ABSTRACTBay leaf (Syzygium Polyanthum (Wight) Walpers.) is known contains flavonoids, saponins, tannins and vitamin C. Flavonoids and vitamin C have an antioxidant activity, since they have the ability to remove and effectively reduce a damaging oxidizer species. The aim of the study is to determine the impact of  the bay leaf ethanol extract enhancement concentration towards  an antioxidant activity of cream preparation by using the DPPH method. This research used laboratory experimental methods. Cream formulations are made with various concentrations 1%, 3%, 6% and 9%. The evaluation results of the bay leaf cream preparation has fulfilled the requirements of homogeneity, organoleptic, pH, adhesion, dispersion, and centrifugation. The results of the antioxidant activity test using the DPPH method using the UV-Vis spectrophotometer which was the most effective as an antioxidant cream from bay leaf extract was 3% with a value IC_50 = 1.4630 ppm and vitamin C as a comparison with a value IC_50 = 0.1131 ppm. From this research, it can be concluded that the cream formulation of bay leaf ethanol extract has fulfilled the physical test parameters, stabile, and had a powerful antioxidant activity.Keywords: : Bay Leaf (Sysigium Polyanthum (Wight) Walpers.), Antioxidant Cream, DPPH (1.1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazyl) Method  ABSTRAKDaun salam (Syzygium Polyanthum (Wight) Walpers.) diketahui mengandung flavonoid, saponin, tanin dan vitamin C. Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh peningkatan kosentrasi ekstrak etanol daun salam terhadap aktivitas antioksidan pada sediaan krim dengan menggunakan metode DPPH. Penelitian ini mengggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium. Formulasi sediaan krim dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi 1%, 3%, 6% dan 9%. Hasil evaluasi sediaan krim daun salam memenuhi persyaratan homogenitas, organoleptis, pH , daya lekat, daya sebar, sentrifugasi. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis yang paling efektif sebagai krim antioksidan dari ekstrak daun salam adalah 3% memiliki nilai = 1,4630 ppm dan vitamin C sebagai pembanding memiliki nilai = 0,1131 ppm. ABSTRACT Red spinach leaves (Amaranthus tricolor L.) contain  flavonoid  compounds,  saponins  and  tannins which had antioxidant potential. This study aims to test the antioxidant activity of ethanol extracts of Red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) leaves used to be DPPH method and evaluate cream preparations used physical test parameters. This study used a laboratory experimental method. The formulate of cream preparations and variations in the concentration of 0,25%, 0,5%, 0,75 %, 1%, 1,25%. The results obtained before and after the cycling test showed that cream preparations with 0,5% concentration met organoleptic requirements, homogeneity, cream pH 5,29 (4,5-6,5), cream adhesion 16,20 seconds (> 4 seconds ), the spreadability of the cream is 5,37 cm  (5-7 cm) and the antioxidant activity test produced value  2,82 ppm and vitamin C value of 0,22 ppm. It can be concluded that cream preparation of ethanol extract of Red spinach leaves meets physical test parameters, is stable and had very strong antioxidant activity.   Key words : Red spinach  (Amaranthus tricolor L.), Cream, Antioxidants, DPPH (1.1-diphenyl-2- picrylhydrazyl). ABSTRAK Daun Bayam merah (Amaranthus tricolor L.) mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tannin yang memiliki potensial antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas antioksidan sediaan krim ekstrak etanol daun Bayam merah (Amaranthus tricolor L.) menggunakan metode DPPH dan mengevaluasi sediaan krim menggunakan parameter uji fisik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental laboratorium dan formulasi sediaan krim dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi 0,25%, 0,5%, 0,75%%, 1%, 1,25%. Hasil penelitian yang didapat sebelum dan sesudah cycling test menunjukkan bahwa sediaan krim konsentrasi 0,5% memenuhi persyaratan organoleptis, homogenitas, pH krim 5,29 (4,5-6,5), daya lekat krim 16,20 detik (>4 detik), daya sebar krim  5,37 cm  (5-7 cm) serta uji aktivitas antioksidan menghasilkan nilai  2,82 ppm dan nilai   vitamin C 0,22 ppm. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sediaan krim ekstrak etanol daun Bayam merah memenuhi parameter uji fisik, stabil dan memiliki aktivitas  antioksidan yang sangat kuat.  Kata kunci : Bayam merah (Amaranthus tricolor L.), Krim, Antioksidan, DPPH (1.1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl).

ABSTRACTBelimbing wuluh leaves (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) Contains  flavonoids, phenols, alkaloids, tannins and coumarin. The aim of this research is formulated ethanol extract of Belimbing Wuluh leaves in the form of cream preparations, as well as test the effectiveness of antioxidants using the DPPH method. Extract was made by maceration method using ethanol 96% formulated into a cream with a concentration of 3%, 5%, 7%. The results of the cream preparations evaluation before and after cycling test meet the requirements of organoleptis, homogeneity, pH, adhesiveness, coverage. The test results of antioxidant activity with the DPPH method using the most effective UV-Vis spectrophotometer as the antioxidant cream of the leaves extract Belimbing Wuluh is 7% has a value of IC50 = 0.118 ppm and vitamin C as comparator has a value of IC50 = 0.0327 ppm. From this research can be concluded that Belimbing Wuluh leaves ethanol extract cream can be formulated as a stable cream and has a very strong antioxidant activity. Research on phytochemical screening and antioxidant activity testing of the ethanol extract of buni leaves (Antidesma bunius L. Spreng) has been carried out. This study aims to identify secondary metabolite compounds contained in buni leaf plants to see the activity of the ethanol extract of buni leaves using the DPPH method. Buni leaves were extracted in 96% ethanol by maceration method, then evaporated using a rotary evaporator. The results of thick extract were screened for phytochemicals such as phenolics, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, steroids and terpenoids using a qualitative color test method and carrying out antioxidant activity using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer with Vitamin C as a comparison. The results showed that the ethanol extract of buni leaves contained phenolic compounds, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, steroids and terpenoids as well as IC50 Vitamin C of 5.22 ppm which is classified as a very strong antioxidant, while the IC50 of buni leaves ethanol extract is lower at 61, 8 ppm which is classified as a strong antioxidant

Wualae (Etlingera elatior (Jack) R.M Smith) is one of the plants in the Zingiberaceae family, widely used in medicine ranging from rhizomes, fruits, and flowers. Empirically Wualae are usually used by people for treating skin diseases, flavoring food, a natural soap, and in Southeast Sulawesi, it is used to treat typhoid fever. This study aims to examine the antioxidant activity of Wualae (Etlingera elatior) plant. The plant extracts were extracted by maceration method, antioxidant activity test was performed by 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. The results showed that ethanol extracts of fruits, leaves, stems and rhizomes of Wualae (Etlingera elatior) has the potential antioxidant activity with the IC50 values of 72.518 mg/L, 99.890 mg/L, 52.345 mg/L and 58.638 mg/L, respectively. and Vitamin C has IC50 value of 3,787 mg/L.

ABSTRACTDayak onion plant (Eleutherine americana Merr.) or commonly called forest onion is a typical plant of Central Kalimantan that has been used by local peoples for cure a various types of diseases. This study aims to determine the activity of antioxidant compounds from Dayak bulb ethanol extracts from Kotamobagu City. This research method is an experimental laboratory. Initially the Dayak bulb sample was extracted maceration with 96% ethanol solvent then evaporated until a thick extract was obtained. As a parameter, the DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) was used to test the antioxidant activity of the samples at concentrations of 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90 mg / L and as a comparison standard used Vitamin C with concentrations of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mg / L. The results obtained showed antioxidant activity in Dayak bulb ethanol extracts with IC50 values of 41.46 mg / L and on vitamin C IC50 values of 1.04 mg / L. Based on these results it can be concluded that the onion bulb ethanol extract has very strong antioxidant activity. Keywords: Dayak Onion bulbs, Activity, Antioxidant, DPPH  ABSTRAK Tanaman bawang Dayak (Eleutherine americana Merr.) atau biasa disebut bawang hutan merupakan tanaman khas Kalimantan Tengah yang sudah dipergunakan masyarakat lokal sebagai obat berbagai jenis penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas senyawa antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol bulbus bawang Dayak yang berasal dari Kota Kotamobagu. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratorium. Awalnya sampel bulbus bawang Dayak diekstraksi maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96% kemudian dievaporasi hingga didapatkan ekstrak kental. Sebagai parameter, digunakan metode DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) untuk pengujian aktivitas antioksidan sampel pada konsentrasi 50, 60, 70, 80 dan 90 mg/L dan sebagai standar pembanding digunakan Vitamin C dengan konsentrasi 2, 4, 6, 8 dan 10 mg/L. Hasil penelitian yang didapat menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak etanol bulbus bawang Dayak dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 41,46 mg/L dan pada vitamin C nilai IC50 sebesar 1,04 mg/L. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol bulbus bawang Dayak memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat. Kata kunci: Bulbus Bawang Dayak, Aktivitas, Antioksidan, DPPH

ABSTRACT Sponges are a component of coral reef biota that has bioactive compounds with a greater percentage of activity compared to compounds produced by terrestrial plants. This study aims to determine the presence of antioxidant activity in the ethanol extracts of sponge Ianthella basta from the waters of Tumbak Village. Ianthella basta sponge was extracted using maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. Antioxidant activity testing was carried out using the DPPH method with a concentration of 100 µg / mL, 75 μg / mL, 50 μg / mL, and 25 μg / mL and Vitamin C p.a as positive control. Each sample was made three repetitions of the test. Testing using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results showed that the ethanol extract of the Ianthella basta sponge had antioxidant activity with a percentage of 48.73% at a concentration of 100 µg / mL. Keywords: Ianthella basta sponge, Antioxidants, Extraction, DPPH  ABSTRAK Spons merupakan salah satu komponen biota penyusun terumbu karang yang mempunyai senyawa bioaktif dengan persentase keaktifan lebih besar dibandingkan dengan senyawa-senyawa yang dihasilkan oleh tumbuhan darat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya aktivitas antioksidan di dalam ekstrak etanol Spons Ianthella basta dari perairan Desa Tumbak. Spons Ianthella basta diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode DPPH dengan konsentrasi 100 µg/mL, 75 µg/mL, 50 µg/mL, dan 25 µg/mL dan Vitamin C p.a sebagai kontrol positif. Masing-masing sampel dibuat tiga kali pengulangan uji. Pengujian menggunakan alat spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ektrak etanol Spons Ianthella basta memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan persentase sebesar 48,73% pada konsentrasi 100 µg/mL. Kata Kunci: Spons Ianthella basta, Antioksidan, Ekstraksi, DPPH

Free radicals are one of the cause of various diseases. The use of synthetic antioxidant compounds could prevent the effect of the free radicals, however may cause adverse effects on the human body such as impaired liver, lung, intestinal and poisoning. Therefore antioxidant from natural resources needs to be developed. The purpose of this research was to determine the antioxidant activity and IC50 value of the ethanol extract of ganitri (Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxbs.) leaves. Ganitri leaf ethanol extract activity test was carried out using DPPH method with vitamin C as a standard. Antioxidant activity was determined as a decreas in the absorbance of DPPH at 517 nm wavelength after an addition of the extract with the concentrations of 20, 40, 80, and 100 ppm. The antioxidant acitivity measurement of the ganitri leaf extract showed that the linier regression equation obtained was y = 0.3669x + 29.546, r = 0.4573 while the IC50 value was 54,12 ppm. Based on the result, it is concluded that the ethanol extract of ganitri (Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb.) leaf showed was categorized as strong antioxidant.

<p><em>Obat Pahit</em> is a potion that has been long commonly consumed by Lingga Malay society for generations as stamina keeper. The most dominant plants found in the packaging of the Obat Pahit were namely <em>Bauhunia semibifida, Cnestis palala</em> and Penawa Root (3 species). This research aimed to investigate and determine activity of antioxidant contents in <em>Obat Pahit</em> from five Traditional Medicine Practitioners (TMPs) in the district of Lingga. The tested samples were mashed then being soaked into 2 types of solvent: distilled water and methanol, containing HCl 1%. DPPH method was also used in this research. Quantitatively antioxidant activity test of <em>Obat Pahit</em> from the five TMPs by using methanol solvent had extremely highest activity compared to the distilled water solvent. The test, using TLC plate by spraying the extract from three dominant plants with 0.1 mM of DPPH solution, produced a pale-yellow spots at a wavelength of 366 nm. On the other hand, the test using HPLC at wavelengths of 230 nm and 280 nm showed the presence of two dominant secondary metabolites contents: flavonoid and phenolic. IC50 (ppm) of <em>Bauhinia semibifida</em> (6.6247), Penawa Root (5.0124) and <em>Cnestis palala</em> (5.9968) were much lower than IC50 of mangosteen’s rind (41.7675), vitamin C (6.6612) and Stimuno drug (8.333). This antioxidant analysis has not been reported previously. This proof contributed greatly to uncovering potentially native natural resources as an indigenous Indonesian drug which is expected to decrease dependence on imported drugs especially imunomodulator, antihypertensive, antidiabet etc. This research would be beneficial and excellent manifestation for the development of natural antioxidant-based medicines from traditional knowledge of Indonesia’s local ethnicities.</p>

Has been investigated the antioxidant activity of  sijukkot ( Lactuca indica L.) The antioxidant activity was tested by capturing 2,2’-diphenyl-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical method and Vitamin C as a standard of comparison, to absorption using UV-Vis  spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 517nm. The data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS for windows, resulting in a value of y = 0.2036x + 30.35 for sijukkot extract and y = 29.625x - 73.664 for vitamin C. It was found the leaves have an antioxidant site with 96,51 ppm through IC50 test 4,17 ppm which used Vitamin C as a control.

ABSTRACT Extract Ethanol of Manila Sapodilla (Acrhras zapota L.)  contain flavonoid compound with antioxidant activity. Aim of this research is to find out ethanol  extract of manila sapodilla (Acrhras zapota L.) has antioxidant activity with DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil). Extract was made by using maceration  method by using ethanol liquid 70%. Ethanol extract of manila sapodilla (Acrhras zapota L.) was made main liquid 1000 ppm after that therewere dilution of 20, 40, 60, and 80 ppm. Positive control (Vitamin C) with concentration 2, 4, 6, and 8 ppm. Each of concentration was taken 1 ml then added 2 ml of DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil) liquid, and then it is  homogent and incubated during 30 minutes. After that, measurement of spectrophotometer UV-Vis was conducted in wave length of 517 nm. Result of data was analyzed by using absorbansi with grapic of concentration relationship with percentage of DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil) inhibition. Result of research shows that ethanol  extract of manila sapodilla (Acrhras zapota L.) was proven has the antioxidant activity very strong with IC50  8,2786 µg/mL. Keywords : Manila Sapodilla, DPPH, Antioxidant, Spectrophotometer. ABSTRAK Ekstrak etanol daun sawo manila (Acrhras zapota L.)  mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah ekstrak etanol daun sawo manila (Acrhras zapota L.) memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil). Ekstrak dibuat dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Ekstrak etanol daun sawo manila (Acrhras zapota L.) dibuat larutan induk 1000 ppm setelah  itu dilakukan pengenceran 20, 40, 60, dan 80 ppm. Kontrol positif (Vitamin C) dengan konsentrasi 2, 4, 6, dan 8 ppm. Dari masing-masing konsentrasi diambil 1 ml lalu di tambahkan 2 ml larutan DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil), kemudian dihomogenkan dan diinkubasi selama 30 menit. Setelah itu,dilakukan pengukuran spektrofotometer UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 517 nm. Data hasil dianalisis pengukuran absorbansi menggunakan grafik hubungan konsentrasi dengan persen inhibisi DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun sawo manila (Acrhras zapota L.) terbukti memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat dengan nilai IC50  8,2786 µg/mL. Kata kunci : Sawo Manila, DPPH, Antioksidan, Spektrofotometer.
