Poverty is a complex phenomenon based on a network of interlocking economic, social, political, and demographic factors. An understanding of the extent, nature, and determinants of rural poverty is a precondition for effective public policy to reduce poverty in rural Pakistan. The present study attempts to analyze the impact of socioeconomic and demographic characteristics of households on poverty, using primary data collected in the village of Betti Nala in Tehsil Jatoi, district Muzaffargarh in southern Punjab. We have used two distinct approaches: (i) a poverty profile, and (ii) an econometric approach in our empirical analysis. The results show that household size, dependency on household, participation, landholdings, and number of livestock have a significant impact on poverty incidence. Our final conclusion is that efforts should be made to improve socioeconomic factors in general and demographic factors in particular to alleviate rural poverty in remote areas of Pakistan, while land should be allotted to landless households.

Micro finance as an institution are seen to have characteristics that help to solve the problems of moral hazard and adverse selection, which are the existing problems of rural credit institutions which other institutions failed to do. Group lending, peer monitoring and joint liability systems solve the adverse selection and moral hazard issues associated with rural credit markets. This study also focused in finding out the impact of micro finance programme on poverty, money lenders, women empowerment and living standards of the rural poor based on the primary and secondary data collected from Kamavarapukota mandal in Andhra Pradesh in India. Using primary data collected from the filled survey through the constructive schedules and personal interview to estimates the linkages between microfinance and its impacts on rural credit facilities, dependency ratio of money lenders for their credit needs, reduction of rural poverty, and empowerment of women in socio-economic activities.  The conclusion of this study, clearly states that the introducing microfinance inducing the overall improvements of their credit facilities as well as augmentations of their livelihood facilities in different sections of the society.  Further positive effects of this programme is that to  reinforcements of vulnerable groups or targeted population Particularly, SCs, STS, OBCs and other weaker section of the society directly to empower and to participate  in social, economic,  and political activities

The purpose of this research is to find out the ability of the Indonesian nation to respond to globalization: readiness to respond to the negative and positive aspects of the impact of globalization. This type of research is Library Research, namely research through literature or literature studies. Sources of data in this study are primary data, namely books that directly discuss the ability of the Indonesian nation to respond to globalization. The data analysis technique used to obtain conclusions is descriptive qualitative by emphasizing deductive conclusions, namely how to draw conclusions from general to specific things. The conclusion of this paper is that the final conclusion in this study is that the Indonesian nation in responding to the negative and positive aspects of the impact of globalization, should be addressed proportionally because this is a good attitude as a reflection of moderate Islam. Meanwhile, the hard efforts to face the era of globalization must be that the Indonesian nation must be able to produce quality human resources, and have the ability that includes behavior, hard work, discipline, trustworthy responsibility and the like guided by the teachings of AI-Qur'an and Hadith

The main objective of the research is to identify the impact of demographic factors on purchase intention. The study examine whether there is any significant differences on consumers’ purchase intention of television across gender, age groups and education level. Primary data has been used in the study. The structured questionnaire has been used for collection of primary data. Convenient sampling technique has been used to collect information from the respondents and 394respondents have been taken from customers buying Television in Kathmandu. The sampling location for the research has been allocated in show room, colleges and houses in Kathmandu. Age, gender and level of education have been taken as independent variables and purchase intention has been taken as dependent variable. Percentage has been used to analyze the purchase intention of respondents; independent sample t-test and ANOVA Test have been used to analyze the collected data and to draw valid conclusions by using SPSS. The result of independent sample t-test showed that there is no significant difference on purchase intention between male and female in buying television in Nepalese market. The result of ANOVA Test showed that there is no significant difference on purchase intention among different age groups. But the result of ANOVA Test showed that there is significant difference on purchase intention among different level of education.

Incorporating demographic variables in brand management provides many practical benefits for service providers. Although the impact of customers’ perceived values on their attitude and behavior has been extensively examined in the past, studies connecting customers’ demographic characteristics and their tourism behavior remain scarce. Thus, this study aims to empirically investigate the role of demographic variables (e.g. gender, age, income, and marital status) in the relationship between perceived value and brand-related behavior. Specifically, the research conducts several multigroup analyses to examine how demographic factors link Malaysian customers’ behavior toward integrated resort brands. Demographic factors are found to associate with customers’ perceived spiritual, status, efficiency, and aesthetic values. Findings reveal that customers’ individual characteristics and perceived values produce different results in their future behavioral intention toward integrated resort brands. In addition, the impact of spiritual and aesthetic values on brand loyalty is stronger among male customers than among female customers. Moreover, personal satisfaction is highly influential among low-income and married customers. On the basis of these findings, this study provides implications not only for integrated resort service providers but also for destination marketers to develop micromarketing strategies.

Therefore, this study aims at examining the realization of the allocation of village fund, income per capita, and what factors determine the effectiveness of the implementation of village fund allocation policies in Gorontalo District. The complexity of implementing village fund policies requires caution in empirical studies in the field. Therefore the research approach uses qualitative methods. The data source in this study was primary data, which was conducted using a matrix of problem-based interview guidelines. Further, the data analysis techniques used consisted of data collection, data display, data condensation and verifying drawing conclusions. Data obtained in the field show that the allocation of village fund continues to increase. The impact of an increase in the allocation of village fund to the level of development in the village can be seen through per capita income in the last five years that has increased. Furthermore, the results of empirical studies in the field show that there are five important factors that determine the effectiveness of the implementation of village fund policies in Gorontalo District, namely 1) Participation, 2) communication, 3) resources, 4) attitude of implementers 5) organizational structure of implementers, 6) environment.

<p><em>Poverty often occurs in rural areas rather than urban areas, low education which results in low quality of human resources and lack of access is often the cause of rural poverty. In addition, most of the economies of rural communities rely solely on the traditional agricultural sector. Various poverty reduction policies have been implemented, including village fund policies. This study aims to examine the management of village funds in the Balong sub-district of Madiun Regency with a case study in the villages of Tatung and Karangmojo villages covering the management of village funds in Tatung village and Karangmojo village. Balong Subdistrict and the impact of empowerment in the villages of Tatung and Karangmojo, Balong District. This research was conducted in Balong Subdistrict, Ponorogo Regency with a Case study in Tatung Village and Karangmojo Village with qualitative methods. In the village of Tatung village funds are managed as tourist villages with a focus on Paragliding tourist rides. Whereas in Karangmojo village it is used for Bumdes in the form of Lovebird birds, providing Gapoktan assistance, and infrastructure development.</em></p>

At the start of the 21st century, almost one-fifth of humanity-1.2 billion people-live on less than a dollar a day. Pakistan is confronted by a multifaceted dilemma. The major issues facing the country are poverty and income disparity, particularly among the rural segments of the society. And evidence indicates that both have worsened. The impact of poverty is particularly acute on the most vulnerable sections of the society. In the year 1990-91, 39.42 percent of the total 31.81 percent of the population below the poverty line were termed as absolute poor including 34 percent chronically and 61 percent extremely poor. During the last decade or so, nearly 2 million people are added to the clusters of extremely poor, 5 million to chronically poor, 7 million to transient poor. Thus bringing nearly 59.11 percent of the poor population out of poverty is to a certain extent easier than bringing the remaining 40.89 percent out of the poverty trap. Pakistan has witnessed a decline in the growth rate from 6.1 per cent during the 1980s to 4.2 percent during the 1990s. However, the Poverty Equivalent Growth Rate (PEGR) analysis reported in this paper indicates that the pro-poor growth scenario is improving in rural Pakistan. If growth remains pro-poor in the subsequent years as it was in the year 2000-01, there is a likelihood that the growth will trickle down to the poor more than the non-poor.

In the present world, smartphones play an important role in the daily life of people. Technological advancement has made smartphones as devices where mobile users can make money transactions or payment by using applications installed on the smartphone. It’s no secret that people today are digital natives. In this technology-driven society, paying for a cappuccino using a pay-and-go method or buying a sweatshirt with a one-click model, has become the norm. Backing away from cash, they drive innovation in the digital payments industry. That’s the reason digital-driven payments become one of the trends ripe in this digital push era.The research is an attempt at analyzing the impact of demographic factors on consumer selection of the mode of payment along with an understanding of what people think about the idea of paying online and up to what extent they find it more convenient. It is also about knowing factors that affect the consumer’s decision to adopt mobile wallets and various risks and challenges faced by the users of the mobile wallet. An extensive literature review is also done and a lot of information is collected from different sources. In this research, the primary data is collected from the people of the National Capital Region. For this research, the convenience sampling method and snowball sampling method of non-probability sampling is used. The tool used for the collection of data and making of questionnaires is google forms and data is collected from 215 respondents. For tabulation and analysis of data, analytical tools like Microsoft Excel and SPSS is used.

Background The COVID-19 pandemic is creating significant challenges for healthcare infrastructure for countries of all development and resource levels. Low-and-middle resource countries face even larger challenges, as their resources are stretched and often insufficient under normal circumstances. A village in the Papuan highlands of Indonesia; small, isolated, accessed only by small plane or trekking has experienced an outbreak typical of COVID-19. Methodology/Principal Findings This description was compiled from patient care records by lay healthcare workers in M20 (a pseudonym) during and after an outbreak and from medical doctors responding to online requests for help. We assume that, for reasons given, the outbreak that has been described was COVID-19. The dense social structure of the village resulted in a rapid infection of 90-95% of the population. Physical distancing and isolation measures were used, but probably implemented suboptimal and too late, and their effect on the illness course was unclear. The relatively young population, with a majority of women, probably influenced the impact of the epidemic, resulting in only two deaths so far. Conclusions/Significance This outbreak pattern of suspected SARS-CoV-2 in a village in the highlands of Papua (Indonesia) presents a unique report of the infection of an entire village population over five weeks. The age distribution, common in Papuan highland villages may have reduced case fatality rate (CFR) in this context and that might be the case in similar remote areas since survival to old age is already very limited and CFR among younger people is lower.
