E-learning is an educational media that use ICT in the learning process. Nowadays, most of the higher education (universities) in Indonesia have integrated the learning process with e-learning systems. By using this system, learning can be done outside the classroom, anytime and anywhere. Based on the literature reviews, e-learning has many positive impacts on higher education components and its ecosystems, i.e., students, lecturers, higher education staff, and campus officials. Although it offers many advantages, similar to the information technology in general, e-learning systems are also vulnerable to security issues. Because, several security holes in the system can be penetrated easily by hackers, where the essential data contained in e-learning has high potential to be spoofed even modified by irresponsible parties. The security aspect of the e-learning system must be considered to minimize risks. Thus, the higher education can run their business as well. This paper aims to elaborate on the e-Learning system, opportunities, challenges, and several offered solutions on it. The research method used in this paper is literature studies from the latest references

Modern trends in the development of educational software are associated with adaptive learning systems that can personalize the learning process. One of the key quality indicators of any learning system is user engagement in learning process. The known methods for assessing engagement of users of computer systems are based on collecting of various data on the user’s behavior, his emotional and neurophysiological state, etc., and interpreting it in the context of involvement. Confidence in the results of assessments based on interpretations may be insufficient to make decisions based on these results, which is of fundamental importance in case of using in adaptive learning systems. And besides not all the methods can be used online, which is a prerequisite for application in adaptive learning systems. A method for online assessing engagement has been developed, based on a combination of oculography, emotion analysis and web analytics methods, which is applicable for adapting the learning process in adaptive learning systems. The joint analysis of the physiological state and behavior (actions) of the user allows to take into account various aspects of the possible manifestation of the user engagement, and increase the confidence in the results of the assessment of engagement. Quantitative engagement indicators based on metrics applicable to online engagement assessment are suggested. Due to ambiguity of possible interpretations of quantitative indicators of involvement, a generalized assessment of engagement is determined using a fuzzy inference mechanism. To assess engagement a linguistic variable is used and a method for assessing user engagement is based on fuzzy rules. The proposed method is implemented in a web application that can be used to assess involvement online in adaptive learning systems. To set the linguistic variable for assessing engagement, an experiment will be conducted with the participation of users of learning systems and external experts. The values of the linguistic variable will be defined in such a way that the result of assessing involvement, obtained using the developed method, does not contradict the results of expert assessments.

The implementation of online learning is a learning model carried out during the pandemic. The application of online learning certainly requires the readiness of various parties, both from the school, office holders, and the students. There are things that must be considered in online learning, including the quality of teacher resources, both in terms of content and methodology as well as in terms of the use of information technology. In addition, students are also less active in participating in this online learning, either due to an unstable internet network or in terms of providing limited internet quota. The purpose of writing this article is to learn and understand the problems in learning activities during the pandemic, namely distance learning through online media so that students can follow it actively and interestingly. Distance learning (PJJ) through online media during the COVID-19 pandemic has led to various responses and changes to the learning system that can affect the learning process and the level of development of students in responding to material.

The Industrial 4.0 Era encourages educators to be able to apply information technology in the learning process. One application of technology in the learning process is the use of learning videos. Especially during the current Covid 19 pandemic that applies online learning, videos can be an alternative source for learning. However, in reality, many teachers in Indonesia cannot make learning videos. Online learning is currently mostly only in the form of providing material from textbooks, discussions via WA, visiting students' homes to give assignments, and so on, so it is not optimal. Therefore, this training activity aims to train teachers in making learning videos so that teachers have other alternatives as a source of student learning. This activity is in the form of training in making and editing videos using the Bandicam application, Microsoft PowerPoint 2013, and the Kinemaster application. The results of this activity are participants/teachers for the Bandicam application with a 100% success rate, Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 100% success rate, Kinemaster the first stage success rate 70%, then the second stage 100%.

Low activity, student creativity in the learning process can result in the teaching and learning process being less than optimal so that the material presented is incomplete according to the expected completeness criteria. From the results of observations and discussions with the history subject teacher, information is obtained that the learning system has not fully involved students as the subject of learning consequently the final result to be achieved, namely individual and classical learning completeness with KKM (minimum completeness criteria) has not been achieved. One of the efforts made to improve the process and student learning outcomes, a learning method is used that makes it easier for students to compile and understand information or the content of the lesson text in increasing understanding of social studies subject matter so that learning outcomes are expected to increase, through the use of the SQ3R method. Based on the background of the problem, the formulation of the problem in this study is: "How are the students' learning outcomes increased through the SQ3R method in history learning for students of XII SMA Negeri 1 Tembilahan Hulu Indragiri Hilir? "The purpose of this study is to determine the activities of teachers and students as well as the improvement of student learning outcomes in history subjects through the SQ3R method for class XI SMAN 1 Kateman Indragiri Hilir. The conclusion of this study is that the student learning outcomes, before CAR the average daily test was 64.3, after the CAR based on the daily test cycle I increased to 81.8 and was included in the good category. In the second cycle of daily tests, it increased again to 92.8 and was included in the very good category. Thus, the use of the SQ3R method can improve student learning outcomes in history learning for class XII at SMAN 1 Tembilahan Hulu, Indragiri Hilir Regency

Information technology has created tremendous chances in higher education across the globe. With the availability and flexibility of learning online, there are increasing competitions between online learning and traditional, face-to-face classroom. These two types of learning both have their pros and cons. From the advantages and disadvantages of online learning, universities have recently changed the way of their teaching through combining online learning and traditional classroom. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate and understand the advancements of the combination of the two types of learning. In this paper, we will introduce the advantages and disadvantages of online learning and the combined learning. We also share our experience on teaching at Flinders University, South Australia through Flinders learning online system. From this knowledge, we will suggest some solutions about building a combined learning system which is suitable for Vietnamese universities.
