The problem of future aviation specialists motivation to learn foreign languages in the conditions of remote learning has been analyzed in the given article. It has been defined that motivation is a critical component of students learning and their achievements as their success in studying depends on the level of their motivation. It has been underlined that demotivation has a negative effect on educational process. The results of the observation and students interviewing have helped to define the main problems which lead to students demotivation. Among them we can distinguish the following ones: the students are not ready to perceive a big amount of information online; technical problems with the Internet; some personal problems caused by the fact that students stay at home; the absence of universal approach for teaching different subjects; the teachers lack of knowledge in the sphere of IT; a big amount of tasks online which do not fully correspond to the learning tasks. A few practices have been developed to make online learning more effective. They are presented underneath: using the tasks in which students express their point of view on the learnt material and the aspects they havent covered yet; making the activities used in the classroom shorter and, therefore, more effective; using tests and other evaluation techniques to monitor the quality of the learning process; using the sessions in which students can ask questions and take part in the discussions; meetings in breakout rooms during online classes; personal messages to students encouraging them to be actively involved in the learning process; applying real life situations to demonstrate the content; using the project method and additional work with it. The process of modernization of the sphere of education nowadays in the terms of online classes in higher educational establishments is a real challenge today. To succeed in it, we need to create friendly and comfortable virtual environment which will help students to become successful and overcome language barriers. It has also been advised to use different methods to motivate the students to learn the languages by referring to group work and interactive methods and developing critical thinking skills. Key words: motivation to learn foreign languages, aviation specialists training, remote learning, development of communicative competence, COVID-19 pandemic, interactive teaching methods.

The article analyzes modern methods of teaching a foreign language and justifies the expediency of their use in technical institutions of higher education. The process of teaching English in non-linguistic higher educational institutions has certain features related to the different initial level of language training of first-year students; the number of academic hours allocated to the study of this discipline; the quantitative composition of groups; low motivation to learn a foreign language. It is noted that motivation plays an important role in the educational process, the formation of which among students of technical universities should be one of the main tasks of the educational process. It is established that it is possible to significantly increase the effectiveness of the lesson provided that the content of the discipline "foreign language" is professionally oriented in technical universities. It is found that the use of interactive learning technologies involves the use of communicative, in particular cognitive-communicative, and constructivist methods of teaching a foreign language. It is proved that the use of innovative approaches to teaching English and multimedia teaching tools allows students to increase motivation to learn foreign languages, provide access to new, alternative sources of information, develop independent mental activity, form communication skills, cultural and professional competence.

The article considers the genesis of the concept of «interactivity» in modern psychological, pedagogical and methodological research. It is determined that interactivity runs through the entire history of pedagogical education. The paper analyzes the concept of «interactivity» in pedagogy, methods of teaching foreign languages, programming, telecommunications, multimedia, design, cultural studies, literature, sociology. The purpose of the educational process is to prepare future teachers for professional activities in rapidly changing conditions, the formation of thinking as a factor in the formation of the modern personality of the future teacher and the introduction of democratic values in future teachers of the new generation. It is noted that the competence approach in the organization of the educational process requires the teacher to change the learning process: its structure, forms of organization of activities, the principles of interaction of subjects. It is established that in interactive learning the interaction of the teacher and the future teacher changes: the activity of the teacher gives way to the activity of future teachers, and the task of the teacher is to create conditions for their initiative. The learning process is organized in such a way that almost all its participants are involved in the process of cognition, they have an opportunity to understand and reflect on what they know and think. It is found that the peculiarity of interactive methods is the high level of mutually directed activity of the subjects of interaction, emotional, spiritual unity of the participants.

Mathematics is a science of the quantitative, spatial and temporal relations of real-world objects. Geometry, along with arithmetic, is an essential part of mathematics. In the training of modern school and university students, it is necessary to use different forms and methods of organizing the educational process that meet the national educational standards. In higher education, interactive methods aim not only at communicating information but also at actively involving students in the learning process – knowledge is gained through individual participation and contact with specific information. Learning activities are related to research and cooperation. Students need to analyse and interpret certain information. Interactive methods require teamwork and dialogue-type communication among the participants. Students participate actively in the learning process, show creativity, and acquire valuable practical experience. In its very nature, mathematical knowledge is abstract. This necessitates the wide use of visual aids. It is important for the students to not only be passive observers and listeners of the teacher’s explanation. The teacher’s role is also very important and is related to how they organize their work in order to motivate and retain the attention of the students. With the help of educational computer presentations, the lecturer and the students are given the opportunity to present in a visual and detailed manner the knowledge about certain mathematical concepts that has to be mastered. The educational presentation presents information that has been didactically processed and presented in such a way that it forms concepts and provokes conclusions. The main idea of this article is related to the use of educational computer presentations with regard to the learning material in Geometry taught in the primary school. In the training of students from the specialities: Pre-school and Primary School Education, Primary School Education and Foreign Language Teaching and Education, during the seminars and the practical exercises on the subjects: Didactics of Mathematics and Math Teaching Methodology, were used presentations prepared in advance. They revealed the sequence of introduction of geometric knowledge for each grade. Then, students took part in a group work on examining curricula and defining the types of geometric tasks/problems by analyzing five of the new mathematics book sets for 3rd grade. The aim was to improve the quality of education by offering students the practical experience and skills they needed for their future professional realization. The process of training and working with students was carried out in May and June 2019.This article is part of the research work on the National Science Program “Young Scientists and Postdoctoral Students” (2018-2020) - https://www.mon.bg/bg/100542. The program aims at stimulating, attracting and retaining young scientists and postdoctoral students with the purpose of ensuring quality reproduction of human potential for research activities.

The article considers the issue of design thinking developing methods in foreign language classes. The study materials are presented by educational and methodological courses for teaching foreign languages, methodical developments for professionally oriented teaching, checklists of students’ educational and scientific activity, the final rating of the educational process of the academic groups participating in the experiment. The methods of observation, questioning and interviewing were used. The experimental results were statistically processed. The authors differentiate between the concepts of "design thinking" and "creative thinking" which are often confused. In this case design thinking is viewed as a higher level of thought process. It was found that the most effective basis for developing students' design thinking skills is the OIW (organized independent work), in particular, project activities. The effectiveness of the methodology for the formation and development of students’ design thinking competence core has been proven experimentally in 2018-2020 academic semesters in the process of full-time and remote working modeat at the Foreign Languages and Humanities Department of the Kamyshin Technological Institute (branch) of the Volgograd State Technical University. The conducted study showed that students participation in the experiment significantly influenced their outlook, quality of intellectual modeling, research activities, subject communication both in their native and foreign languages.

2020 was a truly revolutionary year in terms of education – from the paradigm of predominantly traditional education, we had to rapidly “step” into a distance format, regardless of our desire and readiness. In 2020 two tectonic shifts happened at once: the shift from synchronous offline classes (education) to synchronous online and then from synchronous formats to asynchronous and mixed. In addition to issues related to the technical support of the educational process, the issue related to the development of new professional and pedagogical principles and rules that would contribute to the highly moral behavior and activities of the teacher in creating a comfortable environment for all participants of distance learning process, emphasizing that ethical requirements must reflect the relationship between teachers and learners. We conducted a research aimed at revealing the principles and values the teachers consider crucial to follow when conducting online classes, the skills they think they need master in order to raise the level of their professional expertise, improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning processes, and make their students self-confident and independent. The results of the survey can be used in designing special courses devoted to professional or pedagogical ethics in online learning.
