A detailed literature review provided consistent justification for the effect of entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) on entrepreneurial intention. Recently, the literature yielded similar relationship on the link between ESE to firm performance. Although there are a significant number of studies on this effect that was mostly conducted in the private sector, they mainly focused on the composite ESE construct. The present study replicated and validated these findings with data from the public sector, specifically, higher education institutions (HEIs). Moreover, the study focused on the individual effect of all dimensions of ESE identified by Chen, Greene, and Crick (1998). Using PLS-SEM and non-probability sampling, the data were collected from 180 academic leaders from selected HEIs in Kano, Nigeria. The findings indicated that three dimensions of ESE (financial control ESE, innovation ESE, and risk taking ESE) were found to be significantly related to HEI performance, while two (management ESE and marketing ESE) were insignificantly related to HEI performance. The practical implication and suggestion for future study are also discussed. Keywords: Entrepreneurial self-efficacy, HEIs, Performance

The study examined psychological factors that influence women entrepreneurial intention in Nigeria. One hundred and seventeen (117) women were drawn within Enugu metropolis using purposive random sampling technique. Their ages ranged between 18 and 50 years, with a mean age of 22.07. Cross-sectional design was adopted. Job involvement (JI), self-efficacy, goal orientation and entrepreneurial intention scales were instruments used for data collection. Three hypotheses were tested. Step-wise multiple regressions were the main statistics used for data analysis. Results of the regression analysis showed that among the studied variables, only self-efficacy was a significant predictor of women participation in entrepreneurship (p < 0.01). The three dimensions of goal orientation, learning goal orientation, prove (performance-prove) orientation, and avoid (performance-avoid) orientation, were not significant predictors of women participation in entrepreneurship. Similarly, JI did not also significantly predict women participation in entrepreneurship. A good practical implication of the finding of this study is that women who develop high self-efficacy are more likely to be entrepreneurs and that strategies to build high self-efficacy among women are needed to make more women become entrepreneurs in order to enhance national/grass-root development. Limitations were made, while suggestions for further studies were stated.

In this research, the factors affecting an individual’s ‘entrepreneurial intention’, which is a significant indicator of whether the individual will start a new enterprise, are examined within the Planned Behavior Theory. The main purpose of the research is to state what the determinants of entrepreneurial intention are. The study aims to contribute to answering the question, ‘Who can be the potential entrepreneurs in Turkey’ by presenting the factors having an impact on entrepreneurial intention on a regional basis through Zonguldak example. The roles of the research's independent variables (attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioural control, entrepreneurial self efficacy) on entrepreneurial intentions were tested on 229 trainees participating voluntarily in Applied Entrepreneurship Trainings organized by KOSGEB in Zonguldak and its towns. The results of the research show that attitudes towards entrepreneurial behaviour, perceived entrepreneurial control, entrepreneurial self-efficacy and subjective norms are influential on the entrepreneurial intention of the individual.

In this regard, measures are increasing to change the situation in additional education of children, the decision of which is entrusted to the system of pedagogical education. However, the difficulties in their implementation are due to the contradiction between the needs of society in the teaching staff, able to creatively solve professional problems in the field of additional education of children, and the unwillingness of graduates of pedagogical universities to work in the specific conditions of this sphere. Step-by-step development and formation of professionally significant qualities of the personality corresponding to the specific purposes and tasks of activity in system of additional education of children is the solution of this contradiction.

Abstract:Self-efficacy reflects the belief that the individual has in his/her own capabilities to organize and execute actions that are needed to accomplish certain goals. On the other hand, Engagement refers to a positive psychological and motivational state, which is associated with individual well-being. This investigation aims to examine the relationship between these two variables, presenting the hypothesis that there is a positive association between self-efficacy and engagement, of engineering students in Higher Education. The sample was composed of 361 students (M = 20.54; SD = 4.24). Self-efficacy and engagement assessment was conducted through a questionnaire administered to students in classroom. Results show a positive and significant association between the variables, being the strongest association between the behavioral dimension of engagement and self-efficacy, which are, in turn, positively associated with academic performance variables. In this study we present and discuss these results and their implications for psychological research and practice.

One of the most important functions of management is control. Without its implementation the manager won't achieve the objectives. On methods of implementation of function of control in management many works are published. However in system personal, that is personal, management of this function in scientific literature much less attention is paid. In a special measure such situation is characteristic of a problem of the personal organization of high school managers. University managers play a special, significant role in development of the higher education. Carry to them managers of departments, deans, the rectorial case, and also heads of functional services of management of university (educational and methodical, scientific, financial, cultural and educational and other divisions). Relying on understanding of an essence of personal management, in article scientific and methodical approaches to implementation of function of self-checking personal activities of university managers are considered. Usually activities of managers are estimated quality of work of subordinate divisions of university, and problems of an efficiency evaluation of the personal activities which aren't connected with a management of higher education institution often remain in the shadow. However, as a rule, managers of departments, deans, rectors (and their deputies) are not only managers, but also professors and associate professors interested in results of the personal activities in science, pedagogics, public life. In our opinion, productivity, effectiveness and efficiency of a personal labor can be the indicators allowing university managers to control the personal activities. Faithful at first sight, these concepts, actually have semantic distinctions, but in a complex allow the high school manager to perform real self-checking of the individual activities as scientists and teachers. Within the research content and forms of self-checking in the sphere of personal management is determined, the sense of key concepts, content and features of personal work of university managers is revealed, experience of implementation of the offered approaches is generalized, recommendations about use of the offered indicators in case of a quality evaluation of activities of high school managers are made.
