This study was  carried  out  to  find  out  whether  or  not  team  word-webbing technique  can improve students’ reading comprehension on expository reading text comprehension, description text structure, particularly to the students at the tenth grade of SMA Usdatara Kota Sorong in academic year 2016/2017. In this study the writer used pre-experimental study. Pre-experiment or pre experimental, the design used in this study was the one group pretest-posttest design, the writer only teaches in one class because the school only has one class for each grade. This design includes a pre-test measure followed by a treatment and a post-test for a single group. From the statistical analysis by using paired sample t-test on SPSS 16.00, the output of statistical computation showed that the score of t-count was 6.749 with the df 18. The score of t-table for standard significant 5% (0.05) and df 18 was 2.101. Thus, the score of t count was higher than ttable (6.749 > 2.101), it can be clearly concluded that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It means that team word-webbing technique can improve students’ on reading expository text in comprehension description text structure, particularly to the students at the tenth grade of SMA Usdatara Kota Sorong in academic year 2016/2017.

The objective of this research was to find out whether there was a significant effect of using REAP (Read, Encode, Annotate, Ponder) on students’ reading comprehension in analitycal exposition text of the eleventh grade of SMK Swasta Harapan Stabat in academic year 2019/2020. In this research, the researcher took 80 students as the sample. As the experimental class, the researcher used class XI.1 ADP which consisted of 40 students and for the control class, the researcher used class XI.4 ADP that consist of 40 students. The, the researcher gave pre-test and post-test to both classes. The researcher then statistically analyzed the data by using t-test. After analyzing the data, the researcher concluded that teaching analytical exposition text using REAP method was effective. As the fact, the result of t-test was 2,86 with df = 78. Because there was not df 78 in the t-table, so the researcher decided to use df 60 since it is closer to 78 than df 120.The table at df 60 showed that the value of t-table (  was 2,00 for 5% and 2,66 for 1%. Theoritically, the Alternative Hypothesis ( ) was accepted if the value of t-test was greater than the value of t-table ( > ( . The finding showed that t-test was greater than t-table (2,86 > 2,00 and 2,66). The researcher meant the hypothesis ( ) was accepted. It was stated that “There is a significant effect of using REAP method on students’ reading comprehension in analytical exposition text of the eleventh grade students of SMK Swasta Harapan Stabat in academic year 2019/2020” was accepted.

This research is a study of improving students’ ability in reading comprehension. The aim was to find out whether the use of Herringbone technique would bring a significant difference in teaching reading comprehension through Recount text, compared with the result before the students being treated. The study was conducted in the tenth grade students of SMA N 4 Pematangsiantar. The research method used was the experimental design, where the Experimental group was the PMIA 3 class, and the PMIA 2 class as the control class. Both of the classes had 34 students in each of it. The data were obtained through pre-test, treatment and post test. The pre-test was held to know the students’ basic ability or score before treatment was given. Meanwhile, the post test was held to know the students’ achievement and significant effect after the students were taught using Herringbone technique. Finding of the research showed that both groups had a significant improvement in their reading ability after being treated and passed the KKM. The Control group, which the pre-test score was 60, made an improvement shown in their post-test score in amount of 70,44. The experimental group, the group which the researcher treated the Herringbone technique to them, had a higher improvement than the control group. The average score of pre-test in this group was about 54,41 where then being improved up to 78,97. The score of t-test (3,981) was higher than t-table (1,668) at the level of significance 5% for two tailed test, so Null Hypothesis is rejected and Alternative Hypothesis is accepted.

The ability of students to read comprehension is relatively low, especially in understanding the reading text of the report of observations, so we need a learning innovation that can improve students' ability to read comprehension through the application of the SQ3R strategy. The formulation of the problem in this study are (1) How is the ability to read text comprehension reports on students' observations? (2) What is the ability to read understanding text reports of students' observations after using the SQ3R strategy? (3) Is the application of the SQ3R learning strategy effective in learning to read the text of the observation report? The purpose of this study is (1) to describe the ability of students to read the understanding of the text of the observation report. (2) describe the ability of students to read the text of the observation report after using SQ3R. (3) describe the effectiveness of the use of SQ3R in learning to read the text of the observation report. This study uses the Pre Experiment research method with the One-Group Pretest-Postest design. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in the ability to read comprehension in the text of the student's observation report. This is indicated by an increase in the average reading comprehension value of 15.98 from the average results before the implementation of the SQ3R learning strategy by 55.83 and after the implementation of the SQ3R strategy by 71.81. So that the SQ3R strategy is effectively applied to the learning of reading comprehension of the observation report text.
