Abstract: One of the most well-known diseases in any of the scriptures is that of men. It can be said that there is no book on this issue that does not address the problem of this type of disease as most traditional practitioners are male. Therefore, men's disease is a priority and an important part of most Kitab Tib. In this paper we will discuss various men's diseases that are found in most tib books as well as the treatment methods and prohibitions that a patient should follow. In this study several books of tib are used, including the Tibetan Collection of the University of Malaya with MSS254 and MSS172, the National Library of Malaysia collection number MSS2219. Two books from Pontianak and also from Odor, Buton are also used in this research data. The selection of these manuscripts is a comparison to look at the similarities and differences between traditional medicine practitioners in dealing with men's disease. An analysis of the names of the diseases, the methods of treatment used and also the taboos found in these books of tib will be described in this paper. --- Abstrak: Salah satu daripada keuzuran atau penyakit yang popular dan banyak terdapat dalam mana-mana kitab tib ialah penyakit golongan lelaki. The results of this study will be used as a first step in the improvement of transportation facilities in the area around the Tegal Boto campus, Universitas Jember. Analysis of the factors that influence students in choosing the mode of transportation will be carried out in this study. In addition, the priority of choosing the mode of transportation used by students to the Tegal Boto campus, Jember University will also be known. Research data will be obtained from questionnaires and documents from the University of Jember. The data will be analyzed using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The results of the AHP analysis show that the factors that dominate the choice of student transportation modes to the Tegal Boto campus, Jember University are the time factor (33%). Meanwhile, the student's priority modes of transportation are motorbikes (32.7%). The choice of motorcycle mode has the largest percentage due to it is based on consideration of the time factor. In June 2019, the University of Aveiro (UA), through the Library, Document Management and Museology Services and the Information Technology and Communication Services, in collaboration with the Research Support Office, took the first steps regarding the creation of the University of Aveiro Research Data Repository - DUnAs. The project aims to implement an open repository for the archive and publication of research data, promoting its visibility, impact and reproducibility. This work intends to highlight the strategy adopted while setting up the repository based on Dataverse, an open source platform, and the respective helpdesk service, addressing the initiatives and the phases for its implementation. The results obtained in the analysis of the Dataverse platform and the contact with researchers through the selection of pilot projects led to the definition of the deposit – curation – publication workflow and allowed the creation of a service adapted to the community.

The article discusses the representation of all groups of Karelians (Karelians, Livvik and Ludik Karelians) on the causes and ways of treatment of toothache (rational and irrational). The study used comparative-historical and comparative-comparative methods. The research involved the works of Russian and Finnish researchers who address various aspects of Karelian traditional medicine. In addition, the author used field materials collected in the Olonetsky and Pryazha districts of the Republic of Karelia. The Karelians noticed one of the causes of toothache, which was the result of a cold, a natural cause. However, since even after the conversion to Christianity the Karelians remained the beliefs of pagan origin, and in the toothache (as a symptom) was viewed from mythological view. The Karelians looked at a toothache as a serious, painful disease. In order to prevent its occurrence, the Karelians used salt and performed ritual preventive actions. As well as the causes of toothache, treatments could be rational and irrational. From the rational treatment methods, Karelians practiced warming and compresses, made tincture and ointments from medicinal herbs. Bleeding was considered effective for relieving toothache. Irrational methods of treatment included sorcery. This can be seen in all Karelian groups.

This article gives insight in a running dissertation at the University in Potsdam. Point of discussion is the spatial and temporal distribution of emergencies of German fire brigades that have not sufficiently been scientifically examined. The challenge is seen in Big Data: enormous amounts of data that exist now (or can be collected in the future) and whose variables are linked to one another. These analyses and visualizations can form a basis for strategic, operational and tactical planning, as well as prevention measures. The user-centered (geo-) visualization of fire brigade data accessible to the general public is a scientific contribution to the research topic 'geovisual analytics and geographical profiling'. It may supplement antiquated methods such as the so-called pinmaps as well as the areas of engagement that are freehand constructions in GIS. Considering police work, there are already numerous scientific projects, publications, and software solutions designed to meet the specific requirements of Crime Analysis and Crime Mapping. By adapting and extending these methods and techniques, civil security research can be tailored to the needs of fire departments. In this paper, a selection of appropriate visualization methods will be presented and discussed.

AbstractThis thematic issue of Itinerario brings together a selection of papers presented at the international conference Beyond the Islamicate Chancery: Archives, Paperwork, and Textual Encounters across Eurasia, which was held at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna in early October 2018. The conference was the third instalment in a series of collaborations between the Institute of Iranian Studies at the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the University of Pittsburgh examining Islamicate cultures of documentation from different angles. Surviving precolonial and colonial chancery archives across Eurasia provide an unparalleled glimpse into the inner workings of connectivity across writing cultures and, especially, documentary practices. This particular meeting has attempted to situate what has traditionally been a highly technical discipline in a broader historical dialogue on the relationship between state power, the archive, and cultural encounters.

ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping early-career researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Fanny Jaudon and Martina Albini are co-first authors on ‘ A developmental stage- and Kidins220-dependent switch in astrocyte responsiveness to brain-derived neurotrophic factor’, published in JCS. Fanny is a postdoc at the University of Trieste in the lab of Lorenzo A. Cingolani at Center for Synaptic Neuroscience and Technology, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Genova, Italy, investigating the molecular mechanisms controlling development and function of neuronal circuits and implementing genome-editing approaches for the treatment of neurological disorders. Martina is a PhD student at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia in the lab of Fabio Benfenati and Fabrizia Cesca investigating neurotrophin biology and its involvement in neurological diseases.
