Postpartum depression is depression experienced by mothers during childbirth which begins with fatigue, rest or sleep disturbances, a feeling of not being able to take care of their babies, a feeling of excessive joy due to a baby being born and stress symptoms. One of the efforts to reduce it is educational intervention for early detection of postpartum depression (D3). This study used a Quasi Experiment with a pre and posttest approach with control group. Researchers used an untreated control group as a comparison to determine whether the differences in postpartum depression in the intervention group with the control group were caused by the treatment given D3 intervention. The population in this study were all 110 mothers who had given birth at Aminah Amin's Maternity Clinic. The sample of this study was 60 respondents respectively 30 control group respondents and 30 treatment group respondents. The results showed that there were 48.4% of mothers suffering from postpartum depression after the D3 education intervention there was a decrease in postpartum depression by 65%. The result of the Pair-Test test shows that there is a difference in postpartum depression in mothers with D3 educational interventions with mothers who are not given D3 educational interventions with a sig.0.011 (p˂0.05) value and based on the Logistic Regression Test shows there is no relationship between age and work towards depression. postpartum and there was a significant influence on maternal education (p = 0.003), maternal parity (p = 0.016) and husband support (p = 0.000) on postpartum depression. The need to increase health education for postpartum mothers and provide education on early detection of depression (D3) to husbands and families as companions for the mother during childbirth until the postpartum period

In this mixed-methods study, we hypothesized that social cognitive theory (SCT)-based educational interventions for healthcare participation can improve the self-efficacy of older rural citizens in participating in their health management without any difficulties. Quasi-experimental study before and after SCT-based educational interventions and semi-structured interviews were conducted. Participants were Japanese elderly (>65 years) from rural communities. Propensity score matching was performed to estimate the effectiveness of educational interventions on participants’ perception (intervention: n = 156; control: n = 121). Interview contents were transcribed verbatim and analyzed based on thematic analysis. The intervention group scored significantly higher than the control group for participation in planning and managing self-care. Interviews revealed three themes: ability to manage health conditions, relationship with medical professionals, and relationship among citizens. Participants reported difficulties in judging symptoms and communicating with medical professionals. Hierarchy and low motivation to participate in healthcare hindered collaboration. The findings suggest that SCT-based educational interventions can positively impact rural citizens’ self-efficacy in healthcare participation.

Abstract Objective Childbirth is a biological, psychological, and sociological event that can be a positive or negative experience, and, without support, this period may be potentially damaging. Parturition may distort maternal emotions and lead to short- or long-term disorders such as postpartum depression and anxiety. The present research aims to study the effects of dialectic behavioral therapy-based counseling on depression, anxiety symptoms, and postpartum hematocrit level. Methods The current research is a clinical trial study, and the sample was selected using parturients who were referred to the Health General Center with a diagnosis of postpartum depression and anxiety. The sample size consisted of 116 subjects who agreed to participate in the study. The patients in intervention group underwent group dialectic behavioral counseling (10 sessions/one session per week) and the control group did not receive any type of intervention. The patients were assessed in the first and last sessions as well as 2 months after the end of the sessions, using the Beck depression scale and Spielberg anxiety scale as well as the results of hematocrit tests. Data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 21.0 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA) Results The results implied the effectiveness of dialectic behavioral therapy on reduction of the depression score, anxiety symptoms (p-value ≤ 0.0001), and hematocrit level (p-value = 0.04). The participants' depression, anxiety, and hematocrit levels decreased in the experiment group compared to the control group, and this decrease has remained until the 2-month follow-up. Conclusion It seems that dialectic behavioral counseling reduces the levels of postpartum depression, anxiety, and hematocrits.

Impaired growth and development of children can be identified by early detection as prevention, prevention, stimulation and development. This study aims to determine the effect of early detection assistance models on the ability of early childhood education (PAUD) teachers in implementing early detection of early childhood growth and development. The research method uses pretest and posttest design with control group. Providing training and mentoring for PAUD teachers using the Stimulation of Detection and Early Intervention Growing Swell (SDIDTK)/ Child Development Pre-screening Questionnaire (KPSP) for the intervention group while for the control group for PAUD teachers by being given a KPSP booklet after the posttest. The results of the analysis showed that there were differences in scores of PAUD teachers' knowledge and skills in stimulating early childhood growth and development (p=0.001) between the intervention group and the control group after the mentoring model intervention. The knowledge of PAUD teachers who are given a mentoring model is better than the control group, there are significant differences in improving the ability of PAUD teachers to do early detection in children compared to the control group. PAUD teachers who are given the intervention of the mentoring model.

IntroductionThere is an outbreak of COVID-19 worldwide. As there is no effective therapy or vaccine yet, rigorous implementation of traditional public health measures such as isolation and quarantine remains the most effective tool to control the outbreak. When an asymptomatic individual with COVID-19 exposure is being quarantined, it is necessary to perform temperature and symptom surveillance. As such surveillance is intermittent in nature and highly dependent on self-discipline, it has limited effectiveness. Advances in biosensor technologies made it possible to continuously monitor physiological parameters using wearable biosensors with a variety of form factors.ObjectiveTo explore the potential of using wearable biosensors to continuously monitor multidimensional physiological parameters for early detection of COVID-19 clinical progression.MethodThis randomised controlled open-labelled trial will involve 200–1000 asymptomatic subjects with close COVID-19 contact under mandatory quarantine at designated facilities in Hong Kong. Subjects will be randomised to receive a remote monitoring strategy (intervention group) or standard strategy (control group) in a 1:1 ratio during the 14 day-quarantine period. In addition to fever and symptom surveillance in the control group, subjects in the intervention group will wear wearable biosensors on their arms to continuously monitor skin temperature, respiratory rate, blood pressure, pulse rate, blood oxygen saturation and daily activities. These physiological parameters will be transferred in real time to a smartphone application called Biovitals Sentinel. These data will then be processed using a cloud-based multivariate physiology analytics engine called Biovitals to detect subtle physiological changes. The results will be displayed on a web-based dashboard for clinicians’ review. The primary outcome is the time to diagnosis of COVID-19.Ethics and disseminationEthical approval has been obtained from institutional review boards at the study sites. Results will be published in peer-reviewed journals.

Abstract Objectives There are limited studies testing the effect of a pregnancy educational intervention on infants’ birth weight. This study investigated the effect of a short message service (SMS), or text message, intervention for promoting adequate gestational weight gain on infants’ birth weight in a sample of pregnant women in Hawai‘i. Methods A randomized clinical trial was conducted among women participating in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) program in Hawai‘i (n = 83). The intervention group (n = 42) received weekly SMS about appropriate energy intake and physical activity and the control group (n = 41) received weekly SMS about general health issues for 4 months during pregnancy. Weight and length at birth were obtained from the participant's chart in WIC and compared between groups. Birthweight was categorized as small (SGA), appropriate (AGA) or large (LGA) for gestational age. Results Women were age 27.7 ± 5.3y on average, 65.5% were Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander or American Indian, 54.8% had some college or more and 37.8% were employed. Infant birth weight was similar in the intervention (3431 ± 682 g) and control groups (3232 ± 599 g; P > 0.05). Mothers in the control group had higher odds of having a SGA baby (OR: 2.21; 95% CI 0.40, 12.2) but similar risk of having a LGA baby (0.27; 95% CI 0.07, 1.05) compared to the intervention group. After adjusting for mothers’ age, education level and employment status, results were similar for SGA (OR: 2.34; 95% CI 0.43, 14.7) and LGA (OR: 0.35; 95% CI 0.08, 1.49). Conclusions There was no significant difference in birth weight between groups in mothers from the WIC program in Hawai‘i. More intensive educational interventions may be needed to observe an impact on birth weight. Abstract BackgroundThe aim of present study was to assess the effect of interprofessional education concerning interprofessional professionalism on learners' perception of the ethical climate of the operating room.MethodThe present study is quasi-experimental design. Learners include surgical residents, operating room technicians, and anesthesia technicians (n=130) that distributed to intervention and control groups. The objectives of the intervention were the development of competencies of ethics and professionalism (including communication, altruism, respect, and excellence). The educational strategy was interprofessional education and the main method of training was scenario-based learning. Participants completed the Olson Moral Climate Questionnaire before and one month after the intervention. We used descriptive tests (mean, SD, percentage), student t-test and ANOVA to compare the scores of learners in the intervention and control groups.ResultsThe results of the study showed that the scores of the learners in the intervention group 4.05 (0.31) improved significantly compared to the control group 3.35 (0.37) (P = 0.0001). The scores of learners in the domain of ​​“managers” improved higher and the domain of ​​physicians improved lesser than other domains. There was no significant difference between the three groups of residents, operating room, and anesthesia technicians in terms of moral climate scores.ConclusionIn the present study showed the positive effect of interprofessional education interventions on individuals' perceptions of the operating room ethical climate. It is suggest that educational interventions be planned and implemented continuously in the educational systems and hospitals.

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a prevalent mental illness affecting women, and less commonly, men in the weeks and months after giving birth. Despite the high incidence of PPD in Australia, rates for help-seeking remain low, with stigma and discrimination frequently cited as the most common deterrents to seeking help from a professional source. The present study sought to investigate PPD stigma in a sample of parents and to examine the effects of an intervention on stigma and help-seeking behaviour. A total of 212 parents aged 18–71 years (M = 36.88, 194 females) completed measures of personal and perceived PPD stigma and attitudes towards seeking mental health services and were randomly assigned to one of four groups: an intervention group (video documentary or factsheet related to PPD) or a control group (video documentary or factsheet not related to PPD). Results showed that there were no effects for type of intervention on either personal or perceived PPD stigma scores. No effect was found for help-seeking propensity. Males had higher personal PPD stigma than females and older age was associated with lower personal PPD stigma. Familiarity with PPD was associated with perceived PPD stigma in others but not personal PPD stigma. More work needs to be conducted to develop interventions to reduce PPD stigma in the community.

Objectives: The present research aimed to determine the effect of time-use training on the quality of time management in the mothers of girls with Intellectual Disability (ID) attending special schools.  Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with a control group design. In total, 80 mothers (40 mothers in the intervention group & 40 mothers in the control group) of children with ID (age range: 6-13 years) were studied. The study participants were selected by cluster sampling method. The required data were collected using a demographic data questionnaire and the Mothers’ Time Use Questionnaire (MTUQ). A time management training program was provided in a one-day workshop for the intervention group. The obtained data were analyzed in SPSS using Independent Samples t-test, Paired Samples t-test, and Chi-squared test. Results: After the intervention period, the quality of time management of the mothers in the intervention group significantly increased, compared to the controls (P<0.05). Discussion: The current research findings suggested that time-use training improved the quality of time management in the studied subjects. Therefore, educational interventions related to time management are recommended for the parents of children with ID. Besides, paying attention to this vulnerable group should be among nurses’ responsibilities.

Objective: The aim of this study was to analyse the effect of 8 weeks of Pokémon GO on physical fitness (cardiorespiratory fitness [CRF], Speed/Agility [S/A], and muscular strength [MS]) and fatness (body mass index [BMI], percentage of body fat [%BF], and waist-hip index), as well as possible differences between weekly physical activity (PA) levels, in Spanish adolescents between 12 and 15 years of age. Design, setting and method: Comparative design, with a control group ( n = 86) that did not participate in Pokémon GO, and an intervention group ( n = 78) which did so over an 8-week period. Age, sex, number of home computers, and maternal educational level were controlled for as possible confounding variables. Results: Results show that players walked a total of 52 km in 8 weeks. Moreover, they played the game for a mean of 40 min/day. Pokémon GO players showed improvements in CRF and BMI ( p < .05). Inactive young people showed a 22.2% increase in CRF and an 11.3% decrease in their %BF compared to non-players. Despite these results, less than half of the participants considered that Pokémon GO had improved their overall fitness and felt more encouraged to engage in PA. Conclusion: Pokémon GO increased PA and CRF levels and decreased BMI and %BF after 8 weeks of practice independently of age, sex, number of computers at home, and maternal education. The Pokémon GO app could be used in school and family contexts to increase the daily amount of MVPA, improve CRF, and to take advantage of the effects of loss of body fat.

ABSTRACT Objective: to compare the scores of knowledge in teams participating or not participating in educational interventions about pressure ulcers. Method: a quantitative study with experimental design. Data were collected through a validated questionnaire. The study included 71 individuals, including nurses and nursing technicians from three intensive care units, divided into intervention group and control group. Data analysis considered the scores of the groups in the moment before and after intervention. To check the average rate of correct answers, we calculated the mean and standard deviation. We carried out the Mann-Whitney test for analysis of two independent samples, and the Wilcoxon test for related samples. Results: The mean percentage of correct answers, at the baseline was 74.1% (SD = 26.4) in the intervention group and 76.0% (SD = 22.9) in the control group and post time -intervention, was 87.8% (SD = 18.8) in the group receiving educational intervention, considering that in the control group it was 79.1% (SD = 22.2). The group that participated in educational interventions did not reach the proper average of 90% correct answers for the test. Conclusion: educational interventions on staging, evaluation and prevention of pressure ulcers contributed significantly to the increase of correct responses score in the knowledge test of the intervention group and improved their knowledge on the subject.
