Through the introduction of value-free research concept in the 19th century by Western scholars, researchers both in the field of natural sciences and social sciences generally focus on the matter of facts without taking into consideration the issues of value arising from their research. Based on this statement, an important value-based research concept must be created by looking at the view of scholars before the rise of Western research activities. Therefore, this paper generally aims to identify the values that should exist in research. Specifically, this paper analyzes the views of previous Muslim scientists to formulate a value-based research concept. In order to do this, this paper takes into account the views of previous Muslim scientists such as Averroes and Alhazen through document study by the collecting the data from their works. Then, it is analyzed using a content analysis method. As a result, this paper found that the values inherent in the research of previous Muslim scientists such as acknowledgement of God’s oneness, justice, truthfulness, and sincerity do not directly affect their research activities, which deviates from scientific facts. In fact, these values give them the impact to commit hardly in achieving the truth.

The paper examines the various efforts aimed at restructuring macroeconomics policy in Nigeria. These efforts were captured in the SAP of 1986, NEEDS of 2004, the Transformation Agenda of 2011 and the ERGP of 2016. The paper adopted content analysis method of qualitative research given the peculiarity of the subject matter. There were documented evidence that during the aforementioned periods, the economy showed signs of growth and development. Despite the gains of the reforms, Nigeria is still grappling with economic growth and development issues-unemployment, poverty and rising cost of living. This paper however recommends that there should be continuity in programmes and policies of government. Programmes and policies should not change with regime change. There should be a deliberate and conscious effort on the part of government and policy makers to design programmes and policies that are people oriented, home grown and have the capacity to promote and sustainable growth and development.

This article purports to examine how the expectations of the educational reforms in Moroccan higher education have impacted the teaching and testing of tertiary level grammar. In particular, the hypothesis we defend here is that teaching and testing tertiary level grammar remain constant; therefore, the impact of the various reforms on tertiary level testing is of little consequence. In pursuance of this aim, this paper uses a qualitative approach and content analysis method of the course descriptions of the grammar courses that were suggested across the various reforms. The course descriptions we attempt to analyze are adopted in the English Studies tracks of four major departments in Moroccan universities. The main dimensions that we look at and examine here as the measures for our comparative evaluation are; course objectives, time allotted, the syllabi they contain, teaching methodology, and evaluation modes. The findings confirm that the various reforms, have had little impact on the teaching and testing of grammar in higher education. The paper concludes by suggesting a few pedagogical recommendations vis-à-vis the teaching and testing of grammar in Moroccan Departments of English studies.

The impact of the pandemic has influenced every aspect of people’s life. One of the positive impacts of the pandemic in Indonesia is the existence of the community initiative to prevent the COVID-19 spreading. This article aims to explore several initiatives coming from the society in relation to COVID-19 and the lesson learned for the society to have preparedness in facing health disasters. The data come from the 39 online news on the internet, the data was then analysed using a content analysis method. The authors found that Indonesian community initiative can be distinguished by two purposes i.e. to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 and to help the vulnerability group cope with the economic impact of COVID-19. Furthermore, mostly the initiative originally came from society without the intervention of the government. It is important to note that the collaboration between the government, both the centre and local, and the society should be strengthened.

Editing of Eka Sabara’s manuscript entitled Para Ulama dan Tokoh Loloan Abad ke-19 Masehi: Syarif Tue dan Encik Ya’kub (or in brief, Para Ulama dan Tokoh Loloan) is the second work of the efforts to document cultural legacy of the Loloan islamic community, of Jembrana, west Bali. This second manuscript focuses on the Loloan moslem figures of the 19th century, the time of which was thought to be the second landmark of the spread of Islamic faith and community in the area. In contrast to the first manuscript editing of the same author, i.e. of Eka Sabara’s Daeng Nachoda (2018), the editing of Para Ulama dan Tokoh Loloan manuscript involves significant addition of information to the original manuscript. The problems raised in the editing process comprises: (1) what are the characteristics of Eka Sabara’s manuscript entitled Para Ulama dan Tokoh Loloan?, and (2) what are editing strategies necessary to produce a coherent and cohesive text? The editing is based on Blanchard dan Root’s (1997) guides on editing academic texts, and content analysis method and editing techniques are conducted on the first draft (the manuscript) to suit the theme and purpose of the manuscript. The editing result shows that the manuscript needs to undergo major addition of chapters to meet the theme and to include other religious figures who also took part in the spread of Islamic faith and development of Loloan moslem community in Jembrana. Other editing techniques include addition, omission, rearrangement of information, all of which are used to produce a coherent, theme-suppporting text. The result of the editing process is a ready manuscript to be registered in the national library catalogue (with ISBN number) and then to be published as the document of a legacy of values and wisdom held and lived by the historical islamic figures in the Loloan community in Jembrana.

Intellectual capital is of great value to profit-oriented organizations today. In the modern environment, the issue of strategic advantage is inseparable from the consideration of the issue of intellectual capital, bearing in mind that intellectual capital is a generator of economic value. In order for banks, as modern profit-oriented organizations, to achieve target performance, they need to know what their competitive advantage is, and to identify the necessary capacities and resources for sustainable business. The role of intellectual capital is crucial when it comes to the performances of modern banks, given the dynamic competitive environment in which they operate today. However, regardless of that, the literature that focuses precisely on the settings of these financial organizations is insufficiently represented and fragmented. This research, based on the application of the content analysis method, provides a structured review of the literature on the specifics of managing intellectual capital in banks. Further research could analyse the impact of intellectual capital on the performances of banks operating in the Republic of Serbia.
