We studied the stylistic features of autobiographical memory structure which can be significant for the understanding the sources of intrapersonal propensity for deviant behavior among young people. From the standpoint of the Vygotsky's theory we studied 102 "parent-teenager" dyads in order to examine the mechanisms of cultural determination of autobiographical memory macrostructure in context of reproducing the life scenarios. We differentiate the social influences of various levels on the formation of system characteristics of autobiographical memory, which constitute individual style of fixation personal stories of the past. We have found а stable family-reproduced indicators of autobiographical memories belonging to the "family life" scenario, these include the emotional profile of the memories of lives, the level of scenario (fixation of socially approved events); representation of memories of other people (social orientation). The low values of these indicators can be the risk factors for asocial behavior.

The research features the problem of search for modern management technologies for the development of single-industry towns. The author proposes the framework concept "Five Steps of Routine Improvement" as a tool for improving the urban environment. It establishes a differentiated approach to the selection of projects for improvement for each single-unit municipal entity. The paper gives an analysis of the sequence of actions announced within the framework of the 5 steps of the concept. The main problems are connected with the attitude of the municipal authorities and the involvement of residents in solving the problems of the urban environment. The social orientation of the steps of the concept makes it possible to solve the problem of involvement of citizens and to overcome the mentioned problems. To raise municipal management effectiveness, the author proposes to monitor infrastructure facilities to attract business and thus solve the problem of financial resources. A project approach and a complex analysis of all components of the concept can overcome all the barriers.

Power is a heavy, but great cross, which not every person is capable of carrying. It is both the right to decide the fate of the country and people, and a great responsibility. This is the choice to serve one’s people, accompanied by numerous trials and overcoming of considerable life challenges. With the words «power» or «ruler», we see the image of a person endowed with a life grasp and willpower, who always retains a fi rmness of mind and is not afraid to oppose anyone. If he is gifted with the talents of a commander, strategist, politician and diplomat, the power is often able to shift all spiritual values to the background, and to put forward material desires and the possibilities of their realization. That is why, with all the fullness of one’s power, it is important to remain a virtuous, merciful and humane person. However, history shows that even in our Orthodox land such statesmen are very rare. Alexander Nevsky is a striking example of a great, humane and just ruler. A great number of works of both church and secular nature have been written about the noble knyaz. Meanwhile, his outstanding personality will not cease to attract attention, and after hundreds of years, this topic will always be relevant to us, especially from the point of view of the social orientation of his activities.

This chapter highlights positivism and post-positivism in the social sciences. ‘Post-positivism’, much like ‘positivism’, is a notoriously imprecise term that nonetheless does significantly effective work in shaping academic controversies. Post-positivist approaches are loosely organized around a common rejection of the notion that the social sciences should take the natural sciences as their epistemic model. This rejection, which is a dissent from the naturalist position that all the sciences belong together and produce the same kind of knowledge in similar ways, often also includes a rejection of what are taken to be the central components of a natural-scientific approach: a dualist separation of knowing subjects from their objects of study, and a limitation of knowledge to the tangible and measurable. To get a handle on ‘post-positivism’, the chapter discusses these three rejections (naturalism, dualism, and empiricism) in turn.

This study examines the structure of entrepreneurial stories in pursuit of mobilizing resources from crowds. Based on a comparative analysis of Kickstarter crowdfunding campaigns, we examine in particular how, across different project types, project histories and potential futures are framed and interlinked in narratives to appeal to funders. We find that projects are narrated in different styles—as “ongoing journeys” or “results-in-progress”—to convey project value. The former style narrates projects as longer-term endeavors powered by creative initial ideas and a bold vision, inviting audiences to “join the journey”; the latter narrates projects more narrowly as a progression of accomplishments, engaging the audience instrumentally to support next steps. We find that styles are used and combined in different ways, reflecting the tangibility of project outcomes, the sophistication of technology, and the social orientation of projects. Also, successful differ from unsuccessful campaigns in using narratives more coherently. Findings inform research on narrative processes in entrepreneurship and innovation, and research on the mobilization of crowds.

University social responsibility (USR) is an important assessment criterion of the QS Stars. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the social orientation of universities as intellectual leaders in the development of society gains particular importance. The research purpose is to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the university activity directions in the framework of strategies (USR). An empirical assessment of the level and complementary factors of USR in the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) was conducted, using the method of integral and expert assessment. Grounded on scoring according to the principal component analysis, the structure of the factors of the USR development in the BRICS countries was determined. Multifactor regression modeling allowed substantiating the priority of factors stimulating the development of USR in the BRICS countries in modern conditions and arguing the main barriers to introducing the concept of social responsibility into university activities and expanding the stakeholders’ circle in it. The research results showed that the university management creativity, effective communication with the public and stakeholders, the quality of the educational process and the development of scientific activities stimulate USR development in the BRICS countries and should be used as the basis for the strategic planning of activities in the context of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. Conceptual trends in the USR development can be useful for universities in the studied countries when adapting strategic development plans regarding the social needs of modern society.
