The aim of this research is to know the effect of CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting and Extending) learning models to students concept understanding of atomic strukture. This research is quasi experimental research with a nonequivalent control group. The population in the research is class X SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Timur. The samples in the research was X MIPA 2 as an experimental class and class X MIPA 5 as a control class which was determined randomly. The experimental class was treated with the implementation of CORE learning model while the control class with a scientific approach. Data was collected using essay test instruments. The data obtained from test were analyzed descriptively and statistically by the test-t right side. The results of data analysis obtained tcount = 5,63 and ttable = 1,66 with α = 0,05, dk = 74. Tcount > ttable is 5,63 > 1,66 meaning that the implementation of CORE learning model can improve students concept understanding on the subject of atomic structure in the class X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Timur. Criteria students concept understanding in the experimental class with an average N-gain of 0,80 while the average N-gain in the control class is 0,69.

The research about the CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting and Extending) model has been conducted in SMAN 4 Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research is to detemine wheterthe application of CORE learning can improve achievement and the influence of application of CORE learning model in class XI IPA SMAN 4 Pekanbaru on the subject solubility aquilibrium (Ksp). The type of this research is experimental research with experiment design randomized control group pretest-posttest. Sample of the research consisted of two classes, a class XI IPA 5 as an experimental class (implemented the CORE learning model) and class XI IPA 1 as the control class (without the CORE learning model). Test tecniques used as a tecnique in collecting research dats. T-test and coefficient determinasi was used as analysis technique. Based on the data analysis obtained t > t table is 5,71 > 1,66, meaning that the application of the CORE learning model can improve the student achievement on the subject solubility aquilibrium (Ksp) in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru with the great influence of implementation of the CORE learning model on improving learning achievement is 31,178%.

Abstract:Application of the REACT Learning Models in Increasing the Understanding of Students' Concepts. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a class that aims to know: (1) How is the description of students' understanding of mathematical concepts before and after the application of the REACT learning model. And (2) Is there an increase in students' understanding of concepts after the application of the REACT model. In this study using a concept understanding test instrument. From the results of the study, it was concluded that. (1) The application of the REACT learning model can change the average understanding of students' mathematical concepts from low categories to high categories. (2) Increasing understanding of mathematical concepts students on average are in the medium category. And (3) There is an increase in understanding of students' mathematical concepts with the application of REACT learning models.Abstrak:Penerapan Model Pembelajaran REACT dalam Peningkatan Pemahaman Konsep Siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan satu kelas yang bertujuan untuk mengtahui: (1) Bagaimana gambaran pemahaman konsep matematika siswa sebelum dan setelah  penerapan model pembelajaran REACT. Dan (2) Apakah terdapat peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa setelah penerapan model REACT. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan istrumen tes pemahaman konsep. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa.  (1) Penerapan model pembelajaran REACT dapat mengubah rata-rata pemahaman konsep matematika siswa dari kategori rendah menjadi kategori tinggi. (2) Peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa rata-rata berada pada kategori sedang. Dan (3) Terdapat peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran REACT.

The purpose of this research are: 1) to know the learning activity of learners mathematics which is taught by Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS), and 2) model to know the ability of problem solving of mathematics learners who taught by SSCS learning model in the class XI MIA MAN 1 Muara Labuh academic year 2016/2017. This research belongs to a kind of quasi-experimental research with randomized control group only design. In this study design, a group of subjects taken from a particular population were randomly assigned into two groups, the experimental group and the control group. After analyzing the data, it is known that the learning activity of the students after applying the SSCS learning model has improved towards the better from the first meeting to the fifth meeting, ie 35%, 45%, 55%, 68%, 77%. Based on the hypothesis test obtained ttable = 1.645 and tcount = 2.598 so obtained (2.598> 1.645) at 95% confidence interval. Because tcount > ttable then hypothesis in this research accepted. Thus, students 'math-problem-solving skills taught by SSCS learning models are higher than the students' uneducated mathematical problem-solving skills with SSCS learning modelsKeywords: Problem solving abilities, search, solve, sreate and share (SSCS) learning models

This study aimed to determine the effect of the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model with the outdoor approach towards students’ ability in mathematical representation. It was quasi-experimental research consisting of two experimental classes and one control group. It used a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was the students of SUPM Tegal. Sampling was conducted using cluster random consisting of three classes. The first experimental group was carried out by implementing the learning model of CTL with the outdoor approach. The second experimental group was carried out by implementing a learning model of CTL, while the control group was conducted by implementing a conventional learning model. The research instrument was a 7-point mathematical representation test in the form of an essay. The results of the research were 1) the learning model of CTL with an outdoor approach affected the improvement and achievement of the students’ ability in mathematical representation and was higher than CTL and a conventional learning; 2) the improvement of the students’ ability of representation in the groups of CTL with outdoor approach, CTL, and conventional learning respectively was in high, medium, and low category.

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan Keterampilan Proces Sains (KPS) siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry training dan pembelajaran konvensional mengenai materi pokok elastisitas dan hukum Hooke di SMA. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah quasi-experiment dengan desain two groups pretest-posttest. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 5 Medan. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling yang terdiri dari dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan observasi aktivitas KPS siswa. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan pengujian hipotesis uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan KPS yang signifikan antara penerapan menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry training dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional dengan nilai sig. 0,000 pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil uji N-Gain Score dengan penerapan model pembelajaran inquiry training lebih tinggi dalam meningkatkan KPS siswa sebesar 0,70 dalam kategori tinggi dibandingkan KPS siswa dengan penerapan pembelajaran konvensional sebesar 0,59 dalam kategori sedang. Kata kunci: keterampilan proses sains; model pembelajaran inquiry training. ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the differences in Science Proses Skills (SPS) of students using inquiry training learning model and conventional learning about the subject matter of elasticity and Hooke’s law in High School. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with two groups of pretest-posttest design. The population of this research is all students of class XI MIPA in Public Senior High School 5 Medan. The sample was taken by a purposive sampling technique that consists of two groups, namely an experimental group and a control group. The data collected technique has been done by tests and observations activities SPS student. The data in this research was analyzed a hypothesis-testing t-test. The results showed significant differences in SPS between the application of using inquiry training learning models compared to conventional learning with the value of sig. was 0.000 at the significance of level 0.05. Based on the results of the N-Gain Score test with the application of the inquiry training learning model is higher in increasing SPS of the students by 0.70 in the high category compared to SPS of students with the application of conventional learning by 0.59 in the medium category. Keywords: science process skills; inquiry training learning model.

This quasi – experimental research aims to determinethe effect of cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) and Numbered Heads Together (NHT) on students' mathematics achievement, and the effect ofcooperative learning model TPSand NHT on student motivation.Three classes were randomly selected for experiment and control groups, each class consists of 32 students. A questionnaire of 26 items is used to measure motivation test, and a test consisting of nine questions is used for measuring mathematics achievement. T-test was used for data analysis. The findings show that there is significant effect of both cooperative learningTPS model and NHT model onstudent mathematics achievement. However, the effect of  TPS and NHT models on student motivation to learn mathematics is not significant.   Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menganalisis  pengaruh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS dan tipe NHT terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar matematika. Penelitian ini melibatkan 3 kelas experimen dan kelas control, masing-masing terdiri dari 32 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes motivasi yang terdiri dari 26 indikator, dan tes matematika yang terdiri dari 9 pertanyaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa, demikian pula penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT juga berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa.  Namun tidak ada perbedaan signifikan hasil belajar matematika menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT. Di samping itu ditemukan pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPSdan Tipe NHT terhadap motivasi belajar matematika siswa.

AbstrakMasalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis (KKnM) siswa dan pembelajaran terlaksana cenderung bersifat konvensional. Suatu alternatif mengoptimalkan kemampuan bermatematika siswa dan perbaikan proses pembelajaran yaitu mempertimbangkan penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan open-ended. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan apakah terdapat interaksi Kemampuan Awal Matematika (KAM) dan gender dengan pendekatan pembelajaran dalam membelajarkan KKnM siswa. Penelitian merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah essay test KKnM siswa. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan sebanyak 9 rombongan belajar dan sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII-5 dan VII-6 yang masing-masing kelas berjumlah 28 siswa. Hasil penelitian melalui uji hipotesis dengan anava dua jalur menunjukkan tidak terdapat interaksi antara KAM dengan pendekatan pembelajaran dalam membelajarkan KKnM siswa dan tidak terdapat interaksi antara gender dengan pendekatan pembelajaran dalam membelajarkan KKnM siswa.Kata Kunci: Open-ended, KKnM, Pendekatan Pembelajaran, KAM, Gender. The Open-Ended Approach in Learning Mathematical Connection Ability of Middle School StudentsAbstractThe problem in this study was the low of students' Mathematical Connection Ability (MCA) and learning that tends to be conventional. An alternative to optimizing students' mathematical abilities and improving the learning process is to consider the applying of a learning approach to the open-ended approach. This study aims to describe is there any interaction between the Mathematical Prior Ability (MPA) and gender with the learning approach in teaching the students’ MCA. The research was quasi-experimental research with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The used instrument was the students’ mathematical connection ability essay test. The population of the research was 7th-grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan with 9 groups study and the sample of the research were students of grades VII-5 and VII-6, where the number of each class was 28 students. The research results by hypothesis testing with two-way Anava showed that there was no interaction between the MPA with the learning approach in teaching the students’ MCA and there was no interaction between gender with the learning approach in teaching the student’ MCA.Keyword: Open-ended, MCA, Learning Approach, MPA, Gender.

This study aimed to develop students' creativity through troubleshooting learning models in practical electro-pneumatic. This study was conducted during the Covid 19 pandemic where learning was carried out online. This troubleshooting practice learning is applied to simulation applications so that it can be a solution in implementing learning that cannot be carried out directly. This study used a quasi-experimental researched method with a controlled group pretest-posttest design pattern.  The sample consisted of 60 students majoring in mechanical engineering, State University of Semarang was divided into two classes.  The experimental class applies the troubleshooting-based practical learned model, while the controlled class implements practice learned without using the troubleshooting learned model. Based on the research result, the pretest mean value in the experimental group was 76.26 with a standard deviation of 11.97, while the pretest mean value in the control group was 74.53 with a standard deviation of 10.31. Meanwhile, the posttest mean score in the experimental group was 77.5 with a standard deviation of 7.62, while the posttest mean score in the control group was 64 with a standard deviation of 8.84. The average posttest score in the experimental group is higher than the control group so it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of the experimental class using a troubleshooting-based practical learning model are higher than the control class where troubleshooting learning models are not implemented in electro-pneumatic practice

Learning innovation is an effort to improve the quality of learning. One form of innovation is the integration of brain gym learning techniques and various learning models, including the Children Learning in Science (CLIS) model.  However, so far, there has never been a study of learning innovations through the integration of brain gym techniques with the CLIS model. This study aims at finding out the optimizing of the Children Learning in Science (CLIS) models with brain gym to empower students' human circulatory conception. This study is quasi-experimental research of pretest-posttest Nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was the students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 7 Kupang, which consisted of 173 students. The sample of this study were students of class XI MIA1 and XI MIA 2, which consisted of 61 students. The instrument used was a test of human circulatory conception developed by Andriani (2017). The results showed that the increase in students' human circulatory conception in CLIS learning combined with a gym is 40.61% higher than the increase in students' human circulatory conception in CLIS learning. It can be concluded that the application of brain gym can optimize Children Learning In Science (CLIS) potential in empowering students' human circulatory conception.

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kuis di awal pertemuan pada model discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 10 Luwu pada materi pokok larutan penyangga. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah posttest only control design. Sampel diperoleh secara acak dan terpilih kelas XI MIA 3 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dengan jumlah peserta didik 30 orang dan kelas XI MIA 2 sebagai kelompok kontrol dengan jumlah peserta didik 32 orang. Kelompok eksperimen dibelajarkan dengan pemberian kuis di awal pertemuan pada model discovery learning sedangkan kelompok kontrol dibelajarkan dengan model discovery learning tanpa pemberian kuis di awal pertemuan. Data hasil belajar dilakukan dengan pemberian tes hasil belajar. Hasil analisis statistik deskriptif menunjukkan nilai rata-rata posttest peserta didik kelompok eksperimen yaitu 81,33 dan nilai rata-rata posttest peserta didik kelompok kontrol yaitu 74,87. Hasil analisis statistik inferensial menunjukkan bahwa data terdistribusi normal dan homogen. Pengujian hipotesis yang dilakukan dengan uji parametrik dengan menggunakan uji-t menghasilkan hasil belajar thitung > ttabel = 2,45 > 1,67 pada α= 0,05. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian kuis di awal pertemuan pada model discovery learning berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 10 Luwu pada materi pokok larutan penyangga. Kata kunci: Pemberian kuis, Model discovery learning, Hasil belajar ABSTRACT This research is a Quasi-experimental that aims to know the effect of giving quizzes at the beginning of the meeting on the discovery learning model to the study result of the students of class XI MIA in SMA 10 Luwu on the subject matter of the buffer solution. The research design used was the posttest only control design. The sample is taken randomly so the XI MIA 3 is chosen as the experiment group with 30 students and XI MIA 2 as the control group with 32 students. The experiment group is taught by using quizzes at the beginning of the meeting in the discovery learning model meanwhile the control group is using the Discovery Learning Model without giving quizzes at the beginning of the meeting. Data result is collected by giving posttest. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis showed that the average study result of the experimental group student was 81.33 and the control group students was 74.87. The results of inferential statistical analysis show that the data is normally distributed and homogeneously. The hypothesis trial by using the parametric test t-test results thitung > ttabel = 2.45 > 1.67 in α = 0.05. So, it can be concluded that giving quizzes at the beginning of the meeting in the discovery learning model influencing the study result of class XI MIA students in SMA Negeri 10 Luwu on the subject matter of the buffer solution.
