Abstract: Multidrug Resistance Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is a serious health problem in society towards the effort to eliminate TB and its prevention in global scale as well as in Indonesia. MDR-TB incidence is difficult to determine because sputum propagation and medicine sensitivity test is not routinely implemented in places with high prevalence. The raising of TB MDR is influenced by several factors, as follows: the patients, caregivers, and medical service factors. This study was aimed to determine the profile of TB-MDR patients treated at Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital Manado from August 2015 to August 2016. This was a descriptive-retrospective study based on secondary data of the medical record in period August 2015 - August 2016 at Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital Manado. The results showed that of 30 patients who met the inclusion criteria, the highest percentages were in males (67%), age range 41-50 years (36%), senior high school as the latest education (54%), patients originated from Manado (63.33%), normal nutrition status (57%), and the GeneXpert result was medium (56%). The most common comorbidity was type 2 DM (23%). Conclusion: In this study, the majority of MDR-TB patients were males, age range 41-50 years, senior high school as the last education was SLTA, originated from Manado, normal nutrition status, and the GeneXpert resulted in medium. Morbidities of most patients experienced is DM type 2.Keywords: TB, TB MDR, genexpert Abstrak: Multidrug resistance tuberculosis (TB MDR) memrupakan masalah kesehatan yang serius di dalam masyarakat terhadap pemberantasan TB serta pencegahannya baik dalam skala dunia maupun di Indonesia. Background: Despite increasing numbers of MDR TB cases seen in Nepal, a lot remains to be understood about the disease in the local context. We evaluated possible risk factors for MDR TB among patients enrolled for treatment at a district hospital in western Nepal. Methods: A descriptive case-series study using structured interviews and abstraction of treatment records of all patients registered at the DOTS Plus clinic at Bhim Hospital, Bhairahawa from April 2008 to Dec 2008 was done. Descriptive analysis was done to find out frequencies and relations. Results: Of the total 31 patients, 22 were males (age range 18-68, median 36.7) and the remaining 9 females (age range 23-56, median 33.7). 27(87%) of the patients had monthly income below Rs 3000 and 24 (77%) of them were illiterate. 21(67%) had missed at least a few weeks of drugs during their previous treatment and 4 (13%) had been marked as defaulters. 6 (20%) had treatment failure. 74% of the patients were smokers, 2 were HIV positive. 20 (58%) had lived in India for at least 6 months where they had incomplete treatment of TB. 30 (97%) patients had disclosed their MDR status to their families; however 70% said they did not do so immediately. Conclusions: Previous TB treatment, male sex, poverty, migration to India, illiteracy and smoking have been observed in a majority of the cases in this study. These findings need to be corroborated with multi-centre casecontrol studies to bring out nationally relevant risk factors for MDR TB. Key words: directly observed treatment short course-plus; multi- drug resistance; risk factors; tuberculosis. This study is intended to provide an analysis of the competency map of senior high school students in the Final National Exam (FNE) for mathematics subject in Free Trade Zone (FTZ) of Riau Islands province. Sample was determined by examining secondary data in the form of 2014 Final National Examination (FNE) results published by the Education Assessment Center of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia in the FTZ of Riau Islands Province, namely Batam, Bintan, and Karimun regencies. Criteria of sample determination were schools with lower Graduate Competency Standards (GCS) than the regency/city GCS, distribution of public or private schools, and distribution of school locations, with a total sample of 37 schools. The research was conducted by using descriptive statistical method to gain a description of the senior high school students’ competency in mathematics subject based on their FNE scores. The findings of this research can be made input and consideration for schools and government to improve the quality of education through analysis of the FNE results. The research results show that low GCS achievements were found in geometry and trigonometry topics, especially in the skills of determining position, distance, and magnitude of angles involving points, lines, and fields in solid geometry. The mean percentage of GCS mastery in the FTZ was 22.86%, with Batam 26.02%, Bintan 18.66%, and Karimun 18.72%. The result of the interview shows that the low GCS is caused by the lack of teaching media in the visual forms or simulators to build students’ understanding and limited time allocated in teaching. The solution recommended to solve this problem is by applying ICT-based learning to improve students’ understanding of geometry and trigonometry materials and also the use of video conferencing during mathematics teacher working group meetings.
