In order to ensure the safety of shore-based hydrogen bunkering operations, this paper takes a 2000-ton bulk hydrogen powered ship as an example. Firstly, the HAZID method is used to identify the hazards of hydrogen bunkering, then the probability of each scenario is analyzed, and then the consequences of scenarios with high risk based on FLACS software is simulated. Finally, the personal risk of bunkering operation is evaluated and the bunkering restriction area is defined. The results show that the personal risk of shore-based bunkering operation of hydrogen powered ship is acceptable, but the following risk control measures should be taken: (1) The bunkering restriction area shall be delineated, and only the necessary operators are allowed to enter the area and control the any form of potential ignition source; (2) The hose is the high risk hazards during bunkering. The design form of bunkering arm and bunkering hose is considered to shorten the length of the hose as far as possible; (3) A safe distance between shore-based hydrogenation station and the building outside the station should be guaranteed. The results have a guiding role in effectively reducing the risk of hydrogen bunkering operation.

Workplaces are high-risk environments for SARS-CoV-2 outbreaks and subsequent community transmission. Identifying, understanding, and implementing effective workplace SARS-CoV-2 infection prevention and control (IPC) measures is critical to protect workers, their families, and communities. A rapid review and meta-analysis were conducted to synthesize evidence assessing the effectiveness of COVID-19 IPC measures implemented in global workplace settings through April 2021. Medline, Embase, PubMed, and Cochrane Library were searched for studies that quantitatively assessed the effectiveness of workplace COVID-19 IPC measures. Included studies comprised varying empirical designs and occupational settings. Measures of interest included surveillance measures, outbreak investigations, personal protective equipment (PPE), changes in work arrangements, and worker education. Sixty-three studies from international healthcare, nursing home, meatpacking, manufacturing, and office settings were included, accounting for ~280,000 employees. Meta-analyses showed that combined measures (0.2% positivity; 95%CI 0-0.4%) were associated with lower post-intervention employee COVID-19 positivity estimates than single measures like asymptomatic PCR testing (1.7%; 95%CI 0.9-2.9%) and universal masking (24%; 95%CI 3.4-55.5%). Modelling studies showed that combinations of (i) timely and widespread contact tracing and case isolation, (ii) facilitating smaller worker cohorts, and (iii) effective use of PPE can reduce workplace transmission. Comprehensive COVID-19 IPC measures incorporating swift contact tracing and case isolation, PPE, and facility zoning, can effectively prevent workplace outbreaks. Masking alone should not be considered as sufficient protection from SARS-CoV-2 outbreaks in workplace environments at high risk of virus transmission.

The progress of formal industry is accompanied by the use of technology used in the production process that has a risk of harm to aspects of occupational safety and health as well as the work environment. Therefore, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) which is one of the risk management that needs to be applied to determine the risks of hazards in the work environment so that appropriate control measures can be taken. This research is a qualitative research that aims to explore a problem with detailed limitations, as well as in-depth data collection. The number of informants in this study were 7 people. Data collection was carried out using work safety job analysis worksheets and in-depth interviews equipped with voice recording devices for 7 informants. The results of research carried out there are potential dangers that still need attention and control. From several stages of the production process that is usually done at PT. Jakarana Tama Medan Branch the process of conveying and mixing, continuous rolling, steaming, cutting, friying michine, cooling, and packing. The risks of accidents and occupational diseases that occur to workers are divided into two parts, including physical and psychological. Physical risks include falling, slipping, being shocked, pinched, burns, hearing loss, respiratory distress, complaints of muscle aches. and psychological risks in the form of work stress or discomfort. Factors causing it can occur due to unsafe actions and unsafe conditions. The advice that can be given is that supervision of the work process must be further improved so that workers do not do things that deviate from the provisions that have been applied, provide sanctions for workers who break the rules, and equip personal protective equipment in each division according to the type of work.

Work at height is a job with a high risk of accidents, such as in the formwork aluma system. Weak supervision and a lack of knowledge of the workforce on potential hazards and risk control of the formwork aluma system are some of the causes of the high incidence of work accidents in this work. This research was conducted on the formwork aluma system of the BRI Gatot Subroto tower project, South Jakarta. The goal is to determine the potential hazards and risk control of aluma system formwork. Risk analysis is carried out using the AS / NZS 4360: 2004 standard to determine the level of risk to the potential hazards of the aluma system formwork. Potential hazards in the formwork aluma system are falling, bumping, being cut, punctured and crushed, with the level of risk being at high, substantial, medium and low levels. Risk control is carried out by the control hierarchy, namely elimination, substitution, engineering, administration, and control of PPE.

As the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) spreads globally, hospital departments will need take steps to manage their treatment procedures and wards. The preparations of high-risk departments (infection, respiratory, emergency, and intensive care unit) were relatively well within this pandemic, while low-risk departments may be unprepared. The spine surgery department in The First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University in Hefei, China, was used as an example in this study. The spine surgery department took measures to manage the patients, medical staff and wards to avoid the cross-infection within hospital. During the outbreak, no patients or healthcare workers were infected, and no treatment was delayed due to these measures. The prevention and control measures effectively reduced the risk of nosocomial transmission between health workers and patients while providing optimum care. It was a feasible management approach that was applicable to most low-risk and even high-risk departments.

Purpose Early on in the COVID-19 pandemic, the scientific community highlighted a potential risk of epidemics occurring inside prisons. Consequently, specific operational guidelines were promptly released, and containment measures were quickly implemented in prisons. This paper aims to describe the spread of COVID-19 in detention facilities within the Lombardy region of Italy during March to July 2020, and the impact of the prevention and control measures implemented. Design/methodology/approach A descriptive retrospective analysis of case distribution was performed for all COVID-19 cases identified among people in detention (PiD) and prison officers (POs). A comparison of the epidemic burden affecting different populations and a correlation analysis between the number of cases that occurred and prevention measures implemented were also carried out. Findings From this study, it emerged that POs were at a high risk of contracting COVID-19. This study observed a delay in the occurrence of cases among PiD and substantial heterogeneity in the size of outbreaks across different prisons. Correlation between reported cases among PiD and registered sick leave taken by POs suggested the latter contributed to introducing the infection into prison settings. Finally, number of cases among PiD inversely correlated with the capacity of each prison to identify and set up dedicated areas for medical isolation. Originality/value Prevention and control measures when adopted in a timely manner were effective in protecting PiD. According to the findings, POs are a population at high risk for acquiring and transmitting COVID-19 and should be prioritized for testing, active case finding and vaccination. This study highlights the critical importance of including prison settings within emergency preparedness plans.
