Higher education institutions should be able to change the mindset of students who are not only as job seekers, but also job creators especially when educated unemployment in Indonesia increases every year. Entrepreneurship is one solution in tackling unemployment and poverty which will encourage national economic growth. This study examines the effect of self-efficacy and contextual environment on entrepreneurial behavior with entrepreneurial intention as an intervening variable using Theory of Planned Behavior. The subjects of this study were Semarang State University students who owned a business and joined the UNNES Student Entrepreneurship Center (UNSEC) and Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia Perguruan Tinggi (HIPMI PT) Semarang State University totaling 310 students. The results showed a direct relationship between self-efficacy and contextual environment towards entrepreneurial behavior and indirect relationships through entrepreneurial intentions. It was proved by the moderating role of entrepreneurial intention in facilitating the relationship of self-efficacy and contextual environment to student entrepreneurial behavior in accordance with the Theory of Planned Behavior. Future studies can use elements of social and demographic psychology that are more complete and involve a wider population.

This article comparatively examines the higher education reform pathways of France and Italy. Using a scheme of empirical indicators, I focus on the divergent and convergent developments in these two countries, which played a pioneering role in the Europeanization of higher education. While France has consistently moved closer to a market-oriented model, legacies of academic self-rule were initially strengthened in Italy, before recent reforms aimed to crack down on academic power abuses. To explain these policy pathways, I pursue a dual theoretical argument by linking institutional isomorphism with historical institutionalism. Points for practitioners The article examines the changing structures of higher education management and administration in France and Italy. It focuses on the new roles attributed to the state, university leaders and external stakeholders, and addresses whether both systems have converged on a market-oriented paradigm. I explain how and why various new competitive steering instruments were introduced. The analysis should be of interest to both scholars and practitioners due to its focus on new power arrangements in quality assurance, university administration and research governance.

The article seeks to explore the theoretical and methodological fundamentals of enterprise management. It is emphasized that effective implementation of the enterprise diversification and integrated development process largely depends upon its effective management. Apparently, effective managerial decisions are based on timely information and its rapid processing which should rely upon relevant methodology to ensure the process of enterprise diversification and its integration driven development. The purpose of this research is to provide conceptual generalization and supporting rationale for the methodological toolkit to carry out effective implementation of the action plan towards enterprise diversification and its integrated development in the context of a ‘management functions’ classification criterion. To attain the research objectives, the following methods have been employed: classification, analogy, abstraction, grouping, analysis, and synthesis. The study provides classification of such methods as planning, arrangement, motivation, regulation and control and views them as management functions in the frameworks of enterprise diversification and integration driven development perspective, along with describing the specifics of the selected methods application. The findings offer opportunities to adapt each of the methods to the process of enterprise diversification and integrated development as well as specifies the possible outcomes resulted from implementation of each group of the selected methods to ensure and enhance the enterprise diversification and integrated development performance. It has been verified that the above type of method selection contributes to retrieve information necessary for the effective implementation of the process of enterprise diversification and integration driven development through its rational design (identifying promising business units and the need to involve additional business units of other enterprises); efficient performance (optimization of business unit activities and their relationships); smooth integration into the enterprise operation cycle; in-process control of the enterprise diversification and integrated development by timely and accurate problem identification and decision making, as well as building strategies to mitigate or eliminate their negative effects using the outcomes (data) obtained by using the respective group of methods.

This study aims to look at the potential for the development of waqf-based universities in West Sumatra. This study begins with the problem of the magnitude of potential waqf in Indonesia, especially West Sumatra, which has not been managed optimally. This condition is a great opportunity for the education sector to be able to transform and develop waqf as a financing alternative to higher education. Waqf can be managed by producing and investing in real sector and investment in Islamic financial institutions. Many financing models can be done with waqf assets, but must pay attention to sharia-compliant principles. The research data was collected through in-depth interviews with several Islamic university leaders and various waqf stakeholders. The results of this study indicate that so far, no information has been obtained regarding the true potential of waqf in West Sumatra because the data collected from each waqf manager is still not optimal and requires a long time. But what needs to be done now is to optimize waqf management and increase socialization especially for money waqf.
