ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui senyawa aktif yang terkandung melalui pengujian fitokimia dan aktivitas antioksidan pada tumbuhan obat di pulau Tidore. Uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH dilanjutkan dengan perhitungan Inhibition Concentration 50% (IC50). Hasil yang diperoleh adalah biji buah mojoi terkandung senyawa alkaloid dan saponin, buah coro terkandung alkaloid, flavonoid, dan saponin, pada daun ofo terkandung  alkaloid, tanin, flavonoid, steroid, dan saponin dan pada rimpang kuso mafola terkandung alkaloid, tanin, flavonoid, steroid, dan saponin. Nilai IC50 sebagai berikut biji rimpang kuso mafola 37,30 ppm, buah coro 250,17 ppm, daun ofo 976,10 ppm  dan buah mojoi 1001, 07 ppm. Kata kunci :Tumbuhan  obat, DPPH, antioksidan dan uji fitokimia. PHYTOCHEMICALS TEST AND DETERMINATION Inhibition Concentration 50% ON SOME MEDICINAL PLANTS IN THE TIDORE ISLAND ABSTRACT This study was conducted to determine the active compounds contained in an assessment of phytochemical and antioxidant activity in the medicinal plants of Tidore island. The test antioxidant activity was used DPPH method. In the test results to the phytochemical , that mojoi fruit seeds contained alkaloids and saponins, fruit coro (alkaloids, flavonoids, and saponins), ofo leaves (alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, steroids, and saponins) and ethanol extract of rhizome kusomafola (alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, steroids, and saponins. In  calculation of IC50 values ​​for rhizome kusomafola 37.30 ppm, 250.17 ppm coro fruit, 976.10 ppm ofo leaf extract, and fruit seed extract mojoi 1001.07 ppm. Antioxidant Activity of Aquous Extract of Sembung Leaf (Blumea balsamifera)             Simplicia medicinal plants are more commonly known by the term of herbal medicine in the form boiling and steeping. Sembung leaf water extracts content of secondary metabolites has potential natural antioxidant. An antioxidant is a substance that can prevent or slow down the deterioration of a substance. This research aimed to test the potential of antioxidant in water extracts of leaves sembung (Blumea balsamifera) in the form of boiling and steeping using DPPH method through determination of IC50 values. Best antioxidant test results found in extracts of steeping the leaves with IC50 values of 155,65 ml/l while the extract boiling sembung with IC50 values indicated by 293,80 ml/l, antioxidant standards testing used was quercetin.Keywords : antioxidant, aquous  extract, Blumea balsamifera, DPPH ABSTRAK         Simplisia tanaman obat yang lebih dikenal dengan istilah jamu sering diaplikasikan dalam bentuk godogan dan seduhan. Ekstrak air daun sembung memiliki kandungan metabolit sekunder yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan alami. Antioksidan merupakan substansi yang dapat mencegah atau memperlambat kerusakan suatu zat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji potensi antioksidan ekstrak air daun sembung (Blumea balsamifera) dalam bentuk seduhan dan godogan dengan metode DPPH melalui penentuan nilai IC50.  Hasil uji antioksidan terbaik terdapat pada ekstrak seduhan daun sembung dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 155,65 ml/l sedangkan ekstrak godogan sembung menunjukan nilai IC50 sebesar 293,80 ml/l,  sebagai standar pengujian antioksidan digunakan kuersetin.Kata kunci : Antioxidan, extract air, Blumea balsamifera, DPPH

ABSTRACTDayak onion plant (Eleutherine americana Merr.) or commonly called forest onion is a typical plant of Central Kalimantan that has been used by local peoples for cure a various types of diseases. This study aims to determine the activity of antioxidant compounds from Dayak bulb ethanol extracts from Kotamobagu City. This research method is an experimental laboratory. Initially the Dayak bulb sample was extracted maceration with 96% ethanol solvent then evaporated until a thick extract was obtained. As a parameter, the DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) was used to test the antioxidant activity of the samples at concentrations of 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90 mg / L and as a comparison standard used Vitamin C with concentrations of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mg / L. The results obtained showed antioxidant activity in Dayak bulb ethanol extracts with IC50 values of 41.46 mg / L and on vitamin C IC50 values of 1.04 mg / L. Based on these results it can be concluded that the onion bulb ethanol extract has very strong antioxidant activity. Keywords: Dayak Onion bulbs, Activity, Antioxidant, DPPH  ABSTRAK Tanaman bawang Dayak (Eleutherine americana Merr.) atau biasa disebut bawang hutan merupakan tanaman khas Kalimantan Tengah yang sudah dipergunakan masyarakat lokal sebagai obat berbagai jenis penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas senyawa antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol bulbus bawang Dayak yang berasal dari Kota Kotamobagu. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratorium. Awalnya sampel bulbus bawang Dayak diekstraksi maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96% kemudian dievaporasi hingga didapatkan ekstrak kental. Sebagai parameter, digunakan metode DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) untuk pengujian aktivitas antioksidan sampel pada konsentrasi 50, 60, 70, 80 dan 90 mg/L dan sebagai standar pembanding digunakan Vitamin C dengan konsentrasi 2, 4, 6, 8 dan 10 mg/L. Hasil penelitian yang didapat menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak etanol bulbus bawang Dayak dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 41,46 mg/L dan pada vitamin C nilai IC50 sebesar 1,04 mg/L. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol bulbus bawang Dayak memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat. Kata kunci: Bulbus Bawang Dayak, Aktivitas, Antioksidan, DPPH

The aim of this article is to evaluate antioxidant activity of leaf extract of Magnolia champaca by using in vitro assay. Extraction was carried out with ethanol by using Soxhlet apparatus. The invitro antioxidant activity of ethanol extract has been investigated by 1, 1-diphenyl, 2-picryl–hydrazyl free radical (DPPH) method. The ethanol extract exhibited maximum antioxidant activity. The results have been compared with the standard ascorbic acid.

Free radicals are one of the cause of various diseases. The use of synthetic antioxidant compounds could prevent the effect of the free radicals, however may cause adverse effects on the human body such as impaired liver, lung, intestinal and poisoning. Therefore antioxidant from natural resources needs to be developed. The purpose of this research was to determine the antioxidant activity and IC50 value of the ethanol extract of ganitri (Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxbs.) leaves. Ganitri leaf ethanol extract activity test was carried out using DPPH method with vitamin C as a standard. Antioxidant activity was determined as a decreas in the absorbance of DPPH at 517 nm wavelength after an addition of the extract with the concentrations of 20, 40, 80, and 100 ppm. The antioxidant acitivity measurement of the ganitri leaf extract showed that the linier regression equation obtained was y = 0.3669x + 29.546, r = 0.4573 while the IC50 value was 54,12 ppm. Based on the result, it is concluded that the ethanol extract of ganitri (Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb.) leaf showed was categorized as strong antioxidant.

The study about antioxidant activity test of coffee parasite leaves (Loranthus ferrugineus Roxb.) by 1,1-diphenyl-2-pikrilhidrazyl (DPPH) method has been done. The aim of this study was to determine the content and activity of secondary metabolites, flavonoids and antioxidant, which found in the coffee parasite leaves. Dry powder of parasite coffee leaves (Loranthus ferrugineus Roxb.) as much as 0.5 kg were macerated by 2 L of ethanol solvent at room temperature for 4 x 24 hours, then mixed and filtered. Ethanol filtrate was evaporated at 30-40°C by using a rotary evaporator to obtain the crude extract of coffee parasite leaves. The results of the phytochemical screening showed positively that the extract was containing alkaloid, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and steroid compounds.The results of the antioxidant activity test by using DPPH method was obtained that the amount of antioxidant activity of the samples of ethanol extract had a very strong antioxidant activity against radical DPPH 0.05 mM, with IC50 values was obtained 6.063 ppm. Whereas, for comparison of ascorbic acid was about 3.127 ppm.

Optimization of The Drying Time of The Anti-Oxidant Activity of The Ethanol Extract of The Rhizomes of Temu Putih (Curcuma aromatica Salisb)Indonesia is a tropical country that has many varieties of medicinal herbal plants. One of them is Curcuma aromatica Salisb. It has a secondary metabolite that acts as an antioxidant. The metabolite will degrade if it goes through a long drying process. The Curcuma aromatica Salisb rhizome is dried at a temperature of 65oC with variant time durations : 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 hours. The dried rhizome is extracted with ethanol as the solvent and the results are 14.16%, 11,89%, 15,95%, 12,10% dan 11,97% respectively. Phytochemical test shows the existence of alkaloids and flavonoids in the extract. The measurement of antioxidant activity is done using the DPPH method with a spectrophotometer at 517 nm wavelength. The result is then compared to Quercetin as the positive control. The IC50  values of Quercetin, extracts of Curcuma after 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 hours after drying respectively are 6,47µ g/ml , 160,54µ g/ml, 133,17µ g/ml, 117,81µ g/ml, 144,69 µ g/ml, dan 157,7 µ g/ml. The extracts after 23-25 hours of drying have medium antioxidant levels, while the ones with 22 and 26 hours of drying have low antioxidant levels. The duration of drying affects the antioxidant activity of Curcuma aromatica salisb extract. The highest value of IC50 is achieved on the positive control of Quercetin and followed by the Curcuma extract with 24 hours of drying.Key words : ethanol, Curcuma aromatica salisb, drying duration, antioxidant activity ABSTRAKIndonesia merupakan negara tropis yang memiliki berbagai macam tanaman obat. Salah satunya adalah temu putih (Curcuma aromatica Salisb). Temu putih mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder yang bermanfaat sebagai antioksidan. Senyawa metabolit sekunder akan rusak bila dikeringkan dengan waktu yang lama.Rimpang temu putih dikeringkan pada suhu 65oC dengan variasi waktu 22, 23, 24, 25 dan 26 jam. Simplisia temu putih diekstrak dengan pelarut etanol diperoleh rendemen berturut-turut, 14,16%, 11,89%, 15,95%, 12,10% dan 11,97%. Uji Fitokimia menunjukkan adanya alkaloid dan flavonoid pada ekstrak etanol rimpang temu putih. Penentuan aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode DPPH menggunakan spektrofotometer pada panjang gelomban g 517 nm. Hasilnya dibandingkan dengan Kuersetin sebagai kontrol positif. Nilai IC50 Kuersetin, ekstrak etanol rimpang temu putih 22, 23 24, 25 dan 26 jam berturut-turut adalah 6,47μg/ml , 160,54μg/ml, 133,17μg/ml, 117,81μg/ml, 144,69 μg/ml, dan 157,7 μg/ml. Ekstrak etanol rimpang temu putih pengeringan 23-25 jam memiliki aktivitas antioksidan sedang, sedangkan pengeringan 22 dan 26 jam memiliki aktivitas antioksidan lemah. Lama proses pengeringan mempengaruhi aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol rimpang temu putih. IC50 terbaik diperoleh pada standar positif Kuersetin kemudian pada ekstrak etanol rimpang temu putih pengeringan 24 jam.Kata Kunci : etanol, Curcuma aromatica Salisb, lama pengeringan, aktivitas antioksidan

Kabau (Archidendron bubalinum) is one of the plants that is often used as food ingredients and has the potential to be developed in the health sector. This study aims to determine the antioxidant potential of kabau seeds using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picril hidrazil (DPPH) and ferric reducing ability power (FRAP) methods and to identify active compounds of kabau seeds using GC-MS. Kabau seeds were macerated using 70% ethanol and 99.9% ethanol. The results showed that 99.9% ethanol extract of kabau seed coat had the highest antioxidant activity with IC50 values of 26.75 ppm for the DPPH method and 121.55 ppm for the FRAP method, respectively. Identification of active compounds using GC-MS showed that 99.9% ethanol extract of kabau seed coat contained the most 9,12-octadecadienoic acid compounds (linoleic acid) so that it could be developed as an antioxidant.

One of the efforts to optimize the utilization of natural materials that is used them as medicinal plants, including Dlingu (Acorus calamus L.) and Garlic (Allium sativum) which have the potential as antioxidants. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a combination extract of Acorus calamus L. (Dlingu) and Allium sativum (Garlic) on antioxidant activity. This research is an experimental research which is the test of antioxidant content and antioxidant activity test with 5 series of concentrations and 4 times of repetition. The research materials, namely dlingu stem and single clove garlic tubers were extracted, phytochemical screening was carried out and then antiradical free IC50 was determined. Based on the test results of the chemical extract of dligu and single clove garlic, the highest content was alkaloid 5.16%, tannin 4.05%, saponin 3.01%, and flavonoid 2.18%. The test results of the chemical antioxidant activity of extracts dligu and single clove garlic contain IC50 values of 17.062 ppm, including a very strong class of antioxidants.Keywords: antioxidant, Dlingu, Single Clove (Male) Garlic.

ABSTRACTBelimbing wuluh leaves (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) Contains  flavonoids, phenols, alkaloids, tannins and coumarin. The aim of this research is formulated ethanol extract of Belimbing Wuluh leaves in the form of cream preparations, as well as test the effectiveness of antioxidants using the DPPH method. Extract was made by maceration method using ethanol 96% formulated into a cream with a concentration of 3%, 5%, 7%. The results of the cream preparations evaluation before and after cycling test meet the requirements of organoleptis, homogeneity, pH, adhesiveness, coverage. The test results of antioxidant activity with the DPPH method using the most effective UV-Vis spectrophotometer as the antioxidant cream of the leaves extract Belimbing Wuluh is 7% has a value of IC50 = 0.118 ppm and vitamin C as comparator has a value of IC50 = 0.0327 ppm. From this research can be concluded that Belimbing Wuluh leaves ethanol extract cream can be formulated as a stable cream and has a very strong antioxidant activity. Tujuan penelitian ini membuat formulasi ekstrak etanol daun Belimbing Wuluh dalam bentuk sediaan krim, serta menguji efektivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH. Pembuatan ekstrak dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 96 % diformulasi menjadi krim dengan konsentrasi 3%, 5% ,7%. Hasil evaluasi sediaan krim sebelum dan sesudah cycling test memenuhi persyaratan organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, daya lekat, daya sebar. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis yang paling efektif sebagai krim antioksidan dari ekstrak daun Belimbing Wuluh adalah 7 % memiliki nilai IC50 = 0,118 ppm dan vitamin C sebagai pembanding memiliki nilai IC50 = 0,0327 ppm. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa krim ekstrak  etanol daun Belimbing Wuluh dapat diformulasikan sebagai sediaan krim yang stabil dan memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat.  Kata kunci : Daun Belimbing Wuluh, Krim, Antioksidan, DPPH

Unhealthy lifestyles and air pollution cause the number of free radicals in the body to increase. To protect the body from free radicals, there are antioxidant compounds as an antidote and stabilize free radicals. One of the Indonesian plants that can be used as antioxidants is gotu kola (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban. Objective: This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of gotu kola herb using the DPPH (2,2-Diphenyl-1-pikrilhidrazil) method. with IC50 value. Method: Gotu kola (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) was extracted by the soxhletation method using 96% ethanol solvent. The testing of antioxidant activity was carried out using the DPPH (2.2 Diphenyl-1-Pikrihydrazil) method. Result: Test results of antioxidant activity The ethanol extract of gotu kola herb showed an IC50 value of 78.20 ppm. Conclusion: This indicated that the ethanol extract of gotu kola herb was included in the criteria for strong antioxidants.
