This research is a qualitative approach to analyze the understanding of concepts in the material of integer operations. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Gorontalo involving 25 students as the object of research. This is a descriptive study with indicators used to describe students’ understanding of mathematical concepts, among others (1) Presenting a concept in various forms of mathematical representation, (2) Restating a Concept, (3) classifying objects according to certain properties (according to the concept), (4) Applying the problem-solving concept or algorithm. Furthermore, interviews were conducted to deepen information about students’ understanding of mathematical concepts. The analysis of the results showed that students’ understanding of mathematical concepts on integer operations material was classified as moderate, which was indicated by the ability of students who only met some indicators of understanding the measured mathematical concepts.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mathematical concepts of students in solving the problem of polyhedron of cubes and cuboids with assisted of Schoology media. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive approach. This study describes the ability to understand mathematical concepts that owned of students with Schoology media. Research subjects is three students selected by purposive sampling based on conditions and situations that occured during the current co-19 pandemic. The data collection used consists of tests of understanding the ability of mathematical concepts. Based on the results of research showed that the ability to understanding students' of mathematical concepts with Schoology-assisted able to provide understanding of material polyhedron of cubes and cuboids by the average results of students getting value 91,67. Where the first student is able to reach an understanding indicator of mathematical concepts from given by agreeing to the concept, classifying objects according to certain properties, giving concepts in various forms of mathematical representation, explaining the relationship between one concept with another concept, and applying the concept in problem solving . While the second and third students can only reach four indicators from the second indicator given. Nevertheless, students show positive responses to Schoology media. Keywords: Understanding Mathematical Concepts, Schoology Media

The purpose of this study was to describe how to implement the REACT strategy to develop students’ mathematical representation, reasoning, and disposition ability. This research was a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The subject of this study was grade 8 junior high school student in Bandung. Data collection techniques in this study with observations, interviews, and documentation. Based on data analysis results, it could be concluded that REACT strategies can be applied to develop a mathematical representation, reasoning, and disposition ability that engages students actively. Implementation of the REACT strategy runs smoothly and gets enthusiastic responses from students. The application of REACT strategies should be undertaken sustainably so that the learning objectives can be achieved by integrating various mathematical skills that were capable.

The ability to think creatively is a skill that is really needed by someone in solving problems, but everyone has a different creative way of thinking because everyone has various types of personality. The purpose of this study was to describe the analysis of students' creative thinking in solving contextual mathematics problems in terms of sanguine, choleric, melancholy, and phlegmatic personality types. This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. The research subjects are four students of class VII-3 SMP Negeri 1 Krembung. Each personality type is represented by one subject. The data obtained in this study are personality test results, contextual problem solving test results, and interview data. The data obtained were analyzed by describing the components of creative thinking, namely fluency, flexibility, and novelty. The research results were obtainedphlegmatic and melancholy personality types understand the problem and the information at hand, reveal what is known and asked, and can generate diverse and different ideas. Meanwhile, sanguine and choleric personality types have not been able to generate diverse and different ideas. Phlegmatic and melancholy personality types are able to fulfill fluency, flexibility, and novelty components, sanguinis personality types have not been able to fulfill fluency, flexibility, and novelty components, whereas choleric personality types are only able to fulfill fluency components.

This research is motivated by the low ability of students to understand mathematical concepts in learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine how thw mathematical ability of class XI IIS students at SMA PGRI 3 Padang. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IIS SMA PGRI 3 Padang, totalling 19 students. The research method used is descriptive method using a qualitative approach. The instrument used in this study was a test of the ability to understand concepts in the form of 4 questions in the form of descriptions and interview. The test results were analysed based on indicators of concept understanding. The results of this study indicate hat the results of data analysis on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of the 19 students tested obtained the total qualification score of 50% in the medium category. The qualifications for the total score of students mathematical concept understanding abilities based on the analysis of eachindicator on concept undestandig are as follow: on the indicator of restating a concept, 54% is in the medium category, classifying objects according to certain properties (according to the concept) is 82% are in the high category, providing examples and non-examples of the concept are 30 in the less category, presenting the concept in the form of a mathematical representation is 35% in the less category, developing necessary or sufficient requirements of a conceptis 73% in the medium category, and applying the concept or problem-solving algorithm is 24% in the lo category.

Mathematics is a fundamental human activity – a way of making sense of the world. Children possess a natural curiosity and interest in mathematics and come to school with an understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies that they have discovered through explorations of the world around them. The purpose of this study is to find out how mathematics is being taught and learnt among primary one pupils in basic schools in Ghana. A qualitative approach was employed to provide answers to the research questions raised. It was found that teachers employed variety of procedures for teaching mathematics. However, there were some problems encountered in the teaching and learning of mathematics.

This study aims to describe the symptoms of over protective foster behsvior towards the social development of children in islamic kindergartens Khaira Ummah Ikur Koto Kecamatan Koto Tangah Kota Padang. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive study methods. The researcher uses parents and teachers as informants. How to use the date used by researchers is observasi, interviews, and documentation. Based one the descriptive and data analysis, it can be concluded that the research shows that parents provide parenting patterns that tend to be over protective of their children. This is indicated by the form of protective provided by parents to their children, and does not provide an opportunity for children to be able to do it themselves. The over protective parenting has an impact on children’s social development, namely children are difficult to adapt to the new environment, prefer to play alone, and result in children not being independent.

This study aimed to identify the proportion of diversity and suitability of narrative mathematical questions with SOLO taxonomy level and mathematical power ability. The research was conducted through quantitative descriptive. Sources of data in the forms of narrations contained in mathematics textbooks. The research procedure was conducted by making the classification and determining the percentage of the narrations based on the compatibility of SOLO taxonomy and the mathematical power ability. The results showed that, the narrative mathematical questions with uni-structural level are of 7.5%, multi-structural of 33.8%, relational of 46.6% and extended abstract of 12.1 %. In terms of compatibility of the narrative  questions were able to measure 23% reasoning aspect, 18% problem solving, 8.3% connection, 28% communication and 22.6% mathematical representation. In general, mathematics textbooks as the object of research should be revised, since they have not yet achieved the ideal alignment between SOLO taxonomy based on grade level and the objective of learning develop mathematical power
