completeness of history obtained between the experimental group and the control group (94.8%, SD=5.0 vs 94.2%, SD=6.1; P=.747). Between the two doctors, no significant difference was found in the time required for history taking (185.2 seconds, SD=42.2 vs 173.1 seconds, SD=58.6; P=.449), or the completeness of information (94.1%, SD=5.9 vs 95.0%, SD=5.0; P=.601). Most of the questions were scored “good” in comprehensibility.ConclusionSelf-reporting of symptoms can shorten the time of history taking during a food poisoning mass-casualty event without sacrificing the completeness of information.HsuY, HuangYC.
