Some peculiarities of agricultural lands monitoring using various types of aerospace images are reflected in the paper. It is noted that radar, multispectral data of high and medium spatial resolution, as well as materials from unmanned aerial vehicles recently became available. In this regard, the range of tasks that can be solved by using aerospace images expanded. The main theoretical issues of combining multi-temporal images are considered. Algorithms and methods of transformation of images are discussed, as well as the results of the researches of algorithms that are used in standard software. The necessity of developing new methods aimed at comprehensive analysis of aerospace images of different types is noted. Some aspects of planning of experimental works to research the various stages of image processing technology for automated interpretation, which will improve the reliability and efficiency of agricultural lands monitoring, are considered.

Even though there are various types of cancer, this pathology as a whole is considered the principal cause of death worldwide. Lung cancer is known as a heterogeneous condition, and it is apparent that genome modification presents a significant role in the occurrence of this disorder. There are conventional procedures that can be utilized against diverse cancer types, such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy, but they are hampered by the numerous side effects. Owing to the many adverse events observed in these therapies, it is imperative to continuously develop new and improved strategies for managing individuals with cancer. Nanomedicine plays an important role in establishing new methods for detecting chromosomal rearrangements and mutations for targeted chemotherapeutics or the local delivery of drugs via different types of nano-particle carriers to the lungs or other organs or areas of interest. Because of the complex signaling pathways involved in developing different types of cancer, the need to discover new methods for prevention and detection is crucial in producing gene delivery materials that exhibit the desired roles. Scientists have confirmed that nanotechnology-based procedures are more effective than conventional chemotherapy or radiotherapy, with minor side effects. Several nanoparticles, nanomaterials, and nanosystems have been studied, including liposomes, dendrimers, polymers, micelles, inorganic nanoparticles, such as gold nanoparticles or carbon nanotubes, and even siRNA delivery systems. The cytotoxicity of such nanosystems is a debatable concern, and nanotechnology-based delivery systems must be improved to increase the bioavailability, biocompatibility, and safety profiles, since these nanosystems boast a remarkable potential in many biomedical applications, including anti-tumor activity or gene therapy. In this review, the nanosystems involved in treating lung cancer and its associated challenges are discussed.

The aim of the article is to review the ways of dictionary presentation of stable prepositional combinations and the factors essential for their lexical-grammatical status and the type of optimal lexicographic description. The object of the study is twocomponent prepositional combinations with stable meanings and the “preposition+noun” structure. The material of the article is data of different dictionaries of Russian presenting stable prepositional combinations. In the course of the study, the following questions were answered: why the definition and interpretation of the lexical-grammatical nature of stable prepositional combinations are so difficult and ambiguous; what lexicographic interpretation these units have in dictionaries of different types; what the advantages and disadvantages of different ways of dictionary interpretation of such language material are. The following methods were used: introspective (observation, generalization, classification), systematic lexicographic description according to dictionary parameters, dictionary definition analysis. The summary table of the lexicographic presentation of stable combinations allows seeing both the unresolved question of dictionary interpretation of such units and the patterns of their interpretation depending on the type of a dictionary. As a result of the analysis the following conclusions were drawn. 1) In modern Russian there is a rather large (about 2,000 units) class of language units (prepositional combinations), the lexical-grammatical status of which is not defined, and there is no term for their definition; this class is historically formed and continues to replenish. 2) The type of dictionary presentation of stable prepositional combinations is determined by the dictionary concept, grammatical and syntactic properties, presence of figurative meaning and possibility of component variation of such combinations. 3) The unresolved theoretical issues have as a result the lexicographic discrepancy in the presentation of these language units. Extreme lexicographic solutions are a separate dictionary entry for each combination and the presentation of such units only as stable combinations in the entry of a noun (presented in academic explanatory dictionaries). 4) Taking into account only the factor of presence/absence of a gap seems to formalize the dictionary presentation of adverbs with both conjoined and split spelling, really existing in Russian, and the position of recognition of these units with independent words and their isolate presentation is not impeccable for dictionary users. 5) In the author’s opinion, the presentation of stable prepositional combinations exclusively as independent vocabules is inferior to the traditional lexicographic approach because the isolated presentation of this material breaks the semantic connections of these complex lexical units; the most complex issue is the differentiation of adverbs with split spelling and stable combinations.

Impact characteristics of Epoxy matrix composites is investigated by impact machine. Four different types of reinforcement are used in the experimental works: type one: 1.9wt% steel fiber, 1.9wt% carbon fiber,1.9 wt% carbon nanotube, 1.9 wt% woven carbon fiber.This work shows that reinforcing epoxy with (1.9 wt% of woven carbon fiber) improves the impact properties where energy, force and deformation values of impact test for this composite were 18.4J, 3580.59 N and 18 mm respectively while for epoxy were 2.927 J, 921.849 N and 18.413 mm respectively.

SUMMARYDeveloping 6-DOF isotropic manipulators using isotropic generators is simple and efficient, and isotropic generators can be employed to develop serial, redundant, or parallel isotropic manipulators. An isotropic generator consists of a reference point and six straight lines. The existing generators, however, have one common geometric constraint: the reference point is equidistant from the six straight lines. Some practical isotropic designs might not be obtained due to this constraint. This paper proposes methods for developing new isotropic generators. The generators thus developed are not subject to the constraint, and the new methods allow us to specify the location of the tool center point, the size of the platform or the base, or the shape of isotropic parallel manipulators. Many new generators are presented to develop 6-DOF parallel manipulators with different shapes or different types of kinematic chains.

This article presents a review of the latest procedures for identifying metaphor in multilingual texts and different types of discourse. The choice of methods for identifying and decoding metaphorical expressions is the starting point of any research in the field of metaphorology. With the development of corpus linguistics methods, the volume of analyzed material has grown thousands of times. So, the identification of linguistic expressions in discourse that realize conceptual metaphors has become one of the most challenging issues of modern metaphorology. The paper describes theoretical foundations and historical background for the solution of this issue. It is shown that it is impossible to verify this or that method without a large-scale approbation; in this connection, the developments of research groups (PALASIGMET, PRAGGLEJAZ) proved to be the most perspective. The MIP (metaphor identification procedure) was finalized in the metaphor laboratory of the Free University of Amsterdam with the name MIPVU. This methodology was a great success all over the world, however, in Russia only a few articles of introductory character have appeared. This article summarizes the experience of applying the procedures of metaphor identification in different languages and types of discourse.

AbstractThis special issue brings together research that reflects on the status and role of different types of language attitudes, and the methods required to study them. Many linguists distinguish between explicit and implicit attitudes towards language, but more often than not it remains unclear how these constructs are defined, and what their potential significance is for the study of language variation and change. The contributions to this issue address this question by critically reflecting on theory and methodology, by highlighting (and clarifying) the terminological confusion, and by showcasing new methods and tools. It is hoped that this special issue can inspire theoretical and methodological convergence in a notoriously fragmented field, so that attitude researchers can identify the underlying structure of language attitudes, and the theoretical significance of language evaluation to processes of language variation and change.

New methods for water treatment are required as a result from an increasing awareness in the reduction of the pollution impact in the environment. In the perspective of the photo-oxidation of organic pollutants present in water, the principal incentive for the preparation of heterogeneous photocatalysts is their easy recovery from the reaction mixture, which allows their reuse in successive runs, minimizing the loss of their original photocatalytic properties. Different types of supports can be used in the immobilization of photoactive species, such as porphyrins (Pors) and phthalocyanines (Pcs). This mini-review will consider the different methodologies for the immobilization of Pors and Pcs and their photocatalytic performance in the photodegradation of organic pollutants in water, addressing also their recycling ability in successive water treatments.

With the development of genomic techniques, the demand for new methods that can handle high-throughput genome-wide data effectively is becoming stronger than ever before. Compressed sensing (CS) is an emerging approach in statistics and signal processing. With the CS theory, a signal can be uniquely reconstructed or approximated from its sparse representations, which can therefore better distinguish different types of signals. However, the application of CS approach to genome-wide data analysis has been rarely investigated. We propose a novel CS-based approach for genomic data classification and test its performance in the subtyping of leukemia through gene expression analysis. The detection of subtypes of cancers such as leukemia according to different genetic markups is significant, which holds promise for the individualization of therapies and improvement of treatments. In our work, four statistical features were employed to select significant genes for the classification. With our selected genes out of 7,129 ones, the proposed CS method achieved a classification accuracy of 97.4% when evaluated with the cross validation and 94.3% when evaluated with another independent data set. The robustness of the method to noise was also tested, giving good performance. Therefore, this work demonstrates that the CS method can effectively detect subtypes of leukemia, implying improved accuracy of diagnosis of leukemia.
