The COVID-19 pandemic generated a new scenario in education, where technological resources mediate teaching and learning processes. This paper presents the development of a virtual teacher training experience aimed at promoting inferential reasoning in practicing and prospective mathematics teachers using inference problems on the Chi-square statistic. The objective of this article is to assess the implemented or intended institutional meanings and the degree of availability and adequacy of the material and temporal resources necessary for the development of the training experience. For this purpose, we use theoretical and methodological notions introduced by the Ontosemiotic Approach to Mathematical Knowledge and Instruction (OSA), among which are the notions of practice and suitability criteria. The participants of this experience were divided into three groups; one of them was comprised of practicing teachers and the other two of prospective teachers. The intervention used different virtual modalities that enabled the development of the participants’ inferential reasoning in a similar way.

AbstractThis study concerns a professional development course designed and implemented for prospective teachers, centred on a teaching method regarding problem-solving activity, namely, the Thinking Classroom. The study is framed in the theory of cultural transposition, a perspective about the encounter with teaching practices from different cultural/school contexts. Cultural aspects are considered crucial and this encounter between cultures is seen as an opportunity for actors to become aware of their own unthoughts, i.e., some of the ‘invisible’ cultural beliefs about teaching and learning absorbed by their own culture. According to this framework, we present the results from a questionnaire given to all the participants, and two case studies of prospective teachers involved in the professional development, in order to discuss the kind of unthoughts on which they have focused in thinking about this training experience.

<p>This study aimed to evaluate the achievements of the Urban Life Skills Education program by course institutions bridal makeup and analyze the factors that affect achievement Urban Life Skills Education program by institutions bridal makeup courses in South Tangerang city administration. Quantitative research approach is by using chi-square method. Results showed successful achievement by demonstrating the value of 95% for South Tangerang City. While the success of Makeup Bridal based Graduates Competency Standards reached 73.3% Factors that affect the achievement of program Life Skills Education Urban by course institutions bridal makeup in South Tangerang City among others Competency Standards Graduates Makeup Bride Junior and teaching and learning Non-formal Education by Life Skills Education that includes: theory, practice and education of character.</p>

This study investigated on classroom attentiveness of children from home with inter parental violence in Chamwino, Dodoma, Tanzania. The study employed the cross-sectional survey design whereby 312 out of 652 children from five secondary schools were randomly selected to participate by filling the questionnaire. Chi square test was employed to determine the relationship between violence against mothers and children’s attentiveness at the 0.05 level of significance. The results indicated a significant relationship between parental conflicts and lack of pupils’ adequate concentration in learning. The findings further showed that female children whose mothers are accustomed to violence are more inattentive than male children during the teaching and learning processes. The study recommends that effective intervention strategies such as developing training through psycho education within families, schools and the community be in place.

Mengapa pembelajaran kontekstual dapat mengembangkan kemapuan penalaran statistis siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama? Kemampuan penalaran statistis sangat penting dimiliki oleh siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama, karena dengan kemampuan penalaranr statistis ini siswa dapat memiliki kompetensi dalam hal: 1) memahami informasi-informasi statistis yang tersurat maupun yang tersirat pada setiap permasalahan yang dihadapi. 2) Pemahaman yang baik terhadap bagaimana cara memilih, menyajikan, mererduksi, dan mempresentasikan data yang akan digunakan untuk menjawab permasalahan yang ada. 3) pemahaman dan penalaran yang baik terhadap proses statistis secara keseluruhan termasuk setiap perhitungan yang terlibat dalam proses tersebut. 4) pemahaman untuk memecahkan masalah secara statistis berdasarkan data yang ada, dan menginterprestasikannya dalam pengambilan keputusan yang dapat berlaku secara umum. Oleh karena itu untuk mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran statistis tersebut harus mempertimbangkan pendekatan pembelajaran yang digunakan untuk siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Model pendekatan pembelajaran yang sesuai untuk siswa Sekolah Pertama salah satunya adalah pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual (Contextual Teaching and Learning). Pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual ini mengambil permasalahan-permasalahan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari atau permasalahan yang disimulasikan dengan dialog, diskusi,, tanya jawab, dan representasi. Aktivitas pengajaran kontekstual yang dikembangkan adalah: a) belajar berbasis masalah, b) belajar dengan multi konteks, c) belajar mandiri, d) penilaian otentik, dan e) masyarakat belajar.This article presents a contextual learning what it is and what are its characteristics? What is the statistical reasoning skills? Why contextual learning can develop statistical reasoning Traffic junior secondary students? Reasoning ability is very important statistical owned by junior high school students, because of the ability of these statistical penalaranr students may have competence in terms of: 1) understand the statistical information expressed or implied in any problems faced. 2) A good understanding of how to choose, present, mererduksi, and present data that will be used to address existing problems. 3) understanding and reasoning that both the statistical process as a whole including any calculations involved in the process. 4) understanding to solve the problem of statistically based on existing data, and interpret it in decision-making that can be applied generally. Therefore, to develop the statistical reasoning skills should consider learning approach used for junior secondary students. Model learning approach that is appropriate for school students first one of which is a contextual learning approach (Contextual Teaching and Learning). This contextual learning approach to take problems in daily life or simulated problems with dialogue, discussion ,, question and answer, and representation. Contextual teaching activities developed are: a) problem-based learning, b) learning with multi context, c) self-learning, d) authentic assessment, and e) a learning society.

Learning media is one of the things that can help the process of learning activities, but the media can also be a tool that does not support the smooth learning process, internet-based learning media is one of the infrastructures that can be used especially with today's era where everything is very easy to access. especially internet-based media which at this time have been widely used as learning materials or media that can support teaching skills for teachers or prospective teachers during the current COVID-19 pandemic, where teachers are required to be as creative as possible in providing media that will be used in teaching and learning activities. learning activities, the purpose of this research is to find out from the implementation of learning media in learning skills for students who are taking courses in Media and Learning Technology in which students especially prospective teachers must be able to adapt to the times with developments and technology. The research method used is descriptive qualitative media, where this method is to determine the extent of student knowledge in implementing a learning media on teaching skills, for the presence of researchers in this study is as an observer who designs learning activities or actions taken together with the team. The research model is a member of the research team, namely the lecturer of Islamic Religious Education. The research was carried out at the State University of Jakarta during the even semester lectures for the 2020/2021 academic year from March to July 2021. The subjects of this research were students in the PAI study program. The focus of this research is to find out the implementation of the usefulness of learning media during the covid-19 pandemic in teaching skills.

Technology can be a powerful tool for transforming learning. To be a successful teacher one should be learner always and should have the mind to comprehend and design new methodologies in their transaction process. ELearning courseware is an effective model of teaching and learning framework that can enhance academic achievement of students. In this research, E-Learning courseware is developed for B.Ed curriculum and the effectiveness of E-Learning courseware is studied on academic achievement of Prospective teachers studying B.Ed course. 80 students studying B.Ed. course are selected as sample by convenient sampling method. 40 of which are assigned in the experimental group and 40 in the control group. Experimental Group is subjected to E-Learning courseware and the Control group is subjected to Conventional method of teaching, Pre-test – Post Test non-equivalent groups design is used for the study. Achievement test developed and validated by the researcher is administered to measure the academic achievement of the prospective teachers as pre-test and post-test. Effectiveness of E-Learning courseware is studied on academic achievement of Prospective teachers studying B.Ed course. In the analysis of data, t-test and descriptive analysis were used. Results showed that there is significant effect of ELearning courseware in enhancing the academic achievement of Prospective Teachers. This research opens new avenues in teaching learning process which can empower students.

<div><p><em>Micro teaching is a method that has been used since 1960s in teaching and learning environments to enhance prospective teacher’ instructional experiences. Microteaching is a remarkable technique that is used in teacher education programs to offer valuable opportunities for trainee teachers to develop effective teaching strategies. The main purpose of this paper is to examine the experiences, competencies, and perceptions of 100 pre-service teacher trainees from the Kiswahili language Education program in the school of education, University of Eldoret Kenya. A combinations of quantitative and qualitative techniques were used and a questionnaire and focus group interview were used to collect data from the respondents. The findings indicate that prospective teachers gained a variety of experiences and competencies from micro teaching and that majority of them have positive attitudes toward micro teaching as a training technique. </em></p></div>

This study aims to find out what is the importance of studying administration and supervision of education for prospective teachers. This study uses a qualitative approach with qualitative descriptive methods. The subjects of this study consisted of principals, boards of teachers and staff. Data collection consists of observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques include editing, categories, displaying data and interpretation. Conclusions in this study namely the importance of studying education administration is that we can know that the administration is an educational institution which is a major source of management in regulating the teaching and learning process in an orderly manner so that the most important goal is created at the educational institution.A profession is a position or job that demands expertise from its members. That is, it cannot be done by anyone who is not trained and is not specifically prepared to do the work. Education personnel are members of the community who are devoted and appointed to support the implementation of education. Included in the education staff are: heads of education units, educators and other education personnel.

Background/Context This study seeks insights into teachers’ experiences implementing Garden-Based Learning (GBL) in an elementary school. The breadth of studies supporting the use of GBL in K–8 schools in the United States alongside the paucity of studies specific to teachers’ experiences implementing GBL highlights the importance of this work. Purpose Our study uses Remillard's framework for characterizing and studying teachers’ interactions with curriculum materials specifically in the context of GBL. We believe that exploring the dynamic relationship between teachers and a GBL curriculum may help those involved in supporting teachers in implementing GBL to gain a deeper understanding of the complexity of the teacher/GBL curriculum relationship. This research examined teachers’ GBL implementation experiences in order to answer the following research question: How do we describe and characterize teachers’ interactions with GBL curriculum materials? Research Design Twenty teachers employed from one elementary school were interviewed using a semistructured task-based protocol resulting in a teacher-created diagram of supports and challenges he/she encountered while implementing GBL over the past year. The diagram was used as a tool to stimulate and access teachers’ thinking about these supports and challenges in order to provide insight into the teacher and curricular resources at play when implementing GBL. Findings/Results Using a grounded theory analysis of each participant's diagram, we characterized each teacher's participatory relationship with GBL. We found 13% of supports and challenges elicited from all teachers had a teaching and learning focus. On an individual level, supports and challenges had a substantial teaching and learning focus for only two teachers. Thirteen teachers were characterized as having a pragmatic focus. Of the seven teachers characterized to have an experiential focus: supports and challenges focused more so on what students were doing for four teachers and more so on what teachers were doing for three teachers. Conclusions/Recommendations We used Remillard's framework to investigate and characterize the participatory relationship between teachers and the GBL curriculum. The resulting characterizations provide insight for supporting GBL teacher learning contexts and will help guide future research. Based on this study, it is critical that individuals involved in educational change continue trying to understand and develop spaces for teacher learning. These spaces should move beyond traditional professional development focused on teacher participation toward experiences focused on teacher learning within and across their teaching contexts.

This paper explores the potential of dynamic statistics software for supporting the early teaching and learning of statistical and probabilistic concepts integrated within the mathematics curriculum. It shares the experiences from a case study that implemented a data-driven approach to mathematics instruction using the dynamic data-visualization software InspireData©, an educational package specifically designed to meet the learning needs of students in the middle and high school grades (Grades 4-12). The authors report on how a group of fourteen (n=14) Grade 4 (about 9-year-old) students used the affordances provided by the dynamic learning environment to gather, analyze, and interpret data, and to draw data-based conclusions and inferences. Findings from the study support the view that mathematics instruction can promote the development of learners' statistical reasoning at an early age, through an informal, data-based approach. They also suggest that the use of dynamic statistics software has the potential to enhance statistics instruction by scaffolding and extending young students' stochastical and mathematical reasoning.
