The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of graphs for assessing writing for the studenst of the second semester of economics and business faculty, Unisbank Semarang. The method of this study is a mixed method inasmuch as the data were analyzed both in quantitative and qualitative method. The participants are ten students of the second semester of economics and business faculty, Unisbank Semarang. It reveals that the use of graphs can be effective to improve writing skill. However, the biggest obstacle was found when using this kind of method. That is why it is also important to take a look at the students’ background of knowledge because each student has their own characteristics and ability.   Keywords: assessing writing, graphs, paragraph.

Regarding the importance of exploring the use of social media to enhance English skill, this study investigated the use of social media to improve English skill of EFL learners especially non-English college students. The objective of this study was to find out in what ways social media can contribute to the improvement of EFL learners’ English skill. The research method employed in this study was descriptive qualitative method. In gaining data, this study used questionnaire and observation. The results showed that almost all respondents took advantage of social media to learn English. Some social media used were YouTube, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, etc. The respondents revealed that by the use of social media, their reading skill (97.3% of the respondents), their writing skill (94.6% of the respondents), their vocabulary mastery (91.9% of the respondents), their listening skill (89.2% of the respondents), their speaking skill (86.5% of the respondents), their grammar mastery (83.8% of the respondents) could be improved. Based on the findings of the study, it can be inferred that social media can contribute to the improvement of EFL learners’ English skill in many ways including reading skill, writing skill, vocabulary mastery, listening skill, speaking skill, and grammar mastery. Keywords:  EFL Learners, English Skill, Social Media

The purpose of this study to determine the role of Transformational Leadership in increasing Job Satisfaction. The samples have been taken by random sampling technique selecting amounted to 249 samples from permanent lecturers of private Islamic High School in Jambi Province. This research uses a Sequential Explanatory Design Mixed Method that is first research using a quantitative method then deepen it with a qualitative method. This is intended to result in more in-depth and comprehensive research.The result shows that there is a positive correlation between transformational leadership which has a high effect on job satisfaction of the lecturers. The coefficient correlation is ry = 0,483 and coefficient determination ry = 0,233. It means that 65.90% of job satisfaction is influenced by transformational leadership, and the rest of it influenced by other factors.

This study aims to know that Confucian culture can improve employee performance. Empirical evidence found clarity of the phenomenon about Confucian culture that occurred in the three study companies above so that Confucian culture can increase employee performance.This dissertation is expected to contribute to the development of economics, especially human resource management that is exploring the potential of eastern culture that is simple but has a high philosophical value which later became the work ethos that can be entrenched.This research is conducted by using qualitative method, that is approach that leads to circumstances and individuals holistically with inductive pattern, that is collecting, identifying, formulating, analyzing and discussing proposition, and Conclusion and Suggestion. From the results of analysis and interpretation of findings related data this research shows that Confucian Culture Able to Improve Employee Performance and appropriately run as a work culture. It is recommended to the researcher to do research with mixed method so that it is expected to get different result and more deeply.

Youtube is one of the most famous video-sharing and social networking platforms in the world. Due to its comment section function, Youtube also plays a role in describing the perception and reaction of the general public. This study aims to examine the discourse prosody found in the adjective suki and its co-occurrences. This is a mixed-method research where corpus linguistics is used for quantitative data analysis and, discourse prosody for the qualitative method. The Youtube comments chosen are five videos from Japan’s number one Youtuber, Hajimeshachoo in January 2020. Only the first 24 hours comments were picked. The findings show that the adjective suki is the most significant na-adjective used in the Youtube comments gathered. Na-adjective mainly co-occurred with an adverb that modified the adjective suki mostly to elevate the sense of likeness, adoration, or fondness of the content and/or creator of the video. The adjective suki can have both positive and negative discourse prosody depending on its co-occurrence.

The aim of this study was to discover high school students’ general perception about the implementation of Google Classroom as an online learning media, and the factors that influenced the development of the perception. This research used Mixed-method research design as described by Creswell (2014). Subject of this study was the student population of SMAS Lab Undiksha Singaraja. The instruments used for this research were Questionnaire and Interview Guide. The instruments were tested by using Gregory Formula Method and Cronbach-Alpha method. The data that have been obtained was analyzed using quantitative and qualitative method. The result of the research showed that the students of SMAS Lab Undiksha Singaraja held a positive view on the benefits of Google Classroom and its implementation as online learning media. Factors that have influenced this perception are Google Classroom’s ubiquity, students’ familiarity with Google Classroom, Google Classroom’s ease of use and stability in comparison to other similar applications.

This research aimed to find out The Contributions of Tourism Industry toward Students’ Speaking Motivation in Learning English on Students who live around Tourism Object. The participants of this research proposal is the students who live around tourism object (case study at Kencana Beach Cottages in Labuhan Badas Sumbawa Besar). The present study used mixed method. It contain to be examined in relation to quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection and analysis. The instrument used in collecting data was questionnaire, speaking test and observation. Questionnaire and speaking test used descriptive statistics of frequencies and percentages. It was analyzed by using SPSS Program.Observation was analyzed by using qualitative method. Based on the data analysis technique above, it was found out the the contributions oftourism industry toward students’ speaking motivation in learning English and to know how the contribution of tourism industry toward students’ speaking motivation in English.

Writing is the most important skill in learning a language. Through writing is a way to express student’s ideas, but most students are still deeply mistaken in spelling, grammar, vocabulary and also punctuation. The one way to fix it is to give the students solution with a tool that can help and guide to show their mistake. This research aim of improving students writing skills using Grammarly application. By using Grammarly students are guided to find out students' errors and how to fix it and improve their writing skills using Grammarly application, especially in second grade in senior high school. This research used a qualitative method through pre-test and posttest. The subject of this research is consists of 32 students in second grade in senior high school. The research finding that’s after using Grammarly application can improve student’s ability in writing and express what their thought and felt. It suggested that students should be confident in conveying their ideas into written form as well as maximizing this Grammarly application to help them find errors in writing and can find the correct one. Needs analysis was conducted in Polytechnic of Energy and Mineral with the aim of identifying the students’ English needs. This was conducted by analysing the present English learning and teaching material and the needs of the material the students expect in order to perform effectively in the target situation. In conducting the analysis, a mixed method design was used in which it integrates the quantitative method and qualitative method. The questionnaires were used as the instruments for collecting the data from the alumni who had already worked in the petroleum industry and from the students who were still studying at Polytechnic of Energy and Mineral. The qualitative data from the alumni showed that English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills were really needed in the petroleum industry. Then, the quantitative data and the qualitative data from the students showed that the present English learning and teaching material had already guided them in obtaining the English skills required in the petroleum industry. However, the qualitative data also showed that the listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities in the material still needed to be improved in terms of the quantity, variety, and levels of difficulty. These findings were going to be followed up by the development of the English learning and teaching material as the improvement of the present material.

Arabic is generally taught in official educational institutions such as schools and institutions under the auspices of the government, the object of learning usually includes the age of school children. There is an institution called Imam Al-Bukhari, which conducts Arabic learning for adults, especially mothers. This study aims to reveal the process of learning Arabic for mothers at the Imam Al-Bukhari Islamic boarding school. This research uses the descriptive qualitative method. Because in this study, the results will be presented in the form of descriptive sentences. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation and documentation. The data analysis process goes through several stages. including data validation, presenting data, concluding. The result of this research is the method used in learning Arabic level 2 and level 3 is a mixed method. In level 2 learning it was found that mothers had mastered the material during the learning process. Likewise, mothers for level 3 have mastered the learning material provided during the learning process.

In recent decades, the use of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) has changed according to the different goalsand studies that have been applied. Therefore, it is very important to explore and examine these changes and identifythe development of use and conception of MOOCs. This research is considered empirical in nature and focuses onstudies published between 2012 and 2017. The current study is conducted on three scientific databases to collectthose studies that matched the research method and achieved its goal. Nine hundred seventy-nine studies wereconsidered, and 37 studies have been selected for this study and will be analyzed based on study design and othervariables. The collected studies utilized the qualitative method, quantitative method, and mixed-method approaches.These studies were analyzed through the use of MOOCs according to students’ views, instructors’ views, andstudents’ and instructors’ views. The results showed a different understanding of MOOCs between the students’views, instructors’ views, and students’ and instructors’ views. Recommendations and future research opportunitiesare also discussed.
