This study aimed to examine the psychological effects of forest activities in a campus forest. A pre-test and post-test control group design was employed to evaluate the psychological effect of forest activities in a campus forest. A total of 38 participants participated in this study (19 in the forest activities group; 19 in the control group). The Profile of Mood State (POMS) questionnaire, the Concise Measure of Subjective Well-Being (COMOSWB), and the modified form of the Stress Response Inventory (SRI-MF) were administered to each participant to assess psychological effects. This study revealed that participants in the forest activities intervention group had significantly positive increases in their mood, stress response, and subjective well-being, comparing with those of control group participants who did not partake in any forest activities. In conclusion, the implementation of forest activities in a campus forest is an efficient strategy to provide psychological well-being benefits to college students.

A total of 38 participants participated in this study (19 in the campus forest therapy program group, and 19 in control). Abstract Background Whole-body electromyostimulation (WB-EMS) training is used in popular and health sports to improve muscular performance. Little is known about the possible psychological effects of WB-EMS training. The aim of the study is therefore to investigate the possible psychological effects of WB-EMS training on subjective well-being, relaxation, mood, and perceived stress. Materials and Methods Twenty-five healthy subjects underwent conventional WB-EMS training and Sham training (without the application of electrical stimulation) as part of a randomized, controlled pilot study in a crossover design. Subjective well-being and subjective relaxation were assessed using visual analog scales, the current state of mood was assessed with Multidimensional Mood State Questionnaires (MDBF), and the current level of stress was assessed with Recovery–Stress Questionnaires/Erholungs-Belastungs-Fragebögen (RESTQEBF) before and after training. Results WB-EMS training has a statistically significant positive effect on subjective well-being and subjective relaxation, as well as on the awake subscale of the MDBF. No significant main effect of sequence and no interaction effects were found. Also, compared to a Sham training session, a single WB-EMS training session had no significant effect on mood, nervousness, or the current level of stress. Conclusion Besides physiological effects, WB-EMS might also have a strong psychological impact. WB-EMS could be beneficial for people who, due to their limitations, have problems training on a regular basis and with adequate training intensity. Objective: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on teachers professional and personal lives. Our primary aim was to assess the effect of a blended Inquiry-Based Stress Reduction (IBSR), an emerging mindfulness and cognitive reframing intervention on teacher’s well-being. Our secondary aims were to assess the effect of IBSR on resilience, burnout, mindfulness, and stress among teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The study was a prospective controlled trial with an intervention group (N = 35) and a comparison control group (N = 32). The intervention took place in the Jerusalem District throughout the school year from November 2019 to May 2020. The sessions were conducted in blended learning that included traditional learning (face-to-face) and online learning. Data was analyzed on an intention-to-treat basis. Results: IBSR blended intervention enhanced the resilience and improved the subjective and psychological well-being of teachers in spite of the breakout of the COVID-19 pandemic and the first lockdown in Israel. Simultaneously the control group suffered from enhanced burnout levels and a decline in psychological and subjective well-being. Conclusions: Implementation of IBSR blended intervention during the school year may benefit teachers’ well-being and ability to flourish, even during stressful events such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

Introduction: Menstrual pain or dysmenorrhea is a common problem that is often complained of by women during menstruation. Menstrual pain can interfere learning activities, especially final year students in completing their thesis. The purpose of this study were to analyze the effect of endorphin massage on menstrual pain in final year nursing students of UNUSA. Method: This study using an experimental with pre-test and post-test control group design. Research subjects of this study was recruited using simple random sampling who was included inclusion and exclusion criteria. Research subjects in this study was of 46 students who were then divided into two groups, 23 students into intervention group and 23 students into control group. Data were collected by using observation with VAS. Data were analyzed by using Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney U test. Result and Analysis: The results showed that: 1) There was difference VAS score between pre test and post test in intervention group (p= 0,000), 2) There was difference VAS score between intervention and control group (p= 0,017). Conclusion: Endorphin massage could reduce menstrual pain in final year nursing student of UNUSA. To investigate the impact of writing a gratitude letter on particular mood states, we asked students in two university classes (a research class and a positive psychology class) to complete a 15-item mood assessment survey (MAS) twice a day (once in the morning and once at night). The research students who signed up for one or two pass/fail field-study credits in a research class also completed the MAS twice a day, but they did not write the weekly gratitude letter that was expected from the students in the positive psychology class. Each mood state was averaged per each day for the participants in each group and compared between the Gratitude Group and the Control Group. No group difference occurred for some mood states like “incompetent,” but for the “unmotivated” mood state, a significant difference was found. To investigate the potential effect of weekday, we compared the average mood rating between groups for each day of the week. For the mood state of “unmotivated”, a remarkable dip occurred on Wednesday for the Gratitude group, but not for the Control group. These results indicated that writing a gratitude letter increased the benefactor’s motivation, especially on the day when it was accomplished.

Penyakit gagal ginjal kronis atau disingkat GGK, saat ini diakui sebagai prioritas kesehatan masyarakat di seluruh dunia. Pasien GGK akan mengalami  gangguan fisik dan psikologis sehingga mempengaruhi kualitas hidupnya. Teknik konservasi energi dengan pemberdayaan diri dapat diberikan pada pasien GGK dengan tujuan dapat meningkatkan energi, mengurangi fatigue dan kualitas hidup dapat meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan teknik konservasi energi dengan pemberdayaan diri terhadap kualitas hidup pasien gagal ginjal kronik.Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah teknik konservasi energydengan pemberdayaan diridapat meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien GGK.   Responden penelitian ini berjumlah 47 orang untuk kelompok intervensi dan untuk kelompok kontrol 47 orang responden. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metoda kuasi eksperimental dengan pendekatan pre test – post test control group design. Hasil uji statistik didapatkan nilai p value 0,000 maka dapat disimpulkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara  kualitas hidup  kelompok kontrol dengankualitas hidup kelompok intervensi setelah dilakukan penerapan teknik konservasi energy. GGK patients will experience physical and psychological disorders that affect their quality of life. Energy conservation techniques with self-empowerment can be given to CRF patients with the aim of increasing energy, reducing fatigue and quality of life can be increased. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of energy conservation techniques with self-empowerment to the quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure. The hypothesis of this study is conservation techniques of energy with empowerment can improve the quality of life of patients with CRF. The respondents of this study were 47 people for the intervention group and for the control group 47 respondents. This research is a quantitative research using a quasi-experimental method with a pre test - post test control group design approach. The statistical test results obtained p value 0,000, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the quality of life of the control group and the quality of life of the intervention group after the application of energy conservation techniques. A preliminary study of students of a psychology faculty, revealed the fact that there are some students with low life satisfaction and negative affect during their college life. Low subjective well-being (SWB) was associated with decreased productivity and cognitive flexibility, which are important elements for studying. Previous researchers found a significant correlation between gratitude and SWB. The aim of this study is to enhance student SWB through an intervention of gratitude letter. We use two stages in this study: first a descriptive method (N = 282) to have an accurate description of the level of their SWB. Then, we select 60 students with the lowest SWB to participate in the next stage, a quasi-experimental method with multiple group design, consisting of two experimental group and one control group. Measurements were conducted with modified SLS, SPANE, and GQ6. Data a-nalysis revealed significant differences in gratitude and positive affect level that are differrent in each group. Significant improvement in gratitude and subjective well-being based on the pre-test, post-test 1, post-test 2 were only found in the group that writes and expresses the gratitude letter.

This study investigates the effects of psychodrama on adults’ anxiety and subjective well-being levels. A pre/post-test experimental pattern is used with experimental and control groups. The study sample consists of 24 non-thesis master’s program students at Gaziantep University, Human Psychology, and Communication. The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and the Subjective Well-Being Scale were applied as a pre-test to the experimental and control groups. The psychodrama group practice was performed with the experimental group once a week for eleven weeks, 90 minutes per session, while the control group did not receive any practice. After the application, the post-test was administered to both groups. The data were analyzed with SPSS 23 statistical program. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to evaluate the difference between the experimental and control group, and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was applied for the changes within the experimental group. The findings indicate that the individuals’ anxiety level in the experimental group significantly decreased compared to the control group. There was no significant difference between subjective well-being in the experimental and control group for pre-test and post-test applications.

Background: The physician who reflects critically will interpret the experience, aware of its limitations, and will become life long learner. When implementing reflection learning in medical education, it is necessary to assess the ability of learners to help improve the ability of reflection. The objective of the research is to know the students 'reflection ability by giving feedback and different of reflection ability between intervention group and control group.Method: Research using pre and post control group design. The subjects of the study were 62 students medical students of Faculty of Medicine UGM year II who had collected narrative reflection to Gamel (n = 176 students) and willing to participate, divided into 2 groups with simple random sampling. Intervention of treatment group are giving feedback based on the result of narrative reflection from Gamel followed by narrative reflection assignment. The subjects' narrative reflection was assessed using the REFLECT rubric, and analyzed by Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests.Results: The results showed that students' pre and post test reflection ability is in the reflection stage. Giving feedback once does not increase the ability from  reflection stage to the critical reflection stage. This result may be due to several things: critical reflection does not occur without significant / dramatic experience that shifts perspective resulting in transformative learning, feedback is given regularly, lack of trustworhty to instructors who are not university lecturers. Another result of a decrease in the ability of reflection in general after 6 months indicates the need to do reflection activity / assignment in each semester to maintain and improve the ability of reflection. Conclusion: Increased reflection ability from reflection stage to critical reflection stage does not occur with single feedback. If reflection is not done regularly, it can cause a decrease in reflection ability.

ABSTRACT Background: Children who are first hospitalized may experience higher anxiety levels than children who have been hospitalized. The preliminary study in 2018 showed that when general surgery was to be done, as many as 90%school-age children were scared and nervous. It is important to provide play therapy to children who are going to undergo surgery. In addition to reading and seeing through photos, pop-up toy story books will also be offered to school-age children. This study aimed to examine the relationship between pop up toys as story play therapy on the level of anxiety on general anesthesia surgery among children around 6-12 years old. Subjects and Method: This was an experimental study with pre-post test with control group design. This study was conducted in Yogyakarta Province hospital. Study subjects were children around 6-12 years old and will performed general anesthesia surgery. The data were collected using questioner and in-depth interview. The data were analyzed using Mann-Whitney test. Results: There was a decrease number of children with moderate level of anxiety after the intervention group using pop up toys as story play therapy from 30 children (81.1%) to 6 children (16.2%). While in the control group, a total of 25 children had moderate level of anxiety (87.6%) before the theraphy, and after therapy a total of 2 children also had moderate level of anxiety (5.4%), and they were statistically significant. Conclusion: Playing pop up toys story therapy has an effect on the level of anxiety among children around 6-12 years old and will performed general anesthesia surgery.
