Human error is a serious concern in manufacturing industries. It affects product error and liability and even leads to workplace injuries or fatalities. Malaysia has recorded a worrying figure of workplace accidents and injuries. In 2018 alone, there were more than 2700 workplace accidents which led to disabilities and death. A workplace accident would result in a no-win situation for a company. Manufacturing sectors in Malaysia make the highest claims from the total cost of accidents and injuries. The Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) in Malaysia also imposes a fine for companies who breach safety and health regulations in the workplace. Inspections are carried out to ensure that manufacturers obey the rules of occupational safety and health (OSH), and fined for being errant employers. However, these penalisations are often due to the negligence and lack of awareness among employers and employees. Hence, it is of interest for researchers to identify the root causes of human error among manufacturing industries in Malaysia. This review highlights the common causes of workplace accidents and injuries in manufacturing through observation. Several well-known human error models since 1983 are also investigated. The potential outcome of this review is to improve OSH awareness among manufacturers for a more sustainable future in their business, employment, and social well-being.

The embodiment of Balinese buildings is known to be synonymous with the use of natural stone materials which are exposed in such a way and not given additional dyes/coatings. The material used is usually in the form of bricks and sandstone. The center of the natural stone craftsman is a location of concentration of craftsmen who produce hand-crafted natural stone. The artificial natural stone craftsman center has a workshop used by artisans to produce crafts. In the production process, there is certainly a risk of workplace accidents that can be experienced by craftsmen. At the center must implement occupational safety and health to provide a sense of security and comfort in work. There are many work accidents caused by human factors, workplace accidents must be avoided so that the production of crafts can run smoothly. The risk of workplace accidents that can occur in craftsmen centers in the form of being injured by sharp objects, being hit by a hammer, or falling. The health of craftsmen is also an important factor in the production of artificial natural stones. Healthy craftsmen will be able to work productively and produce good quality craft items. The application of occupational safety and health is expected to be a solution in reducing the risk of workplace accidents that can occur in the production process. Index Terms— centers, craftsmen, accidents, health.

Every production process in a company is inseparable from all the dangers of disease and occupational accidents for workers. So in a company it is necessary to implement occupational safety and health in order to reduce and prevent occupational diseases and accidents. In carrying out occupational safety and health at PT Pantja Simpati, PT Pantja Simpati has several problems that can cause illness and work accidents such as unavailability of personal protective equipment, non-functioning air vents, employees smoking in the production room, employees drinking in the production section. part. areas, fire fighting equipment lacks lighting, damaged ceilings or roofs, untidy cables, and slippery production floors. Ways to avoid work accidents such as providing PPE and APAR, repairing damaged equipment, and taking firm action against workers. From the problems found, the implementation of occupational safety and health at PT Pantja Simpati is still not good. Keywords— Occupational Safety and Health, 5W+1H

This chapter focuses on the work-related hazards faced by pornography performers and other laborers in the adult entertainment industry workforce. The chapter reviews demographics and characteristics of pornography performers, what health-related and other challenges those in the industry face because of their work, which organized groups support their collective health and safety on the job, and what policies have been drafted that seek to address pornography performers’ health and safety. The chapter details health hazards, including sexually transmitted infections (STIs), violence on set, stigma, the challenges of working as independent contractors, and lack of wage transparency in the industry. The chapter emphasizes that occupational safety and health hazards faced by performers are undoubtedly compounded when performers are Black, Latinx, transgender, or identify as belonging to another marginalized group. Public health advocates should focus on promoting the well-being of those who work in the pornography industry by establishing meaningful, long-term, trusting partnerships with those presently working in the industry.

Abstract [Title:Work Safety and Health Evaluation on Industrial Engineering Design Practicum II using Job Safety Analysis Method]Industrial Engineering Design Practicum II (IEDP II) is part of an integrated practicum in the UNS Industrial Engineering Study Program that carry out manufacturing activities from raw materials to products. The manufacturing process usesmachines that cause noise that are not in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health (OHS). This study consisted to evaluate OHS in IEDP II to anticipate workplace accidents. OHS analysis uses the Job Safety Analysis Method by identifying and analyzingthe potential risk of workplace accidents. The method of this research is carried out by measuring noise and temperature and conducting structured interviews with practitioners.Measurements made were measurements of noise and temperature in the laboratory and to strengthen the results of measurements conducted structuredinterviews of 20 practitioners from a total of 71 students who then analyzed using JSA. The results of the risk level assessment revealed that 66.67% of the highest risk potential was due to noise. Keywords:JobSafety Analysis;Occupational Safety and Health; Industrial Engineering Design Practicum II

Publicizing firms’ socially undesirable actions may enhance firms’ incentives to avoid such actions. In 2009, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) began issuing press releases about facilities that violated safety and health regulations. Using quasi-random variation arising from a cutoff rule OSHA followed, I find that publicizing a facility’s violations led other facilities to substantially improve their compliance and experience fewer occupational injuries. OSHA would need to conduct 210 additional inspections to achieve the same improvement in compliance as achieved with a single press release. Evidence suggests that employers improve compliance to avoid costly responses from workers. (JEL J28, J81, K32, L51, M54)

Powerful and ongoing changes in how people work, the workforce, and the workplace require a more holistic view of each of these. We argue that an expanded focus for occupational safety and health (OSH) is necessary to prepare for and respond rapidly to future changes in the world of work that will certainly challenge traditional OSH systems. The WHO Model for Action, various European efforts at well-being, and the Total Worker Health concept provide a foundation for addressing changes in the world of work. However, a paradigm expansion to include the recognition of worker and workforce well-being as an important outcome of OSH will be needed. It will also be vital to stimulate transdisciplinary efforts and find innovative ways to attract and train students into OSH professions as the paradigm expands. This will require active marketing of the OSH field as vibrant career choice, as a profession filled with meaningful, engaging responsibilities, and as a well-placed investment for industry and society. An expanded paradigm will result in the need for new disciplines and specialties in OSH, which may be useful in new market efforts to attract new professionals. Ultimately, to achieve worker and workforce well-being we must consider how to implement this expanded focus.
