[EN] In the Meranti Islands district, especially in the Subdistrict of Rangsang District, the people generally use rain water and river water as their daily clean water needs, if in the dry season the community in general is difficult to get clean water. With the availability of clean water facilities built by the government of the Meranti Islands Regency, the Drinking Water Supply Facility (SPAM) is very helpful in meeting the community's clean water needs. Viewed in color, the clean water produced by SPAM in the District of Rangsang is brownish in color, in terms of color it is almost the same as the SPAM raw water in the District of Rangsang. At SPAM in the District of Rangsang, the process of treating clean water uses the methods of coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation and filtration. Researchers try to review whether the treatment processes are in accordance with the methods that have been applied, find out the quality of clean water produced and find out the problems found in the SPB Subdistrict. From the results of research conducted for the processing of clean water there is a process that is not done that is not done by adding coagulant substances, it is because the coagulant substances in SPAM Subdistrict, Rangsang District are not available at this time. For the quality of clean water produced by SPAM in the Subdistrict of Rangsang District, it does not meet clean water quality standards based on the Minister of Health Regulation number 416 of 1990 concerning "requirements and quality control of water", which is clean water in accordance with the results of laboratory tests on the city health office Pekanbaru on November 13 2017, and there are some tools that are not operating, namely the damage of 1 Intake pump and 1 distribution pump.

Marine life and natural scenery - in the category of nautical tourism - are the potentials of the Kelapa Lima, Kupang beach. However, there are problems that; construction progress, residentials and bussines activities nearby coast of Kelapa Lima, Kupang, indicated that there are contamination by wastewater into the waters of this beach. Then, this issue is adjusted to the standards Environment Minister Regulation number 51 of 2014 and in 2013 number 115 on the sea water quality standard. The method used is the equation written by Sumiotomo and Nerow (1970) in the Minister of Environment No. 115 of 2003. The formula that is used to calculate the results of studies measuring the location parameter with the default value determined by the Ministry of Environment in 2004. Later, research shows that the quality of the waters of the Pantai Kelapa Lima Kupang has begun to decline in the presence of contamination by sewage. Liquid waste is already affecting marine life that corals and mangroves, while the beauty of the sea coast, the liquid waste is already reducing the amount of oxygen for the oxidation process that takes coastal sea to the decomposition of waste into the sea, causing sedimentation affect water clarity sea shore. Therefore, there needs to be immediate action from the government to educate more people about the importance of maintaining the beauty of the beach, and helped make the disposal of liquid waste discharges in coastal areas to reduce the causes of liquid wastes into the coastal sea.

At least since Akerlof (1970), asymmetric information in the case of experience goods has been a central issue in the economic literature. This paper studies regulation in markets where the quality of the experience good is never completely verifiable by consumers even after purchase. In the proposed model firms can decide the quality of the good: always producing a high quality good creates a positive externality in the market, but it causes an incentive to the firms to deviate and produce low quality goods. The main policy instrument for the government, in order to maximize Social Welfare, is to fix a minimum quality standard, but imposing a too high standard might, in some cases, lower the average quality of the good in the market.

AbstractWater quality studies in Nigeria are usually conducted at local scales and limited to a restricted number of chemical contaminants, while reliable data on trace metal concentrations (including arsenic) are relatively scarce. This study focuses on the quality of available renewable water resources in terms of major ion and trace element concentrations at selected sampling locations in the Lower River Niger basin and part of the Lagos region. A screening of water contamination by arsenic and heavy metals was carried out through water sampling at selected locations using in situ measurement and laboratory testing to estimate heavy metal concentrations and water type. The analysis reveals moderate trace element contamination of the water resources, with the exception of Pb, while Mn and, to a lesser extent, Al exceeded WHO quality standards, but the Arsenic concentrations are within drinking water quality standards and are safe for consumption and irrigation, while the water type is Bicarbonate.

The lack of clean water distribution by local water service (PDAM) of Palangka Raya city is the major reason for people around the final processing site/landfill (Tempat Pemrosesan Akhir) at Km 14 to use groundwater for their daily life. The landfill may cause pollution over groundwater known as leachate, which commonly unnoticed by its users. This study aims at assessing the quality of groundwater in that area. The groundwater was taken at different distances from the site in three rainless-days. The physical, chemical and biology parameters of groundwater are observed in the field (in situ) and analyzed in the laboratory, refers to water quality standard of Class I, according to Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001 and Minister of Health Regulation No. 32 of 2017. Public opinion on that issue is cached through interview. The results showed that the groundwater around the landfill in three rainless-days was harmless to be consumed as drinking water, and did not exceed the water quality standards stipulated by government in term of odorless, tasteless, and colorless. Some indicators also show that the groundwater meets the specified quality standards, i.e. TDS (17-68.14 mg/L), DHL (17,15-69.39 ?s), turbidity (0.11-2.50 mg/L), iron (0.227-0.71 mg/L), manganese (<0.0123-0.02 mg/L), coliform (<1.8-280 MPN/100 ml), while Pb and H2S were not detected. From community side, there are no any health complaints arise as long as they use the water.
